An email client, email reader or more formally mail user agent (MUA) is a computer program in the category of groupware environments used to access and manage a user's email. A web application that provides message management, composition, and reception functions may internally act as an email client; as a whole, it is commonly referred to as webmail. Likewise, email client may be referred to a piece of computer hardware or software whose primary or most visible role is to work as an email client. Email clients can also have other systems, like calendars, notes and contact managers.

When a Collegue of mine add's a mailbox to his outlook, that mailbox wil only get mail when u manually hit Send & Recieve. A few other collegue's of mine experience te same problem. But when I add the mailbox to my outlook it does get mail real time, so I don't have that problem.

They al have a few mailboxes in their outlook but even when I remove all mailboxes and add only that specific one, it doesn't recieve mail  unless u manually hit send & recieve.

Microsofts best practice is working in the OWA but that is not an option, does anyone know how to solve this problem?

HOW IT ALL STARTED
I signed up at the Microsoft Stream Preview website, using an Personal Microsoft Account ID, not realizing that it was a service meant for Office 365 for Business. Usually Microsoft websites check if the account is a business account or not before accepting he email id. Microsoft Stream, however accepted my Personal Microsoft Account ID and signed me up, classifying the ID as a Business Microsoft ID as it created an Office 65/Azure tenant.

THE PROBLEM THAT THAT CREATED
Was unable to access mails at outlook.com which came up with a something-went-wrong error message when we tried to sign in. A little research on Bing (yes, I am a loyal Microsoft Insider) and I found that the solution was to switch my primary e-mail id with an alias.

WHAT I AM USING
Lumia 950 with Windows 10 Mobile, Version: 1703 (Build: 10.0.15063.414)
Surface Pro with Windows 10, Version: 1703 (Build: 10.0.15063.413)

WHAT WORKS WHAT DOES NOT
Surface: Everything works with the new primary alias
Mobile:  Mail and People Apps on the Mobile not syncing (Error code: 0x85010014)  Error Message with the new primary alias. Everything else works

WHAT I HAVE TRIED
Deleting and re-adding the Mail/People accounts about 50 times. Tweaking the settings in the Outlook account trying different sync and mail server settings (hotmail/eas). Hard resetting the Mobile as the Apps | Apps & Features | Advanced Options | Reset button is greyed out.

I have one client that cannot email me.. They receive a bounced back message saying;

550 Verification Failed
No such user here
Sender verification failed

I can however email them. But they cannot reply.

None of their emails from their domain raywhite.com will come through, however I have been guaranteed from my ISP (crazy domains) that there are no blocks on my end. However i do know of another company who are with crazy domains are experiencing the same problem with the Raywhite.com server

As I run my ow  business, my only option is to change hosting companies in the hope that works.

Would love an easier fix

I have a client who is subscribed to the grandfathered free mail hosting (i.e. his own domain is hosted via the original free Apps for Business).

Basic question - he's setup as IMAP. His emails are fine, but his contacts are not sync'd with his online webmail access via gmail.com. In other words, when he opens his Contacts in Gmail, his Outlook contacts are not there.

Can anyone offer guidance for a simple method of a) syncing the existing Outlook contacts with Gmail, and b) ensure there is an automatic syncing mechanism for future contacts.

Thanks.
Dave

Hello All,

Does anyone know of a free, safe conversion tool or method for exporting Thunderbird email to Outlook 2016?

Hello, I want to export several thousand emails from Windows Live Mail 2012 to Outlook.  I'm trying to use WLM's inbuilt Export to Exchange feature.  There are 1,020 emails in Inbox, and then there are loads of folders within the Inbox, with another 4000, roughly.  The process begins fine, and when reaches email number 684 of the Inbox, out of 1,020 (always the same email), WLM crashes, and the process halted.  I've heard of other people having the same problem as well, and when they try to open the offending email in WLM, they get an error - which suggests corruption in the email.  However I have no idea how they found which email it was that wouldn't open.  How can I tell which email number 684 is, so that I can just delete this and carry on.  I obviously can't open every email in my Inbox.

Any ideas?

I know there are 3rd party paid apps to do the migration for me, but I'd like to see if I can do it this way first.

Thanks,

I have a csv file imported from my Verizon Email account which I want to import to GMail.  Naturally there is no way to get help from Gmail.

Does anyone have an idea?  I've done the hard part which has been extracting the data from a reluctant Verizon!  This should be the easy part.

Thanks,

Biggles1

Hi  I have several issues with my outlook, I am on a windows 7 64 bit MO with outlook 2010, over the past 4 years the following is happening;

1 emails are coming into my inbox and randomly being flagged for follow up and either left in my follow-up section on inbox or being moved to a random folder this is without them being read
2  emails are coming into my inbox and the being marked as completed without me reading them
3 previously flagged items are randomly returning into folders or my follow up folder
4 email account sends out random meeting requests this could be last year, yesterday or from 4 years ago!
5 some emails are not being received and yet the person at the other end of the email has a copy with date and time, the exchange states the email was received but it's not in my inbox
6 emails that I sent are not found in my sent items or even mailbox, yet the person at the other end has a copy of my email I sent to them

So far I started with an Excel document issue and from then til now 4 years I have had horrendous issues.

IT have given me 4 new laptops, they are great and no issues until about 4-6 months down the line when they are clearly visible and I am convinced I'm not crazy or losing the plot.  I had no phone synced to my email account when the issues started happening, repaired email accounts, created new email accounts, the only thing that works for a short period of time is a new laptop install, also I seem to be the one who uses the flagged …

What is the best method to setup and configure Gmail to work in Outlook 2007 to prevent from launching a web browser and signing in the traditional way? I would also like the possibly to log in using the traditional way by launching a web browser. Is it possible to configure Outlook 2007 to keep the emails from Gmail's server and put it on my personal hard-drive?

I have a group of 25 users on a domain that are using remote desktop access to a common server. They use a program on your server that requires them to use Outlook to send reports, invoices, etc.

The email addresses they use our Gmail hosted, and some of these users have ridiculous PST files.  What is the easiest way to set up a Outlook 2007 or 2010 profile that does not bring in any data from the Gmail servers.  Essentially would just be using them to send  mail

I have two new Windows 10 boxes pre-loaded with Office 2016.  All seemed well during setup until opening Outlook.  On Box A, I can connect user to Exchange with no issue.  On Box B, I get a message that there is no connectivity to Exchange.  I can connect to the account in question via Outlook 2013 and OWA, just not in 2016.

I thought since so early in setup stage, maybe just switch user logins on the boxes and move forward.  Well, the account on Box A works fine on Box B for Outlook, but the account on Box B gets the same connectivity error on Box A.

Sounds like something a setting on Exchange, but nobody has touched it in weeks.

Thoughts?

What would cause an end user to receive some of their emails hours later after they were sent. This only happens occasionally (not with every email)

Greetings,

My users recieve an occassional message from a local bank with a link to a message in the bank's secure communication system.  It usually looks like a html formatted message with a table showing the list of messages and each message is a link which takes you to a log in page where you use your credentials to access the bank's portal and read the messages.

Recently the messages have been coming in garbled.  Apparently the issue is caused by "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64".

The messages appear garbled in Outlook and OWA.  I read that it was just a problem with Outlook, but the messages are also garbled in Thunderbird.

The bank can't or won't change anything.  Office 365 tech support didn't have a solution.

If anyone can think of any other steps I can take to rectify this situation I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Best regards,

Sky

When a email account in configured in outlook as POP if two devices want to pick up the mail (from gmail server) only one will get it since on the gmail server its flagged as downloaded once the other device will not download it again.

Is there a way to set that more then one device should get all email from the same account without changing to IMAP?

The reason not to use IMAP since one user drags in to her folders in the account in question email from other accounts and with IMAP everything gets pushed back up the the gmail server and full up the limit of space in this email account.

Will the following be a solution, enable IMAP on the gmail server, and on the outlook side on the device files get dragged in the the account in question set up as POP so it will not push up to the gmail server and changes made in outlook, and the other devices set as IMAP?
Or if on the server IMAP is enabled it does matter how its set in outlook.
an other concern once the device that is set as IMAP will download the email it will get flagged as download the device set as POP will not get the emails?

Does Office 365 have the ability to turn off the flow of all internal emails between certain times (i.e. emails from one internal email address to another)? However, I’d still want the ability for employees to send and receive emails to/from external people (customers, partners, board members, etc.) and they would still need to be able to send/receive emergency emails.

The intent would be to queue up all internal emails that are sent between 7 pm to 7 am each weekday and from 7 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday. Then at 7 am, the emails in queue would all be sent. Is this a possibility with Office 365?

I am using gmail and outlook 2010 as a client.

I IMAP was enabled and I disabled it.

Outlook gave me a msg that IMAP is disabled on the server I should enable it.

I removed this email from the list and re created the account as POP and pointed it to the existing outlook file. outlook now could pick up mail, but still get the msg IMAP is disabled on the server I should enable it..

But in outlook when I point on the inbox of this address I get a msg Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The information store could not be opened. also when I click on properties I get a msg cannot display folder properties the folder may have been deleted or the server where the folder is stored may have been deleted.

My current problem is that when using the .Address function I get returned an address that isn't the email address I want but the last entry in the email addresses list. Is there any way for me to specify which address i want

an example of the contact's email address list would be

SIP:johndoe@email.com
smpt:johndoe@email.com
etc.
0xf218Hi=There

and it would return the 0xf218Hi=There when using .address
