I have a Mac with PowerPoint:mac 2016 on it plus a Parallels VM with Windows 10 and PowerPoint 2016 (PC).

For training sessions, I'd like to be able to connect a projector so that I can present, using Presenter View on the Mac display and display the slide show on the projector.

I also need to to be able to toggle views to show PowerPoint (PC) in mirrored mode (same view on Mac display and projector) so that I can demonstrate various techniques.

The challenge seems to be that these two needs appear to conflict with each other.

I have managed to present using PowerPoint:mac in Presenter View and then swipe OSX monitor spaces to get to PowerPoint PC in Normal View for the demo element but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the Windows environment to invoke display monitoring, independent of the OSX spaces.

There are so many places to setup monitor properties including:

1. OSX : System Preferences / Displays (for mirror/extend) + Mission Control (for spaces)
2. Parallels : Options / Full Screen + View types (full/coherence etc.)
3. Windows : Notifications / Project (Duplicate / Extend)

Is there a way to achieve my objective? My environment:

OSX Yosemite (10.10.5)
Parallels Desktop 11.2.1
PowerPoint:mac 2016 Version 16.8 (171114)
Windows 10 x64
PowerPoint:PC 2016 Version 1711 Build 8711.2037

I recently imported a ton of photos to my Photos app in the Mac. There were about 12,000 photos. But when importing them, I've ended up with 36,000. ack! So I realized that this is what happened:

I used to have a Windows Vista computer. That's where these old pictures used to be stored. Now they're on a portable hard drive, but I wanted to add then to my Photos App so they will back up in the cloud.

Here is what is see. If I have a picture name IM004244.JGP.  Then there is a folder named IM004244.JPG.files in this folder there are two pictures as "vcm_s_kf_m160_160x120.jpg"  and "vcm_s_kf_repr_640x480.jpg" these are identical pictures as IM004244 original (except different sizes).

I want to get rid of all that crap. Good grief, Vista sure knew how to mess things up.

This is what I'm seeing (see screenshot)

Messed up, isn't it?

This is what I've tried so far. I bought Gemini 2 to remove duplicates. The software just crashes after working a couple hours.

Also, I did a search on the SSD for all files called vcm_s_kf_m160_160x120.jpg  and vcm_s_kf_repr_640x480.jpg and deleted them. (Note: I did this directly on the SSD and not via the Photo app). I don't think that has helped. My Photos app is very unstable now. It's probably trying to retrieve the lost files from iCloud.

What should I do next?

I'm thinking the best would be to restore the Photos app from the Time Capsule and start. If that's what you recommend how…
I am running a Apple MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016) and OSX 10.13.1 (17B48) as a company note book. Today it is the 3rd time i discovered item in my trash which do not belong to me. I can not say if this has happened before nor how long this is already happening. I found this more or less by accident. The files must belong to one of my colleagues. I have colleagues running PC's and Mac's. We are working in a co-working-space where we use our own router but use the network from the landlord. All trash items so fare where just colleague stuff wich i know from the content of course. the first time i discovered this i turned of all kind of file-sharing etc... but it keeps on happening.
I have trouble getting the drive to install properly with a IRISScan Pro 4 on Window 7. I am running Windows under Parallels on a Mac El Capitan. But, that should not matter.

What steps can I follow to first get the program to install correctly?

The user has to submit photos that show a visible timestamp
They have an iPhone 6
They would prefer some sort of Mac App that could take the creation time from the metadata and then place it on the JPEG.
How do I check the disk utilized on my 500GB flash drive?

Then, how do I find a list of files, in order of file size?

Mac mini (OSX 10.13.1) failed to boot into home page.

1. Recovered using Recovery Mode. All OK for using Apps/Files.
2. Reformatted USB HD Time Machine
3. Backed up MacMini with Acronis True Image 2018 - deleted/recovered sample file OK
4. Reinstalled formatted Time Machine & set to 'backup automatically" in System Preferences.

Later, Viewing Time Machine in "Go Computer", returns under Backups.backupbd... "2017-11-20-090217.inProgress"

Repeated steps 2 & 4, same result.

How do I get Time Machine to backup MacMini and display backup history?

I have erased the data on the drive from the drive utility and now about to reinstall the OS but it required me to enter the apple ID and password and then I get This item is temporarily unavailable.  I tried a few things such as making sure the format of the drive was Extended and Journaled, tried a another apple ID and no luck. I have another Mac Book Pro right here that I just reloaded but this system didnt require me to do the apple ID and it running os 10.8.5.  Any suggestions or what I am doing wrong??

Hi, I have a client that would like to be able to view his Emails and Tasks within Outlook at the same time.  He has Outlook 2016 running on MAC.

I'm currently encountering an issue with Java Development under Eclipse IDE on Mac OS X.

Eclipse cannot terminate the program, when stopping by pressing the stop-button. When i start the program in debug mode, however it can terminate the program. On Windows I also do not have this issue.

When running the .jar-file on mac, also the program cannot be terminated correctly, on Windows there is no problem.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Any hints appreciated.

BR Klaus

Hello Experts. I have a Mac Pro running Mac OS 10.10.5. There is a Smalltree 4-port NIC installed that I use for iSCSI connections to our SAN.  Each NIC is on its own subnet. My question is, how do I keep the 4 ports I use for the SAN from registering their IPs on my DNS server. I want the Mac's LAN to register but not the iSCSI connections. When they register, it messes up name resolution. I've tried entering just to see if would suffice but it didn't. I appreciate your time!
In my other question Setup Time Machine backup notifications serialband provided the following code (taken from the https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/31444/send-background-email-alert-if-time-machine-backup-fails) website for sending email notifications whenever a Time Machine backup fails.

Please modify this code so that email notifications will also be sent whenever there are successful Time Machine backups and whenever Time Machine reports any errors or warnings. I need to be notified about everything having to do with Time Machine backups.

  tmutil latestbackup
    date "+%Y-%m-%d"
mail -s "TimeMachine Failure Report from $HOSTNAME" "This mac needs attention"

end tell
property theSubject : "TimeMachine Failure Report from "

set tm to do shell script "/usr/bin/syslog -F '$Time $Message' -k Sender com.apple.backupd -k Time ge -59m | tail -n 3"

I am having an issue on an iMac running macOS 10.12.6 (Sierra) and Outlook 2011 (14.7.7). When they try to send emails sometimes an email will get stuck in the outbox and give the error "-108 Not enough memory".

What I have tried:
-Rebuilding the database
-Removing the database and creating a new one
-Updating the macOS and Outlook 2011 to their latest versions
-Removing and adding their email to Outlook 2011
-Uninstalling/Reinstalling Outlook 2011

Things I know:
- If they close out of Outlook 2011 and reopen the program it will then send the email that was stuck in the outbox.
- It does not alway happen when sending to the same email address and has happened with or without email attachments.

Hoping someone has seen this error in the past and found a fix for it.

I have an exchange email defined at a MAC, everything works well.
But the problem is when i try to attach any file with any size to the email it stuck in the outbox and i don't know why.
And i have tried to use OWA in order to insert an attachment it works well but the main problem is when i try to insert an attachment using MAIL in MAC

Its urgent plz help

What software or methods can I use to setup Time Machine backup notifications within macOS Sierra v. 10.12.6?

I have already tried and don't like TMNotifier.

What other methods or utilities are available so I can be notified by email whenever a Mac user's Time Machine backups succeed, fail, or have errors or warnings?
How do I export from Mac Mail to Microsoft outlook.

Is there such a program for Mac? (outlook 2016)
Hello. I have two MACs with Outlook 2016 on them. They are properly configured to send and receive mail via our Exchange 2016 servers. They connect and receive mail just fine. Sending is the issue. I have worked a decent amount with Outlook for MAC with Exchange and have never seen this before. When we send an email, it makes it to the Exchange server. We know this because the email sent from Outlook 2016 for MAC shows up in the Outlook for Windows 'Sent Items'. The problem is, that mail in the 'Sent Items' that has been sent from the Outlook for MAC has an envelope icon and you must click and 'Send' the email from the Outlook for Windows 'Sent Items' folder. Once we do that, the email continues on to it's destination. Like I said, I have never seen this before and I cannot really find anything like it on the web. Any and all help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I want to connect the iMac to additional two monitors .
So the iMac will be in the middle and one monitor on each side.

Now when I tried it , I got an error , that it's taking too much of the computer resources .

What is the est way to accomplish this?
