iPhone

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple Inc. It and the iPad, along with several other mobile devices from Apple, run on the iOS operating system, which has its own topic, as does the iPad for device-specific questions. Native iOS applications are written in Objective-C or in Swift using the Cocoa Touch frameworks or HTML5 compiled with the help of a package manager such as Adobe PhoneGap; a common IDE is Xcode.

I am running Windows 10, and regularly sync my Outlook with my iPhone 6.  Today I was notified by iTunes that there was an update available, but when I tried to update the software/firmware, I got the message below saying I needed to liberate some storage on the phone.  It said I needed 770 MB, but there's over 8 GB available on the phone.  Please help.

iPhone storage error
Thanks,

Phil

Hi Experts,

I am using the following input mask that I have found a long time ago
//Source: http://digitalbush.com/projects/masked-input-plugin/#demo

!function(factory) {
    "function" == typeof define && define.amd ? define([ "jquery" ], factory) : factory("object" == typeof exports ? require("jquery") : jQuery);
}(function($) {
    var caretTimeoutId, ua = navigator.userAgent, iPhone = /iphone/i.test(ua), chrome = /chrome/i.test(ua), android = /android/i.test(ua);
    $.mask = {
        definitions: {
            "9": "[0-9]",
            a: "[A-Za-z]",
            "*": "[A-Za-z0-9]"
        },
        autoclear: !0,
        dataName: "rawMaskFn",
        placeholder: "_"
    }, $.fn.extend({
        caret: function(begin, end) {
            var range;
            if (0 !== this.length && !this.is(":hidden")) return "number" == typeof begin ? (end = "number" == typeof end ? end : begin,
            this.each(function() {
                this.setSelectionRange ? this.setSelectionRange(begin, end) : this.createTextRange && (range = this.createTextRange(),
                range.collapse(!0), range.moveEnd("character", end), range.moveStart("character", begin),
                range.select());
            })) : (this[0].setSelectionRange ? (begin = this[0].selectionStart, end = this[0].selectionEnd) : document.selection && document.selection.createRange && (range = document.selection.createRange(),

I am looking for something that will work with Mailchimp to enable text messages to be sent, and that has an unsubscribe feature of some sort.

I found some company that makes a plugin for Mailchimp, 'text marketer' but they are based in the UK, and I'm unsure if they's support texts to the USA

Any other products that would be inexpensive?

Thanks

I run Untangle as a NGFW and have the OpenVPN component on it.  I also set up a client on it for my iPhone 7 and have OpenVPN on that as well.
Downloaded the files from UT's OpenVPN to my laptop.  How do I get the files from there to the iPhone and configured?

Thanks!

I have managed delete the authenticator account for my office 365 admin account, which runs on my iPhone.

When I try to login I get asked for the verification PIN, obviously I don't have that. When I chose a different method, it offers to send a PIN to the authenticator, but the authenticator just tells me the account is no longer available and may have to be added!!

How do I get the authenticator account back for this admin account?

Any advice very much appreciated.

My computers are Windows 10, but I have an iPhone and use File Explorer to transfer photos to my computer.  Today I tried to transfer some new photos to my computer, but when I opened File Explorer it showed no files in my iPhone DCIM folder.  However, File Explorer showed that my iPhone Internal Storage was almost full (see image below).  So I went to iTunes, which showed that there was still plenty of storage available on the phone (see second image below).  Please help me understand what's going on, and how I can get my photos - other than emailing them to myself:

iPhone storage from File Explorer
iTunes storage

Sending text message for free?

I saw a price by Twilio to send text message for $75 per 100 message sent. But, this kills my business model.

Anyone know of a service that can sent Text Message for far less?

Thanks.

When you make a change to a web page & refresh it in Safari on an iPhone (6 in this case), the refresh does not take.

What is required to force it to reload the page from the server & not the cache?

I think if you turn the phone off, then back on, it will take but I'm not sure.

Thanks

I am running Windows 10, and using Outlook 365, which I used to regularly sync with my iPhone using iTunes.  I have never worked with the Cloud storage for Outlook, always working with my local PST file.  Recently my iTunes refused to sync with my local Outlook file, and after trying to resolve the problem it appears as though I should be switching to the Cloud for my Outlook and the syncing.  But when I went to my iCloud settings to tell it to backup my Outlook, I got the following error message - with no instructions for how to set up Outlook for the "default profile".  I don't want to lose my perfectly functioning Outlook email, Contacts, and Calendar.  Please advise.

iCloud error

Thanks,

Phil

I have an CA issued certificatthe that is used for SMTP Email  on smartphones.  That SSL/TLS Certificate is to expire in about 2 months n the future; but, all of the sudden iphone devices cannot get the comapny email(Send/Receive).  This problem does not happen on Android Devices.

Not all apple devices have this problem but many do.  I could not find an obvious and consistant pattern, if it was the version of the IOS or anything like that.   But it appears that Apple updated their Security requirements for SSL: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210176

No SHA-1 certificates are valid with IOS version 13.0 and higher.  I have 13.3 on my iphone and my iphone still works just fine but other iphones with that version do not.

I think the solution is to upgrade the CA-Certificae which we are planning to do anyway; but, is there a work-around that that we can configure in the mean time?  I wonder if one can downgrade the version of the Apple Iphone IOS until the new certificagte is in place?

No android devices have this problem and some Iphones are still working (for now).  Is there a work-around we can use until the new certificate is prepared and installed?

How did this get there, and what's the best way to remove it?

Back in the day you could use apps like PocketMirror etc. that would keep folders in Outlook in sync with each other. Now with API's, Zapier, and the like you can use the "cloud" to keep databases in sync. Looking for a way to keep Icloud Contacts(Iphone) and Outlook Contacts (Office 365 Premium/Exchange) in sync

Setup:
DEVICE 1:
Windows 10 with Outlook 2019 and Office 365 Business Premium Mail setup and iCloud app installed to Sync Icloud Contacts in iCloud folder in Outlook

DEVICE 2:
iPhone 8 with phone contacts (synced with iCloud contacts) and Outlook App (Sync'd with Office 365 Business Premium/Exchange)

Need app that runs in Outlook on Windows machine or maybe some API service that will sync the Icloud Contacts to the Office 365 Business Premium/Exchange Contacts so that when either databases are updated the sync pushes through both ways.

Hope an expert with experience in th subject help.  I have an Apple Watch series 5.  Previously I used FitBit.  I just noticed that my AW does not register my steps or stairs as accurate as my Fitbit did.  Example I would walk and look at the AW and no change, until it decided when to change the AW meter and the iPhone activity apps.  Yet with with the Fitbit, as I walk or do stairs, it would count as i did my walk/stairs, no siting you would see it live.

So, is this a flaw in Apple Watch or is there a configuration I’m unaware of?

I cannot connect my iPhone 11 running IOS 13.3.1 with my Surface Pro 6 laptop running Windows 10 Enterprise version 1809.

I can pair the devices so that both devices will show up in the others' OS list of blue tooth paired devices (see img1, img2).

When I try to connect the iPhone to the laptop by selecting "laptop name...Not Connected" from the list of paired devices in the MY DEVICES area,  I get the following error pop-up on the iPhone - "Connection Unsuccessful 'laptop name' is not supported" where the only option is to Forget Device (see img 3).

When I select Forget Device, the "laptop name" is deleted from the MY DEVICES section and moved to the OTHER DEVICES section (see img 4).

Selecting the "laptop" from the OTHER DEVICES section returns error pop-up - "Pairing Unsuccessful "laptop name" is not supported" where the only option is OK (see img 5).

FYI, I have tried all of the obvious things like turning blue tooth on and off on both devices, resetting network settings on iPhone, looking for driver updates for windows, etc.

Has anyone seen or noticed iPhone users that run the Outlook app for their O365 account that have shared mailboxes simply disappear out of the clear blue?   One of my users just called in and states both of his shared mailboxes were gone out of his outlook but his primary account was still there.  He swears he didn't delete them manually because it would have meant he would have physically had to have removed both, however he claims they just disappeared.   I walked him through re-adding them both and they appeared.   Figured I'd ask.

Have a customer that switched to Office 365 Business Premium. They were using the default MAIL app on iPhone to send and receive emails. Now they are using Outlook APP to sync with Office 365 and Outlook Desktop. They were using POP before on both accounts with WIX EMAIL HOSTING (account dead now) and have some SENT emails that are currently still in the default MAIL app on iPhone. How can I get all of those SENT ITEMS in the dafualt MAIL app on Iphone into the SENT ITEMS of OUTLOOK on Desktop?

I have iCloud app installed on the Windows Laptop and it appears to be syncing the CONTACTS and the CALENDARS, but I see NO EMAIL.

TL;DR
Need to get SENT EMAIL from Apple default MAIL app transferred to Outlook DESKTOP SENT ITEMS.

Thanks
