Hi,

I have a Gigabyte 6th gen LGA1151 motherboard.

Is intel's to be launched 8th gen desktop processors compatible with 6th gen LGA1151 motherboards.

It would be helpful if you folks can provide me some URLs to refer to for motherboard compatibility for the to be launched Intel's 8th gen desktop processors.

Thanks and Regards,
Sriram.

Are there any tracks of education whether it be just video series or a certification for proper imaging techniques with various programs? The reason for this is my experience with the situation is we have used Paragon and Acronis in the past for file retrieval but have had serious issues with re-imaging a device for quality testing. Most fail to load whether it be incompatible hardware or bad archive files. I need to personally get a grip on understanding the techniques to secure myself and future clients with a reliable process and I don't want to half ass it. Sadly enough I do not have higher up technicians available at my current place of employment I can learn from and need to set the tone for this. Has any of you encountered these issues before and how/where did you find solutions?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, so my 4 drive hardware backplane or RAID card is experiencing a failure, two ports are malfunctioning which caused the RAID to go in degraded state and cause a passthrough disk to fail.  SeaTools didn't find anything wrong with the drive, so I narrowed it down to either the RAID card, the cables, or the backplane, so yeah, rather than spend a lot of time with trial and error, I thought it might be worthwhile to replace all 3 components and try a different setup.

My existing Hyper-V setup involves two RAID arrays on separate cards, a RAID-5 (Areca ARC-1210) and a RAID-1 (Areca ARC-1200).  Both arrays are using Seagate Constellation drives.  The hypervisor boot drive is a standalone disk.  The RAID-1 is used for boot VHDs and RAID-5 used for Data VHDs.  So what I am looking at is replacing my current Areca ARC-1210 with an ARC-1220 which would get me 8 ports.  This would be enough to setup two RAID-5 arrays on the card and then I could stripe them in Windows Disk Management for RAID50.  I already have the six hard drives needed for this.

Let me be clear this is not a production environment, this is just a home lab.  Are there any pitfalls to look out for using RAID-50 with VHDs besides losing two drives on one array?  I don't have enough slots in the case to do RAID-60 and RAID-10 would leave me short on disk space.

Hello, I recently purchased a used Sony VAIO VPCSE1CGX laptop to replace my old one, which the motherboard recently fried in due to an unfortunate run in with a water bottle. However, this used one I purchased was physically in better shape than mine, and so I just transferred my hard drive, backed up my data, and did a clean install using the Sony recovery software off a USB flash drive, completely erasing all data on the current drive and restoring it. When I restored, I noticed the sound did not function thru internal speakers, the headphone jack, nor did it function even when using an HDMI cable to a known good TV and using a known good cable. I then attempted to reinstall a clean blank copy of Win 7 without the recovery stuff, just in case the model was slightly different on this one. However, even after painstakingly updating everything, no such luck. The audio drivers appear to update successfully and there are no hardware issues reported. When I do sound tests, the windows Mixer shows level being sent to the audio channels but nothing is heard. i physically took the computer apart to look for loose or missing cables and ribbons, but everything is there and seated well. I'm stumped. Usually if there is some sort of sound card physical issues on the built in board, I thought the HDMI would at least work. Am I wrong here? Thanks!

I bought this vehicle a month ago. Before that I have 2015 RAM 1500 Pickup truck and this truck gave me a very good average miles on highway. The new GMC burn gas like a hell I feel that it might given me under 10 miles a gallon. Do I need to take it back to the dealer?

Bubbles move from the bottom to top making an click impossible. I have disabled the touch screen and it works fine after that but as soon as we reboot it enables again. I need a permanent solution to turn off touch. I've done a lot of trouble shooting with no luck.

Right click Start and select Device Manager,
Expand Human Interface Devices,
Right click HID-compliant touchscreen,
Select Disable device.

Problem is it enables at reboot.

I also Factory restored to see if it was software and same issue. So I think the hardware is bad. Now can I unplug touch? Or is this a whole part replacement? Warranty of course is over so no help from HP. Seems to be a common issue of recent that has plenty of forum requests but no other solutions available then disable in Device Manger (again a temp solution)...

Thanks

Hello,
I have a Dell T5500 Precision workstation that wont boot up and emits a clicking noise unless power cord is pulled from the receptacle. I did upgrade the hard drive a few years ago with a Samsung SSD 840 EVO hard drive. The machine I bought in 2010 and the hard drive and some additional memory was the only upgrades I made. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed? Could it be the power supply? or the hard drive? My data is backed onsite so I can recover. But I would be surprised if the hard drive is the problem considering its not that old and it is a solid state drive. TIA Fred

i know the usb 3 drive docks
my question is : is there anything faster on the market?
or is sata speed comparable to USB 3

Well, the question title says it all, but what I am looking for are these features:

- Fast
- Software independant (hardware cloning, the device needs to do the job)
- Clone to a smaller sized disk (if the amount of data on the source disk allows it, does not exceed the target disk total size)

I have seen devices like Sandberg Diskcloner / Sharkoon Quickport XT Duo Clone and Icy Box Clonestation.

No idea what to expect, anyone any experience?

Thank you

Everything worked fine until a Windows update installed the other day and then no audio.  Looking at Playback devices show none present.  Device manager shows the Audio device installed with drivers from 7/27/17, but no roll back drivers available.   Uninstalling the device and detecting new devices produces the same driver and same result.  Looking up the hardware ID leads me to Analog Devices which has no driver updates and directs users to Conexant (Who also has no drivers I can find).  Dell has no drivers available beyond Windows 7.

I have a unique situation. The legal department from my employer is requiring that I get a signed "Attestation of Compliance" document from my service provider.  I have a dedicated server in which my host is basically providing me the hardware, but all set up, security, user accounts, etc. are under my control.

The host is saying they won't sign an AOC because the only thing they control is the physical access to the machine (Items 7-10 of requirements). That makes sense to me. Why should they put themselves at risk for compliance when I have most of the control of vulnerabilities on the server.

Does anybody know of a hosting provider that would in fact provide an AOC for a service provider? Or of a work around for this?

Thanks.

I need to be able to reset a Motorola (Brocade) AP 650 Access point back to factory defaults. I've tried the Motorola AP Discovery Tool, and it has errors and does not work. Any ideas would be helpful. Only have to support these APs for about 1 more year. I do NOT know the IP address of the AP's but I do know the zero config for layer 2.

Again any ideas would be helpful. Thank you

I am converting a garage into a room I will use for combination purposes.  Mostly it will be a home cinema. But as an ICT  business owner I will use it the odd time as a meeting room where I will be using MS Office, the Internet, etc. I will also use it as a training room as I train people but only once in a while. 15% meetings. 15% training. 70% Home Cinema. I have ordered the new & relatively low cost 4k Projector  Optoma UHD 65 plus a Motorised Screen for approx  $/€ 3,500.  However, I am becoming confused if I should just have ordered a 75" TV.  I can no longer see the benefit of a projector other than that the motorised screen will roll up revealing a Dry Erase board or a smart board,  as wall real estate is scarce that might be handy. I could also get a larger display, but I could live without that.  However a flat screen TV would be more compact,  might provide far more features on its remote control than a projector would,  has a better quality display, no consumables, doesn't need the room to be darkened etc.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Robbie.

trying to help a neighbor. they have speakers in the ceiling and walls.  they have a control4 system and everything was working supposedly.  They got a new 80" TV and put it up themselves. now they don't have audio through the external speakers.

I know computers. Not much of audio... or at least not on this level.

They have the FIOS cable box feed an Integra audio / video receiver.  The video comes through to tv. No audio through external speakers.

If you run the HDMI right to the TV, you get audio through TV speakers. (so a problem with integra receiver it seems).

I moved the speakers to a Denon audio / video receiver and got audio through the external speakers. so that's good, but switching between cable box / dvd player is a bit of a chore, at least with this dial selector on the denon.

Is theere a simple way to get the external speakers working with the TV and the input devices?!

Hi folks: My client has an HP Designjet T770 plotter that is experiencing random print quality issues. ie. a page may print with horizontal banding (light and dark sections), yet printing the same page a few hours or a day later works just fine. One other issue is that certain PDF files will print only the top six inches, then the print job will restart and print the top six inches only again ... this continues until the unit is power cycled off - you cannot cancel the print job from the print queue.

Client is using Windows 10 Professional, one system had the driver installed from Windows 10, another system had the driver downloaded from HP directly and installed - both systems experience the same printing issues.

Previously the client had been using Windows 7 Professional with no issues, but recently upgraded all systems.

HP tech support said that the product has reached end of life support and that HP will no longer provide any hardware or software support - then they hung up!

I suspect it may be a print head issue, but I would think that it wouldn't happen randomly ... ie. some jobs print fine, others not so much.

Any suggestions assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Dave Melnyk

I am looking for advice as to what software and camera(s) can be used to create an image on a PC screen of a chair (for example).
The image on the screen should be able to be rotated in real time by operation of a slider control or mouse as if the
chair were on a turn-table and the turn-table was being rotated. The image would reveal a  view from every angle of rotation.
I imagine that a 3D camera would be needed and that a minimum of 3 "pictures" would need to be taken, the pictures then somehow would be "stitched" together and viewed with a viewer.
I am a Windows C++ application programmer with little or no experience and a very modest budget for this  kind of software, hardware or terminology and would appreciate some general information as to what Windows software or hardware is needed.
I am not seeking information on Game programming as such although I imagine there is some relevant information to be gained from that topic area.

It is currently acting as a file server and Exchange email server and running on old hardware.  Is there anything I need to look out for in terms of functionality and/or licensing?  I plan to virtualize on a new Dell server running Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V.

Despite power cycle the 2 month old printer (with its ink cartridges still half full &
I've tried swapping new cartridges), both color plus B&W  printing & photocopying
gives out blank papers.

Besides bringing to Brother service centre which is going to take me a lot of time
& leaving the printer behind & have to make another trip to collect, anyone can
give any tip on how to fix this?

There's no error on the LCD & both my Mac & Thinkpad  shows printing completed
without error.  I'm using the usual paper & original USB cable that comes with it

We are about to upgrade to a new server.  It is going to be 2016 Standard Domain Controller.  We have about 40 users, 30 PC's, and 5 printers shared off this.  It is also used for file storage for about 300GB's worth of data.

My question is, do I need to worry so much about Core count, cache, or hyperthreading if it's just doing those tasks with no extra software installed except Antivirus?  Of course I want it to be fast and not just optimal but I don't want to overkill it.

The specs I'm looking at are:
Mix use solid state drives (raid 10)
Intel E5-2620 v4 2.1GHZ, 20M Cache, 6.40GT/s QPI, Turbo, HT, 8C/16T
32GB RAM
