iPhone

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple Inc. It and the iPad, along with several other mobile devices from Apple, run on the iOS operating system, which has its own topic, as does the iPad for device-specific questions. Native iOS applications are written in Objective-C or in Swift using the Cocoa Touch frameworks or HTML5 compiled with the help of a package manager such as Adobe PhoneGap; a common IDE is Xcode.

A client can access his iCloud email from his iPhone and logging on thru his Apple Id online but cannot thru Outlook 2010 or Windows 10 mail since the middle of June. Should his iCloud and his Apple ID password be the same or not necessarily? Is there a way to retrieve his iCloud email password from his iPhone or Apple account? He is using a Dell and Microsoft Surface with Windows 10.
Thanks,
Mags

I have a book on PDF which I expect to be about 500 MB in size. Far too big to email to the buyer, after purchase via PayPal. I will sell the PDF on my WordPress website.

Can I sell a PDF to an iPhone user?

I have no interest in diving back into being an Apple Developer at the moment, but will do so if people show an interest in my book. But, with my book selling on my website, are buyers forced to download the PDF on their PC's? And does this mean they must use Dropbox (for example) as a way to read the book on their iPhones?

I am curious.

Thanks.

Hi,

We backed up the old Iphone using ICloud but when we restore to the new phone more than half the apps are missing. Originally it will show the Icons of all the apps but when finished only about half of the 100+ apps is still there. Can anyone tell me if we do anything wrong. Most of them cannot be found on the app store when searching so I am not sure how the apps was installed.

Thanks
Albert

Hi Experts,

I have an older iPhone 4 from which I would like o move 200+ notes to iCloud and I have added the iCloud account to that phone. However, under notes I see both accounts, but when I go to the iPhone account I dont see the edit button under upper right.

I hear that this is a limitations with the older iPhone, but how can I get around it?

Thank you,

I recently turned in an iPhone 5 at the end of a project.

This iPhone 5 is now out of state.

Is there a way for me to logon to my iTunes account on the internet and remove my iTunes account from this iPhone 5 without me having to have the iPhone 5 in front of me?

iPhone 6s was damaged and had to be replaced. Did not have a current backup so restored old backup to get up and going.
After a month was able to revive damaged 6s and now able to access data.
I am looking for a way to move the data from the damaged iPhone and merge it with the current data on the new iPhone 6s mainly the iMessage/SMS data.
I can use programs like iExplorer to see the data but I cannot find anyway to merge the two.

Hi Experts,

My Dad saved around 200 notes directly on his iPhone. Now I got him Exchange.

Is there any quick way that I can transfer those notes either on his Exchange account or on a Windows Hard-drive?

Thank you

I used to get Hotmail.com Emails on my iPhone (via the "Outlook" app.  That stopped a week ago.  Today I disconnected Hotmail (Outlook) turned off my iPhone, then turned it back on and tried to reconnect my Hotmail account.

I was asked for my email password which I entered.  I got "Error.  Please check your Internet connection and try again."  I did using Safari and I do have Internet access.

Any ideas that may help?

A client of ours had an iPhone 5 and recorded calls with a digital recording device by plugging the device into the audio jack.  He did the same when he got his iPhone 7 via the lightening to 3.5mm adapter but it only records the other persons voice when records calls.   I've tried calling apple to get clarification on why this what the fix would be but they suggested contacting the digital recorder manufacturer.  Can someone tell me what's going on with the recording?  Haven't found much searching the web.

My CEO uses apple mail and has been reaching a max quota limit lately.  Although he most of the time uses webmail to access his email on his computer, he has an iPad and iPhone with an IMAP configuration.

He has asked me to wipe down all the email on his webmail but keep a local copy on his computer so that he can refer to it as needed.

I know in outlook this would be an archive file and get it done with it. But how do I accomplish the same via Mac Mail. Any other solutions?

Thanks

I just installed iTunes on my windows 7 pc and I'd like to copy a bunch of my MP3 files (some are podcasts, some are music MP3's) to my iPhone 6s. I don't want to copy ALL of my MP3's just some.
Can someone recommend a YouTube video or instructions.  the UI of iTunes is not really intuitive for what I'm trying to do.
Or maybe I'm just not getting the logic of it.

I'm getting rid of my Blackberry Classic and I just bought a new iPhone 6s.  I'm having a lot of trouble moving my contact information from Blackberry to my iphone.

I've managed to get the contacts exported into a csv file and I've cleaned it up so it's good data.  Now I just have to import that file into my iphone.

I found this suggestion:
https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-transfer-contacts-from-excel-to-an-iphone

It says that I need to first import the csv file into Microsoft Outlook.  Then, use iTunes to import from Outlook into iPhone.

But I was sortof trying to avoid installing iTunes on my new computer.  Or my phone, I suppose, for that matter.

There must be a straightforward way to import contact information from a csv file into my iPhone.  Help!

Thanks

Hi,

The voice memos app works fine, it records audio and plays it back, but when I record a video on my iPhone 5S, there is no sound.

I have already done a factory re-set.

Any advice welcome.

I've embedded a Google Calendar into our web site.  It works beautifully on a PC, but doesn't display fully, and you can't adjust it, on a Iphone.  What changes to the following code would I have to make?

<iframe src="https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=p5vrv1koi1c3fmpui8317jp76s%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Chicago" style="border: 0" width="1300" height="700" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

So if my understanding is correct from what I have managed to discover, the problem here is that any device connected to a cell phone hotspot, that has an active VPN, will simply route through the public ip connection on the hotspot and not go through the VPN.

Is there a way to 'route' through the VPN any device connected to the cell hotspot?  I have heard that possibly rooting the cell phone may allow this, but I have never rooted a phone before.

Or, is there another way to make this happen?  I am trying to create a secure VPN from our remote offices back to our main office using a cell phone...without having to step up to a LTE router.
