I am having issues with my “Categories”  I create in outlook saving at the end of the day.   I have gone in and created New categories and renamed existing categories but when I exit at night and log back in the next day, the categories are back to default and the new ones I create are no longer there.  

The strange thing is, when I use the “organize” feature and it puts the categorized emails into my “Categorized Mail” search folder, the emails show up there the next day and they are categorized, but the color coding is gone.  Once I clear a category of it’s items the category goes away and is no longer available.

it is unable to send external emails, but it is able to receive external emails

I'm trying to send an email to the All_Office distribution list.  Looking at Address Book details, its true name is All_Office@Company.com

I get as a result: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: No such recipient

As far as I know its a normal Distribution List (although I wouldn't know how to check).  The same method works fine for normal addresses.

Any idea what's up?

I'm looking for some free or reasonably priced web conferencing software.

These are my requirements:
MUST have:
 - SCREEN SHARING with these capabilities:
   - Be able to show entire screen, a selected portion, just one app/window
   - Be able to pass the presentation/screen sharing capability to any participant
 - Ability for room to be on at all times even without anyone in it
 - VOIP with these capabilities:
   - Moderator able to mute anyone to prevent all participants from hearing them
   - Each participant able to mute any other participants
   - Participants able to use push-To-Talk or Voice Activated
   - Multiple participants able to speak at the same time (even talking over each other in case it happens)
 - Text Chat
 - VIDEO with these capabilities:
   - Moderator able to  turn any participants camera on/off to prevent all participants from seeing them
   - Each participant able to select any other participants to watch
   - Each participant able to turn their own camera on/off
   - Ability to see multiple cameras on the screen at one time
Architecture:
    - Be server based (ie client-server as opposed to peer-to-peer as I don't want to have 50 people sucking up the upload bandwidth of the participant currently doing the screen-sharing)
    - Be able to have at least 10 participants on at one time
 - SECURITY:
    - Individual userids and passwords
    - Group/Room userid/password

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 (SP2) Enterprise Edition with Novell GroupWise 8 providing email and instant messaging. Upon startup the "x86 NDS Server.CN=SERVERNAME"... service is not running and will not start. This is preventing the Groupwise messenger and the Console One tool from opening.

Complicating matters, this server is also burdened with Terminal Services and is, as such, also running the clients for the Novell products. Therefore when users login to terminal services they are prompted with the Novell logon which will eventually time out when it cannot contact the server. Aside from this email continues to flow in and out normally, but we are prevented from making any configuration changes until this is sorted.

Our background with Novell products is very limited and online documentation for their products is scarce, but we need to know: Why is this service failing to start? What can be done to start it?

Hi, I have a very odd problem going on in Outlook 2003 connecting to Exchange 2010 (SBS 2011). When some users create contacts, initially it is saved fine and shows up in the contacts list. Then, after about 2 minutes the contact seems to disappear--it doesn't actually disappear though. What happens is the "File As:" field is somehow removed, so the contact is sorted before any of the others with a blank label. The "File As" field is what is shown in bold as the name in, say, the Address Cards view.

I have started Outlook with the /safe and the /cleanprofile switches. I've turned off all Add-Ins. Still happens. I create a new contact, wait a couple minutes, then contact is re-sorted and nothing shows up in the "File As" field. I can open the contact and there's stuff in "File As" field, so I can change it--this saves it, then a minute later deleted again!

I have tried this also in a new Outlook profile that I created and logged into for the first time for testing. Problem persists.

So, a very weird error. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or what the issue may be?

Is there an option for auto-reply from distribution list email directly? In other words, is it possible to do option 1 below...

option 1 - set it up as a distribution group on ConsoleOne. not sure if this method can support auto-reply

option 2 - set it up as a mailbox with a rule to forward mails received. Auto-reply can be setup via another rule

After Retrieving system address book I see all the users email addresses under the address book selector.  5 to 10 minutes later they disappear again but only in caching mode in GroupWise 8.

The issue that we are experiencing is that employees cannot view appointments that others have created in a shared Public Folder calendar.  The two employees that reported the issue both have owner permissions to the calendar.  Below are the details:
-We are on Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007
-We have 1 public folder store that is stored on an Exchange 2007 server that is clustered.
-Both employees have owner on the calendar.
-The appointments cannot be viewed from the Outlook 2007 client or from OWA.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Does any know if there is a good tool that we can use to archive groupwise email accounts(past employees) to a pst file ? We are not moving to exchange yet but we want an easy way if we need too. To browser users old emails and we think having a pst would be best ? So we are looking into a tool that can do this for us and so far google has not been much help.

I have a user who is modifying an existing reoccurring meeting in Outlook 2007.  The user is updating the body of the reoccurring appt with a new meeting URL for WebEx.  This reoccurring meeting contains 7 individual recipients.  When the user saves the reoccurring meeting,  every recipient gets 18+ emails each for a different day in the reoccurring meeting .  How can we prevent each user from getting this many e-mails when a single change is made to a single reoccurring appointment?

Any ideas?

When an outside vendor send email to us, We receive the signature in the email as attachments.
although the vendor report only this issue appear at our organization.

When external user replay to any email sent from out domain (xyz.com.kw) we recive the domain address with deferent format (userid.postoffice.domain@xyz.com.kw)
althought our domain address is userid@xyz.com.kw.

One of my clients needs to upgrade Groupwise 7 to 8.02 Up2 because of the IMAP LIST LSUB vulnerability. However they are migrating to Exchange 2010 in December so they only want to do what's necessary and they don't want to retrain 1500 users even a little only to do it again in December. My questions are: 1. Will Webaccess 7 work with Groupwise MTA/POA 8?, 2. If not and we upgrade the Webaccess to 8 will there be a problem if a user accesses their mailbox with Webaccess 8 and it triggers a users db upgrade and then accesses it with the GW 7 client?

Dear EE Experts,

I would like to ask for web support in regarding to web application that we would like to revise... We've downloaded the VCalendar web application for ASP. Followed it's instructions on how to install and deploy. It's working smoothly, but the only problem with this application is you can't create or specify a resource, so if 1 user made the reservation already for this resource, the other users can still make reservation conflict with the first reservation. It doesn't lock for the first reservation.
So, are there any other suggestions or advise on how to do or if there are any free web applications for Room and Equipment reservation that will not conflict the reservations of users?

We have a XP PC running Outlook 2003, the user's mailbox is over 7GB. "Exchange Cache mode" is NOT enabled.  The server is Exchange 2003.
There are 3 rules. Sometimes all of them stopped working, sometimes one or two of them stopped working. I noticed that the rule(s) could be uncheck for no reason when stopped working. I put the check mark(s) back, usually this fixed the problem.

Any ideas?

I'm configuring HA BizTalk system which is made of 4 servers. SQL 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 64 bit failover cluster and 2 BizTalk servers on Windows 2008 64 bit failover cluster.

I need failover cluster  and not NLB solution for BizTalk on the count of doubling messages vi MSMQ and FTP  adapter.

I have two questions:
1. We need to interact with websphere MQ server which already exist. While installing BizTalk MQ agent is grayed out even if i install MQ 7.0.1 client. Now, if I install MQ server then MQ agent is available for selection during BizTalk installation but this is something I don't want to do as server is installed on another host and it's already in use. How to enable BizTalk to interact with MQ, how to instal MQ agent?

2. As prereqs I have installed Sharepoint 2010 Foundation on both nodes and befor configuring BizTalk I know I have to configure Sharepoint itself which is fine.
a) Does this means that BizTalk will be able to interact with only this (Local) installation of SF2010 or BizTalk just uses it to as a processor in handling messages through adapter.
b) Is it neccesery to setup failover clustering of SF2010.

Of course, deadline is approaching so help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

We have a user received promotion 3 months before. His title is still showing old while the outlook contact details are properly changed. This happenes to only this particular user and sysnc works perfectly for other users. In ocs if we check his details shows his old position while if we double click the same the outlook contact details pop up and its showing correct vales.

Two weeks befoere we tried deleting this user from OCS (only OCS attributes)and recreating but the same result. As I read OCS should be synchronizing with Exchange information but for this user Exchange info is updated. We are running on OCS 2007 R2.

We are migrating from Groupwise 7.03 to Outlook 2010 without a 3rd party tool.
When we copy or move the folders from Groupwise 7.03 to Outlook 2010 SP1 public folder- the dates of all emails are changed to the current date.  Is there a way to retain the original email date or has anyone ever seen this issue?

Just setup a new instance of Sharepoint 2010. My search results for my clients are returning things they don't have access to. They select the library or document and they get an access denied but I don't want them to see everything. As I understand it Sharepoint should do this.

So far i have checked the default crawl account and given it "read" permissions.
I have also implemented the following fix. I'm not sure if it is relevant.

I recently used a script written by the previous sys admin to change a username of an existing horde user.  Now that it has finished, I can see the inbox with the new username but none of the subfolders.  I have reconstructed the mailbox and all of the folders get processed but they still don't show up using Horde's email client.  The folders DO exist on disk.

If I try to create a folder using the same name as a folder that exists but doesn't display using Horde's email client I get the following error message, "The folder 'foldername' was not created. This is what the server said: Mailbox already exists".  And no folder is displayed.

I've tried using Thunderbird and get the same results.  In Thunderbird, if I try to recreate a folder with the same name as one of the folders that exist on disk, the Create Folder window just disappears quietly and no folder is created.

Horde is running on RHEL5.5.  I'm not very familiar with Horde and am not certain of the version.  There is a file called "horde-3.3.6/INSTALL", but when I click Help in the Horde email client I see the following in the upper-right corner, "IMP H3 (4.3.6)"

We are migrating from GroupWise. In GroupWise you can view the properties of a sent item by right-clicking and Selecting Properties . The Properties  showed what time the email was delivered , when the recipient read the email.  I see the delivery report but I can't find how you know when or if email was read. Is this available in Outlook 2010?

I have a blog site created in SharePoint 2007. I have a post on this blog where users are allowed to post questions and get replies. However my requirement is that this post/reply should be enabled only for 2 hours in a day, let's say from 11:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M. and the rest of the day the users should not be able to send any posts/queries/questions etc.



What shall I do in SharePoint 2007 to achieve the same?
