Mobile web development, also known as responsive web design, is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones). A site designed with RWD adapts the layout to the viewing environment by using fluid, proportion-based grids, flexible images, and CSS3 media queries.

I use Vimeo. I can embed on my mobile website, but when played it goes full screen. It does not go full screen on my desktop website. I would like the videos to play on the mobile page. The videos have been sized in the embed code to be width="167" height="94" . Can this be done with Vimeo.
I altered
<iframe src="//player.vimeo.com/video/114363559?autoplay=1&loop=1" width="167" height="94" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

to

<iframe src="//player.vimeo.com/video/114363559?autoplay=1&loop=1" width="167" height="94" frameborder="0"></iframe>

If Vimeo can't do this, I assume this can be done with YouTube and can I embed the video on my site without making it public? Also, with YouTube,, does this mean that the URL can be cut and pasted to go to the video?

Dumb question.  How does Skype identify if you on mobile device or non-mobile?  Does it consider a laptop a mobile device or only tablets and phones?  Anyone knows?
Thanks.

Our online reservation system redirects visitors with mobile devices to a dedicated version of the pages, which are (somewhat) optimized for mobile browsing.   However, there are some hybrid devices which may not be technically "mobile", but might still use touch screens.   Currently I'm using detect-smartphone.js to divert mobile visitors, and it is successful, except for devices such as Microsoft Surface.  I wonder if I should be using detect-touchpad.js instead, or in addition, or a different script... detect-smartphone.jsdetect-touchpad.js

I created a group contact/ distribution list in outlook.  I want it to sync with my mobile devices. Individual contacts sync with no problem. The group ones don't sync. I read exchange ActivSync does not support for group contacts. Is there any other way it can be accomplished?

We use rules in Outlook to move incoming mail to different folders. I have noticed that the mobile devices do not show a new mail notification for the messages that have been moved to folders. The folders do not sync mail until opened. I've spoken to O365 Support regarding this and am getting nowhere...

It seems like I've seen a setting before in OWA to tell it what folders to push to mobile devices but am not sure.

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Hi

I am looking at two methods for mobile devices to receive email on iOS/Android devices, especially taking into account the need for the mail to be up to date without the user necessarily opening the application into the foreground.

From what I can see, there are two main methods;

1. Native Exchange ActiveSync using Direct Push

2. Using a third party solution with APNS

My understanding of ActiveSync with Direct Push is that the mobile email application will maintain a long lives HTTPS connection to the proxy in the DMZ and then to Exchange. The timeout will be 15 mins, upon which a new session is created. So, from the perspective of the proxy in the DMZ, if there were 1000 users with mobile devices, that's about 1000 concurrent connections from their devices since with Direct Push there would be an almost constant connection. Is this correct?

With the second method, APNS, my understanding is that the third party software server within the company's network would send a  push notification to the mobile app via APNS. This would make the app 'wake up' and initiate a connection to Exchange via the proxy server to update the application. From a concurrency perspective, this should be much less since the connection is only when there is new email.

Am I thinking along the right lines here.

This should be a good one. No mobile phone can sign into Lync 2013. No Android, iPhone or iOS. There is no error code they just stay stuck at the signing in screen. Here is where it gets fun. Everything else works. Mac's, PC's, Tablets, iPads and everything in between, only mobile phones do not work now. I re-keyed wildcard cert and installed on the correct servers. Everything works including AD searches in Skype for Business Clients and Power Point presentations during a meeting.

I have an onsight premises Lync 2013 server setup. Lync 2013 Front End Server, and Edge server, a Web Apps Server, a ADFS server and a Office Web Apps server. All servers are on 2012 R2 I was on the phone with Microsoft (ugh) and they still can't figure it out. Do I have anyone out there that had this same issue?

When mobile device users (cell phone and tablets) come to the office, their devices can't connect to email server. We are using  Exchange on SBS2011 and the device connect either through remote.(domainname).com or mail.(domainname).com. I suspect it may be a DNS issue, but was hesitant to make DNS entries in the SBS2011 for remote.(domainname).com or mail.(domainname).com to point to itself unless I'm reasonably sure it won't break anything and would solve the problem. Thank you for your consideration.

I am looking for a little help in finding a tag-cloud/mind-mapping/annotation tool. So far, none of the ones I've found do all of what I need (however, together they cover all of my requirements). I was hoping someone here knows of a good single solution and can steer me in the right direction. (If no single solution is available, I'd be willing to bridge multiple solutions together, if api's were provided)

Note: After making this list, I realized that If an Evernote add-in tool exists which allows for the annotation of paragraphs/sentences/images in Word Documents (as well as websites) I could then integrate that through Mohiomap and get everything I need. So if you know of one, you can skip all of what I have written below.

Here is what I've found so far (there are three apps which together have all of what I want).
Axiom (a website solution with an optional chrome extension) .. it's ugly and not very user friendly but does allow for annotations to be made in Word, ppt, and pdf documents (surprisingly however, you can't annotate webpages)
Mohiomap (a website solution with an iOS option) .. It just pulls together your tags from several tag-clouds. Seems powerful however, for filtering, analyzing, and especially managing the tags themselves.
Diigo (web solution that also covers android and iOS) .. as with Mohiomap, it lacks support for the annotation of documents

The features I'm after are (* - indicates "must haves"):

1. *manage own tags

-- all 3 do this

2. *tag websites and/or bookmarks (page caching would be nice)

I'm just exploring my options. Which mobile app platform has the biggest market share? Is it Android, iOS, or something else? From an entrepreneurial perspective, which is more lucrative?

Thanks.

When I google "gamification header wordpress," I expected to come up with a  specific design. What does this mean? I had assumed it would be a layout design / template and I'm coming up with a  blank.

What does this client want? The spec is this: Please use the following five headers: Gamification, Mobility, Cloud, Big Data, Small Business.  Feel free to use the existing content on the blog.

What are they asking for?
