Hi. I have an SSL certificate that I got from GoDaddy that I need to install on my dedicated Server hosted through Liquid Web and I have no idea how to do that? Any help would be much appreciated. I have access to my server but Liquid Web is understandably a little reluctant to help because I am only paying for the server itself.

I have an ISAPI extension web application implemented in C++
A client does a POST with the "Transfer-Encoding: chunked" header.
I cannot find an example or a documentation how to manage such type of request in ISAPI extension.
I put a debugger breakpoint in my ISAPI callback function and it hits only once with the first chunk in the available buffer.
Could somebody point me to a working example or/and documentation?

I am new to URL rewite module in IIS and can not seem to get my pattern correct;
Below is the URL that needs to be rewritten:

https://www.mmm.com/JACCC/clients/clientnbr?id=123

OR it can be

https://www.mmm.com/JACKK/clients/clientnbr?id=123

Open in new window

I need to redirect it to

https:/apps.mmm.com/JAZ/clients/clientnbr?id=123

Open in new window

I am stuck:

This is as far as I got with the pattern matching:
^www.mmm.com/([a-z,A-Z])/^JAC([j,a,c,J,A,C])/^clientnbr([a-z,A-Z])/^id([0-9])

Open in new window

And my rewrite URL is

https://apps.furry.com.DogLive/client/clientnbr?id={R:1}

Could someone help me please ??

Hello all.

Working with windows 2016 Core servers VMs.

To run the following on separate servers of course.

IIS and SQL server 2019.

How much memory would be good for these vm cores?

I have 3 2016 file servers that run wonderfully with only 1gb of ram.

So how much for the others?

Hello, All.

I have several 2016 Server Cores running successfully.
However, when it comes to getting IIS to work with the Server Farm, that is proving to be a pain in the butt.

I am building this Core VM with every setting that is needed for it to host web sites.
Once I have this Core VM properly configured, I am going to clone it and create multiple VM Core Servers from it.

What I am needing to do, is sync the core IIS with the main IIS server.
I already added the core server to the DFS, so it has completed the sync and now has all shared files and folders on both
The wwwroot and the IIS_SharedConfig_ARR folders.

What I need to do next, is set up Shared Configuration for the core server, so it will pick up on all the sites and configuration settings of the main IIS server.

My question is this.
Since I cannot access the Shared Configuration through IIS Remotely (Which I feel is really sad that we cannot access this feature)
How can I configure the Shared Configuration on the Core IIS machine?

Yes, I have looked around Google search for the last hour, but cannot find any good resources for achieving this.

Thanks.

Hello All;

I have a file move issue that only started because I had to take a sub-folder on my site, and [convert to Application]

Here is a portion of the code I am using.
            For Each postedFile As HttpPostedFile In filMyFile.PostedFiles
                Dim getfile As String = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(postedFile.FileName)
                Dim FileToMove As String
                Dim MoveLocation As String

                           GlobalVariables.savepath = Context.Server.MapPath("../Media/Temp/")
                           GlobalVariables.MovePath = Context.Server.MapPath("../Media/")

                            FileToMove = (GlobalVariables.savepath & getfile & ".mp3")
                            MoveLocation = (GlobalVariables.MovePath & strPath & "/" & getfile & ".mp3")

                            If System.IO.File.Exists(FileToMove) = True Then
                                My.Computer.FileSystem.MoveFile(FileToMove, MoveLocation) ' <<<< ERROR POINTS HERE
                            End If

Open in new window

The code was working correctly until I changed the sub-folder to [convert to Application]
Once I did that, I received this error.

Permissions are correctly given for the folder, so it does not seem to be a permissions issue.
I used Windows Resource Monitor.
Chose the CPU tab.
Searched for mp3 in the [Associated Handles]
Here is one line from the results of the search

Image                PID      Type      Handle Name
w3wp.exe      12272      File             G:\InetPub\wwwroot\mysite\Media\Temp\03112020223702438.mp3

I read that I needed to close the opened file.
I tried to do.
mp3.Dispose() ' did nothing
filMyFile.Dispose() ' did nothing

Open in new window

Any other suggestions to help get past this issue, so it will go back to working correctly?
Thanks.

I have a web server (2012 R2 / IIS 8.5) hosting both our Sharepoint 2013 site, as well as a separate site for our internal facing asp.net in-house developed applications. These are Webforms apps that interact with a SQL server on-premise. The IIS config looks like this:
Screenshot: IIS
Chrome is our browser of choice throughout the company, but we have an annoying issue with Chrome that when people access pages in the 'Intranet' site from links on the Sharepoint Site, Chrome will throw the ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. It happens intermittently with no pattern whatsoever.

On the client side, sometimes clearing cache / history will help, sometimes 'ipconfig /flushdns' will help, other times nothing will help and the user just simply has to try again later. The Intranet site binds on 443 to the hostname web.ourcompany.com and is not accessible to the outside world by design. Webserver is on an internal IP on a Trusted LAN.

Is there anything I can do from the server side (asp.net code, web.config, etc) for the Intranet site to fix this?

Hello, All.
IIS 10 - 2016 Server

The network share is not running IIS, it is not running anything but is simply used as a share where all images and media files are uploaded too.
This is also in a Windows Farm, so there are 3 file servers set up for handing all images and media files.
I have 4 web servers and they are all set up to access each of the file servers. (I actually need one more file server to complete the connection with 4 web servers)

In IIS, I created a Virtual Directory UNDER the domain and pointed it to the network share = \ \ImageServer\Files
In IIS for this folder, it displays all the sub-folders. (As seen in the image below) (Permissions is not an issue in this topic)
However, when I try to bring the image up to view, it gives a 404 error and points to the directory of the Domain for the file not being there.
It thinks the files are stored on the local server, and not from a share.
All permissions are set, everything is running correctly so far on the server(s)
Except this.

What am I missing here?
IIS Shared Server Folder
I found this link here IIS Folder to Folder Redirect Rule
However, I am not certain that is the route to go in this situation.
There has to be a way to do this in IIS or...

Trace Route

Hi All,

Currently setting up the IIS portion of a Certificate Services Instal .I have one serverthat will be running the IIS part (Server Core), that is remotely managd via a Win 10 client. I have created the Virtual Directory. As part of the guide I am follwoing it tells me to modify the permissions of the Virtual Directory by Selecting the directory and then click edit permissions under the actions pane. Under the actions pane I only get Basic Setings as an option.

What am i missing?

Cheers,

I have a webservice that ran with a bug in it. The web service is still running and I'd like to stop it from continuing to loop.

I am using Windows Server 2012R2 and IIS Version 8.5. It is a Windows Web Server.

I have stopped the website. I have stopped the application pool. I have waited a few minutes before restarting them.

But the webservice still keeps running in the background.

I have not reboot the box, but that is the next thing I am considering.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, All.
(The development is done in ASP Classic (VB), in case I need to do something within the code.)

In the website, our search string is displayed as such.
Main.asp?Type=Results&Submit=Search&Term=KISS&Cat=3

Our URL Rewrite is this.

Pattern: Search/([_0-9a-z-(-)-,-]+)/([_0-9a-z-(-)-,-]+)
Rewrite URL: Main.asp?Type=Results&Submit=Search&Term={R:1}&Cat={R:2}

Screenshot of the RULE
URLRewrite
How can I make the Search Query work, so that when you click search, it rewrites the URL to this?

Search/KISS/3

Thanks.

I was adding some php file uploader to my Microsoft server 2016. I had the software company dial into the server to help look at config and now all my sites are down and it only shows a http 500 error? And no matter what I change around I can't get the sites to give me any error messages or anything. I am unable to reach the software support people today for some reason and need to get the sites back up. Any clue on a way to troubleshoot this?

Main site is using .asp, and I added php which seemed to be working also. I just don't know if somehow the rights got changed? even the files with .html won't work either?

In Azure, I set up two VM's, a Win2012 R2 DC and a Win10 workstation, both VM's in the same subnet 10.0.0.0/24.

When attempting to add the Win 10 workstation it says it cannot find a DC? I deleted the VM's and am about to try again, as I was getting pretty burnt out and frustrated. Figured I'd ask before I begin again. Is this a feasible lab scenario?

When attempting to add the Win10 workstation to the Domain, the message I was getting was that the win 10 workstation could not find a domain controller in the domain. I went with Test.Com as my domain vs Test.local Maybe that was part of my problem? This is my first Lab using Azure.

Is there an article on how to build this lab environment? It's possible that I misconfigured something fundamental with DNS and or the IP stack on the workstation?

My goal is to have a Windows Domain Controller and a Win10 Pro or Enterprise workstation so that I can test GPO's and login scripts.

Then, my plan is to connect a Firewall to another location and set up additional workstations, but for now, I just want to get the single Azure domain up and running with just the two nodes.

Feedback appreciated.

When I try to export my IIS sites from win2008 to Windows2019

Using either the export option in IIS or \Microsoft Web Deploy V3

I get this error... I would make it skip this file but I don't see that as an option.
Error: The process cannot access 'C:\ColdFusion10\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.log' because it is being used by another process.

Windows 2016 - IIS 10 I'm inexperienced with using host headers. Our developers have an app that logs the ip's making a request. They've explained that they're seeing the gateway address of the server, instead of the public address being logged. Is this the normal behavior when using host headers, or should the public address be logged? The xxx is indeed the servers gateway address, not a single public ip address is being logged. If the public ip address should be logged. What might I have mis-configured? The internal users of the site have their ip address being logged correctly. Thanks

C:\Program Files (x86)\Log Parser 2.2>logparser "select c-ip, count (c-ip) as requestcount from u_ex200206.log group by c-ip order by count(c-ip) desc"

I need to create a rewrite rule that will take multiple variations of the same url and redirect it to one place. Have tried the following with no success:

<rule name="AF09">
  <match url="(.*)" />
  <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAny">
     <add input="{REQUEST_URI}" pattern="^news-and-features/af-blog/article/id/10967(.*)" />
     <add input="{REQUEST_URI}" pattern="^news-and-features/af-blog/article/id/10964(.*)" />
     <add input="{REQUEST_URI}" pattern="^news-and-features/af-blog/article/id/10962(.*)" />
  </conditions>
  <action type="Redirect" url="https://www.biblehistory.com/" redirectType="Permanent" appendQueryString="false" />
</rule>

Here's the scenario:
I have a web application that creates a number of web sites on the server it's installed. Is there a way to get a list of all the URLs used on IIS on that server? I'd like to see any URL that's listed whether it directs to a web page, redirects to another URL, etc.

I've tried googling this, but I just get pages and pages of things to try that never seem to give me the info I'm looking for.

I'm a complete newbie to IIS.

Hello, all.

When creating my own URL Rewrite script with the error pages, I was able to do multiple redirects.
However, with IIS URL Rewrite, I am having an issue with it.

So, this is what I believe I need to do.

QueryStrings
domain.com/Main.asp?Type=One&OneID=1
domain.com/Main.asp?Type=Two&TwoID=1
domain.com/Main.asp?Type=Three&ThreeID=1

What it needs to be.
domain.com/One/ItemHere
domain.com/Two/ItemHere
domain.com/Three/ItemHere

This works, as it is grabbing everything, so everything you put in with: domain.com/something
Will get sent to this RULE.
                <rule name="BandMember" stopProcessing="true">
                    <match url="([_0-9a-z-(-)-,-]+)" />
                    <conditions>
                        <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" />
                    </conditions>
                    <action type="Rewrite" url="Main.asp?Type=One&BMID={R:1}" logRewrittenUrl="true" />
                </rule>

Open in new window

This does not??
I am thinking the "match url=" needs to have something similar in it, but, not this.
                <rule name="Label" stopProcessing="true">
                    <match url="Two/([_0-9a-z-(-)-,-]+)" />
                    <conditions>
                        <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" />
                    </conditions>
                    <action type="Rewrite" url="Main.asp?Type=Two&LabelID={R:1}" logRewrittenUrl="true" />
                </rule>

Open in new window

Any ideas on doing Multiple Rules, as I demonstrated above?

Hello
Using Visual Studio 2019 community on my local machine, I first published a simple asp.net(vb) webapp to folder on the server A ( IIS server (windows 2016 standard)) and then created an application pool and finally add this group [IIS_IUSRS] to the published site. But I still no getting no page when I click on the site link under “Browse Website” in IIS Manager. Please see the attached document about the steps I took
