Hi

I am tyrying solve a VSS writers error I'm getting in BA 12.5. I need to dismount the first and second mailbox store, however I cannot find them under EMC. Please see attached screen shot. Why can't I see them? I have rebooted the server but still no sign of them.
I'm using Exchange 2007 with SBS08 all updates are applied.
Can anyone help?

Sorry I selected MS Enterprise Zone and not MS Exchange zone!

I recently had an issue installing Microsoft Office Visio Pro 2007. When i attempted to install the program, an error occured and would not install the program. I attempted to uninstall MS Office enterprise 2007, but could not through "Add/Remove Programs". Ran the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility thinking that the installation files may have become corrupted. The utility performed successfully and all installation files had been removed, i restarted the computer and attempted to reinstall MS Office Enterprise 2007, but after a few moments an error stated, "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 encountered an error during setup". No error number was given and now i'm stuck. I have yet been able to install any MS Office software.

We just set up MS SCCM 07 and I had a couple questions.

1. How do I set it up to force install of Windows update packages to all the clients at a set time?

2. If people use the build in Windows Update in XP, does it overide SCCM?  If so, how do I disable that?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm looking to develop a process that will help to maintain the performance levels of the windows xp machines in our enterprise. I support about 250 windows xp computers, so ideally i'd like to automate this process. often times users complain that their pcs are "slow." often times i will just image a new computer and switch out their old one. however, this is less than ideal as this process can take quite a bit of time. I've read several articles about windows tweaks, etc. but the majority of these articles are aimed at home users rather than enterprise users. any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks !!

Hello,
As you may know, on the http://www.codeplex.com you can find Microsoft open source tools and scripts that help you in your IT infrastructure.
A tool for pushing Microsoft FCS to the clients was written and it was considered by me a nice tool, but now it doesn't working anymore.

As nothing was changed, i don't know what to do.
I tried using this tool from another computer but still nothing productive.

I receive the following error message.

IP 10.113.12.231 is the IP address of the target installation PC.

Thanks!!

In FRX the machine name can't be resolved with the share \\g8wnhc1\frxwebport\ in windows explorer (when it is disconnected from a network) ...the true path is c:\program files\frxwebport\

Its like the computer can't identify itself.

any thoughts?

How to start of with enabling Autodiscover?

I'm going to ask a question that I'm pretty sure I know the answer too, but I have an integrator insisting I'm wrong.  So here it goes.

Even with all the latest patches/service packs.  Microsoft  Windows 2003 R2 Cluster Services  natively does or does not support dynamic disks as a disk resource for the cluster?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond to this seemingly benign question.

Ok, here is a weird one...I got an exchange 2007 server that I would like to do RPC over HTTP...I have enabled the service and given the external hostname to the but it doesnt seem to like it over the ASA...am I messing up the proxy settings in the Outlook http part? right next to the box it works fine but it resolves to the servers original name

I have a very large excel spreadsheet.

I have a UID column and the fields are always a number with 13 characters.

The 13 characters always start with two zeros (0012345678911)

However, there are fields within that column where the two zeros have been left out, which means there are only 11 characters i.e 12345678911

The two zeros are needed so that we can run a query in another database, otherwise the query fails. How can I add two zeros to all the fields that only have 11 characters and leave the fields with two zeros already there (13 characters)?

Hi Guys,
I have a windows 2003 R2 Sp2 / 2 node cluster which i inherited from previous Sys Admin.
One node is a web server (IIS) and the other is a file server.
i can see a DTC Resource on it in one of the groups.

When the group fails to the other node....all is good.
but when it tries to fail back to the original node it fails...and causing the group to move again then staying on the other node.

my questions:
1. is MS DTC required ? (i thought it is only for SQL)
2. Why is it failing?
3. can i somehow clean all the DTC configuration in a asafe manner and recreate it?

cheers,

Elwood

I'm having several problems with my domain right now, and I believe it is coming from an authentication error from all of the clients that are connecting to my DC. I'm running two servers; (1) DC w/ server 2003 sp2, and (1) Exch server w/ 2003 sp2. I was forced to run the DISA GoldDisk on my servers, and since then nothing has worked right. DISA GoldDisk is a collection of hotfixes, patches, and changes to group policies that harden servers to DoD standards. I can't simply uninstall or wipe the servers since we're online right now. All I have is internet browsing. I've looked up all of my errors I'm getting, and they all lead me in different directions.

My exchange services won't start. MSExchangeSA is giving me an error, event id 1005. Unexpected error Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. Facility: LDAP Provider ID no: 9007052e Microsoft Exchange System Attendant  occured.

Also, Userenv is giving me a event id 1053: Windows cannot determine the suer or computer name. (Access is denied.). Group Policy processing aborted.

Steps I've taken with this:
Ran setup.exe /domainprep again to reset the servers permissions
Scrubbed the Local, Domain, and Domain Controller security policies (might of missed something, don't know exactly what I'm looking for)
Ran gpupdate /force MANY times.

Problem #2:
I can't connect to our domain controller shares with a \\<ip addr> when I'm on a user account. I can do this just fine when I'm on a Domain Admin account.…

This morning, out of nowhere, one of my users got prompted to enter a license key while working in Office, even though he installed the software about a year ago and entered the key at that time.

This is a volume license. We purchased 30 total, and have plenty left.

I have no clue why this is happening.
