A font is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font is a matched set of type, one piece (called a "sort") for each glyph, and a typeface consists of a range of fonts that share an overall design. With the advent of digital typography, font is frequently synonymous with typeface, although the two terms do not necessarily mean the same thing. In particular, the use of "vector" or "outline" fonts means that different sizes of a typeface can be dynamically generated from one design. Each style may still be in a separate "font file" -- for instance, the typeface "Futura" may include the fonts "Futura roman", "Futura italic", "Futura bold" and "Futura extended" —- but the term "font" might be applied either to one of these alone or to the whole typeface.

Hi there

I need some help with generating a code 39 (3 of 9) Barcode.
I have downloaded a number of fonts which say that they are code 39 but none of them generate the bar code I expect. Here is an example I’ve got a barcode with the number 4102360511 but when I try and replicate it using the code 39 font it looks nothing like the original barcode. Is the number encoded in anyway.

Any help you can give me would be a great help

Thanks

Hi All,

This has been asked several times before, but most of the posts are fairly old and new technology (etc..) emerges all the time.

My question is, which is the best font management program out there...

Many thanks

I have a select item on my page that is filled dynamically, each row with a string formed by concatenating many database fields.  I have taken great pains to make sure that the fields that make up the string are padded with spaces such that the fields should line up in my select list:

e.g.  The list should look like:
                My_Name        My_address      My_date of Birth        My_other_info
                Your_name     Your_address   Your_date_of_birth   Your_other_info
                His_name        His_Address     His_date_of_birth      His_other_info

The problem is that even though THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF WHITE SPACE CHARACTERS ARE BEING ADDED, the fields that comprise each row of my list don't line up:

e.g.  The list should look like:
                My_Name        My_address      My_date of Birth        My_other_info
                Your_name       Your_address   Your_date_of_birth       Your_other_info
                His_name         His_Address        His_date_of_birth      His_other_info

I believe the problem is due to the font type that my select list is using and am told that using the courier font should correct the problem.  However I am unable to change the font type of the select list.  I've tried

<font face="courier" color="red">
   <select>
   --dynamically fill my list here
   </select>
</font>

and other variations but none seem to work.  How do I change the font type of my select list?

Does anyone know where I can find the font "twizot"?  I've done a Google search and also searched www.fonts.com, but can't find it.

I'm wondering if it's part of a font pack that's for sale somewhere.  If you have "twizot" do you remember where you got it?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi, I'm trying to add a dynamic font color to a percent field.  If the percent is less than 10% I'd like the font color to be red and if its over 10, black.

I put the following expression in the font color property:
=iif(Sum(Fields!dailymarginpct.Value, "ABookedDailyMarginPct") < 10,"Red","Black")
*I tried doing the value at 10 and .10 since its a decimal value before its formatted.

However, when I try to preview the report I get the following error:
[rsInvalidBooleanConstant] The Hidden expression for the textbox ‘dailymarginpct’ has the value “”, which is not a valid Boolean value.

Anybody help me with this?

Hello Experts,

We are currently using this font here at work. You can bold text in programs such as excel and word however when you try and print them the bold will not show up. I have tried reinstalling the font and it doesn't help, I am told it used to be able to print bold fine. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Im haveing font problems on my PC running Vista,

I use suitcase 11 for windows.

In quark 7.2, only one member of a family is ever shown. For example, if I've activated 7 fonts in the same family, only one of these variations is available, and its pot luck which one.

In indesign CS, no postscript font are available.

I would also be grateful for any information of why postscripts fonts are so much cheaper than tt or ot fonts, what are their disadvantages. Is it legal to purchase postscript fonts and then use a font converter to turn them into open type?

thnx in advance
Steve

Im trying to output some database values into javascript. Its all going well but I have one awkward problem. I would like to enter a Customer name as one of the output values as well as their email address. Whenever I use the full customer name (called Full) the script fails. This name has spaces in it eg. "Simon Travis" However when I use the customer's username which never has spaces in it, the thing works fine. I suspect this is a function of the fact the the full customer name has spaces in it and the javascript is getting confused. Here is the relevant bit of code : Beneath it is the outputted javascript

Dim cstype As Type = Me.GetType()
        Dim i As Integer

        Dim popupscript As String
        Dim popupscript2 As String
        Try
            For Each dtrParent In ds.Tables("Table").Rows
                i = i + 1
                Try
                    Dim jfunction As String = "function onSmartWinEvent() {var words" & i & " = '<div ><b>" & dtrParent("USER") & "</b></div>'; marker" & i & ".openSmartWindow(words" & i & ");}"

                    Dim jmarker As String = "var marker" & i & " = new YMarker(myPoint" & i & ");"

Hi there,

Is there any font that does not get jagged when down at 12pts or smaller in Italics?  For instance, Verdana, at 12pt Italics, all the characters looked jagged.  What font can I use so that at 12pt & smaller, the characters still look smooth?  A free font would be great.

Thanks,

:)
