I have an apple macbook that would not update, so we decided to wipe the drive and re-install.  However, when we attempted to do the restore we kept getting an error saying that "This item is not available at this time.  Try again later."
After a couple of days of this, I ordered an installation flash drive and attempted to install from that. I sees the flash drive but when I click to install from that it comes up with a circle with a line through it .  We did get into the utility and formated a new ssd drive but still cannot get any where with the machine.  Any help would be appreciated

Serious iCloud login problem from macOS HighSierra to iCloud

Attempt to login to iCloud from macOS HighSierra [10.13.6] with newly created Mac Mini password results in login locked out after 3 attempts to enter newly created password. This password was newly created to satisfy password requirement for iCloud login and works for cold start login. There was no previous password.

How to I [re]create iCloud login?

Hi! We have an office with an on-premise Exchange 2016 server and users are on Outlook 2013. We have an issue where one person we send emails to externally is receiving our attachments as .dat files when we send them Office files (Word/Excel). I tried having them send the mails in plain text, but that didn't change anything. What they can do is reply back to emails they receive from this user with their attachments and they are fine. The outside user is on a webmail email interface with Verizon on a Mac computer (i.e. just using their web browser to manage email use, so no Outlook client). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can try?

Hello Guys,

I need to build a simple ERP for my startup, which is about buying services.

Its input data will be taken from company's administration pages, i.e orders, customers, service etc.

So, 2 main issues:

a) How I can parse all those data from a protected (w/ password) page
b) Which drag n drop tool (like Filemaker) I should use, given I am not a professional programmer?

If this helps,  I am a Mac user.

Thank you

Dim.

MacOS.Mojave.Finder is not searching for enough files and folders, any longer.

I am not sure what has changed, but I did install Mojave. I can not recall if this started to fail before the upgrade.

When I type a key phrase into Finder, I no longer get folder names containing the search text. I NEED that feature of Finder to work, since I truly have no idea of my folder structure, since it is very convoluted.

Where can I look to reset any setting I may have accidentally set? Or setting that may be the defaults that came along with the upgrade to Mojave?

Thanks.

If I have a windows app, how can I run it on a MACBOOK?.
I heard there's a product you can buy that allows you to turn a portion of your MAC hard drive into a Windows PC?  And then load windows apps onto it.

Hi there just wondering is there away that you can export mailboxes in the  Mail application on a Imac. I found you can you export individually but I want to export all files for the email account rather then one at a time. Like in Outlook you can export a whole mailbox to a .pst

I have a Xerox AltaLink C8030 printer in the office and most of the computers are Windows-based but we have one MacBook(MacOs X High Sierra). I want that printer to be set up as it is for Windows computers. I set up 4 logical printers pointing to one physical printer, the first one is set up to print one side Black/White, the second one is set up for one side but in Colour, the third one is set up for 2sided Black/White and the fourth one is set up for 2sided Colour. I've read on the Apple support site that the options depend on software that you use but my question is whether there is a way to set up this printer as I mentioned above no matter what software we use since it's not a problem in Windows.

The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50) in Mac OSX High Sierra (10.13.4).

Hi all this is driving me nuts... I have 2 drives in my mac one system drive and one data drive that i also happen to have Google Drive synced to. Since forever i have had this annoying error come up but recently it has become more frequent to the point where it is a daily issue. I get the error each time i try to delete, move or add a file onto the data drive, no matter where. I think its a permissions error as i can pull the drive out, slave it via a sata to usb converter, and make changes/ delete files that way without issue. Sometimes files are moved to the trash bin but i can't empty it, the error shows instead, so i have to slave and delete.

I have done every check that can be done on a drive with Apples own disk utility (which subsequently doesn't work unless i slave the drive via the sata/usb converter mentioned previously... trying the First Aid option the normal way in Disk Utility results in an "Unable to mount drive error") and 3rd party tools such as DriveDx but theres none find any critical issue or signs of damage. DriveDX does  show some warning sign but i just can't imagine the drive is failing as is not very old.

If anyone can point me in the right direction i'd be very grateful. I want to avoid having to buy yet another drive, if i don't have to. But this is my work computer so I will resolve one way or another.

Thanks in …

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 model) that is currently running macOS Mojave (10.14.2) that is experiencing random crashes. This issue has been occurring for about a year now but has increased in frequency over the last month. When the issue first occurred it was only when it was removed from the power charger, now it is occurring on power or on battery. I have spoken with Apple Care about this and all they can suggest is that I take it into an apple store (unfortunately the nearest store is 100+ miles away). I have tried replicating the issue however I am unable to narrow down one specific action that causes the crashes - sometimes it is browsing the internet, sometimes it is typing a document in Word, sometimes it is editing a PDF, and sometimes it occurs when I just leave it sit for 30+ minutes.

Initially through online research I thought this was related to a battery issue. I opened the case and the LiPos were expanded so I replaced the battery. Unfortunately that did not resolve the issue. I have also tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC to no avail. Additionally I have tried booting into safemode but even in safemode I experienced a crash. There also does not appear to be any consistency to how frequently it reboots, some days I can go an entire day with only 1-2 crashes, other days it crashes every 10 minutes. I also wanted to note that this issue has occurred over the previous 2 OSX installations so it is not Mojave specific.

I have previous …

What reliable and secure VPN software will allow for this scenario.

Computer A needs to have the VPN server software installed.
Computer B needs to access computer A using a secure VPN protocol (which must not be the insecure PPTP protocol)
Once a connection has been established with Computer A from Computer B via VPN perhaps using L2TP/IPSec, then Computer B will use Microsoft RDP to remote in.
Both are Windows 10 computers, or Computer B may be a MAC, and Computer 10 will be Windows 10.

What reliable and secure VPN software can you suggest?
Thank you.

Hi, my personal assistant is on a Mac and she use some integrated Mac OS snipping tool and pastes the pics into her email for illustrating whatever problem.  The problem is no one sees her illustations.  On my iphone it simply says "image", on my PC it shows the error message below; and all outside clients say the same thing.  We can't view her snips.  What is she doing wrong?

User would like to watch Netflix while they are in Spain.

Do they need a VPN connection for that?   If so, what would be a good product for Mac OS?  They have Mojave.

Thanks

I have a new computer and can't get iCloud to sync (or even setup to sync for that matter).
I've installed office 365 personal on it. The computer is W10 Pro, Office Version 1811 Build 1102920108 click to run.
My understanding is that this is 2019

iCloud system requirements say 2007-2016.

When i try to select the sync with outlook when setting up iCloud I get the following error.

Outlook configuration problem
Setup can't continue because outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again.

there is a default profile and in Default apps all protocols that outlook can use are set to be defaulted to outlook

I think i need to install Office 2016 but cant find a way to do it from my microsoft account.  The only option for office 365 install is 32 or 64 bit.
When 2016 was out there was a way to choose to install 2013 if memory serves.

Can anyone tell me how to download and install Office 2016 from my Office 365 personal account (or pro if nothing else)

Secondly, is anyone successfully syncing Outlook calendars and contacts with iCloud?

Mac OSX, SSD file system: How to read the user folders ?

My Macbook Pro, died. I have removed the SSD drive and have it connected with an adapter for Mid-2012 connector, and it connects to a USB on the other end. from another MacBook,  I am prompted for user & password to open the drive. I can see all the folders, but, can't enter the folders.

I tried entering a password for the folders: the user-password from the system this drive came from  OR the password for the system this is connected to.

.../user/myuser/MOST FOLDERS are protected [Desktop, Documents, Movies, Pictures, etc...]

I am trying to recover the files, and looking for any guidance.

Do you find that it is helpful/pruduent to reload MacOSX "every once in a while" similar to how Windows users to so with their PCs.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2015 running 10.14.2 and it used responsive and never freeze for a few seconds or be slow to start up.  I've done all the optimization/clean up/memory elimination/et cetera I could to do it and it just doesn't feel "as good" as it is did originally.  However, I do use it daily (all day basically) for work.

Would a reload help or is the hardware just wearing out?

(I know there is one way to find out but I just wanted to get some opinion before I go to the trouble of doing a complete reload!)

Is it possible to have iCloud/iDrive on Mojave backup folders other than your desktop and documents (such as downloads)?

I have not been able to find a solution like that so far.

My client has recently re-installed Office (2016) software on her Mac (running Mojave) . The software appears to work and has been successfully activated. However she claims she had several hundred sub-folders under Inbox previously and they are no longer there. This is a btconnect email account accessed by POP and shows up in Outlook under a section called On My Computer (i.e. these folders probably only ever existed on the Mac and were never synced with a mail server. We have a TimeMachine backup of the whole Mac from before the Office re-install.  I have two related questions. 1. Is there a PST file or equivalent (OLM file has been mentioned) on a Mac which contains the Outlook folders shown in the On My Computer section in Outlook? 2. If so, how can I find it in my Time Machine backup. I am not overly familiar with Macs.
