Images and Photos

Photo and imaging software is used to edit and compose raster images; Adobe Photoshop, which dominates the market, has its own topic. Common actions include cropping, slicing, retouching, color replacement, masking and erasing. Other programs include Apple Photo, Corel PaintShop Pro, GIMP, Serif PhotoPlus, Pixlr, PhotoScape, Picasa and IrfanView.

Photos sent from iPhone are arriving in small size resolution.
AND I used to be able to choose which size it would be sent in.

Example:  I take a photo, I send it and right before I press send, my iPhone asks me if I want to keep it in the original size (usually more than 1 meg) or make it smaller.
Now, I don't get asked what size of image I want to send, it merely gets sent in the small crap size/resolution.
I'm running IOS 12.1

How can I configure (or reconfigure) my iPhone so that I can control the size of the images  I send. Most of the time I want the original size.
There are more than one type of solid state drives available. I wish to be able to describe and identify the drives that I am involved with using the correct terminology I have included photos of the drives. Could someone please give me the full correct description of each of these shown three types? If they are identified by more than one name please give me both names so that no matter what company I happen to be speaking to they will know what I am speaking of.Photos of solid state drives #1Photos of solid state drive #2
Have a jpg image that needs to be:
  • Opened and displayed
  • Resizeable using its lower-right corner
  • Draggable around the screen
  • Closeable
When first opened, it needs to be resized to fit inside whichever parent element is holding it ... a <div> maybe?
There should be no scrollbars.  Whatever size the parent is dragged to then that is the size of the jpg (but it remains the same ratio).
I thought this would be simple, but nothing I tried so far has worked.  Tried <img>.  Tried background-image.  I must be missing something.
Tools we use here are HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and JavaScript.
Chrome is the web browser used internally.

I have an image that sits on a white background. I created it in MS Paint, and cannot convert it to have a transparent background. I have some questisons.

1. I am looking to purchase or download an image editor which can easily allow me to create images with transparent backgrounds. Can someone recommend software which would be easy to use to create transparent backgrounds? I don't want photoshop with it's expensive yearly licensing fee. Also I downloaded Gimp about 10 years ago and it was extremely buggy. I can pay for a product but don't want to be hooked into a yearly fee.

2. Can someone do me a favor and convert my image to have  a clear background? The image is a simple circle with a yellow arc section at the top of the circle.
Do you know any website with free HD photos for any use? Ideally, FullHD or 4k.
How do I change the color of a logo I inserted in GIMP? I have inserted an image and I would like to change the lettering to all white.

I am trying to learn how to use D3.js so that I can produce graphs for visualized data on my web page which is based on using Javascript.
But I am struggling trying to get an axis scale correctly rendered.
Below is the code where I draw the graph and "attempt" to put the X & Y scales on the axis.   However, if you look at the attach JPG file, the X axis is being drawn at the TOP of the graph, not the bottom where it was supposed to be.   I was calling the d3.axisBottom() as you can seen from the code.  Also, the Y axis is being placed about 10 pixels inside the left side of the graph, again even though I am using the d3.axisLeft() class.  Again you can see this in the attached file screen shot.

From the code below, does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thank you,

var dataset = [77,361,7,9,0,0,0,0,0,266,228,454];

var svgWidth = 500;
var svgHeight = 500;
var barPadding = 5;
var barWidth = (svgWidth / dataset.length);

var svg ='svg')
	.attr("width", svgWidth)
	.attr("height", svgHeight);

var xScale = d3.scaleLinear()
        .domain([0,svgWidth + 150])
        .range([0,svgWidth + 150]);

var x_axis = d3.axisBottom()

var yScale = d3.scaleLinear()
        .domain([d3.min(dataset),(d3.max(dataset) + 200)])

var y_axis = d3.axisLeft()

        .attr("transform", "translate(50,10)")

Pagespeed has indicated I need to change my images from png and jpeg to a next-gen format.  I found a place online that converted my png to jpeg 2000.  Now I need to know how to load both files rather than just the one for my images to be optimized.

I am using Wordpress and I don't see a means to include both files when I want to insert the image in a page.

Please tell me how to do this or tell me another means to get my images in next-gen formats.

Hi Experts,

I recently consolidated a number of contacts that were duplicated in my contacts list on my Android S9+ mobile phone.

Now I've noticed that a lot of the consolidated contacts have the wrong avatar of the persons face, in many cases, the avatar on the contact is of a totally different person than who the contact in my phone really is.

Can anyone explain the best way to fix this so that the pictures on the contacts are correct? Please include step by step instructions if possible as I'm relatively new to Android phones, being an Iphone user for many years.

Many thanks for any help.

Regards, Andrew
Using Microsoft Access (2003)
I have a form with a text box called PicFileName and an Image Control called PersonImage
The intent is that the following code will cause .jpg (picture) to appear in PersonImage, without the .jpg being embedded in the table behind this form (in order to save space)
The following code accomplishes this perfectly:

Dim strPicName As String
Dim strPicPath As String
Dim strSource As String

strPicPath = C:\Pix                 C:\Pix is the folder containing the jpg
strPicName = ABCD.jpg       ABCD.jpg is the filename of the picture

strSource = "" & strPicPath & strPicName & ""              in this case it will be C:\Pix\ABCD.jpg

If Not IsNull(Me.PicFileName) And Me.PicFileName <> "" Then
    Me.PersonImage.Picture = strSource
End If

As I said this works perfectly in all computers on my LAN, EXCEPT for ONE which returns an error 2114 saying that this code is not supported OR the jpg is too large!  I have reduced the size of the .jpg to a few K, to no avail.

ALL COMPUTERS ON THE LAN USE THE SAME OS (Win 10 Pro), AND THE SAME VERSION OF ACCESS, AND GET THEIR JPG FROM THE SAME FOLDER,  and the above process runs perfectly for the last six years!!

QUESTION: What needs to be adjusted in the one computer where this is not working?
I have files with a DWG extension.  They were made a bunch of years ago and are supposedly blueprints. they are about 100KB files.  They've been sitting on a thumb drive for years.

I've tried opening them with irfanview and LibreCAD.  Both say they can't open them.

I used for one of them and it made a PDF with some rectangular shapes / lines, but likely not all that shoudl be there and not aligned correctly (1 rectangle is off to the side).  Is it because they are old and newer programs cant render them correctly? Or they corrupt?

Any recommendations on a universal viewer or something that might be able to open the files?  We're looking to make PDFs or something so we can print them on a large paper printer at staples.
Microsoft Photos keeps popping up when I connect my iPhone to the PC.
How can I stop it from doing it?

I would like to download all photos from the iCloud to my Windows 7 PC
How can I get all my photos off iCloud (empty) and store them on my PC?
Are there any builti-in tools in Windows 10  to capture JPG images from an MP4 video file? If not, what is the best free app to do this? Thanks!
I had selected 2 pictures from pictures folder to be used as background. I do not wish to keep them as background. In another word I wanted to delete them from the location in which they are stored at. The problem is they do not show up in the default location for the background. See screen captures. How do I go about deleting them? The 2 pictures are 1.The Water Falls and 2.The Red Rose.

Thank you.

I need the way to select one area and insert color inside, while the background details are still shown, to the picture, in GIMP.

Or is it not achievable to this, in MS paint?
Within MS painter, how to fill part of area (highlighted below), with specific yellow colour?

Is there a way to increase the size of the thumbnail photos in Windows 10 Explorer?  The "Extra Large" View doesn't cut it for my aging eyes.  I would be happy to buy a third-party program, if necessary.

Why does Power Point (Mac 2018 version) darken images?

When I run the presentation, all my images get darkened. And some become unusable.

Is this a setting i can turn off? I want the images to show exactly as they are in Power Point.

Need help with Photoshop 5.1.  I've down loaded a shamrock from the net.  I need to fill it with "Kelly Green" and add some centered text into the image itself.
As far as filling, everything that I've read on the net doesn't work.

Also, how do you center text in the image.
