im using debian, ubuntu, linux, mint, ext4 if that specific info helps

when saving a file from within notepad ap or from within the libreoffice word processor ap the exact same message box appears when saving to a file name that already exists.....  it warns that the file already exists and asks if one wishes to cancel or overwrite.....   does this identical message box originate from the application or the OS?   and is the fact that the file already exists determined within the ap or is the message box generated by info passed between the ap and the OS

rename fails when renaming to a filename that already exists but mv and cp overwrite with no warnings.....

Hi...,

I`m having the problem getting the default header value in OpenOffice Calc 4.1.3.

please give me solution.. :(

   Object oHeader = xStyleProps.getPropertyValue("LeftPageHeaderContent");
            if (oHeader != null) {
               XHeaderFooterContent xHeader = (XHeaderFooterContent) UnoRuntime
                  .queryInterface(XHeaderFooterContent.class, oHeader);

               XText xText = (XText) UnoRuntime.queryInterface(XText.class,
                  xHeader.getCenterText());

               if (xText != null)
                  xText.setString("testing");

I am trying to implement Linux workstations in the office which means using LibreOffice instead of Word. While Writer renders .doc[x] files pretty well, my users face the problem that sometime Writer will paginate differently than Word; in particular if there are charts, tables or forms that fit on one page in Word, but get split over two pages in Writer. Users feel that this makes Writer unusable as people cannot reference e.g. "page 13" from the original Word document and have it show correctly when viewed with Writer.

Has anyone run into this? Is there a solution?

Hi

I had this question after viewing Open office calc - Extract url from hyperlink..

As I have a lot of folder names inside the list of bookmarks thus the referenced version doesn't fully solve my problem but it did what it said.

I also tried the formula
= if (vartype=9,1,0)

Open in new window

but got #name? as a result.

And
=oCell.GetTextFields.getByIndex(0).URL

Open in new window

as a formula result in Err 501.

Would be happy about clear and competent help (free of charge).

Thanks
