In Skype for Business Server, we have 3-digit extension dialing set up. This is working just fine. The issue is that there are certain 3-digit numbers (not the least of which is 911) that we need to have go outside the local system. I'm having a difficult time getting this to work. I don't know where the issue lies, but I can't get the system to dial out to save my life. Here's what I've done:

1) Added a dialing rule for 911 and moved it to the top of the list. I have it translating to 411 for now (so as not to bombard 911 with test calls - once it works, I will make one test to 911 dispatch and ask them to confirm the caller ID and location).

2) Configured the route to match 411 and 911 (to send to the external trunk)

3) I even ran a Voice Routing Test Case to be sure that the result is what I expected. It is.

However, when I dial 911 (and it gets translated to 411), it always rings our internal receptionist response group, and I can't figure out why.

Can anyone help me figure out what else I need to change to make this work?

Most users have attributes like this populated - looks like this from old on-premises (However, many are synced to 365):

Q: Can I clear the above attributes without issue?

The reason I ask is I would like to clear the above attributes when I implement the following changes (which is the actual project at hand):

UserPrincipalName attribute    
from foo@contoso.com to foo@fabrikam.com

Mail attribute    
from foo@contoso.com to foo@fabrikam.com

ProxyAddresses attribute - the PrimarySMTPAddress
from SMTP:foo@contoso.com to SMTP:foo@fabrikam.com

ProxyAddresses attribute - the old PrimarySMTPAddress will become the secondary
from SMTP:foo@contoso.com to smtp:foo@contoso.com

ProxyAddresses attribute - the SIP Address
from SIP:foo@contoso.com to SIP:foo@fabrikam.com

Somebody can tell me what rules should my TMG server have to allow SIP from outside

i am working on a hybrid project Lync 2013 to Office 365 and i am not an expert of TMG but the person who did the configuration before did a Publish rule to allow port 443 for Lync but i suspect i have to add port 5061 because my cloud users are not able to see presence info of On prem users but Onprem users can see the Presence Info and send messages

Please i need help

I working with a client and this is the current configuration of his public dns:

access  A IP Adress of EDGE Server

I have an issue I just migrated a User from On premisses Lync 2013 to Office 365 all went well

But my user in O365 is able to talk to the world but not to the Onpremisses users

What can be the issue?

Dear All,

We are running Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Hosting Pack with the latest Cumulative Update KB 2809243 (version 8308.992), published in July 2017.

Currently, and since February 2018, all our customers are facing an issue with the mobile client for iOS  (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skype-for-business/id605841731?mt=8) and more specifically with push notifications.

Incoming calls are not pushed to the mobile client anymore, even with the “Background App Refresh” option enabled.

Back in November 2017, with the App version 6.17.3, push notifications were still working correctly, but the version 6.18.1.x deployed in February 2018 broke the service.

I still have an iPhone 7 with App version 6.17.3 (Nov 15, 2017) where push notifications are working perfectly.

I'm sure our infrastructure is OK, and the proof is that with an older App version, everything works well.

Do you have any suggestions?

I have a client who has Lync 2013 On premisses and he is migrating to Office 365 . I want to know if there is any means to have an Office 365 User to add Contacts that are sitting on the On premises servers?

Is it possible and how can we achieve that?

I want to mention that the client was using this Lync 2013 just for Internal communication

We are just starting to use Skype For Business for Internal IM.   We have setup Skype For Business to not allow External Contacts to be added. We didn't want Employees to start chatting with Friends and Family while at work.

We are looking to get rid off WebEx for Presentations and wanted to use Skype For Business, though it looks like we can't Invite Customers to the Meetings since we blocked External Access.

Is there a Way to Block External Users for IM, though Allow Inviting External Customers for Presentations?

Scenario

Cannot access EWS from some operating systems in a hybrid 365 deployment.

-      365 Hybrid environment deployed via on prem Exchange 2016 servers
-      Exchange 2010 still used by majority of organisation
-      Lync 2013 deployed on prem, latest CU
-      365 migrated, Windows 10 based users have full access to call history, voicemail and their meeting tab via EWS
   o      Does not work when they login on a Windows 7 client
-      365 migrated, Windows 7 based users cannot access EWS
-      User homed on Exchange 2016 server cannot access EWS
-      User homed on Exchange 2010 server can access EWS when _autodiscover._tcp.business.com is set to the Exchange 2010 CAS, breaks when set to 2016 server
-      Office version is 2016, latest patches applied
-      Kemp Virtual Loadmasters used at both sites


Things tried

-      Logged call with Microsoft 63 days ago…
-      _autodiscover._tcp.business.com
   o      Set to Exchange 2016 directly, breaks Win 7 based users homed on Exchange 2010 access to EWS
   o      Set to Exchange 2010, Win 10 based users homed on 365 fine, majority of org fine as still homed here, 365 migrated Win 7 users can’t access EWS
-      Checked virtual directories for EWS
-      Checked certificate assigned to Kemp Loadmaster
-      Checked firewall rules to ensure connectivity and no dropped traffic
-      Configured OAUTH between Exch 16 and Exch Online at MS request, did nothing

Hi guys,

We implement Skype for Business Cloud Connector on-premise  VMs on Hyper-V. (Building 1)
Also take a SIP Trunk from our ITSP in Building 2. There is some questions as below:
1-      Is it possible to forwarding SIP port from IP static in building 1 to IP static in Building2?
2-      How should I edit configuration.ini file? Specific in voice gateway section… put IP static that related to building 2 or what?
3-      Where should I use my SBC IP & IP address which I take with SIP Trunk modem
PS: Network structure and Configuration file is attached. Please help us in this regards ….

trying to remove Lync 2013 from on premise have followed the guide from Microsoft upto the point of disabling users and conferencing then from Topology builder I am trying to remove the deployment and get the following error.


There was a problem validating the topology XML against the XSD that defines the schema.

·         System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaValidationException: The key sequence '1witnessstore5' in 'urn:schema:Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Deploy.WritableTopology.2008:ServiceUniqueId' Keyref fails to refer to some key.

We are setting up Skype for Business 2015.
In the boardroom I have setup a Laptop with Windows 10 Pro and Skype for Business to be used for Video Conferencing. I have attached a Logitech BCC950 Conference Cam to the laptop. When looking at the Preview in Video settings, you can get a stream from the camera. Once you connect a video call you get the message "Could not start Video: Your camera is not setup or you are already using it."
There are no other applications that could be using the Camera.

I have tried the following:
  1. Updated the driver to the latest that Windows updates can find as Logitech does not supply updates on their website.
  2. Installed all Windows updates.
  3. Changed USB ports. These are only USB 2.0 ports.
  4. Tried a different computer with the same setup but have the same issues.

Can anyone help?

We use Ken's Skypeoptimzer site to create our dialing rules. we've used failover routing in the same site for this.

unfortunately an unintended result is: any external inbound call to one of our users which has simring enabled, results in the sim ring leg of the call going out via our second SIP trunk and not through the same trunk as the inbound call. this becomes an issue since our Secondary 'failover' trunk is infact a pstn gateway which cannot pass the original calling parties call id on the outbound call id of the simring portion of the call.

we do have an sbc which we can add the pstn gateway to (the same one which controls the primary SIP Trunk), the issue is this would introduce a single point of failure into the call path.

has anyone successfully managed to deal with this issue?

lync 2010 response group not showing workflow name on incoming calls.
when i create a new workflow as a test that works out fine, but i am thinking perhaps there is cache of names that the machine or lync server holds on to that i can flush. or perhaps i am misdiagnosing the issue somewhere.
What I am seeing now is that the interactive response group is what is not showing the sub response is not translating to the option selected which would take you to the hunt group; which then needs to show the option selected option to the users client
i would appreciate the assistance

Hi,

I am migrating to Office 365 (Businsess Premium) from Exchange (2010 SP3 RU16).  We need to disable Unified Messaging for user syncing to work properly.  We can only have Unified Messaging for users that have plans with E3 or above.  Unfortunately users with UM disabled have no voicemail now.  Voicemail to our phone (Polycom VVX 400 and CX600) is now disabled, the phone will ring and calls can be answered but if you are not there to pick up, the call just ends or disconnects after 20 seconds or so, no voicemail option for the caller.  We have on prem Lync/Skype for Bus 2013  that is most likely needing a configuration change to resolve this.  Any help would be great!!

Hello all, we are migrating from Lync 2010 on prem to Skype for Business in O365. Part of this move will be a transition to Webex for folks who have PTSN conference creation rights. Rather than move everyone to Webex with those rights, were looking to move only those that have created conferences within a defined time period.

Question is, how do i pull a report to show the number of PTSN conferences created per user, over a 12 month period?

User wants to forward contact ceneter voicemails (separate VOIP Sysem) to xxx@domain.com,  email ID and then forward it to two different email ID

So I have informed it is not possible to forward voicemails from one mailbox to another.

So I have suggested to create shared mailbox and add the users to shared mailbox , who and all wants to monitor voicemails. Then configure shared mailbox in user outlook. So they can monitor the voicemails.

But requester don’t want to create new mailbox in their outlook. For her voicemails has to directly go to users inbox.

SO my question is can we send voicemails to DL’s. Like our team DL?

How is a two server Edge pool in Skype for Business 2015 server on premise load balanced?  
If I just have one server in the pool it works just fine.  As soon as the second server is added, no one can connect.
We have the external NICs load balanced and NAT'ed so that we only have to use 3 public IP's instead of 6 or 7.
