What is the best way to export an Outlook Mailbox to a Sharepoint list using C#?
The Sharepoint list columns are multiple lines of text.  The specific setting is rich text, but not enhance rich text.
Some of the fields may have characters that cannot be programmatically inserted.

in a sharepoint 2013 environment, which is the higher level of privileges, 'site owner' or 'site collection administrator'? And can give some basic information on what each allows some one to do in terms of security? Why would somebody require site owner or site collection administrator privileges?

I have Sharepoint Designer Workflows that worked fine - forever!  I made one small change, saved the workflow and it won't publish.  When checking for errors - there are none.
I tried publishing all of my other workflows -- same error -- variation of the following, depending on the size of the workflow:
(-1, -1) Type System.CodeDom.CodeBinaryOperatorExpression is not marked as authorized in the application configuration file.)
(0, 0) Activity 'ID5' validation failed: Property "Condition" has invalid value. Condition expression is invalid. The condition expression can not be null.)

Looks like something with the system???

Any ideas???

In Access 2016/2010 I use the VBA code below to get last modified date of a file - and it works fine, excep when it comes to mdb files on a Sharepoint server - all other file extensions are fine, but not when it comes to mdb files - anyone know a reason and a workaround for this ? Same scenario if I use the built-in  FileDateTime function.

Maybe a built-in feature of /%¤/%¤ Sharepoint, as I see a lot of similar questions, but no solutions:
example

Function GetDateModified(strPath As String) As String
    Dim fso As Scripting.FileSystemObject
    Dim file As Scripting.file

    Set fso = New Scripting.FileSystemObject
    Set file = fso.GetFile(strPath)
    GetDateModified = file.DateLastModified
    Set fso = Nothing
    Set file = Nothing
End Function

Dear All,

We have a Microsoft Office 365 Business account,  and my boss wants us to have an Intranet setup. I guess we should upgrade to Business premium which comes with Sharepoint and Teams.

my question is: in this case, would "Teams" be set as an Intranet. We do have count-partner in different parts of Europe. We are in Switzerland and our business partners are in Denmark, the UK and Italy.

Can we set up an Intranet and those companies in those different countries could access our information (share documents) securely?

Also,  Microsoft will come to Switzerland in November as a setting up a local DATACENTER. So the DATA stays in Switzerland. Meanwhile, Could we still setting up an Intranet with O365 Apps?

Can you please advise?

Best regards,
Mallony

I have a Sharepoint list which includes a Person or Group type (rather than string) field.
The name of the field is Person Name where the person enters their name.

I'm writing a flow and would like to filter this field for a particular value.
I tried
 Person_x0020_Name eq 'value entered'

Open in new window

The Flow ran successfully, but returned no values.
I tried
 Person_x0020_Name/DisplayName eq 'value entered'

Open in new window

and got an error message.

We have Office 365 and are looking to capatiiise on its Sharepoint features.  We want to create a SharePoint front-end to our helpdesk system to prompt users for all necessary fields to enter a request from what we call our IT Service Catalog.

The IT Service Catalog is a list of standard services IT provides which require a standard set of data for IT to satisfy the request.  Each service would be associated with a form prompting the user for the details.

We see a it working as follows:

1) User navigates to page offering a link or drop down for each IT service (ex. "Add new SalesPerson to ERP", "Resore file from backup", etc)
2) User selects desired service (ex "Add new SalesPerson to ERP")
3) User is prompted with form with mandatory fields.  Some fields will be shared lists (ex Departments, etc) that we maintain and can share between the forms.
4) User provded data is validated (are all fields provided?  If an Excel file is needed has it be provided?)
5) An email is generated submitting all data to our helpdesk system

How can this be acheived using the version of Sharepoint we have?

I have a group of Marketing folks that are sharing a folder in SharePoint and sometimes more than one of them get into the same file and then the panic that changes are being made while they are making changes.  So 2 questions:

1.  If more than one person is in a file whose changes wins at the end?  The last person that leaves the file?

2. Is there any way of limiting file access to one person at a time?

Hello the experts,

This is my first post here, please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Explaning my problem is simple : I use shortcuts a lot, for various reasons, in various places. Each time my PC is changed or reinstalled (which happens quite often with our IT department, if the problem is not easily solved, let's just reinstall the machine !) it's a mess. Some shortcuts are lost. Some shortcuts don't work. Some shortcuts just vanish, pouf, empty file. Question : what could I do to avoid that as much as possible ?

I know the problem is much more complex than the question and it depends what shortcuts we're talking about, what I'm trying to do with them, and so on. But I don't need help on a very specific issue I need to solve. I would like to get global advise, internet references to "shortcut best practices", tricks & cheats, you see the idea.

Then I will study and apply all that next time they reinstall my PC (again...). Then I will probably come back and bother you with my unsolved issues. ;)

A few things that I should probably tell you :
- My machine is an pretty old mobile PC, dell intel core i5 blabla
- My files are ALL either on Onedrive perso, either on Sharepoint
- We use Chrome and are pretty much stuck with it
- My main habit with "local" (but on Onedrive) folders is right click on the file/folder I need on duplicate spots, create shortcut, move the shortcut whenever I need it
- My main habit with internet shortcuts is bring it from…

If one has a Sharepoint list it's possible to see the flows one has made that depend on the list.
What about the flows that other people have made that depend on the list.
For example I may want to change a Sharepoint list and notify those who have flows that depend on that list.
If I change a list, can I notify all those who have flows dependent on that list?

I am new to Microsoft Flow.  I have a Sharepoint list where a column has a user's date of birth and another column calculates their age.
How do I write a Flow to run each day and send a happy x (where x is their age) birthday email to people whose birthday it is today?

A SharePoint export  of a simple list to Excel from O365 is missing the autogenerated ID (number) column.  I need this column to complete the rest of the project.  I see that I can create a lookup field to copy that field but don't see how to make it copy the field automatically.  New items in the list show 'required field' and then the data has to be selected from a drop down.  I need it to fill upon creating the item. Do I need another list for the lookup? Then how do I make it increment normally?

I'm migrating of my file share data (home drives) to OneDrive for business (SharePoint Online) in a enterprise level environment.

Using the Sharepoint migration tool: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/introducing-the-sharepoint-migration-tool - I see the options to bulk migrate with a list of available options - although I can't seem to get past the destination window on a pre provisioned drive (more testing needed on my end).

A few questions for the experts:
1. Can a migration be performed without using the SPMT, and instead a robocopy?  I'm aware of fasttrack services but wanted to avoid if possible.

2. For the remediation of files and folders (illegal characters) file type restrictions - are there any powershell script resources anyone has used to identify and report out on these that anyone has a resource link to?

Thanks Experts!

On a web page, in my solution, there is an extra "v", that I can't seem to find in the source code. It's an ASP.NET page (SharePoint visual web part). When I view the page in a browser and choose View source I see this:
<tr>
        <td class="style5">
            &nbsp;</td>
        <td bgcolor="#F5F5F5" class="style6">
            <span id="ctl00_m_g_b503369d_31fd_47d1_b2c7_a677130130bb_ctl00_DecisionADTLabel"></span>
        </td>
    </tr>
    v
    <tr>
        <td class="style5">
            &nbsp;</td>
        <td bgcolor="#F5F5F5" class="style6">
            <span id="ctl00_m_g_b503369d_31fd_47d1_b2c7_a677130130bb_ctl00_DecisionMGECreditLabel"></span>
        </td>
    </tr>

Open in new window

You can see the v between the two tr tags in the middle. But in my code behind, it is not there:
  <tr>
        <td class="style5">
            &nbsp;</td>
        <td bgcolor="#F5F5F5" class="style6">
            <asp:Label ID="DecisionADTLabel" runat="server"></asp:Label>
        </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td class="style5">
            &nbsp;</td>
        <td bgcolor="#F5F5F5" class="style6">
            <asp:Label ID="DecisionMGECreditLabel" runat="server"></asp:Label>
        </td>
    </tr>

Open in new window

It looks very strange with this extra "v" by itself. How can I remove it?

Hi,

I’m looking to use PowerApps as a front end to a SharePoint list, I have a drop-down option for selecting City, I would like the rest of the address fields completing automatically to make the input quicker, how would I do this?

Thanks,

In a sharepoint web part I have an input box and would like it to display the name of the logged in user.
This is not working.  How do I fix it?

<input class="${styles.efTextField}"  type="text" disabled value=this.context.pageContext.user.displayName />

Hi,

We are using SQL SERVER 2016 in the Microsoft Azure cloud.  I have an existing ssis package that gets data from a sharepoint 2016 list.

I’m using vs2017.  The package runs fine on my workstation but not in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
Cloud error log says:  version 14 script is not supported.
So I changed the ssis targetServerVersion from 2017 to 2014, and that error went away.

But a new error appeared: odata source could not be upgraded to the newer version of the component.  The performance upgrade failed.

Note: the cloud does not show the OData source driver, the Azure cloud admin said use ‘sharepoint list adapter 2014’ driver.

Question:  should i get odata source working or replace how it gets data from a sharepoint list by using ‘sharepoint list adapter 2014’?
Please provide an example how to deploy ‘sharepoint list adapter 2014’ in SSIS (Visual Studio 2017).

thank you

We have a hybrid environment with several local domains syncing to one tenant. All users have Office365 subscriptions and are using their locally installed PowerPoint client. We do not push policies from the local domains.

Each company has its own PowerPoint template, but the different templates can be available for all companies.

I would like the templates to show when a users selects NEW in PowerPoint (local PowerPoint template) and that the templates shown are stored in a central place (preferably a SharePoint site). It is not needed that this is the default template, just a location is already good enough.

Thanks for any help!
Regards,
Mark

We being into logistics are working on an idea where the location of our fleet will let them know the information depending on their location (region).

All the fleet members are on o365 .  Since the usage location is not mapped from AD to O365, and from O365 to SPO, we are stuck.

Our development team has developed a code that can fetch the user profile of a user in SPO to get its location and shows the intended information related to that particular location

I found this: https://github.com/SharePoint/PnP/blob/master/Samples/UserProfile.BatchUpdate.API/CreateImportJob.ps1

But again we want to explore different option as above one requires more codes to deliver the changes in location and it is adding the value so development team will have to work on developing a new code for updating the file.

So, what are the ways to know /fetch the user location

Any help will be appreciated.
