iPhone

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple Inc. It and the iPad, along with several other mobile devices from Apple, run on the iOS operating system, which has its own topic, as does the iPad for device-specific questions. Native iOS applications are written in Objective-C or in Swift using the Cocoa Touch frameworks or HTML5 compiled with the help of a package manager such as Adobe PhoneGap; a common IDE is Xcode.

Hello Experts,

My client runs an on premise Exchange 2016 organization with several MBX servers in a DAG. The issue is that a single user did not get the typical email message when she connected a new phone and tried to use the app Outlook for IOs and Android. For security reasons, company does not allow to sync devices with this app, and a mobile device policy was setup to prevent sync and an email automatically goes to user's mailbox.

Situation is that we can see the new device is in quarantine as expected, but user never got the email "Your device is temporarily blocked from synchronizing using Exchange ActiveSync until your administrator grants it access"

We performed an email search against this mailbox for the dates that she was supposed to receive the email, and the search did not return any values.

Other users are not experiencing this issue.

Any ideas?

Found the 2 links but they do not state how to resolve this issue or find a logical explanation

We have a team of 4 people that would like to use a shared calendar for an upcoming conference they will be attending.  The purpose of this calendar is to have all 4 of their schedules while they are at a conference.  Using the shared calendar, they would be able to see which sessions/meetings the other team members are in at a quick glance.

Setting up the calendar in their Outlook's works fine.  The issue is having them open that shared calendar on their iPhones.  Is there a way to open shared calendars on the iPhone?  The creator of the shared calendar can open it on the iPhone, but the other 3 are not able to.  They are able to open it on their laptops within Outlook though.

We use Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2013.  The iPhones are managed by MobileIron and use the Apple default mail app.  I've also tried the Outlook app on the iPhone with on luck.

Any guidance on how to make this work or if there is another solution other than the shared calendar approach would be appreciated!

I'm looking for an iPhone X rear car backup Bluetooth camera backup system where I can install a camera on my rear car bumper (that gets power from my car) that then transmits to my iPhone X so that I can see behind me while I am backing up in my car.

What are some good Bluetooth cameras that do this?

HP 8710/iMac Issue

After several days of off again, on again functionality, I have come to this conclusion. The problem is in my iMac, not the network and not the printer. Two weeks ago I was convinced it was the printer, so I quickly ordered a new HP 8710 so I could just swap the old 8710 out. Ultimately, the brand new one started doing exactly what the old one was doing.

On Tuesday I ran this test. (All sent to the HP 8710 wirelessly)
-Print from my 6th gen iPad. OK
-Print from my iPhone X. OK
-Print from my wife’s iPhone X. OK
-Print from wife’s MacBook Pro (running High Sierra, latest update) OK
All of those worked perfectly.

-Print from my iMac (running High Sierra, latest update)
Error. Cannot find, connect, or in any other way, play with the 8710.

I can print to my Epson 837 wirelessly from my iMac without an issue.

Added HP Smart app on my iMac and things started working yesterday. Was able to do multiple prints, Perhaps it was rebooting my iMac, which I have done numerous times. Perhaps the HP Smart app. Whatever, it worked. This morning, the first chance I had to print, it was back to a “no go” situation. And I just printed this off from my iPhone without an issue.

So, this is where I stand. What in the name of all that is good, has been corrupted in my OS?  Looking to upgrade to Mojave, but don’t want to drag the problem across and have the same situation. Any thoughts? At all?

I use Apple only for my iPhone 6, and Windows for everything else.  I'm running Windows 10 with Office 365.   When I set up my iCloud to upload backups of photos, etc., it gave me the following error message:

iCloud and Outlook
How do I configure Outlook to allow iCloud to work … or is there a reason not to?

Thanks,

Phil

We have a SBS 2011 server using Exchange 2010.  We have several users that have their emails syncing on their iPhones.  I am having issues with one user getting their emails to work on their iPhone.  I have tried to configure this user on my iPhone with the same results.  We both are using iOS 11.4.1.  Everything is configured correctly and I get all check marks after manually configuring the mail server in Accounts & Passwords.  But when I go to the Apple mail app it comes up with the message "Cannot Get Mail  The connection to the server failed."  I'm thinking it is a problem with this particular user because everyone else that I have on iPhones is not having this issue.  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How can I indicate to my iPhone X that I am walking (and not driving) while I am using the built-in GPS map services to provide me with turn by turn directions?

This is especially important since I visit a lot of towns that have one-way streets.

I'm looking for an iPhone app/service that will make all outgoing phone calls originate from another phone number.

This way all calls that I place on my iPhone X will display this other phone number on the caller ID screen of the person I am calling so that I won't reveal my iPhone X phone number.

This is something that Google Voice used to do until June 1, 2018 (due to the Google Voice app no longer integrating with cell phone providers like it used to).

What apps or services will allow this to be done?

Greetings wise wizards of EE:

I'm helping a friend who has an insane amount of contacts in the Microsoft Outlook app on his iPhone (and not via iCloud). He wants to export these iPhone-Outlook contacts into his personal computer copy of Outlook. I have no idea how to do this, and all Google searches reveal only syncing iCloud contacts or PC Outlook to the native iPhone contacts app, which is not what I am after.

Any instructions or links to the process would be most welcome indeed.

Many thanks in advance,

Zovoth

Need iPhone app to track my location

I need to sell on the road and sometimes need a reminder which stores I visited. So, a map if where I went each day would be helpful.

What options do I have?

Is there location data already on the phone I can use?

Thanks

I have the free WebEx app installed on my iPhone X.

Is it possible for me to join in & participate in a WebEx video chat using the free iPhone app by simply clicking on the WebEx URL link provided to me in an email?

I currently don't have any type of WebEx subscriptions so I need to make sure I will be able to fully participate in such a WebEx video conference using the free WebEx app on my iPhone X.

Helping a friend that wants a simple way to play streaming music in his shop.

I thought of Alexa / echo dot.

Also thought of a cable TV box connected only to audio to play the music channel through the audio out.  But a cable box rental / TV service would be expensive / month.

Are there 'appliances' for specific streaming services for audio?

Otherwise I envision having to have a PC / iphone / ipod type thing running the app of a streaming service?

And then - this is music to play in a hair salon.  What's the legality of playing the services in a commercial environment?  Is there a business subscription  that covers playing it in a commercial business?

Finally - feeding the audio out of an echo dot / PC / ipod into 3 speakers for a 1,200 sq ft room.  We're thinking 3 ceiling speakers. But need an amp to do that? Any recommendations?

Is this iPhone5 usable?

The attached image of the iPhone shows the screen is raised up and I worry it is dangerous even to handle it.

It still works as a radio and alarm clock. But, the Home button is broken so the phone is barely usable.

Any idea what's going on?

Could the battery be getting ready to explode? I have not idea and hoped someone on EE might be able to offer some advice.

Thanks.

Lots of times when I use the oven in my kitchen to cook it sets off the smoke alarm in a nearby hallway.

I would like to purchase a smoke alarm that has a remote way of turning it on and off (with either a remote control or an app installed on my iPhone X) or a hanging on/off switch (that will hang down from the ceiling and allow me to turn the alarm off whenever I am cooking and then turn it back on afterwards).

What type of smoke alarms have these capabilities and where can I buy such smoke alarms from?

Newly installed Exchange 2016 server.  Have 2 users with issues trying to get email accounts setup on their mobile devices.  Thus far I have looked into one of the accounts.  Both users are out of state so I don't have physical access to their mobile devices.  However, I tried to setup their Exchange account on my personal smart phone (Android) and using two different apps I am unable to get the account to authenticate and add to the device.  The remote users has an iPhone.  Supposedly they can add the account, but nothing ever syncs.  However, we have many other users in the organization that have successfully setup their accounts no their mobile devices.  In fact, we have attempted to setup another users account on the iPhone in question and that account works fine.  So I would say the users device is not the issue.  In addition, I am able to login to the users account using OWA with the same credentials and the user has Outlook 2016 on their computer using the same credentials.  Not sure where to start in trying to diagnose why it is not working.

Help is appreciated.
