Microsoft server applications are those applications developed specifically, but not necessarily exclusively, on the Windows Server platform. In addition to well-known products like SQL Server, Exchange, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft Dynamics, Forefront, Lync and Sharepoint, they include applications like Skype, BizTalk, Hyper-V, Groove and Commerce Server. Server applications are managed with the Microsoft System Center.

SSRS Report Builder - Export to CSV issue; Double Quotes exist for each record.

We have a report that is scheduled to produce a CSV file.
This file is consumed by another application and requires specific formatting in order to successfully process the file.
The following entry has been configured within the 'rsreportserver.config' file:

<Extension Name="CSV (No Header)" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.DataRenderer.CsvReport,Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataRendering">
                        <OverrideNames>
                              <Name Language="en-AU"> CSV No Header</Name>
                        </OverrideNames>
                        <Configuration>
                              <DeviceInfo>
                                    <NoHeader>true</NoHeader>
                                    <Extension>CSV</Extension>
                                    <Encoding>UTF-8</Encoding>
                                    <Qualifier></Qualifier>
                              </DeviceInfo>
                        </Configuration>
                  </Extension>

The file that is being generated from this contains double quotes at the start and end of each record (see below).

I'm having no luck with this on Google.

I need to create a custom report in SCCM that will list out all systems that have not rebooted within the last 14 days.  I'm completely unfamiliar with creating SCCM reports.  I'm looking for a step-by-step on how to create this report.  So far, I've found lots of SQL statements that don't work but that's about it.

If you have a link to a video or article on how to do this it would be great!

Thank you,

In SCCM, our Endpoint Definition deployment runs and a large number of the systems show up in the error tab.

Status:  Failed to install update(s)
Error Code: 0x00000000
Error Description: Success

Makes no sense.  I have read that this has something to do with the client needing to check in.

Version is 2016 and the clients are all Windows 10.

We are having an issue with Offline Folders disconnecting when saving from Office 365 2016 products. I'll use Word 2016 as the example. Word is version 1708 Build 8431.2250, Windows 10 pro is the OS, Version 1709 build 16299.431 Server is 2008r2 all updates. This seems to have started with April's Office updates.
Steps to reproduce: Open an explorer window to a location set to "always available offline", then open an existing word doc or create a new word doc an save it to the same Offline Folder synced with Sync Center that you opened in explorer, you should see the status go to offline. I've been able to reproduce this at will on multiple computers. The folder will automatically go back online in a few minutes.
I am able to drag and drop to the offline folder with no issues, and I am able to save from Adobe Acrobat Pro and Bluebeam among others with no issue. I only have a problem with Microsoft Office products.
Any help is appreciated.

I need to create a SharePoint application in SharePoint Online that behaves like a relational database.
In that I would have a Parent list with two related Child lists.  The child lists would
NOT be look up, but rather collect information in a one to many relationship between
the Parent and children.

For example.

Parent List: Projects
Child List 1: Actions
Child List 2: Issues

I have seen a number of ways to relate SharePoint List in a lookup capacity. But, I need
create multiple child records from the Parent list. For Example:

Parent List: Project
ProjectID
Project Name
Project Desc
Project Start Date

Child List1: Actions
ProjectID
Action Desc
Status

Child List2: Issues
ProjectID
Issue Desc
Status

For example (records):

Project:
ProjectID: 1
Project Name: SharePoint Project Reports
Project Desc: Create SharePoint Monthly Project Reports
Project Start Date: 4/1/2018

Open in new window

Actions:
ProjectID: 1
Action Desc: Obtain liciencing for all users
Status: In Progress

ProjectID: 1
Action Desc: Create SharePoint Site for new Application
Status: Completed

ProjectID: 1
Action Desc: Gather Project Reports Requirements
Status: In Progress

Open in new window

Issues:
ProjectID: 1
Issue Desc: User Licenses have not yet been approved
Status: Initiated

ProjectID: 1
Issue Desc: May need additional equipment for users
Status: Initiated

Open in new window

I need help finding a method that will allow me to add multiple child records from the Parent list.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a request to add breadcrumbs back to sharepoint 2013. I have seen several tutorials on how to do this by editing the default master page. But I only want to apply the breadcrumbs to certain sub-sites and libraries. Is this possible?

I am trying to us column formatting in SharePoint Online and am very new to JSON.  I am trying to use conditional formatting based on another column.  This was the code I was using when we could do calculated columns.

I would really appreciate anyones help getting me started on how to do this.

We are trying to deploy OneDrive.  We have Office 365 Enterprise E2 licenses for the users.  When I’m using a test user to login to OneDrive, I keep getting this error and I don’t understand why.

In our Sharepoint site, we have 2 lists.
One we'll call list A (which is the master list) and list B (which is almost the same list, but with less fields).

  • List A is only accessible by a small group of persons (let's call the group G).
  • List B is accessible to everybody.

Our workflow is structured in such way that when you create an element in List B, it gets copied in List A and deleted from List B. The goal is to enable anyone to create entries in List A, but with limited access to certain fields.
If a user of group G creates an element in List B, the workflow works perfect (since the user has "contribute" access on List A, being member of group G).
But if any user NOT member of group G creates an element in List B, the workflow doesn't work, because it uses the same credentials as the user logged in who doesn't have "contribute" access on List A.

My question is :
Can we and how easy is it to impersonnate another users account in Sharepoint in a workflow process? The goal would be to impersonnate a generic user account that would have "contribute" access on List A and use that account just to make the copy on List A.

My second question is :
If it's not possible to impersonnate (or if it's not a good practice for security matters), how could I manage such a situation?

Thanks,
Claude

Scans your site and returns information about your SSL implementation and certificate. Helpful for debugging and validating your SSL configuration.

One of a set of tools we are providing to everyone as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the community.

We use Ken's Skypeoptimzer site to create our dialing rules. we've used failover routing in the same site for this.

unfortunately an unintended result is: any external inbound call to one of our users which has simring enabled, results in the sim ring leg of the call going out via our second SIP trunk and not through the same trunk as the inbound call. this becomes an issue since our Secondary 'failover' trunk is infact a pstn gateway which cannot pass the original calling parties call id on the outbound call id of the simring portion of the call.

we do have an sbc which we can add the pstn gateway to (the same one which controls the primary SIP Trunk), the issue is this would introduce a single point of failure into the call path.

has anyone successfully managed to deal with this issue?

Over one month ago I setup a new Server 2012 / Exchange 2016 with the intention of migrating the existing Exchange 2010. No disruption of services was the highest priority so installation progressed at a glacier rate. We finally reached a point where both mail server were operational, the 2016 server could send out email, the 2010 server continued to run the show. Last weekend I changed firewall settings so that the new 2016 server handled both inbound and outbound email and proxied down to the 2010. Worked great for about 5 days; no one was even aware of the change. As of last night...

1) 213 outbound emails stuck in queue

2) OWA gets a "page not found error"

3) Exchange Admin Center shows the login screen but displays a blank page and hangs. Even more interesting is the ECP folder is empty.  There is only a config file.

Temporary fix - changed the firewall settings back to the old server. It would be nice to get the 2016 to deliver the emails stuck in the queue.

Short of completely reinstalling Exchange 2016, is there a way of fixing this? And more importantly, how did it happen?

I just recently installed System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager 2016.
I'm now starting to run some initial configuration tasks on Operations manager.
My first configuration question:
1. I started the discovery wizard and noticed I can choose either Agent or Agentless for the management mode.
I'm a little concerned about pushing an agent and the added burden on the servers or workstations .
Can someone enlighten me  on Agent vs Agentless, maybe pros and cons of each ? what people typically choose ?

2. Question - being new to System Center does anyone have a good configuration Video or document, for Operations manger for some initial simple monitoring?

I want to make sure whatever I run doesn't cripple my environment,  I'm thinking of only monitoring a handful of nodes to start off, does that make sense ?

Any system center Expert Feedback is appreciated.

I am trying to include some text blocks on a SharePoint 2013 Survey.  It would seem that there would be some functionality that allows for this, but there is not.  Is there a way around this?  I need to include some titles and directions at the beginning of the survey, and some informational text throughout the survey.

Hello all, we are migrating from Lync 2010 on prem to Skype for Business in O365. Part of this move will be a transition to Webex for folks who have PTSN conference creation rights. Rather than move everyone to Webex with those rights, were looking to move only those that have created conferences within a defined time period.

Question is, how do i pull a report to show the number of PTSN conferences created per user, over a 12 month period?

thanks in advance.

I am upgrading CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 for two organizations (CRMTEST and CRMPROD).  The plan is to upgrade each org to newer CRM versions to get to Dynamics 365 (so CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 to CRM 2015 to CRM 2016 to Dynamics 365)

My question is: we have built one CRM server to Dynamics 365 specs and one SQL Server built to Dynamics 365 requirements.  Is it recommended to have separate servers for  the CRMTEST org and CRMPROD org?  Given our current VMs, we would need to upgrade to a single set of servers, with CRMTEST and CRMPROD on the same Dynamics 365 servers.

The current CRM 2011 environments have separate servers for CRMTEST and CRMPROD.  What could be the problems with both TEST and PROD on the same servers?  For example, could this cause issues with refreshing CRMTEST with CRMPROD?

Thanks

I keep seeing this error message on two 100% identical (same hardware ProLiant DL380p G8, 8 GB RAM on each, same 2012 R2 o/s, same updates) servers that are currently
doing nothing and have nothing else installed in terms of roles and
features except file server. No Exchange, no DC, etc.
Both are physical servers (NO virtualization running on them) on the same network in the same AD domain as all other servers that do not show this error
They both have Shadow Copies enabled and configured for previous versions of files/folders,

All of my Office 365 users have a Office 365 Business Premium license.   We have Conference numbers and Conference IDs assigned by our Audio conferencing service. I see where it takes about using 3rd Party and Import/Export, though I don't actually see where you can enter in the 3rd Party Provider and Import the Numbers for the users.

If I select one of the existing Providers they all want a 6 Digit Conference ID, ours are all 4 Digit.

I would like to be able to use our existing Audio Conferencing system with Skype For Business.

Thanks,

I have SharePoint 2013 running on Server 2012 R2 Standard.
We have a fairly basic site that consists almost exclusively of document repositories.
I've been trying to configure the Search Service Application to crawl the site for search indexing.
Initially, I followed recommendations found online to create a Default Content Access Account for the Search Service, and gave it permissions to both the SQL databases, as well as full read permissions to the Web Application for the site.

After adding the site as a Content Source, I started a crawl and received the following error:
Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled.

To try and narrow down the permissions issue, I switched the Search Service to use an account with full administrative permissions to the Web Application, and received the same error.

So far, I've tried using an account that has explicit Full Control permissions both on the Web Application and the Site Permissions. As well as Full Control permissions on the Search Service Application itself, same error.
I've tried using the Farm account as well, same error.

I've tried creating a new Application Pool for the Search Service.
I've tried creating a new Search Service …
