iOS is a mobile operating system developed by Apple; it is a derivative of the Mac OS X desktop operating system, with which it shares many (but not all) common frameworks and other components. These include Cocoa Touch, the Mach/Darwin/XNU kernel and code from the Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD). Each iOS application runs in its own secure sandbox to prevent altering other applications, the operating system, or any other data.

Anyone here have experience implementing and managing a good parental control app on their child's iOS device(s)?

I'd prefer one that does not utilize a VPN (too easy to disable) and does not require the client to be on wifi. It should function on both LTE and WiFi. I don't care if the product is overly complex. I just want a reliable tool to be able to monitor usage, disable Internet access on the fly, potentially set time limits at the app-level and make sure the entire app can't be easily skirted by my kid.

There are so many different products on the market, there are hundreds of unhelpful review sites and the actual app-store 'user reviews' are full of negative comments made by people who have minimal technical experience. It's made the process of narrowing down the selection, extremely cumbersome.

I'd like to hear your personal experience with specific apps and what the shortcomings were that you ran up against. I expect I'll have to make concessions as far as functionality goes, so I'm hoping to hear about potential dealbreakers.

I have an Office 365 Skype for Business phone number that is loaded onto my iPhone X using the Skype for Business iPhone X app.

I would like to make it so that whenever I call someone from my iPhone X my Skype for Business phone number (and not my iPhone X phone number) will display on the caller ID screen of the person I am calling.

I want everyone to be calling my Skype for Business phone number and not my iPhone phone number.

I am the Office 365 Global administrator for my Office 365 domain.

How can this be done? Where do I need to go to enable this setting?

We have MS Word SOP's that require users to sign off after reading them.  The SOP text will be locked but their is a table the users fill out with their name will be editable.

This document works fine on our local file server but I want to put this on Office 365 SharePoint so it will be accessible through the web for our remote workers.

When I try this, the functionality is reduced where the Word app will be able to edit but the O365 web version of Word can't.

The Word documents were created by the same version of office Word 2016

I would also like users to be able to access these SOP's from their iPhone and be able to edit (sign off)

Is this possible?  It seems like an easy thing but Office 365 doesn't work as I would expect with sharing and editing.

Thanks in advance

Background:
Exchange 2016 On-prem
IBM MaaS360 (MDM and Mail Client)
iPhone 8

Issue:
One of my C-suites is "requesting" (aka requirement) that we be able to browse the entire history via phone.  We currently have MaaS360 Secure Mail which holds up to two weeks of emails but this c-suite was trying to browse for mail that was from several months ago.  The C-suite then showed me the personal iPhone (Yahoo mail via POP/IMAP) and said that they can view years worth of email by just scrolling.  I argued that the email is just being downloaded to the phone so that the phone can search/browse/list.  Not really an answer so that didn't go too well.

I'm not sure if there's anything out there that helps us in this situation?  I did try looking/downloading the MS Outlook iOS mail app to the phone.  When browsing through the Inbox folder, it does stop and say "Load more convo" which doesn't really work.  Using webmail (OWA on the phone) works but isn't a permanent solution.

Our current mail client, Maas360's Secure Mail, has some issues -- searching capabilities (really) sucks but Secure Mail does leverage some enterprise features (additional mailboxes, calendars, tasks) that some other mail clients can't support.  Also allows for BYOD.  The really bad side of MaaS360 is that support is terrible (IBM).

Any ideas or suggestions (minus bringing back old BES servers) would be very helpful.  Thanks in advance!

Are there currently any Bluetooth or other keyboards available that allow typing directly onto an iPhone X?

I have a user who often has to type detailed emails or texts into his iPhone and is interested in purchasing a keyboard that will allow him to do this especially since the voice transcription service isn't entirely accurate.

What is the process for setting up an Office 365 shared email account within the built-in mail app on an iPhone?

The user who will be setting up this app already has full rights to both this shared email account and full rights to send emails directly from this shared email account.

This shared email account automatically appears within Outlook 2016 on this user's Windows 10 computer.

What is the process for setting up this shared email account within the built-in mail app on an iPhone?

What is the process for logging onto a Cisco Catalyst 3560 switch?

This is a Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series 48-Port PoE Ethernet Switch WS-C3560-48PS-S V04.

This switch is running iOS version 12.2.(25).SEB4.

Does this have to be done using a utility like Hyperterminal or can this be done with a web browser?

We have an Adtran Netvanta 1534 2nd Gen switch and a GBIC from a third-party. On Cisco switches, you can enter these commands to get the IOS to recognize the third-party transceiver:

service unsupported-transceiver
no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid

Are there similar commands required on the Adtran?

ebay lists iphone8 64g for verizon $516-$700

verizon wireless united states store sells for $900 (total after hidden fees/taxes)

Yes it is better to pay monthly for 2 years.

Only other benefit is 1 year warranty. If something happens to phone from verizon store; it gets replaced

$900-$516=$386

Could I buy ebay phone and buy a warranty for cheaper than $386

Hi,  I use 1Password from Agilekeychain.  On My IOS 11 devices and on my Sierra 10.12.6 1Password was configured to use Dropbox as a sync destination.   iOS 11 upgrade changed that to iCloud.  How do I change it back so my syncs will work between my MacBook Pro and my iPhone and iPad.

Thanks,
Howie

We use whatapps and are always deleting the movies and video that we received.  We do this so we don't jump the 5gb limit in iCloud.  However, this morning the iCloud was in 500mb available.  When searching what apps as taking up, it was whatapps with 3.5gb as the largest.

The question is, if we delete videos contents in whatapps, it should also reduce the backup area in iCloud? (say, whatapps backup in icloud is 3.5gb, so we delete the device videos that sum up 2 gb, the next time it back up whatapps, the backup area in iCloud for whatapps should read 1.5gb)

Are we correct in this?  Besides buying more space in iCloud, what can we do to reduce this space? Can we find the Biggest Chats in WhatsApp and clean it up?

Please advice.

I recently upgraded a user's iPhone from the 6 to the 8 and he pointed out that while all the main stuff transferred over fine, the autocomplete/recent history for e-mail addresses didn't but was something he used frequently. (I transferred via itunes backup.) I can't find much on this online to see if it's possible to bring this over. He doesn't even have iCloud set up, which is what I saw mentioned a few times. Any thoughts?

Hi

Does anyone know if iOS allows apps to run in the background indefinitely or there is a timeout?

We are running a third party mail app that needs to run constantly in the background to retrieve mail. What we are seeing is that sometimes the app is being terminated, probably by iOS battery optimization but we want to understand the expected behavior from iOS.

I am considering using the "auto delete old conversations" option on my iphone to clear up some space, but would like to have a backup of them before I delete them.  Is there a way to export or archive imessages so that in the unlikely scenario that I need to refer back to them in the future I can?
