The user has a current TiVo Bolt.  They have home videos that they have digitized, currently in .avi format.

They have a Synology NAS

Can they store their videos on the NAS, and play them back using their TiVo?

We have got to do some testing around storage of image and video files on our users stored on our users home drives on a windows file server. I have got a big inventory file of all file names, size, last accessed/modified/written etc, which includes file extensions. But there seems to be endless list of possible extensions now listed with video, audio and image files.

I only have to check a sample and so wondered what would you say are maybe the top 3-5 most common file extensions to be associated with image files & video files on windows based systems.  These files will go back literally 10 years so the more common extensions for such file types in 2009 may be much different to those in 2019 (or it may be similar).

I've asked dumb questions before so why not another. In creating a business card for the church the Facebook web address takes up to much space so the pastor wants to replace that with just the Facebook logo. The card template has a image space on the right and text lines on the left.

Since a logo (image) can not be converted to a letter(s) (??) I only see two choices:

a. Take the photo of the church and add the FB logo to the bottom of the photo of the church.
b. There is an extra text line under the photo so I could just enter "see (or join) us on Facebook, and not use the FB logo.

Any other options? Thanks.

I am looking for a Video Editor that runs on Windows 10. The specific function I want to performs to open an existing video and cut out perhaps 10 "clips", saving eact cut out clip as a separate video file. The input file is mp4.

I acquired Windows Video Editor 2019. I can kind of get the gist of how to define a clip, it's excruciatingly hard. Then, you get it defined & click OK, it disappears. I am trying to work wth their tech support, does not look good.

My background is long & extensive in programming, systems development, databases, etc. I have limited graphics experience, I use Paint Shop Pro for graphcs.

My question is two fold: (1) Anyone out there in the EE community who knows Windows Video Editor 2019 & can help with that?

Recommendation(s) as to a VERY SIMPLE to learn & intuitive video editing package not too expensive.

Thanks

The image shows a word that we need for a church business card as well as a logo on the weekly bulletins. It's the word Celebration for English and Celebracion for the Hispanics.

Someone had the idea to put the T on top of the C and also change the T to a cross. So far the efforts have been in black fonts.

I suggested that most crosses from the days of Jesus were made of wood and thus the cross could be a brown color. They have played around with moving the cross (which is actually the T in celebration) to the left or right to somehow not distort the C.

In my opinion there will be enough other text on the card in Spanish and if the Spanish version of celebration is celebracion then any one viewing the card will know what celebration means. But I do not make the decisions.

So looking for more brain power on how to combine celebration and celebracion? Using colors, fonts, etc.

I'm designing the card and if we can get that word to the liking of the higher ups in the church then I will have to make the word be a photo so I can upload the photo (which will be nothing but the word) and drag that to the proper place on the card. The templates and editing do not offer a T on top of a C. Thanks.

My Youtube Video has duplicated itself, from 9 minutes to 18, running the same content TWICE. How do I fix this?

We are currently developing a social media platform that will be heavily relying on video content. On our initial beta version we hosted these in Amazon S3 but some of these were accessed so much that our monthly bandwith really jacked up the cost. Do you have any experience on other video hosting solutions that can be more cost-controlled or at least being able to forecast the cost progression? We will be managing these videos ourselves and want them only accessible through the platform, no external branding or ads.

I'm looking for video editing software. I have never done video editing, but I have a need now.

I am familiar with graphics software (other than photoshop) & I have over 20 years of experience in working with the internet developing web sites & applications. I am fluent in php, MySQL, HTML, Javascript and OK in CSS & Jquery.

I need something for Windows 10, prefer under $100 & easy to learn & use.

My initial need is to edit a 15 minute or so mp4 video down to maybe 2 or 3 minutes, mostly by eliminating a number of clips & shortening some others. Also probably resizing so we can include it on a website.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

MP3 cutter opens the correct folder but when that folder is opened it shows as empty when it is not empty.
The red shows the video is in the MP3 folder.

I have large building that is really 3 old building tied together.  Wiring from one building to another is difficult, not impossible, but very difficult.
The goal is to have the background music in all building playing the same thing (from one source).   Currently there are speakers in each building and each "building's speakers" go to an old stereo tuner of some sort amplifying the signal.

We have a "Music on Hold" device that allows music and "ads" to be loaded onto a USB and this device has a simply RCA Out jack that feeds into one of the tuners.
We have standard 14ga SPEAKER WIRE running from the center-most tuner to the other 2 tuners.  If looking at the attached PDF, we have speaker wire running from A to B, and from A to C.
If that wire can be used to connect them together that would be AWESOME.  If I need to run a different kind of wire because of new equipment needed, so be it.
I have attached a rough diagram that hopefully will make clearer my situation.

My question is what device(s) can I get to make all these speakers play from one source?   Either new amplifiers, or something that could go from an output of one amplifier to an input of another.   AND.... of course I'm trying to do this as inexpensively as possible.
Thans for any help.AudioDiagram.pdf

I am running Windows 10.  I am not an audiophile, but I need to combine and do minor editing with a variety of audio clips.   I don't mind paying for a program that will let me import a few audible files and put them end-to-end and then save it as a new file.  What is the best bet?

Thanks,

Phil

I'm having a problem with the audio output on my Windows 10 system, which is signified by the following message: "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." But it's a little more complicated than that.

I'm leasing a "high-end" computer from Blade, on which I'm running a couple of games. I'm new to cloud-based gaming, so I'll let them explain it…

Shadow is a high-end streaming service for games. What does this mean? Any game you can play on a Windows 10 computer, you can play on Shadow using virtually any device you want! Turn a laptop, Mac, smartphone, tablet or even a 5-year-old PC into a high-end gaming rig through the Shadow app. Then, all you have to do is download your current game library to your Shadow account and start playing all your favorite PC games on max settings! We provides all of the power you'd get from a gaming computer at a fraction of the cost with none of the maintenance!. Our data centers are upgraded with every new generation of technology at no additional cost to you!

I can connect to my Shadow server in either of two ways: There is a client that runs as a Windows desktop application. Alternatively, there's a physical appliance that Blade has named "Ghost." The Ghost  connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi, and includes several USB ports (both USB2 and USB3) as well as an Ethernet port, an HDMI port and a headphone jack. When I'm accessing the cloud server (i.e., the Shadow) from the Windows desktop application, everything works fine.…

I am running Windows 10 on my laptop.  I recently received some high definition *.MOV files, which I need to combine and play on a Blu Ray device (through the USB input).  None of the Blu Rays I've tried can read the *.MOV files, though they play fine on my computer.   What is the best program for converting the *.MOV files to a comparably high quality format that can be read by a Blu Ray USB input?  I tried converting with my Cyberlink Power Director software, but the outcome (depending on the format I try to use) results in either a video that works without audio, or audio that works without video, but I can't get it converted to a workable MP4 format that provides both.  Please advise.

Thanks,

Phil

Dear Experts,

I have been asked to automate a video stream starting after a PC crashes.  I can put the VLC media player and OBS Studio with pre-configured parameters in Startup Menu, but the only sticking point is, there is a button that says "Start Streaming" that needs to be pushed.  After researching a bit, I found an AutoMouseClicker, which can run a script to replay the mouse movement and clicking.  But I cannot start that automatically.  It requires someone to initiate a script.  How can I a accomplish this?  I feel like I am one step away from accomplishing this.
Please advise.

Hi,
I am looking for tools to record screen along with audio. I tried screenflick.
IT worked very well. Only thing is that it places an icon in between the video unless you get a paid version.
Is there any alternative to it. which provides this kind of service for free ?

Thanks

My camera is currently set at 1080i/59.94. I have the ability to change it to 720p and 50 fps. I understand the difference between 1080 and 720 is 1920x1080 vs. 1280x720. I suspect that using 720 instead of 1080 might allow my processor to be slightly less utilized because I currently am downscaling from 1080 to 720 to stream to Facebook. Is there any advantage in that situation to using 50 instead of. 59.94?

My recorder is not working when I’m conference in GotoMeeting, Zoom, Skype, etc.  I have checked the sound configuration and there is a recording tab and the device is enabled and says working fine.  How can I troubleshoot to assure that my microphone is working fine for my next conference?

Folks at work handed me a DVD that’s scratched to try to get a small video file from.

I used unstoppable copier to supposedly get the file off from the DVD, but am not able to get the AVI file to play; well, it plays but see no video.

There’s a program on the DVD called VerintVideoSolutionsCodecs, and I am not able to play the file with VLC.

I’m not sure if there’s a way to tell if the video file is just corrupt considering it came from a somewhat scratched DVD, or is there some codec that I need to have to play the file.
I’ve attached the file>

I am running Windows 10.  I was sent a Google-Docs video that after downloading can't play on my computer.  It's 5.9 GB in *.MOV format.   I tried using Cyberlink Power Director to run and resave it as an MP4, but got the following error:

Cyberlink Error
I tried using NERO Recode, but it couldn't load it either.

When I tried to play it on my computer I got the following error:

Codec Error
When I try to copy it to a flash drive I get a message that the file is too large for the drive's format.

Any thoughts on what I can do to download a functional version of the video?

Thanks,

Phil

Currently I am using the built-in Windows 10 CAMERA
app to save 8+ hours of low resolution MP4 video

What software (VLC, etc) do you recommend so it can
fast forward to only the MOTION parts so I do NOT
have to manually watch all 8+ hours of the video ?
