I ran into a user that when she prints a power point job, the data goes to one printer and the drawing outline goes to another printer? I checked the preferences and they look fine The crazy thing is that the one part of the print job goes to the network printer (color) in the main office and the pother part goes to the printer in her office which is 3 offices away. One part goes to a black and white and the other goes to a color printer. I thought maybe a driver?

I am curious to know how Click to Run of Office 365 and the sign in is acting as it is supposed to?
To me it looks like my SSO is working properly.
I enter my user name and I do not need to enter in my password, but is it also supposed to prepopulate the user name when I am using a domain computer.

Here is what I am getting when I click "Sign In".

I have a Mac with PowerPoint:mac 2016 on it plus a Parallels VM with Windows 10 and PowerPoint 2016 (PC).

For training sessions, I'd like to be able to connect a projector so that I can present, using Presenter View on the Mac display and display the slide show on the projector.

I also need to to be able to toggle views to show PowerPoint (PC) in mirrored mode (same view on Mac display and projector) so that I can demonstrate various techniques.

The challenge seems to be that these two needs appear to conflict with each other.

I have managed to present using PowerPoint:mac in Presenter View and then swipe OSX monitor spaces to get to PowerPoint PC in Normal View for the demo element but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the Windows environment to invoke display monitoring, independent of the OSX spaces.

There are so many places to setup monitor properties including:

1. OSX : System Preferences / Displays (for mirror/extend) + Mission Control (for spaces)
2. Parallels : Options / Full Screen + View types (full/coherence etc.)
3. Windows : Notifications / Project (Duplicate / Extend)

Is there a way to achieve my objective? My environment:

OSX Yosemite (10.10.5)
Parallels Desktop 11.2.1
PowerPoint:mac 2016 Version 16.8 (171114)
Windows 10 x64
PowerPoint:PC 2016 Version 1711 Build 8711.2037

Hello,
I am extracting particular color text from a particular column, say Q and pasting it in powerpoint. But the text is from different cell which get pasted in different text box. So i have used macros which will convert the data into one text box. The below code i am using to merge in one text box.
'to merge the textboxes into one text box
With myPresentation.Slides(1).Shapes
'set a reference to the 'master' text box
Set myShape = .Item(1)
'copy text from text boxes to master text box
For x = 2 To .Count
If .Item(x).Type = msoTextBox Then
'insert a carriage return
myShape.TextFrame2.TextRange.InsertAfter vbCrLf
.Item(x).TextFrame2.TextRange.Copy
myShape.TextFrame2.TextRange.InsertAfter(.Item(x).TextFrame2.TextRange).PasteSpecial (msoClipboardFormatNative)
End If
Next
'delete the text boxes that have been copied(must count backwards when deleting items from collections)
For x = .Count To 2 Step -1
.Item(x).Delete
Next
End With

Likewise, there is some text which too needs to be extracted from different column, say H. I have used the same code for extracting as well merging it into single text box. But it may happen that there is not any text in column H. Using below code it gives me error about the range.

 Set myShape = mySlide.Shapes(mySlide.Shapes.Count)
'to merge the textboxes into one text box
  With myPresentation.Slides(1).Shapes
'set a refrence to the 'master' text box
Set myShape = .Item(2)
'copy text from text boxes to master text box
For x = 3 To .Count
If .Item(x).Type = msoTextBox Then
'insert a carriage return
myShape.TextFrame2.TextRange.InsertAfter vbCrLf
.Item(x).TextFrame2.TextRange.Copy
myShape.TextFrame2.TextRange.InsertAfter(.Item(x).TextFrame2.TextRange).PasteSpecial (msoClipboardFormatNative)
End If
Next
'delete the text boxes that have been copied(must count backwards when deleting items from collections)
For x = .Count To 3 Step -1
.Item(x).Delete
Next

End With

So, i used the code as If shape>0 then
else
end if
It works but when there is text in column it wont merge the text boxes. I am not able to understand the problem. Please help me out. Thanks in advance

I'm experimenting with saving custom XML data to [shape] objects in PowerPoint using the object's CustomerData collection object which stores one or more CustomXML parts. There are three main methods and one property for the CustomerData object:

.Add (method)
.Item (method)
.Delete (method)
.Count (property)

Unlike other collections in the OM, items in the collection are read using a GUID string rather than a numerical index. for example:

Sub TestReadXML()
  Dim GUID As String
  GUID = "{CBAC284D-9000-4CFE-8E8F-FAD5CC8BCAA7}"
  With ActiveWindow.Selection.ShapeRange(1).CustomerData
    With .Item(GUID)
      Debug.Print .XML
    End With
  End With
End Sub

The GUID is created automatically by the .Add method when the CusomXMLPart is initially created so at that point it can be read and saved:

Sub TestWriteXML()
  Dim GUID As String
  With ActiveWindow.Selection.ShapeRange(1).CustomerData
    With .Add
      GUID = .Id
      .LoadXML "<testXML/>"
    End With
  End With
End Sub

Now, given the fact that the GUID cannot be present in more than one CustomXMLPart, either for the same object or multiple objects, when an object that contains a CustomXMLPart is copied, the original maintains its GUID but the copy is assigned a new one automatically.

Let's say I have a shape selected in the example above and I add the XML part, then copy/paste the shape, the new shape has been assigned the same XML data but with a different GUID.

How can I find out what that new GUID is?!

Is it deliberately inaccessible for security reasons or is this just an incomplete part of the PowerPoint OM?

Hi Guys,

we have a PowerPoint running a presentation on a TV. the PowerPoint loops through all slides fine and when it gets to the end it goes back to the beginning. the problem is, we have a mouse plugged in so users can click and move the slides forward if they want to view a different slide.

once this 'click' has occurred the slideshow will stop automatically transitioning between slides.

is there an option we can turn on for this?

Dear experts,

I am planning to draw venn diagrams in MS word. How do i colour code the overlapping area separately rather than the original circle.

For instance inthe below video (taken from public domain)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRJQn1AMik8

The presenter swtiches colour/bars for a part of the diagram/shape rather than the entire shape.

I am happy to prepare my notes in MS Powerpoint if that will help my objective.

Kindly advice.

Thank you

Hi,

Is it possible in powerpoint to covert the paragraph into bullet points using vba? What I meant is, for example, I have below paragraph

Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an implementation of Microsoft's event-driven programming language Visual Basic 6, which was discontinued in 2008, and its associated integrated development environment (IDE). Although Visual Basic is no longer supported or updated by Microsoft, VBA itself got upgraded in 2010 with the introduction of Visual Basic for Applications 7 in Microsoft Office applications.[1] Visual Basic for Applications enables building user-defined functions (UDFs), automating processes and accessing Windows API and other low-level functionality through dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). It supersedes and expands on the abilities of earlier application-specific macro programming languages such as Word's WordBasic. It can be used to control many aspects of the host application, including manipulating user interface features, such as menus and toolbars, and working with custom user forms or dialog boxes

And now what I want is each sentence should come on new line , shown as below.

1. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an implementation of Microsoft's event-driven programming language Visual Basic 6, which was discontinued in 2008, and its associated integrated development environment (IDE).
2. Although Visual Basic is no longer supported or updated by Microsoft, VBA itself got upgraded in 2010 with the …

When students in an IT suite try to save files in PowerPoint 2016, they get the following error message when selecting a save location:

"An error occurred while opening the file dialog. Please save your presentation, exit, and restart PowerPoint."

This doesn't occur when logged in as a domain admin.

Any ideas?

Hello,

We are on our way to a full migration from Office to GSuite here at my agency.  We are wanting to phase out Word and Powerpoint from our users but stil allow them to keep Excel.  Is it possible to utilize a group policy to push a silent removal of these 2 pieces of the software?  Is there a better way to do this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
