Mobile web development, also known as responsive web design, is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones). A site designed with RWD adapts the layout to the viewing environment by using fluid, proportion-based grids, flexible images, and CSS3 media queries.

We are creating an adaptive CSS layout for varying resolutions as well as web, mobile, tablets, etc.

I notice that when I load the page with my Display Scale and Layout at 100%, it loads as designed.

But if I change my Display Scale to a different size, such as 125%, it doesn't resize it to fit, instead it just makes it larger and throws things off the size of the page.

Is there something we're missing in our CSS that accounts for the Display Scale?

ASP.NET, VB.NET, CSS.

Thanks!

Setup a new DSL residential modem yesterday, and was getting 512Kbps down with 70ms and 0% dropped.  Connected 2 smart phones and still working great.  The 3rd phone is a LG V30, and when it connects the DSL drops 35%+ packets and has 3000ms latency.  As soon as I disconnect the wireless at that phone everything is fine again.  I can repeat this with 100% confidence.  On the LG V30, I installed Norton Mobile security and scanned the apps = No problems found.  The DSL is unusable for viewing websites or downloads while the LG V30 is connected.

What is the best way to determine the cause on the Android phone?  Do Android updates download automatically in the background when connected to WiFi?

Hi everybody.
I'm working on the back-end of an Android native mobile app. This app will be used to create items, send and accept requests from other user and so on.
I'm wondering how to manage the time zones with these requests. If a Japanese user sends a request to a Spanish user, both users will have to see in their app the correct date and time for their timezones and the date and time will be different...
How can I manage this issue in the back-end?
I guess I should save date and time with the server time-zone (just adding a column timestamp with default value set to NOW); then when data are requested, get the time-zone the request comes from, take the timestamp from the db and convert it to the target time zone.
But I'm not sure if this is the better way to solve the problem and how to do it.

Any help will be appreciated )

Hello,

I have a user who is using an iPhone X and is trying to connect to exchange via the apple mail app but keeps getting the error message "Cannot get mail the connection to the server failed."

I know the information is correct that I am entering to the exchange profile within the phone, I have test on an iPhone 8Plus and had no issue connecting to the mail box on multiple occasions. In the Exchange Admin Center for Exchange 2013 I only see a total of 3 devices under mobile devices, the users iPhone X, My phone and an iPad that is working fine, so I know I am below the ten device max connection.

I have disabled FaceID incase that was causing an issue with the passcode minimum, still unable to login.

The phone is using IOS 11.3.1
Exchange Server is Exchange 2013

How much re-sizing can you do with styles on things like tables, images, and other objects without interfering with their bootstrap properties.  In other words, if I want an image to be mobile responsive, can I re-size it with style="width:150px;" and still have it be a responsive image?

I am in a mobile phone contract and use more data than used to.  The data topups are not the best value so looking for advice on best UK 4G sim deals.  I have a spare phone so can use that as a hotspot in the car which will stop me going over my data allowance.  I would really appreciate suggestions and live in a big city so provider now really an issue for coverage.  I know there is lots on google and ebay buy never know if some of those offers are being misleading or not or based on agreeing to paying so much a month.  Ideally i’d pay for example £5 for a fixed amount of data with no further obligations.

Client is receivng duplicate emails on mobile. Need a way to sync calendar while having corporate email on mobile

We have a Pop/imap based corporate email account and we'd like to have email and calendar shared across multiple devices. So presently we have imap email forwarding to outlook.com which is attached to the phone and each pc. The iphone has both the email accounts.

Ultimate use case is we want to have both the corporate IMAP mailbox (provided by ISP) available for sending and receiving email, calendar/contacts available on mobile, desktop client.

https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync-outlook/syncing-outlook-with-an-android-smartphone/ is sort of the setup we have gone with.

We do have a prroject in place to implement Office 365 but need this working in the interim.

Does anyone know of an iphone email app that allows you to choose whether to sync only mail/ or mail+contacts/calenders from Outlook.com? Ideally we'd just select sync only calender/contacts from outlook.

I have a client with an office365 account with a single e-mail address 'user@hisdomain.com'.  This user does outside sales work for other companies that have their own e-mail systems and domain names, and they have created e-mail addresses for my client in their domains 'user@theirdomain1.com and user@theirdomain2.com'.
My client uses office365 OWA, Outlook and Outlook for Mobile to access email
We currently have forwarded 'user@theirdomain1.com to user@hisdomain.com'.  When my client receives an e-mail from 'user@theirdomain1.com' they want to be able to reply to the e-mail and change the 'from' address to 'user@theirdomain1.com'
How can I set this up in office 365 so they are able to change the 'from' address to the proper Domain for the reply to keep e-mail continuity?
Thank you

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016

Using default Samsung Contacts app with Outlook.

Syncs well.

However, does not show any alternate numbers.  For example, a single Outlook Contact can have 19 different numbers: Assistant, Business, Business 2, Business Fax, and so on.

Within the default Contacts app with the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016, it only uses two number fields: mobile & work Fax.

How can I set the app to show all the numbers that have values?

Need help on this.  Put me in a real bind last night when my boss was abroad.  Had his number listed as Business 2 and...it was no where to be found!

Help!

Sincerely,

OT

I'm trying to make a decision about which development environments to learn in order to extend the functionality of my MS Access app that has a MySQL database backend that usually sits on premise at my client locations.  I've been looking at Rapid Application Development platforms, but most are kind of pricy.   While these would allow mobile app development, I could also just connect my MySQL database to a responsive web design page via Apache and PHP for a decent desktop or mobile presentation as users will be company specific and accessing via VPN on a company network... usually.    What are the typical options/recommendations to interact with a MySQL database that would give an old MS Access/VBA developer a quick path to building web based data entry form solutions for an exiting database?  Are there any recommended tools out there I should be considering that are open source or low cost that would make the learning curve less steep?

hi there,

I'm considering to setup a simple wifi controlled door entry system. Currently i have a door which can be opened with a key, or you can be buzzed in via the intercom.

I'd like to include a switch to release the latch that's activated by pressing a button on a mobile app.

It could get more sophisticated, but that would be a start to cover the hardware side.

I'd need to install a wifi-connected unit that can trigger a 12V switch.

Any suggestions / ideas how to start?

Maybe something from here: http://netio.davideickhoff.de/en/

Thanks

I set out trying to find an android app that would allow me to add a previously called number to sales prospects from my phone easily. I downloaded the Base app here https://support.getbase.com/hc/en-us?return_to=%2Fhc%2Frequests but it doesn't seem to do this.

I know Base has a large following and I think it has free features. Do I need a different product or can Base do this?

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have an older contact form that was written using html table elements that I'm looking to re-code using CSS (specifically with the grid elements) so that it is responsive and mobile friendly.   Could someone help me out with the basic CSS / HTML frame work to accomplish the following?  I'd like the layout to be two columns in a larger display and one column in a mobile/smaller display, as follows:

Larger Display:
Field1 label   Field1 input      Field2 label  Field2 input
Field3 label   Field3 input      Field4 label  Field4 input
Field5 lable   Field5 input      Field6 label  Field6 input

                                 Submit (centered)

Medium Display:
Field1 label        Field2 label
Field1 input       Field2 input
Field3 label        Field4 label
Field3 input       Field4 input
Field5 label        Field6 label
Field5 input       Field6 input

         Submit (centered)

Small/Mobile Display
Field1 label Field1 input
Field2 label Field2 input
Field3 label Field3 input
Field4 label Field4 input
Field5 label Field5 input
Field6 label Field6 input

Submit (centered)

I have an Image with 3 logo's which is in a widget in my header.  I want the image to stay to the right of the header, whichever screen size.  At the moment it keeps moving to the left and keeps moving when you reduce the size of the browser.

I want it to stay to the right, above the menu, and then not show on mobile.
