HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the main markup language for creating web pages and other information to be displayed in a web browser, providing both the structure and content for what is sent from a web server through the use of tags. The current implementation of the HTML specification is HTML5.

One of the things I'm getting "dinged" on for the Google Insights Page Speed test is delivering images in Next Gen format. I realize this is WebP or JPEG200 [.jpf].

I am aware of the <picture> tag, (e.g. this link) but how would I use that tag in the following line of code:

<div class="slider-item js-fullheight" style="background-image: url('images/ExerciseAndEating-25.jpg');">

The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.

After running the Google PageSpeed Insights several times, one of the first things I get "dinged" on is "Serve images in next-gen formats".

I read the directions: I took the image into Photoshop and saved as JPEG 2000 but when I replace that image in my HTML, no images show. This is true for both my local machine and in Production.

Aside from:

  1. Changing the File format from .jpg to .jpf (in Photoshop)
  2. Replacing the HTML (e.g. image2.jpf)

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks for your help.

I have a HTML5/js web page that was working fine and stopped working a short time ago.  I have placed this web page temporally at: https://www.barnwellmd.com/temp/test.html so I can delete it after I close this question (it saves files on my server and sends me an email).

The problem is when a user clicks on "Send to Dr. Office" a popup shows "<head><title>Not Acceptable!</title></head><body><h1>Not Acceptable!</h1><p>An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.</p></body></html>" and nothing is sent.

That button calls the sendCanvas() function:
function sendCanvas()
{
      if (checkFields()) return;
      clearGray();
      createPrint();
      var testCanvas = document.getElementById("imageView");
      var canvasData = testCanvas.toDataURL("image/png");
      //alert(canvasData);
      var ajax = new XMLHttpRequest();
      //alert ('https://www.barnwellmd.com/Uploadroutines/uploadbase64.php?name=' + document.form.ptname.value.replace(/ /g,"_"));
      ajax.open("POST",'https://www.barnwellmd.com/Uploadroutines/uploadbase64.php?name=' + document.form.ptname.value.replace(/ /g,"_"),false);
      //ajax.open("POST",'https://www.barnwellmd.com/Uploadroutines/uploadbase64.php',true);
      ajax.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'canvas/upload');
      //ajax.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/upload');
      ajax.onreadystatechange=function()
      {
            if (ajax.readyState == 4)

Hello, I've found a behaviour of the ::after pseudo-element which I find strange and I'd like to ask you guys if there's an explanation and, most of all, a work-around.

Take a look here:
http://vetrina.ilgufoblu.net/test/

The two buttons are almost identical with completely identical css, but they behave differently on hover because the button on the left has an invisible span tag inside it which somehow makes the ::after pseudo-element position itself below the text instead of right after the text.

I don't understand how this is possible. The span has a "display: none;" attribute set and should not influence the layout in any way, as I understand it.

But it does, and the question I'm asking myself (and you) is why, and is there a way to avoid this?
I need that span (and more, actually) to be there to use some JS code which needs said spans to be right there (not included here because the problem is only with css).

I'll add the relevant code below, you can also check it out via your browser's dev tools.

Thanks.

I find that the following code doesn't work in IE. It works perfect in chrome or firebox. Any idea ?

div.map {
   margin: 20px auto;
   animation-name:rollmap;
   animation-duration: 3s;
   animation-iteration-count:infinite;
}

@keyframes rollmap {
      0% {background:url("../images/Map.png") no-repeat; }
      50% {background:url("../images/Maphover.png") no-repeat; }
      100% {background:url("../images/Map.png") no-repeat; }

Duplicate code removal with ReSharper?

I read it now helps highlight duplicate code, but at jetbrains.com I am not finding an specific feature for that.

At the moment, I care most about UI files, first and foremost HTML and Javascript.

Does anyone know if ReSharper highlight duplicate code within a file? And between different files?

IO am about to get the 30-day free trial. But, before I start the clock, I hope to nail down even if that feature exists.

Thanks

This script, I have a simple email sending in the subject and body.  What I need help with is getting the email into a html format in the body (I have the code below for an example, but don't know how to do it with this script).  I'd also like to add the user this is being run by, like in the example, and also add to the .csv this is writing to.  Currently the csv lists:  Computer | ExactTime

Hello

I purchased a Dashboard design but I am having a few issues with it;
I require to wrap the html elements in a form tag; but styling gets screwed up like below:
wrapping all html elements in a form tag.Without wrapping the tml elements in a form tag it works like below:
without wrapping all html elements in a form tag.
For my purposes of using the template I need the elements wrapped in a form tag like in "wrapped_form_index.html", but I am unable to fix the issues or determine why the template stops working when being wrapped in a form tag.
Template site files are attached here: Template-Problem.zip
(files that applies to the website are located in /Scripts and /Styles)
- another minor issue is that the menu icons disappear in a position between full size and the mobile menu boundaries, if you have any idea where the css does this change please point it out as I would like to keep menu icons and not have three menu styling states.

I've got a function getState(areacode) which will do this, but i'm unsure on how to put it all together.

If I change my style sheet (.css file) I want to force a reload of the file. What is the best way to do this? Is it by adding a query string? Ie:
<link href="style.css?ver=2" rel="stylesheet">

and then changing ver= each time my style sheet changes?

Should I do the same thing for js files?
