Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 9.0 will not start on the server.  GP 9.0 installed on a server and was running properly with two clients computers.  One client computer died.  Installed client on another desktop.  Client Install appears to have been successful.  The client sees the server, the database and accepts "sa" or a user's login. Then the Client has to shut down because its version is not the same as on the server.  The GP_Login Errors.log lists the products that are not the same version.

MS Dynamics GP Database version 90274 Client version 90114
Advanced Security db ver 90258 client 90114
Cash Flow Mgt db ver 90258 client 90114
Smartlist db ver 90258 client 90114
PO enhancements db ver 90258 client 90114
Report Scheduler db 90258 client 90114
Field Service db ver 90264 client 90114
Excel-based budgeting db ver 90258 client 90114

I can't get the program to open on the server to try and push out client updates.  When I try to run GP or GP Utilities, Distributed Process Manager opens, but it does not have any options to select except "Close."

Also, DPM shows up on the taskbar, but will not maximize.  If I run task manager, I can "switch to" it, but the only option available is "close."

I have tried running GP or GP Utilities from a remote connection and on the server itself.  The result is always the same.

Currently, do not have access to the other client computer.

I've searched here and on the GP KB for possible fixes.

I already know…

CRM 2016 IIS Configuration only showing one of my organizations:  I have two orgs on my Deployment Manager, the first is an out of the box configuration with Sample data and the second is my actual Development server which I have upgraded to Dynamics 365.

Our system admin configured a SSL wild card token, added Active Directory Tools and added DNS A records to resolve to the IP of CRMTEST.

In IIS only the Sample company appears under Sites, I need to add our org that contains all the real data, entities and forms (Microsoft Dynamics CRM2).

I started to bind the token in IIS Manager and saw that only the sample company appears,  See the screen shot below.  The area outlined in yellow is our current configuration.  I need to add Microsoft Dynamics CRM2 (or replace the Sample company with Microsoft Dynamics CRM2)  Note: I need to keep the Default site to Install and configure ADFS 3.0

Need to add another site

I have successfully integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Office 365 and Outlook 2016 by following the steps in this URL.

Now I need to setup & use Dynamics 365 to query all emails within an Office 365 email account and extract the contact information contained in the email signature area (name, address, company name, phone numbers, website address, etc). This info is usually found in the user's signatures at the end of their emails (see the email signature examples below). I need all this info extracted and used to create & update individual Outlook contacts for each user.

Please provide me with instructions on how this can be done.

If any further information or explanations are needed please let me know.

I am upgrading CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 for two organizations (CRMTEST and CRMPROD).  The plan is to upgrade each org to newer CRM versions to get to Dynamics 365 (so CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 to CRM 2015 to CRM 2016 to Dynamics 365)

My question is: we have built one CRM server to Dynamics 365 specs and one SQL Server built to Dynamics 365 requirements.  Is it recommended to have separate servers for  the CRMTEST org and CRMPROD org?  Given our current VMs, we would need to upgrade to a single set of servers, with CRMTEST and CRMPROD on the same Dynamics 365 servers.

The current CRM 2011 environments have separate servers for CRMTEST and CRMPROD.  What could be the problems with both TEST and PROD on the same servers?  For example, could this cause issues with refreshing CRMTEST with CRMPROD?

Thanks

We have a deployment of Dynamics CRM 4.0 which we are upgrading to CRM 2016.  We have set up a virtual machine each for CRM 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 (with all but 2016 being temporary).  We have it working successfully in CRM 2011 by backing up the SQL database, restoring, then importing the organization in Deployment Manager.

However, when following the same procedure on the 2013 we have the following error, which blocks the import:

"The JavaScript web resources in your system contain a reference to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (2007) Web service endpoint. The 2007 endpoints are not supported in this release. For information about how to upgrade custom code, refer to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 SDK topic "Upgrade Your Code from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM".
We have detected the presence of legacy component(s) during upgrade, these components are not supported in Dynamics CRM 2013. Please refer to upgrade log file ...\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\LegacyFeatureCheck.xml for more information.."

The LegacyFeatureCheck.xml log shows "Web resource serviceappointment_ribbon.js contains a reference to the 2007 web service endpoint".

This resource is no longer required, as far as we know - so we could either fix it, or remove it.  The people who programmed this in CRM 4.0 have left the company.

How can we either fix the error, or remove the resource so that it no longer blocks the upgrade?  We have no knowledge of CRM programming.

I am in the process of upgrading CRM 2011 to CRM 2016 and want to know the feasibility/issues encountered of splitting a full server environment into front-end/back-end servers

The common wisdom has been that this is very difficult and not worth the time.  I would like some up to date information on this, however, since I have not encountered a full-server installation during the last five years.

This is not a highly customized or really large installation.  There are managed solutions from PowerObjects and a limited number of Jscript web resources and plugins.

I would like some advice from someone that has done this process recently and what they encountered, positive or negative.

Thanks

We are upgrading from CRM 2011 to CRM 2016 on a new set of VMs.  The plan is to do a migration upgrade from CRM 2011 to CRM 2013.  Once we are on the new VMs and CRM 2013 we will do in-place upgrades to CRM 2015 and CRM 2016.

My question is: what is the quickest and best way to upgrade in-place from CRM 2016 to Dynamics 365 for Sales?  I have read several online articles about going from CRM 2016 to Dynamics 365 but I am not sure what the best practice is and how to leverage the CRM 2016 server to do an in-place upgrade to Dynamics 365.

Hi

I am looking for a Microsoft Cloud accounting system for a small operation.
I need to be able to send data to the accounting system from an ASP.net web app.
Is this possible with Microsoft Dynamics?
If not is there a better option?

Hi,

Is it okay to install EX, SP and CRM on the same server or should I create separate VMs for each of them?
Can I integrate all these on a one domain?
Pros & Cons, Recommendations?

We are working with Dynamics 365 CRM (on-premise) and using a custom front-end developed with ADX.

My issue is that ADX allows a CRM quote or order to be shared with the same user more than once.  When this is done, we receive an error message: "Cannot insert duplicate key."  (It is my understanding that this is the default Dynamics error).

What I want to do is replace this with a more user-friendly message like: "This order has been already shared with that sales person".

I am looking for the best approach to transform the default error message to the user-friendly message.

Thank you

Hello:

In our Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 SP2 environment, we created VBA code on an inquiry window.  We tested the code thoroughly beforehand, within a test environment, and the code had been working perfectly for weeks.

Then, about two weeks ago, a GP end user received VBA error messages on top of the fact that the code stopped working.

I had to copy the code from the Visual Basic Editor, remove the window from Visual Basic, re-add the window and its fields to Visual Basic, and paste the code into the Visual Basic Editor.  Afterward, the errors went away and the code worked again.

Why did these steps have to be taken?

By the way, I'm an Administrator on the Terminal Servers and the VBA code had stopped working for me as well as for the end users.

Thanks!

John

I am looking for an eConnect method that will add an Item Warehouse record,  I am currently doing this using GP Web Services call CreateItemWarehouse(), but we find this to be much slower than using eConnect.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

I have lead form in Dynamics CRM. In javascript, how can I capture SAVE button event in CRM? The save button is on the top of the CRM. Basically, all i need is when someone click on save button, it will validate one field called 'firstname' and ensure it has value.

That's all.

Thanks
