I'm trying to configure a SharePoint Online document library so that it includes an Enterprise Keyword column that is required.  The column is added to the library, not to a specific content type, and there are no custom content types defined.  Each time I try to make the column data 'Required' in column settings, the toggle changes back to 'No.'

SIP and Primary SMTP domains do not match. Skype for Business 2015 client displays EWS not deployed.
Hello, I have an Exchange 2007 and Skype for Business 2015 Server on-premise solution deployed.
Originally, functioning fine with SAN certs using <company>.org domain for required certs on mail server and SfB 2015 Standard Edition solution (Standard, Edge and WAP servers).
Primary SMTP domain was <longcompanyname>.com  (domain NOT included in the SAN certs) and everything functioned fine including Conversation History and Calendar synch between Outlook (2007-2013) and Skype for Business 2015 client.
Fast forward a few years and....
New domain purchased and Primary SMTP for each user changed to <shortcompanyname>.com
NOW, Conversation History and Calendar do NOT synch with Outlook anymore.
Research appeared to state I can have this circumstance without issue after running 'Set-CsClientPolicy -DisableEmailComparisonCheck $true'
Ran the powershell command on the SfB Standard Edition server, rebooted test client and SfB solution. STill Outlook Integration Error and EWS not deployed in SfB client Configuration info.
Advice?

I have just started to deploy and learn Microsoft Power Bi. I installed the BI gateway and able to get it connected in the portal.  My question is, how to i make a BI workspace that calls to that data?  DO i need the BI desktop app or can i not create that from the portal?

I am using SharePoint online (365), and am having an issue inviting 'external' users to a site collection. A few months ago, inviting users to the site worked without issue. We were able to share the site with multiple users on different domains, and each was able to view with the proper permissions they were assigned (invited from a group in "People & Groups"). I recently encountered an issue using the "Share" command, or trying to add users to groups. Doing so resulted in a pop-up error "Could not resolve memberid, (followed by the user i was inviting)"; after clearing the browser cache, this issue ceased, and I was able to invite people without getting any errors. The user would show up in the SharePoint groups & Office 365 "People" as 'user_domain_com#ext#sharepointdomain.onmicrosoft.com' after sending the invitation, and the link would send to their email; however when they use the link, they get the following:

If I invite 'user@domain.com', the message is:

"Access denied, the user 'user_domain_com#ext#sharepointdomain.onmicrosoft.com' does not have permission to view the site."

The user's email, name, and info seems to be correctly adding to the groups I assign & invite them to. External sharing is turned on at the top site collection level, and on the site itself. I have checked both via the SharePoint admin center, and the "Site Settings". Additionally, Azure AD shows them as "Users" with their proper email addresses.

Thanks

Hopefully, someone can assist. Ideally this is the 2nd time I have worked with Azure APIs - in more of a sysadmin role vs Developer.

Essentially what I want is to export the Non-Compliance Microsoft Azure Policies to a HTML report, there is no currently way of doing this so worked on my own method.

Connecting to the PolicyAssignments API I have been successfully able to export the: Azure Policy Names, Azure Policy Descriptions however not the Non Compliant resources or policies. Essentially what I am getting back is a '0', which although is really nice! I know it not to be the truth!

Attached to this post is a screenshot of the HTML export I have managed to do, but don't understand why the Resources & Policies are all coming up as '0'.

This is the code I have so far:

$PolicyResults = @()
ForEach ($subid in $subscriptionId)

{

    $Headers = @{
        'authorization' = "Bearer $token"
        'host'          = 'management.azure.com'
        'contentype'    = 'application/json'
    }

    $url = "https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/$subid/providers/Microsoft.Authorization/policyAssignments?api-version=2017-06-01-preview"

    $policies = Invoke-RestMethod  -Uri $url  -Headers $Headers -Method Get

ForEach ($policy in $policies.value) {

    $id = $policy.name
    $resources =

SSRS Report Builder - Export to CSV issue; Double Quotes exist for each record.

We have a report that is scheduled to produce a CSV file.
This file is consumed by another application and requires specific formatting in order to successfully process the file.
The following entry has been configured within the 'rsreportserver.config' file:

<Extension Name="CSV (No Header)" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.DataRenderer.CsvReport,Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataRendering">
                        <OverrideNames>
                              <Name Language="en-AU"> CSV No Header</Name>
                        </OverrideNames>
                        <Configuration>
                              <DeviceInfo>
                                    <NoHeader>true</NoHeader>
                                    <Extension>CSV</Extension>
                                    <Encoding>UTF-8</Encoding>
                                    <Qualifier></Qualifier>
                              </DeviceInfo>
                        </Configuration>
                  </Extension>

The file that is being generated from this contains double quotes at the start and end of each record (see below).

I'm having no luck with this on Google.

I need to create a custom report in SCCM that will list out all systems that have not rebooted within the last 14 days.  I'm completely unfamiliar with creating SCCM reports.  I'm looking for a step-by-step on how to create this report.  So far, I've found lots of SQL statements that don't work but that's about it.

If you have a link to a video or article on how to do this it would be great!

Thank you,

Cloud Class® Course: Microsoft Office 2010

This course will introduce you to the interfaces and features of Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. You will learn about the features that are shared between all products in the Office suite, as well as the new features that are product specific.

In SCCM, our Endpoint Definition deployment runs and a large number of the systems show up in the error tab.

Status:  Failed to install update(s)
Error Code: 0x00000000
Error Description: Success

Makes no sense.  I have read that this has something to do with the client needing to check in.

Version is 2016 and the clients are all Windows 10.

I am trying to update a Powershell script we used in SharePoint 2007 for SharePoint 365. It takes SQL data and matches to a SharePoint list, adding and updating items.
In old SharePoint, we can open Powershell and step thru each line of the script.
I don’t know what the equivalent in SharePoint 365 is. I have installed SharePoint Online Management Shell. I can open this and enter some commands for credentials. However, I don’t know the best way to execute my new script, especially to execute one line at a time.
Can you point  me in the right direction?

I am interested in trying to use PowerShell against our company SharePoint portal, We have some automation Tools like MS Flow and Alteryx Server that we are leveraging and I am trying to connect to a Workflow History listing. However, it is hidden from these other tools and I hoping Powershell might be an option.

I am trying to install and get it to work our on AWS EC2 environment and I keep having a lot of trouble adding the Add-In for SharePoint,

I tried following this kind of instruction but had zero success.

Any suggestions?

We are having an issue with Offline Folders disconnecting when saving from Office 365 2016 products. I'll use Word 2016 as the example. Word is version 1708 Build 8431.2250, Windows 10 pro is the OS, Version 1709 build 16299.431 Server is 2008r2 all updates. This seems to have started with April's Office updates.
Steps to reproduce: Open an explorer window to a location set to "always available offline", then open an existing word doc or create a new word doc an save it to the same Offline Folder synced with Sync Center that you opened in explorer, you should see the status go to offline. I've been able to reproduce this at will on multiple computers. The folder will automatically go back online in a few minutes.
I am able to drag and drop to the offline folder with no issues, and I am able to save from Adobe Acrobat Pro and Bluebeam among others with no issue. I only have a problem with Microsoft Office products.
Any help is appreciated.

I have a request to add breadcrumbs back to sharepoint 2013. I have seen several tutorials on how to do this by editing the default master page. But I only want to apply the breadcrumbs to certain sub-sites and libraries. Is this possible?

In our Sharepoint site, we have 2 lists.
One we'll call list A (which is the master list) and list B (which is almost the same list, but with less fields).

  • List A is only accessible by a small group of persons (let's call the group G).
  • List B is accessible to everybody.

Our workflow is structured in such way that when you create an element in List B, it gets copied in List A and deleted from List B. The goal is to enable anyone to create entries in List A, but with limited access to certain fields.
If a user of group G creates an element in List B, the workflow works perfect (since the user has "contribute" access on List A, being member of group G).
But if any user NOT member of group G creates an element in List B, the workflow doesn't work, because it uses the same credentials as the user logged in who doesn't have "contribute" access on List A.

My question is :
Can we and how easy is it to impersonnate another users account in Sharepoint in a workflow process? The goal would be to impersonnate a generic user account that would have "contribute" access on List A and use that account just to make the copy on List A.

My second question is :
If it's not possible to impersonnate (or if it's not a good practice for security matters), how could I manage such a situation?

Thanks,
Claude

Hello,

I have a testlab environment that has

A local DC (Server 2016) with ADSync to AzureAD
E3 trial subscription
Some Windows 10 Client machines on same LAN as local AD

When a user logs on the client machine, you need to enter username+password for desktop installed apps, such as onedrive and skype.
I dream about SSO and wonder if it can be used to make these desktop apps signin automatically
I'm looking for a way the user would only need to type the username+password for logon to the computer/domain, not to keep having to re-type it for each desktop installed application.

How can I get SSO working with Microsoft Desktop installed apps ?

We use Ken's Skypeoptimzer site to create our dialing rules. we've used failover routing in the same site for this.

unfortunately an unintended result is: any external inbound call to one of our users which has simring enabled, results in the sim ring leg of the call going out via our second SIP trunk and not through the same trunk as the inbound call. this becomes an issue since our Secondary 'failover' trunk is infact a pstn gateway which cannot pass the original calling parties call id on the outbound call id of the simring portion of the call.

we do have an sbc which we can add the pstn gateway to (the same one which controls the primary SIP Trunk), the issue is this would introduce a single point of failure into the call path.

has anyone successfully managed to deal with this issue?

Over one month ago I setup a new Server 2012 / Exchange 2016 with the intention of migrating the existing Exchange 2010. No disruption of services was the highest priority so installation progressed at a glacier rate. We finally reached a point where both mail server were operational, the 2016 server could send out email, the 2010 server continued to run the show. Last weekend I changed firewall settings so that the new 2016 server handled both inbound and outbound email and proxied down to the 2010. Worked great for about 5 days; no one was even aware of the change. As of last night...

1) 213 outbound emails stuck in queue

2) OWA gets a "page not found error"

3) Exchange Admin Center shows the login screen but displays a blank page and hangs. Even more interesting is the ECP folder is empty.  There is only a config file.

Temporary fix - changed the firewall settings back to the old server. It would be nice to get the 2016 to deliver the emails stuck in the queue.

Short of completely reinstalling Exchange 2016, is there a way of fixing this? And more importantly, how did it happen?

I am trying to include some text blocks on a SharePoint 2013 Survey.  It would seem that there would be some functionality that allows for this, but there is not.  Is there a way around this?  I need to include some titles and directions at the beginning of the survey, and some informational text throughout the survey.
