Hello Experts - I am looking for recommendations for software to replace a very old version of Sage Timberline.  We use this application to create cost estimates for construction projects that my company designs.  The version we are on (9) is ancient and runs on an old XP laptop with a dongle, at least until the hard drive dies.  I checked on the most recent version which is now called Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.  It has one of the worst set of reviews I've come across on Spiceworks:

I'd like to avoid all that drama and find an application that works with minimal hassle for both myself and our project managers.  Please recommend an alternative that would allow us to produce accurate costs for our projects, thanks!

I know that aside from the Oracle Database, there are several Oracle applications (including an Oracle app for Educational institutions, etc)

In the context of the general Oracle apps (not specifically the Education package), what data formats are imported and exported from Oracle, and where could I find such information

Hi,

We currently use CRM 2011. It is currently at Rollup 17. We (not myself) had done this roll up about one month ago in order to prepare for an eventual migration to a new CRM server.

I got a report last week from a user who noticed that when they attempt to change a phone number field on an account they get an error. They claimed this error had started about a week or two before then. (Which places it roughly around the time we did the roll up)

The error they get is as follows,

Message from webpage:
 
“There was an error with this field’s customized event.
Field:telephone1
Event:onchange
Error:Unable to get property ‘replace’ of undefined or null reference” (this becomes simply "Undefined" in chrome)

We have not made any changes to anything in CRM on the back end outside of installing the roll up on the server. We have one user outside of our IT department who is able to access the administrative functionality, and they also have not made any changes in recent memory. I have no experience with CRM. I'm just going to get that out there first, but I am familiar on a basic level with JS.

So I have used the web portal to look at the Account and went to fields and then the related field (Telephone1) and saw nothing referencing a script or anything of that  nature so I then went to Forms and found our account form. I am looking for something that will inventory all our windows 7, xp and MS Office licences. I have used Spiceworks but am not really a fan. I can't seem to get it to work exactly how I want it to but the Help desk feature is nice.. I have used things like Dell Kace, Belarc, Cisco Meraki system manager. I guess what I am looking for is a Belarc (with out spending $1,800) like tool that can give me a quick look at Hardware and Software. Dell Kace looks nice but it dosen't seem to pull license info about programs off of the machines.

Here is the deal. I need some method of removing attachments with exchange 2013. I am going to be importing a large amount of email and the customer would rather not import attachments.

Hello, I have a Oracle 6i form that, when an application user logs in for the first time and uses the mouse to hover over a button, the form returns the error:

"FRM-41076: Error Populating Group"

After clicking "OK" to clear the error, if I hover the mouse again over the same button, this error appears next:

"FRM-40735: WHEN-MOUSE-ENTER trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-304500"

Finally, after clicking "OK" to clear this second error, any subsequent hovering over the button repeatedly continues to produce the following error:

"FRM-40735: WHEN-TIMER-EXPIRED trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-304500"

However, when logged on to the forms as the database owner, I get no errors.

This button used to work normally three months ago ... but with nothing changed, it started to give these errors out of the blue. Any ideas what this may be caused by?

Hello.  We are running Business Objects 3.1 in our environment.  We have a clustered environment and the filestore sits on a NAS.  We are encountering a problem where our filestore/data consumption is growing too quickly.  The servers hosting the environment are running Windows 2008 R2, the web interface and Intelligence Server are sitting on separate servers.

We have performed the suggested utilities such as pruning, setting limits, etc.  We have run Query builder and am not finding an overly large item that may be taking up more than it's share.  What other options are there?  We've been searching, but the mainstream maintenance items noted above really aren't making an impact.  In fact, I ran prune yesterday and in the log it did note that it cleaned up quite a bit, but the overall size when looking at the metrics for the Filestore Input/output actually increased instead of decreased.  The prune is running correctly, and we understand that this is only going to clean up orphaned folders and not have a large impact.

What other utilities have you used successfully to trim the fat?  

Any assistance is appreciated.

We have an issue where we have student Majors and Major Reporting categories.  The problem is that these items have a 1.N <--> 1.N relationship.  Currently on the back end the database has these items stored together in the same view (as our FM model source) and there is no unique key defined for each reporting category (it has to be a combination of the Major_Code + Reporting_Category).  With this being the case can  determinants be used to correct the granularity.  I have attempted this by defining Major as the first determinant with Major_Code as the key and then Reporting Category as my second determinant with a derived key of (Major_Code + Reporting Category).  I was able to compile this into my model on the Major dimension and successfully publish the package.  However, the report I built returned the same exact GPA value I was getting in the report prior to incorporating determinants.

I have looked at the documentation from IBM and found it to be less than useful.  Can anyone recommend better documentation source or provide personal experience using determinants.

Hi People,

Does anyone here know what is the limitation and the caveats / pitfall that we need to aware when using the Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 build in archiving solution as oppose to use the 3rd party application, in this case Symantec Enterprise Vault v11 ?

In my current case, I'm using Exchange Server 2007 and EV v9, it works well, but somehow Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 already got builtin email archiving feature with no additional license. So I wonder what I should be aware of before decommissioning the Enterprise Vault and using the native builtin email archiving of Exchange Server.

Any thoughts and comment would be greatly appreciated.

I have a crosstab report that has 2 queries:

1.  A prompt page query for an academic term.  It only pulls data items from the query subject called Terms.
2.  A detail crosstab query that is using the same subject area as the prompt page data items  but has several other dimension data items and fact data items.  However, they are all coming from the same subject area of the FM package.

The report runs fine and returns valid data but when I validate the report I get the following warning:

Cognos 10.2.1.1 Report studio warning:  

XQE-WRN-0042 Join optimization: used the alphabetically first fact table

My questions:
1. Why if I have a query that only references data items from a single query subject would I get this warning?
2  Why if  the other query has a valid combination of dimension and fact data items in the query and on the report page (all from the same subject area of the FM model as the query from question 1) would I get this warning?

I did a test where I even tried to add a reference to the same fact table from query 2 in query 1 and I still get the same warning message.  I am just trying to understand why / how this warning gets generated under the conditions listed above.  Thanks.

I am working in Vision Software app which is SQL based.  SQL holds all of our tables and data on the back end.  

We have two fields on the front end.  One is a locked and pre calculates based on $ amounts placed in each entitiy of the business adding up multiple other fields. That one is called CustForecastedRevenueTotal . Tthen we have Revenue field which is a manually entered on the front end.  We don't want people any longer entering this information manually, we simply want the CustForecasted revenue to update or populate into the revenue field in Vision?  I wrote this userdefined condition but its giving me an error  pls see attachment.  
This is what I wrote.  What I want is the CustForecasted Revenue Total to update the Revenue field so they are equal.

I am in the process of setting up Enterprise vault 11 for exchange 2010 in a DAG.  the enterprise vault will be running on VMware 5.1.  

my question is since its virtualized should I still configure 2 server 2012 server in a Failover Cluster for the vault servers and 2 SQL servers in a cluster for the SQL databases ?

Is this necessary since its running virtual ? and is it best practices to have 2 servers for each in a cluster ?

I am developing on the Salesforce platform using apex and visualforce, which is a derivative of the Java language.  I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm encountering.  I have a custom ListView button and I'm trying to update a multi-select list field.  I'm including screenshot to show the UI flow (see below).

This code will replace the existing values in the multi-select list field. Instead, I'd like to add new values to multi-select list that already exist? I want to add and NOT replace values.

The issue is I need to the user to add a solution interest value to the records. For example, a lead record has the values: "A" and "B" for solution interest. I want the user to be able to select "C" from the multiple select list and save the record. Then the lead record will have the values "A", "B" and "C" for solution interest. Currently, the code replaces "A" and "B" with "C".
