I have an exchange 2010 / o365 hybrid setup.

I have an internal SMTP relay that applications use to send out mail.

It has stopped sending outside of the organization. I have done a million things. but i just removed, and recreated it. It will deliver email to the o365 mailboxes, but nothing external (gmail, yahoo..etc)

I did run the following after i created it:

Get-ReceiveConnector "Anonymous Relay" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights "Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient"

It ran without error.

I also made sure the IP's of my device are in the allowed list. and that it accepts anonymous users.

I can telnet to that server on port 25 and send a message. there is no error.

any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

I like the functionality of Boomerang and would consider it on my next product launch. Does it require GMail?

Is Mail Gun an alternative? I used that once before and it did not require GMail.

Thanks,

I have a client using a Panasonic phone system (KX-TVA200). The vendor who set it up tried to configure it to use one of their O365 user accounts to relay, a free Google account and a free Yahoo account. None worked. He finally said that the system can't send using TLS or STARTTLS. They don't have an in-house SMTP Server (as they are on O365).

He ended up using his Exchange Server to relay the voicemails to email - which is only a temporary fix.

Questions (Note - I know nothing about phone systems!):
1. Is he correct that the KX-TVA200 can't sent secure emails and we can't use an O365 account to relay?
2. If so, can I setup/use an in-house Windows 10 PC as an SMTP Server to relay the mail?
3. Or would it be simpler/easier to use an SMTP Service (like serversmtp.com)?

I've never attempted Number 2 or 3 and am looking for the simplest solution with minimal setup. They probably only get about 10-20 voicemails a day for the entire office.

Hello all,
I have a client that needs to encrypt some of her emails (not all) due to the sensitive nature of what is contained in her emails.
I am looking for either software or an appliance that will do this.
Here are the two caveats that will throw a monkey wrench into the works.
1)  She is using gmail but with her own domain.  One question is that I heard that gmail uses TSL for encryption so you do not have to encrypt those emails, is that true?
2)  She only has two computers that she is using (very small business, but with it's own 2012 R2 server).  Obviously she can't afford any appliances that are over $2,000.
Thank you,
Kelly W.

How can we solve the issue of verifying data integrity in Microsoft Outlook 2010?

Hi

One of my users is using Outlook 2011 on Mac with Exchange email account (Office 365). He has text based signature configured to appear in each email he sends.
We noticed that when people receive his emails the fonts are not the same size he used for composing emails. He used to size 8 Verdana for text and email but now we changed it to size 11 Verdana. Saved the settings and closed and reopened Outlook. When composing email it all looks fine. When I received his emails on Outlook 2016 Windows the fonts changed size 8 to size 6 and from size 11 to 8.5. We also checked some of his emails to which people replied and the fonts there vary from 8.5 to 12, but we don't know what email software recipients are using. We checked it in user's Sent items and it is fine there.
It looks like the emails this user is sending are all plain texts, at least the ones I saw.
As far as I am concerned all of the updated for Outlook 20111 and his Mac are installed.

Is this just the way Mac "likes" the rest of the world or can we make sure that his emails are displayed properly?

Regards,
Tom

I can not find, for the life of me, how to get Thunderbird to update my GMail password. I needed to change the password, and GMail blocks me from using an old password, so I can not solve the problem by going back to the ld one.

I can not get it to update properly.

I am sometimes presented with a GMail login window where the "Next" button does nothing, even tough I enter the correct email address.

So, how do I explicitly set the password for an existing email account on Thunderbird?

Thanks.

I have an email to you out and would like my press release, a PDF, to be more than just an attachment. I'd like it to be the body of the email.

How do I do this?

And can I add a few sentences, as a personal note, above the body of the email?

Hi

We have a client who has just had a DKIM domainkey setup for them. Unfortunately some emails are not getting through to the end users (especially if using Mimecast mail servers).

We have been doing some testing and have found that:
Emails that do not have an attached file - it pass the DKIM checks.
If emails have attached documents, they seem to pass OK as well.
If emails have got an attached email that was originally from the sender, it passes OK
If an email has an attached email from a third party (that has originally been changed with DKIM) it fails the DKIM test on our/the recipients servers. This has happened to us and we use exchange online servers.

When it fails it says dkim=fail (body hash did not verify)

They have a valid SPF record also setup and every email through the testing procedure seems to pass on the SPF checks without any failures.

There is no DMARC record setup yet, but as far as I can see this is the next step after we have got DKIM working correctly.

Unfortunately our client who is having this problem quite often forward a lot of emails during their working day so need this resolving.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Guys, please assist this scenario:
- Action: We changeed Email server from Gmail to Exchange 2016 On-premise, so we had to change the domain records in Domain control panel. We changed TXT, MX, @, mail records.

- Problem: After changes, the new Exchange server worked (send/receive emails) normally as expected, however we realized that we could still login to Gmail account, Google Drive and sent emails (but could not receive emails)

So can you please explain?

Dear experts, do you know how to split a big PST file (200 GB) into smaller pieces (50 GB)? Can a batch script or something like that do the trick?

Many thanks as always.

I had a spam problem about a month ago, which I fixed on my end.  I notice now that email I send to recipients at gmail are automatically being marked as spam.

My mail server is Unix - Communigate Pro running on an old PowerMac. Outbound mail goes to my SMTP server, which is a Dell SonicWall ES-3300    I changed the IP address after the spam got past the SonicWall, and put the new address into my DNS, which is hosted by DYN.com

I looked at the header of a message I sent to my gmail account.  I see something wrong with the SPF record

Hi Experts,

Is there a way to prevent messages sent to Hotmail.com (or Outlook.com) addresses from ending up in the Junk Email folder that I can see at outlook.live.com, based on either of these criteria:
-      Destination domain (e.g. everything sent TO somedomain.com)
-      Content of the subject (e.g. any subject containing the word “Rosters”).

As a test, I have setup a rule to move any email containing the word “Rosters” anywhere in the subject, to the “1Temp” folder, and:
-      That works for some emails (i.e. those not considered to be spam, I guess)
-      Fails for others, which still end up in the Junk Email folder.
Attached is a screen shot of that rule.
As you can see, I’m using “Inbox and sweep rules” to achieve this, because I don’t think the “Safe Mailing Lists” or “Safe senders” features have the flexibility to whitelist by these kinds of generalised criteria.

I’ve read here that some other people are having problems with Hotmail.com/Outlook.com rules, but I’m not sure whether mine is the same issue:
  https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/284136-outlook-com/suggestions/11133255-rules-no-longer-working

Thanks.

How can I lookup the Office 365 email address that was used to install Office 2016 on a computer?

When I look in the account section within any Office application such as Outlook, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint this email address is blanked out (see the screenshot)

I need to document this information for a new client I am working at.

When I go to the http://portal.office.com or http://outlook.office.com this email address doesn't appear and the user's don't know which email address this is.

How can this information be looked up?
