HttpUnhandledException httpUnhandledException = new HttpUnhandledException(Server.GetLastError().Message, Server.GetLastError());

Application["Exception"] = HttpContext.Current.Server.GetLastError();

Application["actualerrorpage"] = httpUnhandledException.GetHtmlErrorMessage();

Application["errortime"] = DateTime.Now.ToLocalTime().ToString();

Application["errorurl"] = Request.Url.AbsoluteUri.ToString();

Application["browser"] = Request.Browser.Browser.ToString() + " ( " + Request.Browser.Type.ToString() + " )";

Application["clientip"] = Request.UserHostAddress.ToString();

if (Request.UrlReferrer != null)

{

Setting a remember me or remember password, makes our lives easy as we don't have to type password each and every time we visit that website. But this doesn't only make our lives easy but also hackers or just ordinary people who may had always wanted to get let say your www.aaa.com password, but just because you have set a remember password, someone might come visit that website and click login so the login form will appear.

Once the login appear because your browser knows your credentials for that website it will load it and fill the fields. Yes the password can't be copied in that stage in that format which is dotted but by just right clicking the password element and select Inspect element and on the Inspector panel change the element type from password to text like this change
type="password"

Open in new window

to
type="text"

Open in new window

and press enter don't refresh the page but now just look at the password element you will notice that it has changed from ...... (dotted) to plain text and you can see what the password is, can now copy the password.

Once you know or have copied the password you can login in to that website even on any device or browser. This is a problem indeed because it means even if we do want to let the browser remember our passwords but other people will be able to see it so what could be the solution to those who want the browser to remember their password?

Good news is that there is a solution which can be used by web developers for …

4 Important SEO Steps for Every Small Business Website

SEO can seem like a daunting process for many small business owners. You may not be sure what the most important SEO steps are for you to take. That depends upon your business’ goals, however, we do think that these 5 important SEO steps can help every small business.

Up the +1 and Like – Lots of small businesses use WordPress plugins and Facebook content boxes and such to make their blog posts easier. With the emphasis that search engines are placing on social signals, one way to get even more social juice is to add the native Google +1 button and the native Facebook Like or Share button to the main or secondary header sections on every page of your site. This way you can increase the odds of your homepage and other core pages accumulating more social signals over time. It’s easy to add this content to your webpages. You can get the code for the Google +1 button and Facebook button by clicking on the appropriate links.

Embed larger images. This isn’t technically an SEO move, but it can add to better engagement on social networks which will help your SEO. In fact, social signals are becoming crucial to improve your SEO. A recent Facebook redesign places a lot of emphasis on images on pages by displaying them fully across a post – if they meet certain size guidelines. With web development field reaching new apex each day, there’s a colossal of talent you can find online. There are outsourcing companies who hire a freelance web developer and then there are big corporations that are constantly in a quest to find a web developer who can deal with constant technical upgradations.

If you’re also thinking to kickstart your career in the development field as a junior web developer in any startup or large organization, then you must learn some significant basics of the field, that might help you land at the perfect place. Here are some fundamental tips for you:

  • Writing the code that will finally become the interface using a web page with a variety and combination of different markup formats.
  • Having the ability to bring a web site creation tool such as WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or another and assemble a fully operational web site from scratch.
  • Be in a position to rapidly and professionally produce website/webpage mockups and prototypes to show potential clients what you can offer.
  • Know HTML and CMS, in the least. However, there are lots of different programming languages, and more are being developed all the time. In this aspect, it's a never-ending development.
  • Create websites and online software which are both functional and appealing. In fairness, this can be a set of responsibilities whose difficulty will inverse as time goes on. Especially, the"operational" part will seem more difficult in the beginning whereas the"attractive" condition will seem simple. However, as soon as you have learned the fundamentals and observed all there is to see, the "practical" requirement to get a site will look comparatively easy, but coming up with a distinctive design that is attractive will look far more daunting.
  • Maintain and upgrade the websites you've created. This is one of the easier responsibilities.

Trust me, there are colossal of companies in quest to hire web developers, and you can become the right candidate in weeks. Happy Developing :) See you on the other side.

July 2017 - Course of the Month at Experts Exchange

I almost didn't sign up for this months "course of the month" because at first glance, the title
"HTML5 Specialist - Certification" made it look like the content was sure to be way over my head.  Not so!

I decided to take a look at it anyway and am now glad I did.  I'm a beginner to any sort of coding and having just completed the first 9 lessons of the course, can confidently say that I understood everything that was covered completely. The course is designed to be understood by total beginners to html coding.

If you were initially hesitant to enroll in this months course for the same reason I was, and you are interested in learning a little about coding in the HTML5 language, I highly encourage you to enroll in this course.

The instructors explanations are great and (so far in the first 9 lessons) also highly enjoyable. If it stays as easy to follow as this for the remainder of the course, I may even try to get the certification badge :)

Just thought I'd share my experience so far, as a heads up to others.

Cheers...

Used html5 progress bar for the first time the other day. Really easy to use and makes a pretty cool looking progress bar. Don't know why I didn't take advantage of them earlier.

Two questions:

1) why does it say "expert comment"? I'm not an expert!
2) are quick post notif controls going to be added to our new fancy communications dashboard?

Found this fun article about the shadow DOM. Interesting to see how much is going on behind the scenes to make html more useful.

I think the shadow DOM has come a long way and is now used for creating functional components behind the scenes before the page renders. Here is a new overview by google of the v1 version of the shadow DOM that has come out:
