I am looking for articles/YouTube to introduce me to the Chromebook world so I can give the right recommendations for my clients what to buy. I've never dealt with Chromebook but since it's starting to get popular even in the business/education world any reliable source of information would be appropriated

Whenever I open up a Google Chrome tab and type in any website address I get a little error message on the lower left hand side of the screen that reads: "waiting for Google-Analytics.com" and the top has a little wheel that is going. I have cleared the cache and cookies from the browser, downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a scan (no threats) and now currently running Rogue Killer to see what happens. Need your advice please.

We use Fortinet in our organization. Our typical setup to allow a user to remote in is to install Forticlient on a laptop with remote desktop and then have them connect. We purchased a Chromebook as a test to see if we could use these for people who want to remote in as they're cheaper than a laptop.

However, the issues we're having is setting up the VPN on the Chromebook as we can't use Forinet because it's only available if you're using the management console and have quite a few Chromebooks on your domain.

Has anyone had any success using Chromebooks for a remote access and if so, can you share in detail how you got it to work?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

Hello,

How can I get a list of URLs in Excel into an HTML file to import into the Google Chrome Bookmark Manager?

After running Windows 7 for a few years, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and at the same time, upgraded to a larger C Drive.  The previous C Drive is now Drive F.

I found somewhere online that Chrome bookmarks are saved in a file called Bookmarks which resides in this folder:

      C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

I've located that file as well as the old (much larger) file in the same directory on the F Drive but now how do I merge the two?

I tried opening the smaller file with Notepad but it's a mess (ie lots of code) but then I found that by opening Chrome's Bookmark Manager and Selecting All, I could copy all the bookmarks to Excel as a nice neat list of familiar-looking URLs. But trying that process in reverse to get them merged doesn't work.

Under the Organize heading in the Bookmark Manager is an option to:

        Import bookmarks from HTML file...

so that's why I'm wondering if I can convert the Excel list of URLs to an HTML file.

Thanks

Hello Experts

I've been through several video cards, all the while thinking the problem was with the card.  However, I've installed a new card (identical to one in an identical machine) and it randomly stops working.  Usually, before it stops, the web pages I have open (Chrome Browser) no longer have a page background.  All the pages are black (not blank, but black).  Sometimes when I go to an open page, I'll get a screen full of images of the tabs at the top of a normal Chrome window.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers on every card I've tried, all with the same results.  This has been going on for a couple months (I kept thinking I knew how to fix it.  But I don't)

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks

A customer with an Acer Chromebook has problems where extra Google Chrome tabs intermittently open when Google Chrome is launched.

The laptop also exhibits sluggish behavior and takes a while while loading programs and applications.

What kind of antivirus or other programs or utilities can be used to scan and fix these issues?

Or what are some other repairs that can be done to fix this issue?

The specific problem is occurring while trying to access SharePoint from Office 365.  When you click on the tile to go to SharePoint, the browser starts a new tab and requests the page.  It looks like it is going to the page but requests it again.  It keeps doing this without ever displaying the page or getting an error.

It is only happening on one PC.  I've run AdwCleaner, RKill, Junk Removal Tool, and ComboFix.

This happens with both Firefox and Chrome.  Operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise.

How do you handle restarts for chromebooks?  From my understanding the chromebook needs to be restarted after the updates are installed. In our district students dont shut them down and half the time they dont even log out.  I see a setting in the admin console to automatically restart the chromebook after update or after a # of days.  However this does not work if public kiosk mode is disabled I am reading and we have public kiosk mode disabled.

We noticed that the Google Drive apps within the iPhone is taking up almost 3gb (see pix).  We were going to delete the apps from the iPhone and reinstall since it's size only around 100mb.

Gdappe
We decided on deleting the apps because it seems the fastest way of going about freeing up storage space in the iPhone (regarding to this apps).

That said, does deleting 'google drive' apps from our iPhone also deletes photos from google drive cloud?
(we googled for the answer but can't seem to find link that assures us it won't delete from cloud)
