Here I come again with this question on how to achieve dynamic content loading when user scroll to the bottom of the page. Currently, my code is loading all the content from the db at once using ajax, but I don't want to load everything at once. I want it to load just like twitter or facebook. Below is my code and what I've been trying to do.

HTML
<html>
<head>
<script>
function yHandler() {
    var wrap = document.getElementById('homeFeed');
    var contentHeight = wrap.offsetHeight;
    var yOffset = window.pageYOffset;
    var y = yOffset + window.innerHeight;
    if (y >= contentHeight) {
        // Ajax call to get more dynamic data goes here, how do I integrate the ajax call here?
    }
}
window.onscroll = yHandler;

function feed() {
    var xhttp;
    if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
        // code for modern browsers
        xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
    } else {
        // code for IE6, IE5
        xhttp = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    }
    xhttp.onreadystatechange = function(response) {
        if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
            document.getElementById("homeFeed").innerHTML = this.response;
        }
    };
    xhttp.open("GET", "functions/feedUpdate_New.php", true);
    xhttp.send(null);
}
feed();
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="homeFeed"></div>
</body>
</html>

Open in new window

PHP - feedUpdate_New.php

<?php
include_once(db_connect.php);
$sql = "SELECT message, audio, firstname, lastname FROM once WHERE username='myname'";
$query = mysqli_query($db_connect, $sql);
    while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($query, MYSQLI_ASSOC)) {
                    $message = $row['message'];
                    $audio = $row['audio'];
                    $firstname = $row['firstname'];
                    $lastname = $row['lastname'];

echo '<div id="parentContainer">';
      echo $message.'<br />';
      echo $firstname.''.$lastname;
echo '</div>';
}
?>

Open in new window

I have more than 1000 lines returned from my database query back to the ajax call. But I want to use the
function yHandler()

Open in new window

to achieve the dynamic loading, but I'm not just getting how to integrate the ajax call inside my
function feed()

Open in new window

into the yHandler to get the dynamic loading working.
Do I need to add LIMIT into my sql statement? Or is there any other way to get this done?

Is there a piece of code I can put in a href which when you click the link shares the page in facebook or twitter?

I know you can use:

<a href="http://twitter.com/share?url=<URL>&text=<TEXT>via=<USERNAME>"><img src="tw-circle.png" border="0" height="36" width="36"></a>

But I want it to know the page it is on as it is for a page template.

Thanks,

I have a youtube video with a pitch for a subscription service.

I plan to get some assistance in promoting the service and want to find a way to tie the link being passed around by each individual salesperson, back to that individual so that I know what commission to pay them if those viewers become customers.

Assistance in figuring out how to do this is greatly appreciated.

I have a subscription $5 mo project management product and want to sell it on Facebook among other places.  I have put it on youtube and am curious what the best method is for selling it using Facebook and/or other tools?

I don't want to write too much about it here because I do not want to violate any rules or guidelines.

Assistance regarding potential selling methods is greatly appreciated.

If you reply to a posting on Facebook with a "Comment", is that comment visible only to people who are friends of the original poster or to ALL of your Facebook friends?

Hello Experts,

Have any of you guys/girls had any interaction with The Consultant Hub? https://www.theconsultanthub.com/

If so, can you let me know if you would recommend them?

P.S.
I couldn't find a suitable topic so I selected Facebook and Consulting (sorry for any confusion)

Hello Experts,

Can someone please let me know if its possible to only have certain people view your past experience details in LinkedIn?

I know I can change my privacy settings to not publicly show my 'Past Experience' details as shown in the attached image. However, is possible to also 'not' show 'Past Experience' details to only certain LinkedIn members.

Thanks

Carlton

P.S. I added 'Facebook' as the approved topic because LinkedIn is still in proposal state

I knew Facebook tracked you but this is freaky!  I browsed some new mattresses on my iPad. It does not have the Facebook app on and I have only logged into Facebook once on it.

A few hours later logged into Facebook on my iPhone through the browser and not the app. Got bombarded with adverts for the very same mattresses that I had browsed a few hours earlier on my iPad!

My question is, how?  Not cookies as they are different devices? How did they associate my browsing on my iPad to looking at Facebook on my iPhone and showing me targeted ads!?

I have a book I am coming out with and would like to make it easy for people to click a button or URL and have that open Twitter with a default Tweet I could embed in my doc. If they want to send it as is, great.

Also, can I attach an image to this?

Also, how can  I do this with Facebook also?

I guess a link could easily be pasted but that would include MY Twitter account. Is that desired? Would that mean I need to make the tweet before I can paste it into the PDF?

Thanks.

Hi

In Facebook, 1000's of people can like or frown or comment on certain columns.

In the Facebook API, am I able to easily message those people interested in the topic? are there ways, Apps to do this? Any costs?

This message page suggests billions? Really . . . .? . . .  here

Do I need to use Java or PHP coding in any way?

Thanks

Headed back over there is 3 hours so hoping for some comments by them.

Neighbor has over 30 videos uploaded and all average about 45 MB each. Does FB have any overall limits as far as a total?
Those 30+ are over 2GB so do they have some overall limit like x number of TB? I'm trying to get him to use Handbrake to compress them.

He says he has never had a problem uploading his large file videos which are only 3-4 minutes until lately. He clicks on add photo/video and he is given the chance to enter the name and description and the the blue button to post. That button is no longer blue.
I was over there yesterday and I do not know what I did but I moved around from home to settings to home and other places and stumbled onto the blue button and clicked it. The upload started and it was slow and so I left. It took 2 hours and he says it gave him two copies of the same video and he is unable to delete one of them so he deleted both of them so we are starting over.

Has FB made any changes to the upload procedure in the last 30-45 days since he has not uploaded a video since then?

Friend's home page is full of what all his FB friends post of their FB page. He only wants to see on his FB page what HE post of his FB page.
He does not want to see what they post of their FB page unless and until he visits their FB page.
What setting does he use for this?

As of this AM, I'm unable to upload photos to Facebook, either in the News Feed or via my own page.

When I click in the "posting box" at the top of the News Feed,  the colored background options that usually appear don't; when I click on the nearby photo/video "lozenge" my pictures folder opens, but chosen images don't upload when I click on them.

On my own page, when I click on photo/videos I don't even get my picture folder.

I can do a walkaround by uploading photos via the photo/video album option, but this is cumbersome.

Using Firefox 53.03 in both Mac OS X and Windows 10
Am unable to post pictures in Chrome 59.0.3071.86 in Mac OS X BUT can do so in the same version of Windows 10.

Wha?

I suspect that this is an FB issue about which I can do nothing, but I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

I have multiple pages but none of my credentials are for my business page.  I have tried my various logins and they all go to the personal page.

I can get to the business page via logging into the personal page but my socialpilot s/w says I have to have the credentials for business page for it to post content to my business fb page.

How can I find out the credentials for my business page?

On Demand Webinar: Networking for the Cloud Era

Did you know SD-WANs can improve network connectivity? Check out this webinar to learn how an SD-WAN simplified, one-click tool can help you migrate and manage data in the cloud.

We have a contractor that manages some of our facebook advertising accounts.  They're afraid to grant us access to those things because they think it will give us access to see their facebook posts/etc.

Now I know we can make a stink over it, but I'm trying to avoid that since we have a good relationship with this person.  Isn't a facebook advertising account/management over it just like other tools, where admin rights can be assigned to other people by the current admin?  Can that person's privacy be respected and yet still grant us access?

I plant to start a political podcast in the near future, but want to plan ahead so it can be successful.

I have lots of questions...

- What is the ideal length? 1 hour per week? Can it vary in length based on length of the content?

- What are some good ways to promote my podcast?

- Are there any income earning opportunities from a podcast with a lot of listeners?

- What are the listenership for some of the more successful podcasts?

- What kinds of "do's" and "don'ts" are there?

I could plan to apply some budget to promotion. If Facebook the best?

Thanks.
