New to MacBook.  I have a user we just hired into the company who requested a Mac, and we are a Windows shop.  I've been successful with installing some of our apps into it, but having a challenge with 2 things:

1) Cannot get it to join our domain

2) Cannot get Cisco AnyConnect to open after installing it successfully

If anyone can help me one or both of these items, it would be much appreciated.

With the domain join, it keeps giving me an error 5502 and says the join failed.

With the Cisco VPN, it tells me "No components loaded" and then won't open.  On w Windows PC, it opens a config screen and lets me configure the connection - Mac does not do this at all. This is a brand new MacBook Pro, btw.

Thanks for your help.

When I search Google, I'm directed to articles on downloading software often written by the third party offering said software. Another solution I saw was to create enough large files to consume both the free and purgeable space. How can I remove Purgeable Storage Space on Mac OS without downloading a third-party software?

Perhaps a better question is: do I even need to care about cleaning up my drives before I upgrade to Mojave from macOS High Sierra (v10.13.6)?

I am looking for Anyconnect 4.8+ version for Mac. Catalina is making my life miserable. I understand if I had a CISCO SmartNet this wouldn't be a question but anyone know anywhere else to obtain? ***insert laughing here

My wife is in medicine. She has to download an app to communicate with her office. After a couple of failed attempts,
she was locked out of the website, apparently by Apple.
She gets a message,  Jane Jones has been locked out from the site.
It won't let her in with the password or the finger print. Her work helpdesk couldn't help. They claimed it was an Apple problem.

I can still see the one that was colored in the past, but I could not find a way to color them with this version.

Hi All,

I am currently going to be upgrading a client from SEP to Bitdefender.   My question is they are currently running Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition.   My question is has anyone worked with this product and can I simply delete the installed agent machines from the portal and if so will this automatically uninstall the application from the Windows 10 and Mac machines or do I have to reboot them for the uninstall to complete?  Any assistance is appreciated.

When I click 'view', 'show sidebar'... the sidebar is grayed out.  :(

The wierd thing is a workaround I found. If I open the trash, I can see the sidebar in there, and then browse to where I need to be.

I've got 7000 TIF files that need to be combined into a single PDF and OCR'ed.

They are large. Like 0.5 MB per TIF. yikes. In total, about 3.5GB for PDF. NOT gonna be easy.

So what options are out there to batch compress them. Probably to jpg's.

I think once they're all down to a manageable file size, it should be easy to do the rest just with Mac Finder.

Let me know. Thanks!

:)

Is there an easy way to rename about 800 files on my Mac? Like maybe an app? or a built in utility?  I have a csv file. The first column has the list of the original file names. The 2nd column is the new file name I need to give it. Or maybe there is another way? Thanks for your help!

FYI. They are all TIF files.

Currently working on a late 2013 MacBook pro and it has started to freeze at random times, to the point it will reboot. I have done a time machine, formatted the hard drive, and reinstalled the basic OS and upgraded to the current OS. It seems to want to freeze without much reason or which program could be causing it. I have first aided the drive, and the diagnostics came back fine. What could be causing the freeze, and how hot does the outside of the laptop normaly run? As of right now, its anywhere from 117-115F above the row of Fkeys

Need to find space used on MacBook and space used by Parallel's/Windows

1) I am about to move my software development to Windows and no longer need my Parallel's/Windows 7 Partition.

I do have 97 GB devotes to that. How do I find the space savings by deleting that partition?

This file:
Windows 7 (1).pvm is 98.38 GB

Will I save that much space be deleting that file?

What if I want to reduce the size to a minimum?

2) Mac Question: How do I find how much space is free on the drive?
Is there about 50GB free?

Free Space
If I delete the Parallel's, will it really free up 97GB?

Thanks

rank—do you have any advice for opening a Mac Pages document on a PC?

The advice I see online says to use zip compression.  I followed all the steps but wound up with a JPEG document showing just the first page.  The article said the approach might not work, depending on the version of Pages, and apparently it didn’t.

The article says there are online converters, e.g. Zamzar.  Should I just do that?

Back in 2006 I had a friend write me a VBA script that checks pricing and box quantity for my 160+ Excel catalog part# and pricing files. I have a Master List Price Sheet and the VBA script will use the Part# as unique identifier and compare pricing and box quantity to the Master List. it will also copy those rows from the Master List into the Excel sheet into the empty columns on the right in the Single Excel sheet. If the pricing is different it will highlight the copied text red in the Single Excel price sheet.

I created a video to help show and explain how it works.
NOTE: I need the script to only "Find Entire Cells Only". I currently need to open the Find tool and select that before I run the script.
I also mentioned the Master Price sheet is 4,200 rows when its actually 42,000

PROBLEMS with Script:
1. Now that I am using Mac Excel 2019 v16.31 and not a PC computer,  the script is painfully slow. It was really fast on PC but on Mac takes long time for just one Excel doc thats only 300 rows long.

2. The script only makes the pricing text red if its different, I also need to highlight the box quantity text red if the box quantity is different.

VIDEO: https://www.loom.com/share/cdb5f27e684e44fdbb2cb3acb7165468

The VBA Module script is in the catalogPRICING.xls file

I'm experiencing a new crazy issue.  I have about 9 MAC computers on a network with mostly Windows PCs.  I have a windows 2012R2 DC, with AD, DNS, DHCP, etc...
If the Macs use a static IP, everything works fine, the hostname stays what is configured by the user.

As soon as I change the manual IP to DHCP on the MAC, after a reboot, the hostname of the PC randomly changes to a windows PC name.
It's completly random, as different MACs use different windows PC names.   Where do I even begin to troubleshoot this issue.

I am running different versions of the mac, on most of the macs, i'm running Mojave.  A few are running Catalina.
