I would like to ensure that any folders or files created on a MAC always have full access to both administrators that use the MAC.
It seems that a folder was created however the permission on the folder was only based on the user that was accessing the MAC at that time, that was logged in.
I would like the permissions to show for both Admins - and I would like this automatically configured for any and all files and folders that are created on the MAC.
Is this possible?

Team,

I need a help on creating bat file script for outlook profile creation. I will be using GPO to deploy the script along all the workstations/ laptops connected to the domain, so that user don't need to manually configure the outlook. Also can some one also suggest me if its possible to include outlook rules in the script?

Also please note that this is for a Mac.

Can anyone please let me know the procedure, how to accomplish this?

Thanks

Hello!
I have a user who uses a Macbook Air that is on MacOS Mojave 10.14.3. He has an issue where he connects to the network drives on our file server and after some time encounters this exact issue:

http://www.thursby.com/why-does-it-say-connection-failed-when-i-click-server-sidebar

I wanted to ask if anyone has any new information on it since his OS version is definitely a few steps up from what are described as the problematic versions? Or if anyone has found a cause for it that can be mitigated? The only third party softwares he has are Office 2016 for Mac, Webex client with Outlook add-in, and SEP 14. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Weird phenomenon here ... I'm trying to share an Outlook 2016 calendar from person A with person B's Mac:

- the shared calendar is visible in person B's web mail interface
- it's not visible in person B's Outlook 2016 for Mac interface
- it's not visible in person B's iCal

Even after having clicked on 'accept calendar' and then 'show calendar' in Outlook 2016 for Mac on person B's Mac it simply switches to display the default calendar, the shared calendar doesn't appear ... (except, as indicated above, in the web mail view)

Any ideas!? Thanks!

Is there an IP address block list manager for the latest versions of OS X similar to Peer Block or Peer Guardian?  I need the ability to block communication between my Mac and thousands of IP addresses without slowing things down.  The block list manager should be able to import a list containing hundreds of thousands of IP addresses in a common format and prevent incoming and outgoing communication between the Mac and IP addresses in the list.

I recently removed a Mac from the domain.  Problem is I didn't copy a users folder before this happened, and now I don't have access permissions to the folder because it was a domain user account.  How do I gain local access to the folder's contents without rejoining the mac to the domain?

We are using InDesign CS6 (for reasons), installed via Adobe Creative Cloud, installed on Mac OSX 10.13 and 10.14 Macs. Users are encountering frequent crashes. I believe the crashes are caused by incompatibility between InDesign CS6 and 10.13 / 10.14 . But, I can't yet DEFINITIVELY prove this. I believe a transition from CS6 to CC 2017 or later is needed. Can someone please provide the undeniable proof of this for me, or suggest a fix? All machines have the same fonts, are the same hardware, on the same network, etc.

Thanks!

I have a user using an iMac, I'm not sure of the OS right off, but I think he's good about keeping his system up to date.

Adobe Premiere keeps crashing on his machine.  Naturally, I want to look at the application logs to see what is happening.  I have an administrator permissioned account credentials, so I'm logging in there. I look in the logs and I don't see anything there that indicates a crash.  In fact, it doesn't look like there's much of anything in this machine's logs at all.  This makes me think that perhaps logs are user specific and that I need to be logged in as him to find what I'm looking for.

Am I just looking in the wrong place for the logs that I'm looking for (I don't understand OS X logging just yet), or is my problem more likely or encouraged by the fact  that I need to be logged in as that specific user to get to the logs I need?

Hi,

I have just registered a new business with Google For Business (GFB) to avail of a company Google mail account using my new domain name.

I already use GFB for two other separate business emails, and I've never has a problem with either of this email accounts.

I am not facing 3 problems with my new account:

01 - on iOS Mail i don't see an option to select Push under 'Fetch New Data'... I just have Fetch or Manual... where as my other domain accounts have 'Push, Fetch or Manual'

02 - on iOS Mail, when i swipe left I don't get a delete option... where on my other domain accounts it 'deletes' the email

03 - on Mac Mail (desktop), I get strange behaviour with my mailboxes under the 'On My Mac' section. If you look at the screenshots you will see that the new mailbox has both a number on it and it expands with a drop down, however none of the other mailboxes in 'On My Mac' expand like this. This is really annoying as the number keeps grabbing my eye. Does anyone know how to remove this... and / or why is it showing number in All Mail and Important in the drop down.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    NSView *viewce = [[NSView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, heightOnPanel, 320, 40)];
    NSButton *layerBt = [[NSButton alloc] initWithFrame:NSMakeRect(0, 0, width, height)];

    [layerBt setTitle:textValue];

    [layerBt setButtonType:NSMomentaryPushInButton];
    [layerBt setTarget:nil];
    [layerBt setAction:@selector(buttonPressed:)];
    [viewce addSubview:layerBt];

    return viewce;
}

Hi Expert,

I have a user which he changed password in windows (domain account), then he's unable to login to his Macbook Pro(High Sierra) with the old or new password, at the first places he keep trying the new password and get his domain account locked as check from backend, unlock it and use old pw does not work, it's due to not sync to the keychain. I, however, unable see any or the keychain with the domain admin login and local admin. I find no way to delete keychain, there is missing of Preferences-> General to reset the default keychain.

I used the mac reset password method and after I put the password for the  Macintosh HD I am getting "This user has been temporarily locked. Try again later.

Appreciate if any expert can advise me on as I am not pro on MAC.

Add exchange account to Apple MAC Mail

I am trying to add my Exchange email account to Apple MAC Mail, it prompts me for email address and password, I type in my email address, Password, then click "Continue", it gives me error about incorrect user name and password , but the window now is different,  it adds a field to type in user name , I typed in mydomain\myusername and it  also adds 2 more fields to fillout  Internal Link and External Link. I type in the URL for OWA on internal and external links but it does not help. I type autodiscover.mydomain.org    and still does not help.

Any help on how to get my emails on MAC mail ?

Thank you

How to copy MacOS index database to another Mac computer?

We have Mac users on a network accessing network shares from Windows 2012 R2 server.  Some Mac users cannot search on the network shares while a few can.  Is there a way to take the already indexed database from the user that can search and "apply" it to the other users?

Thanks,

I want to see a list of files that are currently backed up by time machine while the backup is running.

Is there no backup log file (plain text) that is written to? Only database structure or special application internal information?

I would like to see what is going on...

Thanks a lot for your help

(running actual MacOs, Time Capsule).

I have a zip file containing tab-delimited text files that are exported from a modeling software. Rather than opening each file individually in Excel to change the data and then exporting each file to a .txt file and then zipping the whole collection up again, I would like to program a macro to do the following (using MacPro Excel):

1) In an Excel workbook with a macro that opens (from a specified location on my computer) all the files in the zip file and puts each .txt file in a separate sheet in the workbook. The name of each worksheet corresponds to each .txt file name in the zipped file. For instance, File1.txt and File2.txt

2) In the same workbook, have another macro that saves all the worksheets by their original file names and creates a zip file at a specified location on my computer with a specified name.

Both the number of files in the zip file and the number of fields in each .txt file will vary depending on the version of the model so the macro needs to open all the files in the zip file.

Accompanying is a sample zip file
