I've got the PeoplePicker from https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/pnp-people-picker-control-for-spfx/ to work.
Now I'd like to add other controls like labels, textboxes and drop downs to populate the other fields in my Sharepoint list.
How do I do this?
Below is my render method which includes a label, textbox and default button.  I don't know how to update the Sharepoint lists with what is in the textbox when I press the default button?  The People Picker works.

public render(): React.ReactElement<IPnPPeoplePickerProps>

  {
    const txtFirstName = getId('anInput');
    return (
      <div className={ styles.pnPPeoplePicker }>
        <div className={ styles.container }>
          <div className={ styles.row }>
            <div className={ styles.column }>
              <span className={ styles.title }>Welcome to SharePoint!</span>
              <p className={ styles.subTitle }>Customize SharePoint experiences using Web Parts.</p>

              <div>
              <Label required={true}>I'm a required Label</Label>
              <Label htmlFor={txtFirstName}>A Label for An Input</Label>
              <TextField id={txtFirstName} />
              </div>

              <PeoplePicker
                context={this.props.context}
                titleText="People Picker"
                personSelectionLimit={3}
                groupName={""} // Leave this blank in case you want to filter from all users
                showtooltip={true}

SharePoint 2013 On-Premise

We have a user showing all content on one one side (in a column) of the page when opening a Team Site.  We are looking for a way to reset the page.    The links on the page continue to work but the page is not formatted correctly.

We have tried 3 different browsers, clearing the cache but this formatting issue continues.  This only happens for this user, all other 400 users see the page correctly.

Thanks

I have put the zip file from https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/pnp-people-picker-control-for-spfx/ into a webpart (after unzipping it). I'm trying to update my Sharepoint list.

With the PersonName field (Set as Person or Group in Sharepoint online) commented out it works. However when the PersonName field is not commented out it fails with this message. I followed the import instructions, but was wondering if my node modules directory is incorrect or if there is a difference between the Sharepoint used and my version of sharepoint online.

```
  @autobind
 private addSelectedUsers(): void {
 sp.web.lists.getByTitle("AlistairTest").items.add({
  Title: getGUID(),
  //With these lines commented out it works.  I changed the field name from User to PersonName when
  //I created the column.
  PersonName: {
      results: this.state.addUsers
  }
   }).then(i => {
    console.log(i);
   });
}
```

Hi, any help with this enigma! would be much appreciated. I am using SharePoint 2016 on-prem,,,,,

ISSUE:
I have created a new SharePoint list and would like to use an an internal URL in a SharePoint hyperlink column control. The Internal URL loads a client-side program. Unfortunately, the hyperlink control insists on the https:// to be present. The internal URL does not require http:// or https://.  See image of the internal URL .

Sharepoint-Hyperlink-column.png
I have tried using a new 'single line of text' column and the Edit Source option to add a <a href> tag to create a hyperlink for the internal URL and some javascript. Again, SharePoint strips out the code leaving a dud hyperlink.

Is there a column / setting that allows a URL without the https:// OR is there a way of using the SharePoint hyperlink column initially with the https:// and then (via code) when the hyperlink is clicked on the https:// is ignored / removed and the Internal URL is just read?

Thanks in advance.

Good Morning,

My company is a tenant of Sharepoint Online and I am the administrator for it.

I have been given the task of moving all of the companies files from a file server to Sharepoint Online.

In my attempts I have been successful, but due to the amount of folders/files, I have exceeded the ‘Limit View Threshold’ (LVT) for some of my document libraries.

I have been reading that enabling metadata for a document library and using different views would help with avoiding the LVT problem.

I have one particular document library with 17,280 folders and 340,162 files within it. Restructuring this folder will take too long, so I would like to try the metadata option. But, as there are so many files assigning the metadata would also take too long. I’ve read that I can use a excel spreadsheet to speed the process up of all the files, but I am unable to find any clear guide on doing this process from start to finish.

Can someone please provide the steps on how I can proceed with tagging all of these files to use metadata. If there is an easier way to use metadata for a large group of files I would like to know this as well.

Please note that increasing the LVT limit or removing it completely is not an option. Also please do not recommend any alternative systems to use instead of Sharepoint, as we have been instructed by Corporate to use it. Using Sharepoint Document Center (for static content) is also not an option.

Appreciate your time and assistance with …

Hi All,

Currently looking at a SharePoint 2010 to 2013 migration. I am following a few guides available on the Internet. Quick question. On the guide that I am following here: https://www.sharepointdiary.com/2013/09/migrate-from-sharepoint-2010-to-2013-step-by-step.html

I am assuming when it says to setup the new site as per the old site, I use a different URL when first setting up the new site? Secondly I am also assuming before I restore the database etc I need to setup the Kerberos SPN etc as per here: https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/configuring-kerberos-authentication-on-share-point-2013-2016-web-application/

Please feel free to let me know if I am missing anything or if there are better guides / methods to complete this. What we want is to be able to move to SharePoint 2013 on a new server whilst the old one is live Once happy, turn the old one off and use the new one. I don't mind telling our users to use a different url to point to the new one once all is well.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi,
We need to export members of a SharePoint user group to a text file on a schedule. I found below sites with a script that can do that.
(http://sharepoint-works.blogspot.com/2013/01/export-sharepoint-group-to-excel-using.html)
(https://chaddtalks.wordpress.com/2015/10/05/export-a-list-of-users-from-a-specific-sharepoint-group/)

$SiteUrl="https://portal.site.com";
$GroupName="Site Members";
$Output = @("GroupName|Name|Login|Email|Department|Title")
$web = Get-SPWeb $siteUrl
$site = $web.Site
$rootWeb = $site.RootWeb
$UserList = $rootWeb.Lists["User Information List"]
$web.SiteGroups[$groupName].Users|%{$user = $UserList.GetItemById($_.ID)
if($user -ne $null)
{
$JobTitle = $user["JobTitle"]
$Department = $user["Department"]
}
$Output += ($groupName+"|"+$_.Name+"|"+$_.UserLogin+"|"+$_.Email+"|"+$Department +"|"+$JobTitle)
}
$rootWeb.Dispose()
$web.Dispose()
$site.Dispose()
$Output > "GroupMembers.csv"

When I run the script , it dumps the users to csv file but I'm getting a bunch of below errors. Is there a way to fix the script so it won't have these errors?

You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression.
At C:\export.ps1:9 char:37
+ $web.SiteGroups[$groupName].Users|%{$user = $UserList.GetItemById($_.ID)
+                                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (:) [], RuntimeException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : InvokeMethodOnNull

Thank you.

Hi All,

We currently are running SharePoint 2010 Foundation on a Win 2008 R2 server. At minimum we would want to move to SharePoint 2013 Foundation on a Windows 2012 Server. I believe their is no SharePoint 2016 foundation available?

Assuming we cant go to 2016 without buying the full version, what is the process to move our data setup from our old server onto the new 2013 one. (If we can go to 2016 how do we do this?)

Are there alternative options that I haven't mentioned?

Cheers,
Paul

Hi - We have a client who has signed up for a Office 365 Business Premium subscription. They have not added a custom domain to the tenant yet as they wanted to be sure that the applications within the subscription met their requirements. Users are currently accessing Office 365 services using the 'onmicrosoft.com' accounts. During the testing, they have setup 4 SharePoint sites. Testing has gone well and they now want to setup a custom domain.

After adding a custom domain, what further action needs to be taken to ensure everything functions correctly using the custom domain?

1) Assume I will need to update users email address with new custom domain details?
2) Will any tweaks be required within the existing SharePoint sites? If so, what are they?
3) Are there any other actions to be taken to ensure everything is set correctly?

I look forward to hearing from you.

I have a share-point question. I am trying to edit add a link to a site on this page but can figure out how to add a department to the current lists of departments. I have tried site settings and edit page and cant figure it out. I was able to create a new subsite and that added the site to the list but i am trying to add an existing site to the list. Can anyone help me learn how to do this? sp-departments.jpg

Hi - I'm looking for some help and guidance from the experts. I hope I explain it clearly enough.

We have a customer who is a franchisee. The franchisor controls the internet domain name and email services which are 'not' hosted with Microsoft. The same domain name is used by multiple franchisee's.

Our customer has subscribed to Office 365 to take advantage of the Office applications, particularly SharePoint Online and Teams.
I understand that the use of email is fundamental with SharePoint Online and Teams. As we have no control over the franchisor's internet domain name, we are not able to bring the custom domain into the Office 365 tenant. The customer would like to use their existing email addresses with SharePoint Online and Teams.

Is there a way that SharePoint Online and Teams can be used with email addresses hosted externally to Office 365? (at the moment they are using the Microsoft 'onmicrosoft' user accounts). If so, please provide guidance on how this can be achieved.
I look forward to hearing from you.

What is the best way to export an Outlook Mailbox to a Sharepoint list using C#?
The Sharepoint list columns are multiple lines of text.  The specific setting is rich text, but not enhance rich text.
Some of the fields may have characters that cannot be programmatically inserted.

in a sharepoint 2013 environment, which is the higher level of privileges, 'site owner' or 'site collection administrator'? And can give some basic information on what each allows some one to do in terms of security? Why would somebody require site owner or site collection administrator privileges?

I have Sharepoint Designer Workflows that worked fine - forever!  I made one small change, saved the workflow and it won't publish.  When checking for errors - there are none.
I tried publishing all of my other workflows -- same error -- variation of the following, depending on the size of the workflow:
(-1, -1) Type System.CodeDom.CodeBinaryOperatorExpression is not marked as authorized in the application configuration file.)
(0, 0) Activity 'ID5' validation failed: Property "Condition" has invalid value. Condition expression is invalid. The condition expression can not be null.)

Looks like something with the system???

Any ideas???
