A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.

I'm using currently the project
https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/help/246227/sample-secumgr-exe-overrides-security-manager-for-webbrowser-host
to check if a web portal, for example http://fontello.com/, works fine with EOT, WOFF and TTF to displaying different icons.

It looks like fonts with the Content-Type application/vnd.ms-fontobject or application/font-woff could not be used with IWebBrowser2.
In the webtraffic i could see, that the app could download the fonts, but after the download i received the error E_ABORT in the IHttpNegotiate::OnResponse handler.

The web pages works in IE, but when we disable font download in the security settings we get the same 'problem' with the IE.

I tried to enable the font download in function IInternetSecurityManager::ProcessUrlAction
(URLACTION_HTML_FONT_DOWNLOAD) without a positive result.

What i'm doing wrong?

I am working with variable data and when I bring in my text (in Sinhala) which is correct in my data, it is changed as soon as it is placed in InDesign. What do I need to do in order to maintain the correct rendering of the text.

I can send you an example if you need to see what happens.

Is there something that needs to be done to add Sinhala to the World-Ready Composer?

I use the control TJvCaptionPanel from the popular JVCL Library in a Delphi 10.1 VCL Application. (The JVCL Library is a very useful library which can easily be installed with one click from the GetIt Package Manager. Precondition: JCL Library has to be installed first).

This is how it looks:

Clipboard-Image.png
As you can see, the CaptionButton JvCaptionPanel1.Buttons[capHelp] (which seems to be a SpeedButton) has a caption "?" with an UGLY font:

button-magnified.png
Unfortunately, TJvCaptionPanel does not have a property to set the caption font for the button.

Is it possible to "patch" the component TJvCaptionPanel in code and set a new font for the button without deriving a new component from TJvCaptionPanel?

There seems to be an issue when I change the font type of the announcement body (when using an announcement webpart). This is what I did:
1) Add a new announcement
2) Enter some text in the body field
3) Change the font type of the text and then change the colour
When i check the page where the announcement webpart is added (configured to summary view), the font type doesn't get updated and still remains as the default font type. After using the developer tools to check, i found that there seems to be a problem with the code when the font type is changed to font name with 2 words like "comic sans", or "lucida console". No such issue when i change the font to font name with 1 word e.g. impact, tahoma, calibri.
Some selected font types have this issue, i.e. comic sans, lucida console, basically all the font types with names that consist of 2 words.
Using the developer tools, it shows:
<span style="font-family:" lucida="" console",monaco,sans-serif;color:#ff0000;"="">testtest</span>
It seems that sharepoint automatically adds some "" to the font name and so the font type doesn't get displayed properly.

I am opening .eps files created from a CAD application that contain Helvetica.  My computer clearly has the font installed because other applications can use it and read it.  Adobe Illustrator does not see the Helvetica family nor does it show up in the list of available system fonts (within Illustrator).  The Windows/Fonts folder does show the Helvetica font.

We were recently required to purchase Calibri font for a project whereby the stakeholders were already using the latest version of Microsoft Office and wanted all the content branding to be Calibri.  It was also for Arabic/English typeface.  The Microsoft website directs font enquiries and purchases to a specific site, where we found 'Calibri' for print, ebook and web subscription.  However upon purchasing I have noted that this is a 2008 version.  There are no other versions available.   So essentially for the layperson, what are the fundamental differences between the two?  Arabic is not actually included in 2008 for one.  Thanks

Hi
We use SAP Business One in remote apps. Before we install it on a 2008 server. we makes the update for server 2012 R2.
Now the apps on 2012 first have a blue line around the windows and the fonts is a little bit smaller.

Do you know how I can change that to return as the same of 2008
Thanks

I have an Adobe Livecycle generated form, the form is hosted on an intranet, and it collects few pieces of information from users, I'm trying to add a "save as" button onto the form so that users can save, print, email the form along with the data entered, so I added a "save as" button with the relative javascript line (app.execMenuItem("SaveAs"), but when I preview it I get an error;
Save a Blank Copy of this Form, Data typed into this form will not be saved.

What's the work around and what do you recommend.

Thx

I have two Graphic Designers using the same versions of Adobe InDesign and Acrobat DC Pro. One of the users is running Windows 7 and the other Windows 10. The Windows 10 client has an issue with missing Helvitica fonts when printing PDF documents created in InDesign. If the document is printed with InDesign it comes out perfectly. The other user has no issues. Both clients are using the same driver printing to the same printer. I am assuming this is a Windows 10 issue. I am looking for a resolution without having to rebuild this client with Windows 7.

Hi Experts,
I need to print a report (in Visual Fox Pro 9) with a Font that I cannot find to download in the web. The Font name is  Font B11 and it is used in Epson Fiscal Printers. I assume they are installed in the printer driver. Any idea how can I import it from the driver and install it in the Windows/ fonts directory?
thanks a lot

We recently started using Adobe Pro and moving away from Nitro PDF due to version conflicts. Now when opening PDF files originally created in Nitro PDF the fonts do not display correctly when opened in Adobe Pro DC. As you can see in the original "UT-GLASS-BOWL-OC" the text appears correctly [This was created in Nitro PDF], and in the second file "EDITED-UT-GLASS-BOWL2" the text is almost all garbage. If you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. We have dozens if not hundreds of these files. Thank you.

We use Adobe FrameMaker 11 for our typesetting work. We need to create press-ready files to print school books mainly on science and maths. Our requirement is typesetting books in English, Bengali and other Indian languages. We need to be able to use Unicode fonts in the body text as well within equations. How can we enable support for Unicode in FM 11?
