I'm trying to install Crashplan. It's a backup software that installs as a service.
I get the error shown in the picture. That it can't create the service because of insufficient privileges.

Prior to this, I had deleted all references to Crashplan in the registry along with all folders from a prior installation.

I have tried to give myself rights using this solution: https://community.pharos.com/thread/2372

It still does not work and I was hoping someone would have an idea on how to troubleshoot this.

Thank you

How much does Box.com charge for storing files in the cloud?

I have seen that they say that you can store an unlimited number of files in the cloud but I haven't found where they mention how much this costs for storing large amounts of files.

People,

I'm trying to implement email resiliency solution internally and also externally with no Load Balancer access, so I came up with the below Idea:

http://www.tutorius.com/setting-up-a-dns-round-robin-in-windows
http://exchange929.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/high-availability-for-exchange-2013-cas.html

which I will be applying for all of my Exchange Server 2013 Std. Edition running CAS role:

Internally
AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 1 internal IP address on AD Site 1
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 1 internal IP address on AD Site 1

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 2 internal IP address on AD Site 2
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 2 internal IP address on AD Site 2

...

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server N internal IP address on AD Site N
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server N internal IP address on AD Site N

and also Externally
AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 1 public IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 1 public IP address on the internet.

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 2 public  IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 2 public  IP address on the internet.

...

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server N public IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server N public  IP

Hello experts, I have a client running Server 2012 with 10 client PCs, the Symantec anti virus flagged up a dodgy file this morning, it blocked it but it prompted me to investigate. I found that one of the client PCs shows logon activity using the computername$ account at about the same time as the file was found, and later on the server computername$ account. The system is using a draytek router, which had Remote desktop enabled previously, this has been turned off since January but when I checked the firewall, port 3389 was still enabled. I have disabled that and rebooted the router. I am currently only using VPN as remote access.
So far, all appears OK on the system. My question is regarding the $ accounts, I was aware of them but never used them, can they be used without a password to gain full access, is there anything that can be done to guard against this?

Is it Safe to import more than one Hyper-V virtual machine within Server 2012 R2 at same time?

I would like to import two or more VMs at the same time but will only do this if it is safe and won't cause any problems.

I've just installed and activated Server 2016, and learned that I need to use the sconfig utility to set my Windows Update preferences, as download only mode and manual mode aren't exposed in the new GUI.

When I launch sconfig, the "Windows Update Settings" setting is set to custom.  However, whenever I try to switch to manual mode (option 5, then the letter M), the console displays "Setting updates to Manual...", and a separate alert appears, "Windows Update set to Custom.  System has custom configuration for updates."  After I dismiss the alert, the sconfig main menu reappears, and the setting is still "custom".  Here's a screenshot of what I'm referring to:

Sconfig issue
Why won't sconfig accept the manual setting?  This server doesn't participate in WSUS, and all of the WU settings in local policy (Computer Config-->Admin Templates-->Windows Components-->Windows Update) show as "Not Configured".

We currently have 2 domain controllers both running server 2008 R2.
We want to replace these with either 2012 R2 or 2016.
I am wondering what is the best way to accomplish this and what would the steps be to get this done?

People,

I've got the plan to create IP-less DAG for all of my 4x Exchange 2013 Std. SP1 Mailbox servers:

AD Site: Default-First Site-Name
PRODMAIL20-VM [Windows Server 2012 R2 Std.] Mailbox Server role +CAS role

AD Site: Head_Office
PRODMAIL30-VM [Windows Server 2012 R2 Std.] Mailbox Server role only
PRODMAIL42-VM [Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center] Mailbox Server + CAS role

AD Site: Branch_Office1
PRODMAIL01-VM [Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center] Mailbox Server + CAS role

All of them have different IP addressing class and separate data center.

Would that be possible to setup DAG across those 4x different Mailbox servers?

Each of the mailbox server will be running:
5x Active Database (Primary)
5x Passive Database (Secondary)

I have recently published Sage50 on a Windows 2012 R2 and I'm running on an untypical issue, apparently Sage50  calls a dependency called sagemrg.exe which gives me the 1st picture attached below, this message comes up on the very first attempt to connect to the remote app then the screen closes by itself and then when I try to invoke the app again I get to the main Sage50 screen just normally as picture 2 shows attached. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi All,

I've got QNAP iSCSI LUN that is presented as 46 TB NTFS LUN, it is intermittently causing data corruption hence it is quite annoying for me to delete all backup job and then starting it again from the beginning.

When I run the CHKDSK on my existing backup repository, I got this error below:

Hi,

I'm working on a new project and need to create and add a new temporary Mailbox Database in an existing DAG in Exchange 2010. This will be a Single Mailbox Database Copy DAG and will used for importing PST files into the Exchange 2010 environment as part of an existing migration project.

Do you know the correct procedure step by step for this?

Hi All,

My newly running Exchange mailbox server 2013 SP1 is now running fine after migrating from multi roles Exchange 2013 SP1 CAS- MBX running on Windows 2008 R2.

So what's the step so I can decommission this old Windows Server 2008 R2 without impacting the email flow for all users during the business hours ?

Do I need to prepare anything to do after hours ?

I am updating exchange 2013 from CU15 to CU16.
From the documentation I can see that CU15 and CU16 have same schema versions
Exchange                     Forest (rangeUpper)                 Forest (objectVersion)                  Domain (objectVersion)
2013 CU10-CU16(*)            15312                                             16130                                              13236

Thus I think just running the CU16 installer on the exchange servers should be the only step required in this update.
Is that correct or do I need to still run prepare schema/AD/domain?

Hi,

I have started to migrated users from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016. Everything is working fine. I have only one issue..with Outlook. User migrated need are asked for credentials. They have a message. "Your administrator has mad changes"

They need to introduce the passwor. It is by design?

Or have I configured something incorrectly?

Thanksss
