Does anyone know the table name for the divisions and departments in the HR module?   In the Positions History screen, I need to show the division and department number and not the name.  In the attached file, it shows the text description for the div and dept and I need to pull the numbers

I have a client that when he goes into Production Order Detail then clicks on the BOM, the window starts to open normal then shrinks down to about 1" wide by 1 1/5" tall see attached file. Looks like the window needs to be stretched but can not change the size no matter what we do.

it’s possible that when someone here at The company accepts a CRM case, if you can somehow have CRM or C360 send an email to the individual who accepted the case?.  I know now when a customer sends in a case, they receive an Acknowledgement email saying that The company has received the case.

I am customizing the Case form and need to be able to retrieve the Ship Date, Invoice Number, Invoice Date and PO Number fields from an order based on the Order Number I retrieve via a custom lookup I created.  I need a JavaScript example I can copy and modify to obtain these values so I can dynamically populate these fields on my form.
Thanks.

Hello,

I have a client running Dynamics GP 9.00.0310 with a SQL Server 2000 database.

I have a database server running SQL Server 2008 R2 and a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 that I would like to move Dynamics GP to.

What are the steps involved in moving the databases from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008 R2 and then installing the same version of Dynamics GP onto the server running Windows Server 2008 R2?

Thank you

We are running MS Dynamics CRM 2011 (newly upgraded) and have added the address of the CRM server to our DNS settings so people on the internal network can reach it without having to enter a long server name (we called it companycrm and pointed the host record to the IP address).  We would like to be able to have our users simply type in companycrm and hit the CRM web interface, but right now they need to type http://servername:5555/companycrm in order to get to the site, which for most people is way too much.

Any pointers from any IIS or CRM experts out there?

Hi,
We are a small business (4 full time users) which organises courses and conferences which requires an up-to-date CRM solution that will allow us to store contacts (up to 100,000) with a number of user defined fields and marketing capabilities. I also need remote access via tablets and smartphones.

Currently we have CABC's Maximizer from I think 2002. This does its job but is not compatible with anything 64bit and we need a new server and client PCs.

I could upgrade this software but it has a huge limiting factor in the marketing bit - it only allows email shots to go to one email address. Many many of our customers have 2 email address and I don't want to have 2x records per person!

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks,
Jack

Running Business portal 5x. I have one user that is continuely giving me problems. They had a name change, it was changed in active directory then in BP and they logged in fine. But ever few days they get locked out and account has to be recreated again because BP somewhere is looking for their old name even though its not in active directory. I got the following message in the BP event viewer:

UserManager  VerifyUser  262  domain\user is not in UserWindowsIdentity table.

and the domain\user listed is their old name which they are not using to log in with anymore, it was changed in AD. I know this isn't much info but anyone have any ideas?  I did not locate the UserWindowsIdentity Table anywhere in the BP database.

Thanks

iFRAME in Microsoft CRM 2011

We have an iFRAME built into the Contact form. CRM passes the login info to our website and then we display a custom page with information taken from outside the CRM.
We’ve switched from IFD to internal network use (turned off claim based authentication) and now the iFRAME cannot pass the website’s login.
The other parts of the CRM are working fine.

What is the easiest/fastest way to debug this?

Can SharePoint 2010 and Dynamics CRM 2011 use the same reporting server (SSRS) on an SQL instance?

I am attempting this type of setup and I would not like to purchase additional licensing?

Thanks,

Hi -

I'm presently working on a project to help our group implement Great Plains accounting software for our finance team. We're having some issue with the correct licensing required for operating the Great Plains software using RDS for the accounting team.

If you had to start from scratch - no licensing purchased or MSFT server infrastructure - and built an environment with the end result of allowing 15 Great Plains users that were sharing 10 desktops among the 15 users how would you construct the environment.

I know this is a broad ranging question but the licensing for Office, Server 2012, SQL Server, SQL Server CAL, Great Plains Users, RDS Client CALS (user/device), Server CALs (user/device) gets to be quite complicated and I'm having a hard time assessing what of our existing infrastructure needs to be changed to be compliant.

The Requirements for End Users Would Be:
Great Plains Access
RDS Server Access
Domain Access
Office Access
Desktop Access (OEM PRO OS included)

Clients and Users:
15 Users
10 Desktops

Infrastructure Needed (that I know of):
MSFT Server (DC, etc etc)
SQL Server (Great Plains)
MSFT Server (RDS)

I know some of the more complex items revolve around how Great Plains is licensed per user and what relationship that interaction would require for SQL Server licensing CALs. As they'll be accessing office via the Remote Desktops and locally on the desktops, how will this affect Office licensing. RDS CALs in my estimate would …

This question was asked previously and I got an answer as far as getting the query to run much, much FASTER!    I am now posting this to SQL experts to find out why UNION ALL resolved the issue of the query running 3 hours vs 4 seconds.

This is the initial query that ran for 3 hours.  Victoria Y.  changed this to UNION all as opposed to using the "OR" statement and it now runs in 4 seconds.  Can anyone explain why UNION ALL worked and not the way it is written here?  THANKS!

The attached SQL view is taking 3 hours to run -- yes 3 hours.  I never heard complaints about it until this month-end close when a user needed to send data out to users.  The view is used in a SmartBuilder list which is rolled down as a SmartList so that users can place parameters on the dates and account number based on the departments they are responsible for.

It taking so long, it hangs up GP. P.S. There are 422635 rows in GL00105 but running this alone only takes 5 seconds.

I have using the Client/Contact Entities to manage our sales force clients, so that each sales person can only see his/her own clients.   However, I have another set of contacts that  deal with our company.  They are our supplier.  Their info should be added or modified and viewed by all users of the CRM.
I have a design questions for this scenario.  Should I put all the contact into the same Client/Contact Entities?  How will I setup the security structure to allow  my scenario?  Or should it be better to create a new Client/contact entities just for supplier.  What will be the pro and con for two different approaches?

We are using Microsoft Dynamics 10 on a SQL 2005 server.  I have a new computer that is Windows 7-64 bit.  I can't get this computer to see the ODBC driver that I have setup.  I believe my issue is that I need a SQL driver specifically for 64 bit.  Can anyone help me with this issue?

Hello Experts,

I am trying to update my Microsoft Dynamics RMS system to Feature Pack 2. I've followed the pre installation instructions provided with the update, but when I go to run the installer on the server hosting the database, I get an error telling me something to the effect of "all clients must have a .net version of 3.5 or above installed".

Fair enough, but on closer inspection, the host has a .net version that was 3.5 or better. I upgraded it to 4.5 anyway, which didn't make a difference. I then went to each client and installed the new .net version. This didn't work either. (Does the database host even know what .net version each client is running???)

I even went back to .net version 4 on the host, which also didn't work.

I don't believe I had any clients running the Administrator, Manager, or POS software at the time, and I'm pretty sure I upgraded all of my clients to the new version of .net.

I tried installing the update on a client, and it installed without problem (I haven’t used that client on the system since).

What am I doing wrong? I get the feeling that it is something on the database host that is stopping the install.

Database host: Operating system is Server 2008 Foundation Edition. Database is SQL 2005 express as standard with the original RMS install. The .net version is currently version 4.

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Hello,
I need help with creating a CRM 2011 workflow that does the following:
For a set of users, for every email that gets tracked via Outlook (or created within Web application), automatically create a Note that will include the subject, sender, recipients, direction (sent or received). A Note needs to be created for each party in the email and, if they are contacts, for their Parent Account if one exists.
And, to add even more complexity, create a Note to the Regarding: entity
While picking dynamic fields is easy enough, I see the biggest challenge in creating an if else condition.
If a Contact has a Parent Account, create a note for the Contact and the Parent Company
Else
Create a note for the Contact
Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Once again, I've come up against a conundrum. My Managing Director doesn't want the Sales Team to be able to view Account records containing active customers (custom field Company Status).

Unfortunately, that's not easy to do. Disabling the Advanced Find button for those Users should be possible through editing the Main ribbon, though doing it for all entities will be a pain.

I can create the default views for Account to exclude Accounts with a Customer, then create and share personal Views including Customer Accounts with those who need them.

But if I can't find a way to stop a user creating a personal view of Accounts via the various methods of doing so, all that work is for nothing. Preventing them saving views is easy, a setting in the Security Roles, but stopping them creating one in the first place seems near impossible.

The alterative would I assume be a post-event triggered plug-in that filters any Responses to Account requests to strip out records with the Company Status set to Customer, based on User or Security Role, but how do I do that? Is the User GuID even included in a Request/Response for me to go interrogate the database about them?

Sorry if I seem helpless, but I'm still learning about plug-ins.
