We have VMware ESXi 6.7 Update 2 installed in HP Gen 9 server, that contains a virtual machine, with enough hardware resources (CPU/RAM...). But this virtual machine reboots spontaneously/unexpectedly and does not have any operating system error. Which means it might be a VMware problem regarding that virtual machine.
I precize, we do not have any HA or FT configured. Just a vCenter that manages couple of standalone hosts (no cluster).

In the operating system of that VM which is Windows Server 2016, i just find error messages (6008: unexpected restarts).
Which means the it might be a hypervisor problem.. for that, i tried to migrate that vm to another Host, but always same problem, unexpected restarts...

When i tried to see virtual machine logs, i did not find anything valuable that might help (vmware.log). And same thing in vmkernel.log or vmkwarning.log.. (vm name is VM01)
I wonder where i should look too. any idea please?
Thank you in advance,

I am having trouble with webcam on Lenovo T580.
The camera starts for a second, then freezes.

1)What is the name of the webcam? (I go to Device Manager>Cameras >Integrated Camera (I can not see the name of it; it is just "integrated camera")
2) How to get the driver of this Camera? (I believe by installing the driver would solve the problem)

If you have any responsibilities for managing the ICT budget for your organisations, can you share any examples of lessons learned on areas you may have identified or any honest 'mistakes made' where your company was perhaps wasting money.

We have a risk/audit team who do a lot of good focus on cyber security, data protection etc, but some other issues have come to light in recent years where money was being wasted due to poor asset management/monitoring processes (i.e. smartphones that were not even being used by the person given them), which got me thinking what other common mistakes could be being made which may be worth delving further into as part of their cycle of reviews.

Not overly sure what category to add this to so gone with a broad area as I know a lot of participants in these areas often seem to have senior titles in their profiles so may be involved in this type of area or report directly to others who do.
Hello everyone!
I hope all of you are well and staying safe!
I have a problem that I think is related to my video card but I'm stumped.
First, my PC Specs:
•      HP Envy Phoenix 800
•      64Bit Win 10 PRO version 1903
•      Intel Corei7-3820 @3.60GHz
•      32GB RAM
•      VisionTek Radeon 7750 2GB GDDR5 6M (6x MiniDP) – 900614
•      6- 24” Dell monitors

I'll start with the problems I'm having.
-When playing videos of any kind I get some "stuttering" on the sound and image. I've uploaded a video of what I mean. This happens across all browsers and all video services (YouTube, Comcast stream, nbc site, etc.)

-The computer also seems to be affected with the mouse skipping as I move it over the screen/s (I have multiple). this happens sporadically. Mouse clicks won’t register and the PC seems to be getting “stuck/unstuck” various times in quick succession (if that makes sense). When it gets really bad I have to reboot and then things are normal again for a period of time and the mouse issue ( and others) seems to go away but the video problems are always happening.

-When this problem happens I also have an issue with the keyboard stuttering as well when used. For example if I want to type "My car is is black" it'll come out "Myyyyyyyyy Car iiiiis Bk"

-When this happens I also see delayed on the computer responding to certain commands as I interact with it. for example I'll be typing a letter (word) and I'll type a whole sentence out and it'll stop at the beginning of the sentence …
Sometimes I work from a different room and don't want to hold my Samsung S8 cell phone when talking to someone.

What under $100 external microphone and speakers do you recommend without VIDEO ?

I am OK with something like https://www.walmart.com/ip/Microphone-Mic-Perfect-Youtube-Interview-Video-Clip-Tie-Lavalier-Clip-on-Condenser-Omnidirectional-Recording-Conference-Podcast-Voice-Dictation-iPhone/581467735, but would like something better.
I lost the instructions to my mouse and I would like to know how to get my mouse working again.
Which button does what?

Any idea?

I currently have a server running server 2016 with two guest VM's also running - a 2016 DC and a Member server running exchange 2016.

I now have a new server running Server 2019 and wanted to move my Exchange server to the new host.

I did the following:

1. Powered off Exchange
2. Copied both the System VHD and the Database VHD to the new host
3. Created a new Virtual machine using the same MAC address it had previously and made the both drives had the same letter.
4. Booted the VM up and it did say it was configuring new hardware.

When I logged in it all seemed ok, albeit a tad slow but the Ethernet card was not present. There was an unidentified item in Device manager which are 3 attempts it did installed the network card but failed to show in network connections.

My questions are - should you be able to just move a VM from 2016 to 2019? Did I miss any steps? I was quite careful in the process to move over a VM.

Any thoughts or tips that might help will be much appreciated

Thank you.
I have a Sound Blaster Z installed in my computer and have connected the orange, black and green out to the Logitech inputs.   When I test the speakers using the Sound Blaster Speaker Setup and try to test the 5.1 configuration, only the two front speakers emit sound.   I am using Windows 10 Pro.
Surface Pro 3 fully updated.

Every few seconds, say about 10 seconds, the mouse pointer jumps to one specific pixel when I'm in the middle of working, which takes the focus away from what I'm doing. I know it's a specific pixel because, when this happens, the faded grey circle (like when someone uses touchscreen) is shown on that pixel. Interestingly, the pixel has the same aspect ratio as the screen itself - it's two-thirds of the way across the screen, and two-thirds of the way up as well. I've tried calibrating the screen but no joy.

This is so annoying that I've had to disable the 'HID-compliant touch screen' device in Device Manager, but of course this just switches off the touch-screen entirely.

This first happened a few months ago, and I hoped that it would get fixed in a future Windows 10 cumulative update or future update. It's had both of these but the problem remains so far.

Any ideas?
I would not normally beg for a device driver, being that we see enough of that already -- but this is a difficult case.

I have here two Samsung UF80-ST (identical to the UF80-DX except for the backlight) digital presenters donated to the local ham radio club.  Both are working.  They output DVI, VGA and correctly present themselves to a host PC on USB.

Samsung UF80
Unfortunately, Windows does not recognize them as video input devices.  I assume that the drivers are needed.

I can not locate Windows drivers or the original support CD.  The manual refers to a support site which is now cybersquatted.  Samsung does not have the support software on any of their sites.  I've goofled 30 pages of search without productive results.  There are "We have your drivers" hits but all of them are shady "install our software and we'll solve your driver problem" sites.

Is there a chance that some expert's IT or AV department has the support CD and could image an ISO file from it?
My engineer client is looking to replace paper commenting & drawing mark ups with digital replacement.

They're considering marking up a pdf. But, using a mouse to draw in Acrobat is a pain. So, I think a good solution would be a digital pen and or tablet.

Maybe something like this: XP-PEN Deco 01 V2 10x6.25 Inch Digital Graphics Drawing Tablet Drawing Pen Tablet

If you've experienced using any pen/tablet input devices or have anything useful to say about it, I'd appreciate your comments - hardware brand, pros, cons, etc.

Hi Experts,

I just cloned the 256 GB SSD on my Microsoft Surface Pro to a new Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 also with 256 GB SSD, using Casper.

The problem I now have is that the alphanumeric keys on the Surface Laptop are inactive.
(I do know that the Power and F4 keys on the keyboard are working prior to bootup.)

I am getting by with an external keyboard.

I have looked at Device Manager.
I have updated drivers for all "Other Devices".
Under Keyboards there are 4 items, all are "HID Keyboard Device".
I have clicked "Update driver" for all 4 items, but no changes.

I am trying to lower the cost on the first item in this parts list.

My first thought was that there might be something plastic that I could order in quantities of 100 that would fit this bill, but I seem unable to find such an item. Assistance in lowering the per unit cost of this or any other item in this list is is greatly appreciated.

Hi all can someone show me where I can confirm for sure how many concurrent licenses a Cyberoam CR25iNG - 10.6.6 MR-2 firewall can hold?  I found the licensing and it doesn't tell me squat.  If I click on system then maintenance and licensing it gives me the model CR25iNG (C06615145344-9YTFZU).  If I click synchronize it syncs however does not show how many licenses there are.   If I add a user to the VPN it lets me but doesn't tell me what the concurrent limit is at.   Any help is appreciated.
I have a dell poweredge server And was sent some pictures of a problem that occurred a few moments ago. It looks like the boot device has a problem. The following images were sent to me. Before I go on site, is there any advice you experts have for me looking at the screenshots. I am guessing that I need to reset something in the bios.  This is a windows 2012 server box

What kinds of security features are typically available with modern NAS storage devices, e.g. what are some of the more common controls to make your NAS device and the data held on it as secure as possible. Obviously is a different beast to say a VM Windows Server but there must be some consistency in terms of logical security controls to put in place regardless of make/model.
Can file shredders (like LSoft ZDelete) properly shred files on a logical drive on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system using a Hardware Raid controller (Dell PERC H700) configured for Raid 5?

I'm not looking to Wipe the whole drive(s), I want to shred individual files and have the system still work.

If not all shredders will work properly on logical raid drives, does anyone know one that will?
Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have an ineo SSD/HDD clone docking station which is not working properly.  As per the instructions of cloning, the documentation indicates to press the Copy button on the front panel and hold it in until all 4 LED lights are blinking green.  Unfortunately, none of the 4 LED lights ever come on.  In addition, the lights for Source and Target which correspond to their respective slots come on only when the power chord is wiggled some.  I have reached out to the company, ineo, regarding this technical issue a few days ago, but, have not received any response.  That said, does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas which might help in getting the 4 LED lights (the ones corresponding to 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% complete) when pressing in the Copy button?  If not, could someone personally recommend an equivalent SSD/HDD clone docking station which is not manufactured by ineo?

Any feedback given here will be greatly appreciated.  I am anxious to get my 500 GB laptop hard drive cloned to my 1 TB drive because it is gradually running out of space.  Just in case it is needed for further technical review, here is an Amazon link to what I have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073W4YDFQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you in advance for any help given.

I have an extra hardrive and I accidently clickED on MAKE PARTITION AS ACTIVE. Now when my PC boots up, it boots up to that hardrive and it says no OS is present. I had to unplug that drive so that it can load from my main hardrive. It looks like the MAKE PARTITION AS ACTIVE is greyed out so I could not reset. How do I fix this? Thanks
Hi Experts!

Does anyone know of a tool or script that can scan the domain and list the hardware connected and users logged on to it?
We have an inventory sheet with a list of users and hardware assigned that we need to keep updated, but typically what happens users leave the company and do not return their laptops (usually kept in their drawer or given to a colleague or handed to the group admin who the reissues to a new starter) I've just started there, so just need to keep track of who's got what :)

Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Cheers M.
HP EliteDesk 800 G2 mini automatically powers up after shut down.  Is there a way to disable this.  I've seen answers on two different forums, but neither works.
Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

This weekend I plan on digitally cloning my 500 GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to a 1 TB Solid State Drive (SSD) which brings me to the crux of this question.  I am wondering what digital cloning tool I can use which would be independent of any laptop hookup and data back software.  The digital cloning tool which I own, but have not used yet, is this one located at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073W4YDFQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  Given the specs of this instrument, I am wondering if it can be used to clone my laptop's 500 GB HDD to a blank 1 TB SSD.   In my own personal opinion, I believe I can use it to accomplish this goal, but, I am uncertain.

Thanks in advance for any feedback given to this question.

Hi USB Experts,

I'd like to know how to work out whether a device will work with a USB OTG cable, or a standard USB cable, or either.

a) To access a USB flash drive from my Samsung J7 (2016) cell phone, I use a USB OTG cable.  It has USB micro at the phone end, and USB-A female at the flash drive end.
b) On the other hand, to access a USB flash drive from my laptop or desktop PC, I use a non-OTG USB cable.  It has USB-A male at the PC end, and USB-A female at the flash drive end.

Now I have a Microsoft Surface Go, which runs Windows 10, and I think is a cross between a laptop and a tablet.  If you remove the keyboard it's more like a tablet.  It has a USB-C connector.

Q1. Can I access USB devices like flash drives from the Surface Go via a OTG cable, non-OTG cable, or either?
Q2. How do you know?
Q3. What's the principle which allows us to decide?
Q4. Would the answers be the same for USB hubs?

Please answer Q1 - Q4 separately for clarity.  I don't just want an answer to Q1.

I've had a quick look at this Wikipedia page about USB On-The-Go, but I haven't yet found anything that answers my question.  I understand that a USB OTG cable turns a device like a phone or tablet into a host, but I don't see how that's answering my question for the Surface Go, for example.  Is it already a host?  How can I know?

I've seen some USB cables and hubs …
