An email client, email reader or more formally mail user agent (MUA) is a computer program in the category of groupware environments used to access and manage a user's email. A web application that provides message management, composition, and reception functions may internally act as an email client; as a whole, it is commonly referred to as webmail. Likewise, email client may be referred to a piece of computer hardware or software whose primary or most visible role is to work as an email client. Email clients can also have other systems, like calendars, notes and contact managers.

Hello,

Currently I have a Exchange 2007/2013 co-existence setup and i'm currently not able to login to my Exchange 2013 OWA.

When trying to access https://mail.mydomain.com/owa from the internal - Credentials are entered, the screen flashes and does not allow the login.

When trying to access https://mail.mydomain.com/owa from the outside, credentials are entered, it acts like it wants to accept them, screen flashes and does not allow the login.

As i'm getting ready to move mailboxes from 2007 to 2013 so I'm really not concerned about the redirection working from 2013 to 2007. I'm thinking this issue has something to do with how the authentication is setup on Exchange 2013. Currently is is set to "use one of more standard authentication methods" and non of the check boxes below that are selected.

I have an existing Outlook 2013 setup with one POP3 email configuration. I purchased a new POP3 email account that I wanted to add to the existing Outlook Profile, set as default, and remove the  original. I believe I made a mistake deleting the original POP 3 account  from my registra before removing it cleanly from Outlook.  So, when I went to open the account settings within Outlook, it won't open. I am unable to access the account to delete it from the OUtlook Profile. Luckily I was able to switch the default to the new POP 3 account so Outlook does open, yet I believe I will have problems with  the  calendar, tasks, etc. I already know I am  unable to reply from the new account.

How can I get rid of the original email account, and have all the Outlook functions (Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, etc.  associate to the new user?

I have an old USA.NET email account, which I need to stop using.   I want to have emails to the USA.NET account automatically forwarded to my GMAIL account, though I don't want the senders alerted to the new address.  How can this be done?

Thanks,

Phil

This concerns CHECKING RECEIVED EMAILS/ATTACHMENTS (NOT SENDING) on a modern Exchange server from a modern client (Win7/Win10) using CDO (or some other technology that does the trick).  There is info a-plenty on how to SEND emails using CDO and I've been doing it for years (a 2 year old mongoloid child can do it).  But now I have a new client who uses Outlook to read emails with automated Access/Excel VBA programs, but that has proved problematic for them, so they want to stop using Outlook and do it another way.

Based on my extensive research on the matter, this issue is not for the novice or inexperienced, but only for the truly top experts to even try and consider handling.  Do any of you "real" experts out there know how to use VBA in Access or Excel and a mail technology (no premium programs, please) capable of enabling a client to scan and retrieve emails from a business Exchange server?  How have you done it in the past?  Hopefully this request finds the brilliant minds I'm looking for.

Anyone providing a working solution that I can get to work for me will receive national acclaim.  Anyone providing instructions on how to SEND emails with CDO will be laughed at and ridiculed.  Thanks  in advance for any assistance that furthers the cause.

Hi Experts,
I am looking for a program that will keep checking at a particular folder every 20 minutes, if there were no new files created then will send an email.
This should be running all the time except for night hours (10.15 PM to 6.00 AM).
Thanks

We have an Online Exchange (O365). We have multiple affected users with the same issue and is persistent across all versions of Outlook.

The users have full delegate access to a Shared Mailbox. They are able to view and access the mailbox just fine in Outlook, but the Shared Mailboxes also have In-Place Archiving enabled. These show up in the delegates users' Outlook as Online Archive - Example@Example.com . But when attempting to access the Online Archive via Outlook, they are getting the error message:

"The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\User@Example.com - Example.ost is in use and cannot be accessed. Close any application that is using this file, and then try again. You might need to restart the computer.

We have confirmed that the users are able to connect to the Shared Mailbox via OWA and access the archives there, this issue is solely isolated to Outlook.

We have tried purging the AutoDiscover keys in the registry, creating a new email profile in Outlook, and deleting the OST files and Outlook cache to no avail.

I have an admin using Outlook 2010.  She has her calendar set with her name (e.g. Jane Doe).  She also appears to have created a second calendar called Jane Doe - Staff.  This calendar she shared out with her team and they used it to track time off.  So anyone desiring time off, could update this shared calendar with their time off.

She somehow removed it from her calendar view accidentally.  So all of her team can see it, but she can't.  How do we get this back for her.  Originally, she shared it with us, but not sure if we have to share it back to her??

What is the easiest way to make an HTML Newsletter?  I know this is not necessarily easy, but I need a novice user to be able to formulate a newsletter via email and need something that will help him.  Could Publisher be used for this purpose?

I have been asked to setup email for a new company that has outsourced the building of their website.  The website company has not fully configured the new domain of my new company and has asked me if I could go ahead and create the desired email accounts with the DNS method??  I am not a network person and don't have the experience to do this, if it is possible.  Can anyone tell me how you setup new email accounts without using a C-panel or hosting company and by utilizing DNS?  Thank you very much!

Please let me know if you require any additional information from me.  Thank you

Finder and deleting old Mac Thunderbird emails

I have deleted a handful of old email accounts in Thunderbird. But, I forgot to always check the checkbox to remove the associated emails.

Now, I am asked to compress the emails, which are ~275 GB.

Is there a way to find these folders and delete them manually?

Thanks

Limits on number of messages allowed to be stored in a Hotmail account? Curiously we opened our mail box and the inbox only had 3 messages. All the rest had been moved to the delete box.

So far, I've heard that clicking attachments (PDF, MSOffice, png, executables/scripts,
active contents) & links in malicious/phishing/spam emails may risk compromising
the user.

Has anyone come across any email, that just by opening the email content (but
without clicking any attachments, links or 'downloading contents like images')
will compromise the user??  If so, how does such compromise work & how do
we educate users to take precaution against such emails?  Certainly we need
to open to see email contents as just viewing subject heading/sender may not
be good enough.

I'm using Outlook client & webmail (ie browser to access corporate email).

A friend told me that just by opening a gmail in the past (without clicking the
links/attachments in it), things went wrong with her mailbox in gmail.

Hi,

We use Google For Business for our work email.

We are trying to gain access to one of our old staff's email account, as he used his email address to register a piece of software that we use, and we now need to change it to our main service email, as we can't change our billing.

When we try reset the password, it sends a code to his phone, however he no longer uses the same phone number so he is unable to help us.

As Admin of the Google account, I thought I would be able to get around this, and access this inbox?

Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks.

I was on Hotmail but not involved with any photos. What key did I hit to trigger this and what would clicking ok get me?
I did not click ok and just shut down the system.

Hi,
I have to design a little email tool for sending semi-automated mails to customers on behalf of employees who don't have enough time to do by theirselves. Information about mail targets (customers) are taken from a database, a mail template is used and filled with the appropriate information. At least that mail is sent out to the customer and a bcc is sent to an internal 'archive' mail address. My tool's basically working and sending mails out. But here are the requirements (and my related problems):

1. If target mail address is not correct or something goes wrong within the mail transport, the error mail must not go back to the employee (which name and address is used in the from tag). Error mails should go to a different 'pool' address, where an operator may compare and correct against the database.

2. If customer replies to the mail, that reply should go to the employee rather than to a 'pool' address or operator.

3. The mail should optically appear to the customer as if it has been sent from the employee.

I need an example on how to create the mail headers to accomplish exactly that behaviour (or one close to that). I tried some combinations and I read the RFCs, but I couldn't get the required results so far.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

TIA
Michael

Hello,

This is the 1st of 3* questions re searching in Mozilla Thunderbird email manager:

How do you determine the specific folder/subfolder in which a particular search-result email resides?

In other words, after entering search criteria, Thunderbird displays a list of messages which match the specified criteria. Selecting one of the messages displays its content OK but how do you determine the specific folder/subfolder which contains that message?

Thanks

What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to bulk remove all the users that have access to a some resource room calendars...

$Users = Get-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity "roomresource1@contoso.com:\calendar"
foreach ($User in $Users)
{
Remove-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity "roomresource1@contoso.com:\calendar" -User $user
}

I can then go back and add the Default and Anonymous settings:

Add-MailboxFolderPermission "roomresource1@contoso.com:\calendar" -User "Default" -AccessRights Reviewer
Add-MailboxFolderPermission "roomresource1@contoso.com:\calendar" -User "Anonymous" -AccessRights None

Thanks in advance.

I have various users who have access to a shared mailbox in exchange online.

The problem is that any messages that arrive from their voicemail provider is going into junk for everyone.

I have added the address to the allow list on the spam filter in Exchange Online.

Emails are still going into spam.

Im guessing the issue is therefore one of the email clients (outlook for mac mainly) has marked it as junk and it is therefore the same for everyone.

Any advice would help.
