iPhone

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple Inc. It and the iPad, along with several other mobile devices from Apple, run on the iOS operating system, which has its own topic, as does the iPad for device-specific questions. Native iOS applications are written in Objective-C or in Swift using the Cocoa Touch frameworks or HTML5 compiled with the help of a package manager such as Adobe PhoneGap; a common IDE is Xcode.

VIDEO: THE CONCERTO CLOUD FOR HEALTHCARE

Modern healthcare requires a modern cloud. View this brief video to understand how the Concerto Cloud for Healthcare can help your organization.

Is there a way to capture a web page on an iOS device  so that any links on the webpage remain live.

What I’m doing right now is hitting the share button, selecting print,  selecting the printer,  and then reverse pinching, then hitting the share button again and saying open in PDFpen Pro which then stores it in iCloud. I WOULD REALLY LOVE A WAY TO AUTOMATE THAT PROCESS.

I am able to get the webpage but the links are no longer live.  The files get stored in iCloud and then on a weekly basis I drag-and-drop them to be ORCd and filed.

Do you know of an app that will capture the page as a PDF that will keep the Links live.

I am looking at DevonThink to go but it seems overly complicated and difficult to search. Not sure where it stores the database but it does allow you to save as a WebArchive

The share option often doesn't have my standard location available.  As result I have my files spread over everywhere as I use what is available on the share menu.

I would like to standardize on where I store my files, I currently have Evernote, Microsoft OneNote, Qfile a QNAP NAS Utility,  Dropbox, Box, Google Drive,  sometimes the iOS mail shows up in other times it’s just the Gmail app.

I’ve checked the “More” menu and unfortunately the app I want to use is not included there either.

I am thinking about standardizing on Dropbox but if it often doesn’t show as an option it kind of defeats the purpose.

I have tried nightly to round up the information that I’ve spread around during the day and move it into my standard location but that is quite a pain.

File storage in the cloud for Mac, PC, iPhone

I want the cloud storage location to act as a network file share, not a  file distribution center where copies everything to every device you have.  With the small size of SSD drives that is proven to be impractical.

How do you store items in the cloud and not have them synchronize everywhere.

I am testing out Cloud Mounter and Commander 1 Pro on the MAC

How do you store documents in the cloud and yet make them encrypted such that everybody can get to them,  iOS, Mac, Windows PC, Browser Window.

Cloud Mounter on the MAC has the option to mount most cloud services with Encryption but I a not sure how you would access the file from an iPhone or PC.

Hi, does anyone know how to view the Device Token needed when sending a direct push notification from the PinPoint Console? I'm using Amazon PinPoint to send push notifications in an app I'm developing. I've used Mobile Hub to create sample code which builds with no errors. I just want to test that the app is receiving push notifications. Thanks

A friend of mine is an Android user.  In the past, I could use Messages on my iPhone and Mac to text message them.  The outline of the messages with them would be green (which usually indicates they're a non iPhone user).

A recent update on my Macbook have suddenly made it not possible for me to get texts from my friend.  I still get texts on my iPhone, but they are not showing up in Messages anymore on my Macbook.

How do I turn this back on?

I need a iphone backup app (Windows PC or iPhone) that will backup EVERYTHING (texts, phone call history, contacts, photos, etc.) and allow you to restore to a different or same iphone assigned to a DEP/MDM account.  I'm moving my companies iphones to a DEP/MDM solution and having a difficult time finding 1 app that backs up existing info on an iphone and getting that info back on the phone once it's configured on the DEP/MDM system. iTunes backup will not work because it requires an apple account to restore.

Anyone with any help in this particular situation would be greatly appreciated.

How to forward all new SMS received automatically from one iPhone to another?

I have the situation in the question title.

I have been told I have too many apps running. I was told I should close apps.

Of course, I have no idea how to do that.

Can someone advise, is it that or something else?

Thanks

Typing on mobile: some thoughts

I was thinking the other day about smartphones and how I often don't like to type on them. I'm just so used to typing on full-size keyboards, that typing on mobile is like swimming in molasses. And it's really a shame, because in so many other ways, my iPhone is incredibly convenient.

But then, I thought about how speech to text these days is pretty decent, and perhaps the best approach would be to just use Siri for dictation instead of trying to type. I've held off on such things, because I'm old enough (and had enough bad experiences with flaky computer dictation long ago) that psychologically, it feels really weird to talk to a computer.

But in this case, my computer is a phone.

And that means: I feel weird talking to a phone.

Which is kind of weird, don't you think?

What about you? Do you type on your smartphone a lot? Or do you use Siri/Cortana/Google for dictation? Does talking to your phone feel weird or is it totally normal for you?

Stacy: I'm curious... Why do you hate talk to text?
Not speaking for Stacy, but I too get frustrated with 'Siri' sometimes, especially so if I'm driving and try to initiate a hands free call to some of my contacts. I tend to drive with my windows fully down almost all year round so I guess the ambient noise probably doesn't help, but it can be incredibly frustrating when two out of three calls tend to work perfectly!

A typical example goes something like this..
1. Hey Siri, call Tom Smith, office..  "Calling, Tom Smith.. office"   Tick! - Successful call
2. Hey Siri, call Bob Jones, mobile.. "Calling Bob Jones.. mobile"  Tick! - Successful call
3. Hey Siri, call Jennifer Clayton, office..  "Calling John Mechanic, office.."  Huh?!?!

Might take two or three attempts before she finally gets it right and I've had to explain myself a few times when not paying much attention to Siri's answers (which most times I'm not) and the call goes through to someone I had no intention of calling.

One amusing time she wrongly called my dental surgery and I ended up making an appointment for a routine checkup during the call. Turned out I needed a filling so that call ended up costing me about $150.00!! lol..

I'm sure others must have also experienced this phenomenon as well? :)

One reason of not liking talk to text if you ever been on the end of the message that has not been read over before sending is really confusing and can cause some problems.

Second reason just listening to someone use talk to text is simply annoying to me. I don't want to hear the conversation you are having.

This is just my opinion.

Our Lync 2013 Server hosts to sip domains.  a.com and b.com

I have an employee who can log in to b.com fine on his computer but not on his mobile device.
Users in both a.com and b.com can log in on both computers and mobile devices, myself included.
I attempted to log in as the problem user on my iPhone and was unable.

The troublesome user account's sip domain is username@b.com.
Not sure what is going on.  I tried removing then adding the AD account from the Lync solution via the control panel.
I've compared AD and Lync 2013 account information with a b.com user that CAN log in on a mobile device and they are configured the same way.

I'm at a loss.

I need to import the following fields from my .csv file into my iPhone 6s contacts:
First Name, Last Name, Company, Notes, Email, cell phone, phone, city, province (state)

I've googled this and it seems possible using the following steps:
.csv --> Google Contacts --> vcard --> iphone   or
.csv --> Outlook --> iTunes --> iphone

In either case, I'd love a detailed procedure.

Anybody who's actually done this before?

Thanks

Have an issue where some recipients, and they're recipients at like @sbcglobal.net or @aol.com, cannot receive calendar invites from senders of our Exchange 2010 server.
We have played with all the HTML format e-mail settings and still the same results.
Other recipients on the invitation will receive it just fine, although they are on different e-mail systems respectively.
Is this really likely an Exchange issue, or something on sbcgloval or AOL's end?
The recipients in question too appear to just be using their phone for e-mail, so I'm wondering if it's converting the attachments upon receipt.
I've even created Att.net and sent an invite to myself and it came through as an ics in the webmail, but I was able to open it, so I'm not able to re-create it.
For AOL test account, I don't even see an invite or winmail.dat come through for that matter.

A client can access his iCloud email from his iPhone and logging on thru his Apple Id online but cannot thru Outlook 2010 or Windows 10 mail since the middle of June. Should his iCloud and his Apple ID password be the same or not necessarily? Is there a way to retrieve his iCloud email password from his iPhone or Apple account? He is using a Dell and Microsoft Surface with Windows 10.
Thanks,
Mags

I have a Wordpress site with WooCommerce and have my entire store working for PDF download, after purchase.

My WooCommerce emails out a URL to the PDF file for download. But I need to give mobile users the option of using Dropbox.

How do I do this?

Is this a WordPress plug-in? Or an option / plug-in for WooCommerce?

Thanks

I have a book on PDF which I expect to be about 500 MB in size. Far too big to email to the buyer, after purchase via PayPal. I will sell the PDF on my WordPress website.

Can I sell a PDF to an iPhone user?

I have no interest in diving back into being an Apple Developer at the moment, but will do so if people show an interest in my book. But, with my book selling on my website, are buyers forced to download the PDF on their PC's? And does this mean they must use Dropbox (for example) as a way to read the book on their iPhones?

I am curious.

Thanks.

any tips field forms :-)

First field must have selectable value (like options) but still needs to be open for new entries (values).
then if one of the selectable value is selected field b must automatically set.

example:  Field 1 named  Device:
selectable 2 options: Iphone, andriod  or new value

Field 2 named OS: When Iphone is selected the next field needs to display IOS (OS)
or when a new value is added then the next field needs to be open for new entry
