An email client, email reader or more formally mail user agent (MUA) is a computer program in the category of groupware environments used to access and manage a user's email. A web application that provides message management, composition, and reception functions may internally act as an email client; as a whole, it is commonly referred to as webmail. Likewise, email client may be referred to a piece of computer hardware or software whose primary or most visible role is to work as an email client. Email clients can also have other systems, like calendars, notes and contact managers.

Hi,
I am using vb NET to send out a bunch of emails using the standard 'System.Net.Mail' SMTP object.  This is working fine and emails are reaching the intended recipient.  In these early stages, I also send a 'BCC' blind copy to the 'From' address so I can see the message that was sent.  I have one PC monitoring the sending address, and this receives the blind copies fine.

Where do 'bounce back' emails go? I have sent test messages out to intentionally mis-typed email addresses and I never receive any bounce back messages - 'unknown address' / 'not hosted here' etc messages.
Many thanks,
Tim

After my recent disaster, I had to run around to all my users and 'repair' their profiles due to a server misconfiguration.  Now the heat has died down, I am wondering how I can do this without haveing to have the user present and logging in.
  1. Is there a way for me change the connection settings for outlook users from the command line/programatically, script it?
  2. Is there a program (Not outlook) and can use to open the Outlook connection settings so I can view/edit them?  Something light weight that does not require a huge install

Most said it can't be done or shouldn't be done. I agree with the can't be done but the ones who said it shouldn't I say that's ridiculous.

We're not idiots. If we want to change the subject let it be our problem if it can't be traced or whatever other reasons they gave. If I want to save an email, I would like a keyword in the subject that I can easily search on.

If you want a toggle someplace to turn on or off editing of subject of received emails, great, but we should be allowed edit EASILY, not with some tweak or app, it should be built into client.

Hello

I have access to a shared email inbox in outlook 2010.

When an email arrives in the shared account, it goes directly to my local inbox (as well as other staff inboxes that have access to the shared  account)

How can I keep the emails  in the shared inbox so that everyone can see them ?

EE,

I have been requested by the CEO to take a collection of Outlook PST files (v2007) and determine the range of dates of the emails.
> We have a collection of about 8 PST files from various phases of this employees history.
> I need to determine the date ranges of the emails and combine these PST files into one or maybe two PST files for archiving.

I have found tools that will report statistics of the PST folders (Size, attachments, etc), but I have not found one that will report email receive dates.

Second question;
I am thinking that I could import these PST files into one outlook account and use the 'No Duplicate email' options to reduce the number of copies that could occur - Does this sound like something that will work?

Inquiring minds need to know...

Hi, we have a problem with an e-mail newsletter. For some reason, some of the hyperlinks aren't clickable, but some are. Strangely, people outside the business can click all links and they work fine. I suspect it's a restriction in Outlook but not sure what. Any ideas what to look for? The majority of people use Outlook 2010.

Thanks

Hi

We are using Exchange 2007 and outlook 2013. The PA to the Director have the access to the Director calendar. The PA opens the director calendar from his PC and Right click a free slot on the director calendar –New appointment and invite Attendees and send the meeting request. When click send after some time gets and error Delivery failed to these recipients or distribution list.

Do I need to give any permissions for the PA.  After some time PA  gets a message on his inbox saying Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
There's a problem with the recipient's mailbox. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator. Please see the Diagnostic information for administrators attached.

Any help will be great, thanks in advance.

Dear Experts,

Having done a recent upgrade to Exchange 2016 CU6 over this weekend, we noticed a bizarre problem in which the Outlook Web Access (OWA) page displayed "Something Went Wrong" after logging in.

The issues turned out to be related to how Microsoft Internet Information Service parses the certificates; the thumbprint for the primary cert was lost and had to be regenerated using powershell.

Thanks,
Mardy

Hi Experts,

Recently, we have been receiving spam that looks like it was coming from our domain which bypasses our spam filters. There is an SPF record for the MX mail.simex.ca but that didn't help. Any way to prevent further spam like this from bypassing our spam filters?

Thanks in advance.

Here is the internet headers of the email.

Ever since upgrading from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2016 I'm unable to delete emails with PDF attachments from our scanner as well as Invite acceptance tallies. Outlook will not let you move them either: Unknown Error.

The only way for me to remove them is by Shift + Delete, however that's not a good solution for end users who may want to keep those or move into folders. I've researched various articles which also suggested the Permanently delete option, as well as recreated my entire Outlook profile on the machine (deleting dirs from AppData as well) and even repairing Office 365/2016 local install.

Backend is Exchange 2010 SP2, local Win 7, Cached Exchange is not enabled. Anyone else have a working solution to this issue?  I don't want to roll out 2016 until this is resolved.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I have this rule created on Microsoft Outlook,
https://www.howtogeek.com/254282/how-to-schedule-or-delay-sending-email-messages-in-outlook/
But How to delay email and then sent out to a recipient, then another recipient but same email?
I'm using MS Outlook and Zimbra 8.0.2 server,
thanks,

Hi

One of my users is using Outlook 2011 on Mac with Exchange email account (Office 365). He has text based signature configured to appear in each email he sends.
We noticed that when people receive his emails the fonts are not the same size he used for composing emails. He used to size 8 Verdana for text and email but now we changed it to size 11 Verdana. Saved the settings and closed and reopened Outlook. When composing email it all looks fine. When I received his emails on Outlook 2016 Windows the fonts changed size 8 to size 6 and from size 11 to 8.5. We also checked some of his emails to which people replied and the fonts there vary from 8.5 to 12, but we don't know what email software recipients are using. We checked it in user's Sent items and it is fine there.
It looks like the emails this user is sending are all plain texts, at least the ones I saw.
As far as I am concerned all of the updated for Outlook 20111 and his Mac are installed.

Is this just the way Mac "likes" the rest of the world or can we make sure that his emails are displayed properly?

Regards,
Tom

Anyone know the SMTP authentication for San.RR.com?   I'm also not well versed in Apple Mail client so I may be doing something wrong.  I referenced below but I don't see SMTP authentication... My options are External, Kerberos, NTLM, MD5, and Password.  Also, do I need need a IMAP path prefix ?

While sending HTML links to a relative using Thunderbird I discovered an anomaly or mistake or something?

The web page I wish the relative to access is

http://www.jawamarkt.cz/en/search/electr-ignition-set-12volt-top-price-

but if you place that in an email and send it the hyperlink turns into

http://www.jawamarkt.cz/en/search/electr-ignition-set-12volt-top-price  (the hyphen is still there but doesn't form part of the hyperlink).

So ...

Is this an error on Thunderbird's part or is there a reason for it?
Are hyperlinks in HTML allowed to have a hyphen at end or must they finish with a letter or number?
