A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.

I am having problems with fonts which work with Windows 7 but do not work with Windows 10. The main problem seems to be that the font in question is called Quay Sans - regular, italics, medium and medium italic - shows up in Windows 10 as an Arial font. In Windows 7 the fonts work perfectly.
Any help would be welcomed.

I'm looking to setup Organization wide signatures, I have exchange online, office 365/2016 fat client running windows 10 clients.

From this article:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/admin/setup/create-signatures-and-disclaimers?view=o365-worldwide

Is there a way to target only certain departments within my organization?

Is picking a custom font and option with Signatures?

Will setting up a disclaimer with this method append a signature to the fat client?

Thanks in advance

Aren't out of the box Styles in Word (2016) like

Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3

auto-updating in terms of font size?  They show themselves to be "Based on Normal"  But, I updated the Normal text size to 18.  Then, started using Heading 1 - it was just 16.  And, Heading 2 just 13.

I even went further and selected both of these with a check box "Auto Updating".

How can I get my Headings 1 ~ x default styles to update themselves in terms of Font Size in Word?

Thanks!

Hello
New Message is bold, the response is always superscripted.  these are both issues.

we cannot change the format via file > options > mail > stationary and fonts
settings do not modify or stay saved.  will prefer the old format over any changes made.
saved a new theme to stationary folder and chose the theme and still those preferences return.

how is this issue prevented?

Hello Everybody.

I'd like to know how to tag and style with css and classes etc that includes strike through text, color changes and font size change -- via css stylesheet for an html page.

Here's the graphic that my client sent me -- and now I need to use css to style it via a style sheet, compatible with modern browsers.  See how the bundle price is larger than the other font sizes.
I assume this all needs to be put into an overall div with perhaps sub divs within it.

Looking foward to your solution-- I can fine-tune the sizes once I get your css framework.

Thanks

Need to do this in regular text (not a graphic) using css in a style sheet

In Outlook, the Preview Pane fonts for Tasks cannot be altered.

From Microsoft's own help pages:

Unfortunately there is no solution as of yet.

And, on the one Macro they unenthusiastically send folks to we read, from the developer:

...unfortunately Outlook doesn't allow direct interaction with the reading pane for automated zooming.

and

People have been complaining about this on MS forums for years but MS has failed to implement this easy fix.

The text pane itself looks like it is uniquely rendered each time.  But, there has to be some kind of default value, like, 1.0?

The Subject
Due Date
Status
Owner

at the top of each one - surely these are all generated at startup.

Got to be a way.

How do you see it?

Fingers crossed and with admiration for the collective skills,

I really like the look of these sections: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/jquery/sections/magazine/  but when I add it to my page, and add their css, it destroys the basic look of my page, making the fonts much smaller.

Can I sort of section off the magazine part and have it use different css files?

I am using an iMac and apple mail.  The font size is extremely small...12.
I went into mail preferences and selected fronts and it made it possible
to change to size 18.
However, it does not retain that as a default?
How can I set the default size and type in Apple Mail?
thanks,

MS Word gives us a portrait view. Any way to get a landscape view? We have lyrics to a song and we want them at the bottom of a video. We type the first two lines and get them on one page at a nice size font of 100. But when used as an overlay on the video it covers too much of the video. If we could landscape them along the bottom then the 11 words would be on two lines horizontal instead of five lines vertical. We're using Word and Paint because those are the programs that can get us the two lines of text on a document, copy pasted to paint and saved as a jpg image and opened as an image to the video creator program. And basically the only programs that we have used for such things. Thanks.

Hi Experts,

I have set a range as an array in Excel VBA and I would like to know the font color of an array element.

How do I accomplish this? here is the code I am trying to use:

Hello expert,

There are many things I love about how Visio helps me
create graphics and UML diagrams quickly.

And there are things that drive me bat stuff crazy:
Heres one going back to 2014
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28308448/Visio-2010-Connector-connects-to-unexpected-shape.html

Another one is that it wants me to use Calibri, which I dislike. Visio will not default
to using the grand master of modern sans serif, Helvetica (or Arial).

Saw an article 'How do I create a new theme in Visio 2013?'
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-visio/how-do-i-create-a-new-theme-in-visio-2013/eb896730-509a-4cf6-bf54-c56b99468e27
but  it says to select the Variants option in the Design group. Cannot find
Variants or find anything called Variants using search in Visio.

Found ton of stuff on Visio 2010 and 2016. Only other thing I can find is
https://visualsignals.typepad.co.uk/vislog/2013/10/customizing-themes-in-visio-2013.html
This also refers to Variants.

I can create shapes and text boxes with Arial instead of Calibri  and then be very careful to only
copy existing shapes but this pretty restrictive. And if large sections of a drawing are copied into
a new drawing : Boom everything is Calibri again.

And the default is everything is this sort nasty blue with white color font. UGH!

Anyway to get off Calibri slave trail?

Thanks.

I have an PDF file that does not display some of the text when I open it. I get a warning to that effect when opening it as shown below.
I haven't been able to find and download the font in question so is there any way that I could re-name a font that I do have and use that as I don't care what the text looks like I just need to be able to read it ? would it be possible to Edit the PDF file to change the font to one that I have ?
Adobe Acrobat Error message
Thanks,  Roger

Need Glyph icons, but also fast page load times

We need various new icons and are looking here:

https://www.google.com/search?q=glyphicon+icons&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjOhbqwvIXjAhVDrVkKHX_zAbQQ_AUIECgB&biw=1528&bih=616

Can we take Glyph icons from various libraries? Is that going to cause bloat on the page?

Can we download just the icons we need into a Sprite?

What do you advise? I am pretty sure our team will like individual icons from various places...

Thanks
