Hi all!

I've prepared a formula that colors my cell following various rules

Everything works great but if I copy the formula for all the column it won't work for all the rows...

I need this formula to work on both Excel and Libre Office Calc.

What am I doing wrong?

See example attached.

It seems the HYPERLINK function in LibreOffice Calc has been changed. Since several years I use a spreadsheet containing a summarizing worksheet to summarize several worksheets in the same file. The HYPERLINK formula is

=HYPERLINK(CHAR(35)&C60&".A"&MATCH(B60;INDIRECT(CHAR(39)&C60&CHAR(39)&".$A$1:$A$200");0);"GoTo")

in which column B contains a year ("2013") and column C the name of the worksheet which is summarized in various fields/columns in that row. With 'Ctrl'-click I can jump to the first row of the referenced year in the referenced worksheet.

When a new year has to be added I simply copy the rows containing all summarizing formulas. The formula mentioned above becomes

=HYPERLINK(CHAR(35)&C71&".A"&MATCH(B71;INDIRECT(CHAR(39)&C71&CHAR(39)&".$A$1:$A$200");0);"GoTo")

Unfortunately the new (i.e. just copied function) function does not work now: 'Ctrl'-click does nothing, no pop-up window, no error message or whatsoever. Simply, nothing happens. In addition, the cursor which changes when hovering above a cell containing the hyperlink function does not change in the newly copied cell as it does change in the existing cells where 'Ctrl'-click functions as expected.

I have tried to change Libreoffice Options settings, but no success.

How can I get a working 'Ctrl'-click and jump to a certain cell in another worksheet in the same (spreadsheet)file?

In addition I create a simple Calc spreadsheet to see if there is indeed something going on. I have …

I have a personal finance sheet that has the pages:
summary   <-- main page
bank
pnc inv
vanguard

I go:
DATA->DEFINE RANGE
to give my cells understandable names.

From the main page (Summary) I have 4 cells:
1) =PncInterestRate
2) =InflationRate
3) =vanguardCurrentValue
4) =BankChecking

All 4 cells are defined as:
1) $'PNC Inv'.$B$6
2) $Summary.$D$2
3) $Vanguard.$B$8
4) $Bank.$B$1

The data from the main page Summary is the only one that doesn't work.  I get:
#REF!
for it.  All the other ones give the appropriate numbers.  Why can't I get data from the summary page ON the summary pae?

I wrote a program in Delphi XE2 that opens an OpenOffice spreadsheet, inserts some data, formats it & then prints it. It worked fine, albeit slowly.

I've just uninstalled OpenOffice (3.3) & installed LibreOffice (4.1.3.2). Now I get an error message:

Invalid class string progid com.sun.star.ServiceManager

I've tracked it down to the 6th line of this procedure:
procedure ConnectOpenOffice;
begin
  if IsOpenOfficeConnected then exit;
  Screen.Cursor:= crHourglass;      Application.ProcessMessages;
  try
    OpenOffice:=        CreateOleObject('com.sun.star.ServiceManager'); // <---- This line
    if isNullEmpty(OpenOffice) then    Raise EOOoError.Create(OOo_connectKO);
    StarDesktop:=       CreateUnoService('com.sun.star.frame.Desktop');
    disp:=              CreateUnoService('com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper');
    OOoIntrospection:=  CreateUnoService('com.sun.star.beans.Introspection');
    OOoReflection:=     CreateUnoService('com.sun.star.reflection.CoreReflection');
  finally
    Screen.Cursor:= crDefault;
  end;
end;

Open in new window

Not sure what to do next, as the above code is in this file:

I used to (2 weeks ago) use "getquote" to get the value of a stock ticker symbol.  I noticed my OpenOffice Calc retirement tracking spreadsheet (I look at stock values after the news occasionally) quit working.  I also noticed my "=getquote("SGENX")" formula changed to:

=com.ejs.ooo.getquote.getquote("SGENX")

I didn't do that and neither way currently works.  How do I get stock values in OpenOffice Calc?

Can do you put formatting rules into libreoffice calc?

I am trying to learn Perl.  THAT'S the main point of this question that I'm not sure is even possible.  I made a csv list of my libreoffice calc spreadsheet of my kindle books.  I would like to write a Perl script to format my csv list so that LibreOffice calc can open it and it's formatted as follows:

Swap between:
1) white text on a black background
2) black text on a white background
when the author changes.

I COULD do that manually but I want the script because this list changes daily.

Hello,

I have an application that uses OpenOffice 2.4 currently for a specific function to work. In order for the application to use OpenOffice, the following changes are required in the Setup.xcu file:
CHANGE FROM:
<prop oor:name="ooSetupInstCompleted">
  <value>false</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="ooSetupShowIntro">
  <value>true</value>
</prop>

CHANGE TO:
<prop oor:name="ooSetupInstCompleted" oor:type="xs:boolean">
 <value>true</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="LicenseAcceptDate" oor:type="xs:string">
 <value>2013-04-01T14:00:00</value>
</prop>
<prop oor:name="FirstStartWizardCompleted" oor:type="xs:boolean">
 <value>true</value>
</prop>

How do I make this change in Open Office 4.0?

Thank you,

Ashley

Google docs spreadsheet has a function: "googlefinance("ticker symbol")
to get the value of stocks.  Does LibreOffice Calc have an equivalent function?

I think:
1) Microsoft excel uses vba
2) Google docs spreadsheet uses javascript

Does Ubuntu's LibreOffice Calc similarly use a language for it's functions?

Hello,

  My company just purchased a Raspberry Pi unit.  With it, we would like to have a power point saved to the unit that will autorun on startup and loop continuously.  Once one is setup we will put 3-4 more throughout the building for tours.

  I have loaded Wheezy Rhaspian 7-26-13 onto the SD card and it runs fine.

  I put LibreOffice onto the system, and moved Libre-Impress.desktop into the .config/autorun folder.

  When I boot up, an error comes up when Libre-Impress tries to load, stating, /Home/pi/U% Does not exist.

  I am not sure what to do from here.

  Also, I would like a specific .pptx to auto load.  I already changed the macro file to allow me to auto format things such as full screen and invisible mouse.  At this point it is just the autorun/ autoplay feature that is required.

  Any help is appreciated.

Hello Experts,

I've created a set of tables in an OpenOffice database called Surveys.odb. I'd like to link or read records from tables in a MS  SLQ Server 2005. I've been able to create the connection to the server through OpenOffice but only using a seperate odb file called "RMS Connections.odb".

Can I create a link between the two odb files? I need to lookup transaction details in the MS SQL server from the Surveys.obd.

FYI, I can copy a table from MS SQL Server into the Survey.odb database, but that's less than ideal as the tables can be quite large. Also, how would I automatically update the copied table?

Thanks,

Ron

How do I save an OpenOffice (Writer) document in MS Word 2007 format?

I received four files from my customer in MS Word 2007 format. Because I only have MS Office 2010 Starter version, I opened these four files in OpenOffice to review the translations there (where I easily can insert comments, can't do this in MS Office Starter version).

But when trying to save in MS Office format, there is no option for saving as MS Word 2007, only very old versions of MS Office (2003, Microsoft Word 6.0 etc.).

So I wonder which saving alternative I should choose so that I can return the reviewed translation to my customer in the same file format as I received it in: MS Word 2007?

I need to do all the reviewing in OpenOffice, and then save as MS Word 2007.

I want to have a popup window display some progress information during the running of an OpenOffice basic macro.  That is, I want it to popup and then disappear on its own.  Is there a way to have a message box or dialog automatically close when used in an OpenOffice basic macro?  MsgBox requires the user to press a button and when I try using a dialog box they don't close with the .dispose, .endExecute, or .endDialog methods.   I've tried this in OOo3.3 on WinXP and RHEL 4, works the same on both.  Thanks.

I have a problem with LibreOffice Calc (v3.6.1.2) for Windows which seems to have been introduced with the current version because using v3.4 this didn't happen.

Users create a "Timesheet" with staff names in Col A, then entries like "8-6" in Col B onwards to note the hours worked (ie 8-6 means the member of staff worked from 8am to 6pm) which HR then process for the payroll.

With LibreOffice 3.4, that was fine.  Now, anywhere that 8-6 appeared, we now have numbers like 41098.  Attached are two XLXS files as examples: 8-6 shows fine in the first, I just created it in Excel 2010, then I opened it in LibreOffice 3.6 and it appeared as 41098.  Save the file (without making changes) then re-open in Excel and it stays as 41098.  The cell format stays as 'Text' throughout.

The only change from the defaults that I made in LibreOffice was for it to default to XLSX rather than ODS files, but as this was a file opened as an XLSX anyway it would've resaved in that format regardless of the default for new files.

Any ideas what is going on?
