Can someone show me a real-life example of using the hyperlink base field (Advanced Properties) in MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
I've read a few explanations but I think one or more step-by-step real-world examples would help.

Dear Team,

I have the below vba code to insert bullets with customize formats and alignment. Now I am looking forward to the incorporate the following below mentioned actions  in the code .

Please note that slide contains 2 text placeholder one for the Title and other for text

1. Reposition my text placeholder having (Top=75, Left=90,Width=739 and Height may vary depending on text.To have more clarity for the position of text placeholder I have appended below the image of shape dimensions from Microsoft power point 2016.

2. the text inside the placeholder should be calibri , size 12 & color (R=89,G=89,B=89)

For the size and margins to be freezed I am attaching an image for better clarity.

I need to collate this action with the below mentioned codes to have alignment of text and bullets

Sub Mybullets()

Dim pghcnt As Integer

With ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange

.ParagraphFormat.bullet.Font.Name = "Wingdings"

.ParagraphFormat.bullet.Character = 167

.ParagraphFormat.Alignment = ppAlignJustify

.ParagraphFormat.bullet.Font.Color = RGB(89, 89, 89)

.ParagraphFormat.bullet.RelativeSize = 0.75

End With

For pghcnt = 1 To Windows(1).Selection.TextRange.Paragraphs.Count

Windows(1).Selection.TextRange.Paragraphs(pghcnt).IndentLevel = 1

With Windows(1).Selection.ShapeRange.TextFrame.Ruler

.Levels(1).FirstMargin = 7

.Levels(1).LeftMargin = 20

End With

End Sub

Open in new window

Further the layout contains title and content placeholder.

Please help me to collate the text part as well.

Thanks in advance

I've asked dumb questions before so why not another. In creating a business card for the church the Facebook web address takes up to much space so the pastor wants to replace that with just the Facebook logo. The card template has a image space on the right and text lines on the left.

Since a logo (image) can not be converted to a letter(s) (??) I only see two choices:

a. Take the photo of the church and add the FB logo to the bottom of the photo of the church.
b. There is an extra text line under the photo so I could just enter "see (or join) us on Facebook, and not use the FB logo.

Any other options? Thanks.
Greetings experts,

I have a Powerpoint file and I need to clear the advance slide's "After" field and uncheck the checkbox.
The problem is that I have too many slides to do it manually... I was wondering if someone can give some advice on an easier way to do so, preferably a VBA code example?

Any help is much appreciated! :)

Using Zoom for video conference I can have a green screen background.  Static image.

Need to run a PPT as the background.

Out of the box, Zoom can't do this.

It CAN be done, but I need to ALSO use OBS Studio to enable me grab the PPT and project it to the green screen as a background.

Is there any video conferencing that allows PPT to be run to the greenscreen background out of the box / as a toggled option.  So that I don't need to run any additional software.  Just the conferencing software which then grabs the PPT and runs it to the greenscreen background.

Many thanks,

Hello Everyone,

Working on a new PowerPoint   Office 365.  I'm trying to put a placeholder for Bullet Point Text in the Slidemaster.

Is there a way to insert a Bullet Point placeholder in the Slidemaster.  I only seem to be able to insert a "Click to Edit Master Text Styles" -- and that doesn't even show up in Normal View.

Please take a look at the attached, and check my  Slide Master view.

Please see attached, and see what I am "missing"
I'm trying to use the Replace method to remove the carriage return in this test text range:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.

The last character on the first line is Chr(13).

To test this, I add the above text to a text box on a slide, selected it and run the following command:

ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Replace Chr(13), "X"

Open in new window

This is what happens to the text:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.X
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.

The carriage return is not replaced and is still present after the X that is inserted, checked as follows:

Open in new window

If I try to replace visible characters, the method works es expected. So with the same example text above, if I run this command:

ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Replace "elit.", "X"

Open in new window

I get this correct result:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing X
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.

So why does the CR character not get replaced? It appears that this method is broken.

If I use the plain text function, the CR gets replaced but of course I lose the formatting:

ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text = Replace(ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text, Chr(13), "X")

Hello Everybody,

Does this Powerpoint Background have layers.

Hi  Please take a look at this Powerpoint file.  It's Office 365 version.

You will see what looks like a white "cutout" in the background layer.  If it is indeed a layer, I want to put an image behind it.

Can I do that?

If that doesn't work, can I mask the image using a shape.  I have tried doing that, but can't seem to replicate the cutout shape.

Checked YouTube and documentation but can't seem to do it.

I have created a slide which consists of a company logo in the lower left corner, a vertical line which extends from the top of the slide to the bottom to create a visual divider and a black background:

I want this slide to be the 'background' of this presentation.  I don't want to hit "Duplicate Slide" - I just want every new slide to appear with a black background, logo in lower left corner and dividing line.

How can I 'save' this slide to be a background for every new slide I create?
Hello experts,
I am trying to find an effective way to manage lines in powerpoint.

I identified two problems:
1-In powerpoint you cannot connect your lines objects, but you can do it for shapes. As a result there is always an space between each end and beginning ie : blue ovals:
2-If you want to re-size vertical & horizontal lines I grouped them however given that the vertical line is an horizontal line with 90° rotation I cannot properly re-size it.
2019-04-22_10h25_22.pngDo you have advices on this?
I attached dummy file.
Thank you in advance for your help.
How can I change the security in Outlook 365 so that it does not put PowerPoint attachments in read only mode?
What can prevent the PowerPoint executable from closing via task manager?
How do you turn off read only mode in PowerPoint 365?
I have a VBA add-in that works fine on lots of different Windows PCs.

Recently, several users reported that the add-in shows the following message numerous times, one after another, when trying to load either as an application add-in file or via the source macro-enabled Office file:

System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic failure

Microsoft's help page that this message links to simply states "Visual Basic encountered an error that was generated by the system or an external component."!

After repeatedly clicking OK or or holding the Enter key to dismiss this repeating message, the following message is eventually displayed:

Compiler error. Out of memory.

I have issolated it to a specific model of Dell XPS laptop but they are well spec'd with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 16GB RAM and 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7.

The project has many modules/userforms/classes so it's not possible to post all of the code here, or even easily issolate where it's going wrong due to the nature of the error messages and behaviour of VBE after dismissing them.

Once out of the error message loop above, the following text in bold is highlighed in a code moule window:

Optional ByVal CompareMode As VbCompareMethod = vbTextCompare, _

Public Function QSortInPlace( _
    ByRef InputArray As Variant, _
    Optional ByVal LB As Long = -1&, _
    Optional ByVal UB As Long = -1&, _
    Optional ByVal Descending As Boolean = False, _

Powerpoint 2013 is missing the Screen Recording

I have noticed that Powerpoint 2013 is missing the Screen Recording.

When I'm animating the points of a circle I also get two blue lines which also affect the curvature of the circle.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THOSE BLUE LINES with the squares on them?
These blue lines with squares also appear when I'm editing the points of a simple circular shape.
If you could supply me with a link, that would be appreciated. (See graphic)err
I have a new PPT presentation and just created a group of photos for an animation slide.
Why is it numbering the group as 11 and 12 when this is a brand new presentation and a brand new slide.  This should be group 1 and 2?

I cant format a shape in PP

I need the attached ppt to have the solid blue line all around the shape

But i cant seem to work out how to select the shape and format it?

Hello experts,

I am trying to find a solution to avoid having by default the various task panes related to powerpoint add-in.
I tried through Option-Advanced-Open all documents using this view (withtout the task panes) and when I open a new presentation I have again the various task panes.
How should I proceed to avoid having by default all those task panes? If it is not possible, is there a shortcut to close tasks panes at one or at least one by one.
Thank you in advance for your help.2019-04-01_09h22_23.png
