According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_editions
Windows 10 Enterprise allows BranchCache, but Windows 10 Pro
does not.

I was thinking BranchCache is at the 2012 R2
fileserver level, did not matter what the CLIENT had.

Any ideas ?

How can I subscribe to the Microsoft Security Bulletin emails and have these emails delivered to a non Microsoft Hotmail e-mail address?

The URL for this website is https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/dn602597.aspx but I don't see anywhere where I can subscribe to it. A previous admin was receiving these emails and not I would like to receive them to.

This is a planning for new setup of MS SCCM 2012 working environment. We are decided to use only one domain user account to administrating the whole SCCM structure. The tasks include, fully administrative rights on the SCCM server (1 server), all site system roles, reporting, database, clients access for client agent installation, software updates, OSD, and any client-section SCCM activities.

We are decided to only assign one domain user account - SCCMAdmin. What are those administrative rights need to assign? If possible, we don't want to assign a domain admins rights, schema admins (may not used to extend schema once only). Can we have a whole administrative rights that this user should possess?

Thanks in advance.

When this happens PDF appear so show when called from a website but when printed, even though print options appear - results show there is nothing to print,

Keep reinstalling Acrobat Reader. Has been happening with all Adobe reader 11.xx.

Have nuked desktops, tried with different users. I have tried resetting it to default settings ( that's where they always are anyway)

Windows 7 Enterprise. No GPO silliness going on I know.

So far the only fix has been to reinstall Acrobat reader on the several machines over and over again. Can't seem to duplicate the problem when I try,

Driving me absolutely nuts!

Hi

Environment:
Internal Windows 2008 R2 (FFL/DFL) AD
Internal Windows 2012 R2 (FFL/DFL) AD
No trust (could potentially exist)

External OpenLDAP

I have a requirement to provide a continuous object (user+group) sync from multiple ldap sources (mostly AD but a single instance of OpenLDAP).

There are currently no trusts between these directories so I was hoping to get some guidance on the following options:

1: Deploy a FIM setup
2: Create a trust a use ADMT as a object migration/merge tool (create PES for passwords)
3: Use DirSync (Non Azure)
4: 3rd party tool like 'Binarytree'

I was hoping to see if there were any options I may have missed and or any preferred methods for basic user/group object sync between AD (on-prem).

Thanks
Bry

Just wondering if this is possible? Just doing an audit of a software and need to remove it from 5 machines. Or maybe another method of uninstalling remotely.

Cheers

Hi ,

We have a scenario where , we need to run few scripts that has to be done after auto logging in to the windows using a one time auto login admin account.

STEPS Currently applied

1) SCCM Deploys OS and the settings to the os.
2) There are few task sequence created at the last that should reboot the workstation after image and network settings applied.
3) Then it should auto-login to the windows and run few more scripts .
4) We have task sequence steps to auto-login, which works , but after the restart the SCCM doesn't recognize or doesn't wait for the few more task sequence steps that will have to install few more scripts after the user auto-logged in to the windows.
5) SCCM task sequence doesn't work after the workstation rebooted.

REQUIREMENT
1) We need to be able to continue the remained steps in the task sequence after the workstation rebooted.
2) SCCM should wait for the computer to reboot and load in to windows and wait until the user auto-login and then should run few scripts added in individual task sequence.

Is it possible...

Does Exchange Online Protection require that all email addresses within your domain be included in the plan or does it allow you to decide which email addresses you want to protect with Exchange Online Protection and what email addresses you don't want to include?

Please provide me with information on how much Exchange Online Protection costs.

If I buy single license of either retail or Volume License of MS Project (Std or Pro, not Office 365) is it OK for multiple users, not simultaneously though to login with their own AD account to a physical computer (not via RDP) and use single copy of MS project to edit files?

Thx

Hi,

Our company is a small size business and now we are reaching almost 50 workers. i really would like to buy a Enterprise licenses from Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office 2013. The reason is because i would like to create a images to make life more easier the a new workers starts and have all the settings already include on the image.

Do you if Microsoft has a limitation when it comes to Enterprise licenses. eg. minimum of 50 Enterprise licenses or 100 etc.

I know i could call Microsoft and asks that but coming from someone with experience like we have at EE i think i would get much better information from you.

Can you please advice?

I'm looking for a way to authenticate my wireless users beyond them just knowing the wireless password. Ideally they would join the access point then get dumped to the login portal that they'd have to log in with their current user name and password, which would get checked against AD.

Additionally, I'd be looking for two features: 1) That users could be "remembered" for 30 days (or some period of time) so they don't need to log in every time they want to use wireless 2) Somehow we could lock users out through some action in AD

My access points are Buffalo routers running DD-WRT. I have mostly Windows 7 machines and servers running Server 2008 r2. In addition I have a Cisco router and ASA firewall.

Can someone suggest a piece of software (or multiple pieces in combination) that can do this? From what I've Googled around this can't be done with my existing equipment but maybe I've haven't looked hard enough.

I am in the process of migrating off Exchange 2010 and onto 2013. I've noticed an issue with our Outlook 2013 clients and am having trouble finding information on the error.

When I try to open outlook for a user whose mailbox has been migrated to the 2013 mailbox server, I get the following error: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook.  Cannot open the Outlook window.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed."

If I go into mail settings, I see the user account is correctly configured to point to the FQDN of the Exchange 2013 CAS, so autodiscover appears to be working as intended.

If I then click the repair link, and re-enter the user's name and email address, it succeeds.  I then go into Outlook and immediately receive two messages:

1. "The Microsoft Exchange Administrator has made a change that requires you to quit and restart outlook."

2. The same error as above: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook.  Cannot open the Outlook window.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed."

And outlook quits.

Finally, if I open it again, it works.

I need this to work correctly the first time if possible.  I would greatly appreciate some assistance with this.

I've tried redeploying PRF files to no avail.

Please provide me with the instructions on how to determine the exact path and filenames that are being used to install software onto client computers through Active Directory group policy within a Server 2008 R2 domain.

Please provide me with the instructions on how I can view which servers are listed in a Lync 2013 cert.

A customer's Lync 2013 cert from Go Daddy automatically renewed and I need to check to make sure it has all the proper servers listed in it before I install it.

Please provide me with the instructions on how to do this.

Hello,

We currently have one SCOM Server in place monitoring about 500+ Servers with various mgmt packs, at what point do you think you should introduce a second SCOM Server?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am currently working on a deployment solution using Windows Server 2012 R2 WDS with MDT 2013.

I can successfully capture the image on our registers but the issue I am having is capturing an additional "apps" partition labelled D:\

For a PC with Windows 7, I created a task sequence in MDT for Lite Touch to use imagex and capture the OS drive with the additional partition. This works without error and successfully captures and deploys the OS (C:\) and the extra partition (D:\) -- (I had to change c: to d: and d: to e: in the run command TS for this to work as WinPE changes the drive letters). This process of capturing the extra partition works fine in this scenario.

On our POSReady2009 machines, the task sequence fails at the "Capture 2nd Partition" sequence. WinPE does not seem to change the drive letters like on the Win 7 boxes. My task sequence is the same (changing back the drive letters of course). I first run FBReseal and it shuts down. I then boot to NIC and run the capture process. It successfully captures the C:\ drive but when it gets to the second partition capture, it fails with the error "LiteTouch deployment failed, return code = - 2147467259 0x80004005"
Failed to run the action: Capture D
This version of  is not compatible with the version of Windows your running. Check computer sys info (error: 8007008D; Source: Windows

My boot disk for this was created using the POSReady2009 install.wim and was converted to boot.wim for use with WDS. …

Microsoft is currently offering a promotion to retake a failed Microsoft certification exam.

A person I work with will be taking the Microsoft 70-533 "Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions" exam on Saturday, May 30th.

My coworker wants to know if he fails the exam on 5/30 if he will then be able to retake the failed certification exam during June since this particular promotion of retaking a failed Microsoft certification exam is only valid through May 31st and we don't know if it will be extended.

So does this promotion allow for a failed exam to be taken after the end of the promotion date passes or does the end of the promotion date (May 31st) also mark the end of when a failed certification exam can be retaken?

Kind greetings.

I have downloaded and successfully installed LAPS (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46899).  I am also able to successfully change the password for one of our local admin accounts using Group Policy.  Now, I need to configure LAPS to also change other local admin passwords.  For example, if a domain joined computer has TWO local admin accounts, I want to be able to change both "localadmin1" and "localadmin2."  Unfortunately, I am not sure how to accomplish this as I do not see how to add another account in the GPO.  Ideas?
