Microsoft PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a slide show presentation program currently developed by Microsoft. PowerPoint presentations consist of a number of individual pages or "slides" that may contain text, graphics, sound, movies, and other objects, which may be arranged freely. The presentation can be printed, displayed live on a computer, or navigated through at the command of the presenter. Slides can also form the basis of webcasts.

Best way to animate a slide if some elements are on the Master Slide and some are on the Normal slide. Can animate both - the issue is with the sequence e.g. circle on Master slide, text on Normal slide?

If I import a chart from Excel and I want to resize it - so that all text is legible - but that ends up making it bigger than the slide...so that in presentation view, now I can't see the x and y axis labels at all - how do I get around that? The problem I am having is with a custom template - which I don't want to post for confidentiality reasons. Oddly enough I can get it to work with my standard PowerPoint templates...

Is there a way to get a colour from a picture on a Master Slide onto a shape to be added in Normal View - Eyedropper maybe?

Animations - smooth start and end? I've experimented with these.  Right now I can't see much of a difference. What would they be used for?

Some questions on using sound in PowerPoint..
(1) - if I want a piece of music to play in the background - do I have to put that on the first slide - I've tried it on the third slide and it won't play on slides one and two?
(2) What's the difference between "Play across slides" and "play in background"

(3) What's the difference between "loop until stopped" and "Rewind afer playing" and when would I use either/both
(4) why would I use a bookmark?

How can I get a screensaver to run on a PC that is also running PowerPoint in presentation mode? Let me explain the situation .... I have a kiosk on my plant floor that displays a status and statistics presentation on a repeating loop ... this is a PowerPoint (in presentation mode) presentation. Our COO wants it to also play a custom screensaver (of the slideshow type) whenever no one has touched it for a while ... then once an end user touches the screen, the screensaver would turn off and it would go back to the PowerPoint. I already have created the screensaver and tested it. It runs correctly when the PC is idle and not running PowerPoint. But when PowerPoint is running and in presentation mode, the screensaver will not trigger itself to turn on. I'm guessing that the PC must think that it is NOT idle (because PowerPoint is running a presentation) and that will prevent the screensaver from triggering. Does anyone have any advice on how to force the screensaver to run overtop of the looping PowerPoint presentation?

Couple of questions here about using video in PowerPoint presentations...(1) I have added a YouTube video to a presentation to run automatically - when I get to the slide in Slide Show video - I still have to click it - is that correct? (2) how can I get it to fill the screen? At the moment it's sort of landscape (see Slide 2) . If I had this as a Browsed at a Kiosk set up - how would the video work then? Thanks

Hi

Our government customers are very angry with Microsoft, but I think this is nothing new as we know such problems with Windows 10.
I have to analyze this problem and advise our customers.

According to the Dutch organization that did the research for the Dutch government, we have the following infos:

-  Microsoft systematically and extensively collects data about the individual use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Secretly, without informing the people. According to the Dutch organization, it is hard to find what Microsfoft collects as the data is encrypted.
-  Microsoft sends telemetry data to its own servers in the United States.

This is what I found that we can do for our customer:
- Disable Manage the privacy of data monitored by telemetry in Office
- Ban the use of Connected Services
- Not to use SharePoint Oneline
- Block OneDrive
- Lock web version of Office 365

My questions:
1) Did you deal with this case? If yes, what will Microsoft collect?
2) Is it enough to Manage the privacy of data monitored by telemetry in Office ?
3) Do I still have to go through the Report from rijksoverheid.nl  ?

Thanks

VBA to Export Excel sheet to PowerPoint:

Hi experts,

I am using the following VBA to export my worksheet to PowerPoint presentation, however if I change the slicer in my Pivot Chart and export again the worksheet, the code is creating a new presentation, rather than a new slide.

I would like to add the new selection into the same presentation, just adding as a new slide.

I believe I need a loop indexing and counting the slides.

Any suggestions, please.

VBA Code:

Sub ExceltoPowerPoint()

Dim PowerPointApp As Object
Dim myPresentation As Object
Dim wb As Workbook
Dim ws As Worksheet
Dim namecheck As Range

Set PowerPointApp = GetPowerPointApp()
Set myPresentation = PowerPointApp.Presentations.Add

Call ExportResourcePlanSlide(myPresentation, ThisWorkbook.ActiveSheet.Range("a2:m40"))

PowerPointApp.Visible = True
PowerPointApp.Activate

Application.CutCopyMode = False

End Sub

Function GetPowerPointApp() As Object

On Error Resume Next
Set PowerPointApp = GetObject(class:="PowerPoint.Application")
Err.Clear
If PowerPointApp Is Nothing Then Set PowerPointApp = CreateObject(class:="PowerPoint.Application")
If Err.Number = 429 Then
MsgBox "PowerPoint could not be found, aborting."
Exit Function
End If
Set GetPowerPointApp = PowerPointApp
On Error GoTo 0

End Function

Sub ExportResourcePlanSlide(ByVal myPresentation As Object, ByRef rng As Range)

'Create new …

I'm using PowerPoint 2018 for a presentation containing several videos.  I want to Link these videos (not embed) in order to keep the file size to a minimum.  However, when I go to insert video from my PC, the dialog box opens as usual, but I cannot change the drop-down button from Insert to Link.  I know I've done this before - but does anyone know why I can't do it now.

- I've tried it on two PCs running Windows 10 (latest patches), and Office 365 (again latest patches - I think).
- I've created a new presentation (same results)

Not sure what to do now.....

msaccess, powerpoint, vba

I am using vba in msaccess to change link references in powerpoint. The script I found has

Dim oSld As Slide
Dim oSh As Shape

I am getting an error 429, ActiveX Component can't create object.

I think I do not have the proper object library loaded in msaccess 2016.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

I have to do a Presentation and I am only allowed one slide.  I have 5 pictures on it.

What I was hoping to do is have the slide open and only show the title.  Then when I click the first slide it opens full screen.  The next click closes that slide and opens the second one.  And so forth.

Is this possible?

I scanned 100 A3 pages into a PPTX file and then shredded them. When I looked at the file, all slides are in landscape format, while I needed them in portrait.

What would be the quickest way to rotate all 100 scanned images on all 100 slides by 90 degrees?

Hello, we need to have a way to place PDFs into a shared folder on a server and then have whatever docs are in this folder, be able to show up for all users when they go into their PowerPoint under the Shared tab

Hello,
We have PowerPoint 2013 documents on our Intranet site. There could be times when multiple users have the same doc opened from the site.
Is there a way that we can set these docs up so that users know when someone else has the doc open and that they cannot make any changes to the doc until the other person is finished with it?

Why does Power Point (Mac 2018 version) darken images?

When I run the presentation, all my images get darkened. And some become unusable.

Is this a setting i can turn off? I want the images to show exactly as they are in Power Point.

Thanks.
