Has anyone had success copying or downloading an Office 365 SharePoint Site manually without Site Collection Administrator permissions?  I'm engaged in a company split and source company does not want to provide Administrative privileges to SharePoint Environment for fear of data loss.  So we are forced to manually move the data by syncing each site to One Drive for Business, however, this will not provide lists, term store, and other essential data.  Is there another option?

I'm a MS Access developper who try to put my database backend to the cloud and link it to the frontend on my desktop. My client is a business which want to do that in order to access its data from everywhere (or at the very least from the company's intranet network).
I see blogs and I think the better solution is to use a Sharepoint site but I know nothing about Sharepoint nor to install it, configure it, etc.

1. Do you know if Sharepoint is the solution to my problem?
2. Do you know how can I get it?
3. Is there exist a better solution to access my backend with my MS Access frontend from the cloud?

I've created a new  site content type named TCA based on the "document set" content type.

Every time when I create a new document set TCA I would like to have this triggered.
Means, every time when a new item (document set) has been created it should put the name
of it in a dedicated list library TCA_List.

How can I manage this?


I need help in deciding path forward for our MS Access database.

Recently my old company was bought out by another and the new company changed the network topography. They removed network drives and went completely cloud base. We are using OneDrive platform. OneDrive does not support MS Access functionality at all. I cannot share our MS Access database with multiple users, because OneDrive replicates back-end for every user that links to it. so I needed to place back-end on every user’s computer. As result, I have several versions of the back-end and we do repeat inspections as result.

I am looking for a way to solve this problem, but also a good path forward with MS Access database, and I need your advice.

I have considered the following things:

1.      Use a virtual server to host our Access database
2.      Install MS Access 2010, change database to web apps and then host it on an older SharePoint server.
3.      Use an SQL server, and migrate MS Access back-end to SQL or AZURE and somehow link it to the front end. I read about this online, but not sure how much work will be involved.
4.      Completely redesign the database to SQL version or other version
5.      Leave as it is and deal with it.

The company is willing to pay for the hosting, but I am also looking at path forward and future of this database. Its quite developed and very useful for many personnel.

I need your expertise advice since you all know ins and outs of other databases.

After going to Central Administration Application Management Web Applications Manage Web Applications I created a New Web Application
That was successful

Then to Site Collections and created a new Site Collection   that also was successful

Next step is to make sure my Services are started

Service Applications Manage Service applications

My new
User Profile Service Application shows an is started.

But I do not see User Profile SYNC service listed.

So I ran this command  install-spservice

When I go to Services on Server I do not see the SYNC service or my User Profile Service.

Any ideas?

I have a SharePoint site which is running under SQL Server 2016 with Always On feature. SQL Server services stopped after a sudden power outage. I started SQL Server but I noticed that secondary replicas all databases are not synchronizing/recovery pending status.

How do I recover my SharePoint site. Please help. Screenshot has attached.

One user can't log into a Sharepoint 2010 site they are AD authenticated but when they try to sign they get a invalid credentials message. I have recreated the user in Sharepoint User administration no luck and double-checked their group assignments in AD and office 365 no issues.

How would troubleshoot this issue what logs would consult, any guidance is welcome?

We are upgrading from SharePoint 2010 to 2019 (on premises), and I need to test the web parts I have developed. When I try to recompile in Visual Studio 2019, I get the error:
The required version of SharePoint Foundation or SharePoint Server is not installed on this system. The target version of the SharePoint project is 2010.
I have then tried to change the target framework to 4.7.2, but that didn't help. Please tell me how to change the setup. Thank you so much in advance.

I have a sql database in which I have at table with users and their specific packaging request,
 f.e. User01, date, requestforfirefox  version 65, currentversioncompany is 60, topackage yes, status

The status can be new, packaging etc but also approved or not approved (f.e. Firefox 65 does not start)

Specifically the approved or not approved part,I d like to have a web interface, SharePoint(?)

So the Sharepoint(?) would show only the requests of the user. He could then click ok/nok and if not ok mention why not ok.
This would write in the table of the database.

How to approach.
Please advise.
Some of the columns on the List Web Part have column names like like ‘State’ and have options that are fixed
by the work flow. For instance ‘State’ can be New, Review, Authorize,
Scheduled, Implement, or Closed.

I think I have in the past the List items were created with
drop downs instead of free text so the options for
the ‘State’ Items would be one of the six listed above.

Have tried ‘Modify this View’  and
Site Contents > Change Requests > Settings
but no joy.

Is this a function List items can provide or am I just missing it?

One of our clients does not have a domain.  They are all workgroup machines off a local lan.   Currently all their file shares are shared out from O365's sharepoint.   Can someone tell me how to map folders from O365 to the local windows profile a user is working off of?   Also One Drive is setup and there are some files that were shared from one user to this local profile's One drive however the shared files cannot be seen.  

We have a user who is trying to open these files directly through Quickbooks and other applications but I am unsure how to point local apps to the sharepoint.  Is there a way to map them locally like a google drive?
I need a workaround for an Access database. We only have SharePoint and OneDrive as our sharing options and I would like to enable the database to be accessed by multiple users. We don't have the ability to build/ link in Azure or PowerApps. I know SharePoint has discontinued their Access web application, but still allows for the sharing of files, but I would like everyone to be able to access the database and make changes simultaneously. We are encountering an issue where everything is in Excel and one person has to wait until the document is locked until that person is done with it. Which is one of the reasons why I wanted to move to an Access database. Is it possible to split the database, put the back-end on the sharepoint and link the front-end/ share the front-end with multiple users so the tables are updated simultaneously?
I had this question after viewing O365 2016.

It looks like this solution is only available for O365 not office 2016? Just want to make sure. I have not found the build 1707 or above for office 2016.

Hi all, it's been awhile but I need some expert guidance here.

I am building a Workflow in SharePoint 2013. I am utilizing SharePoint Designer 2013 to accomplish this.

What I envision, I believe is pretty simple as workflows go, but I'm not sure.

1) I want to place a document in a library (Can that alone trigger the flow?)

2) After that happens, an email with the document attached goes out to 5 people simultaneously (Is that possible?)

3) The email has pre written instructions telling them to review the document and leave comments (How would they leave comments? Do I need to create a list form?)

And that is pretty much it.

Please, if anyone thinks they know how I should go about this, I ask that you not  be vague, but provide specific and copious directions. Many thanks in advance.

We are having an issues with both 'out of the box' workflows and SharePoint Designer (2010) workflows whereas after starting a workflow that includes a step to send an email, the email is not sent. This is sporadic and seems to have no rhyme or reason as to when it happens. It is failing at least %80 of the time. In the SharePoint Designer workflows, if a 1 minute pause is added to the workflow as the first action, after the pause duration the email will go out, %100 of the time.

All other email activity from SharePoint works fine. Notifications and alerts work fine. Workflows that are started via Information Management Policy work fine. It is also possible to send email via PowerShell to the exchange server (MS Exchange 2010) with a %100 success rate.

SharePoint is using Central Administration for the configuration of outgoing email, and no local instance of SMTP server is running on any SharePoint server. It has been confirmed that all SharePoint servers are allowed to send mail anonymously to our Exchange Server.

This issue started recently, after the SharePoint Security Update for Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2016 (KB4475594)  was deployed on 9/28/2019.

Does anyone have an idea about how to solve this issue?

I have an InfoPath form that has a start date and start time field created from SharePoint list.
I did not like the text box for the time field so I created 3 separate drop-down lists for hours, minutes and period..
Hoe do I concatenate the 3 fields  and have it save to the start time field when the form is submitted.
I  have sub-sites in SharePoint online that I don't want users to change, but they need to be able to edit lists on the sub-site front page.  I can't find the right combo of permissions, have tried breaking permissions.  If they can edit the list, then they are always also able to change the site page.  How can i allow Contributor users to be able to add/edit/delete list items but prevent them from modifying site pages?
how can i integrate excel with access? For example, We have a database file (.accdb) on a sharepoint, that I would like to pull data from into Excel systematically (call it once a day). I then want to use that data and run various analytics off of it/generate reports.
There is a user that we have that has an occurrence intermittently.  Basically, they are unable to save an updated file in SharePoint because it becomes all of a sudden it becomes read only and they are forced to save a second copy of the file.  This does not happen all the time, but it happens enough to cause an issue.  Typically they are using Microsoft Word when it happens.  Any issues as to why this happens?
