Came across this on Wired today:
I highly recommend following the "Watch" link within; it leads to a video on YouTube of one of the researchers from Stanford editing a video of George W. Bush to insert new facial and speech expression in real time using an off-the-shelf webcam.

Yep... We're going to need entirely new techniques for determining and maintaining authenticity for things like this. Hey, maybe that can be one of those uses for quantum computing somehow... I'm also thinking blockchain solutions too (even though I really have a pretty weak grasp on blockchain, it does seem like a primary purpose is to help with data integrity.)

Photoshop brought about many similar problems for photography and all sorts of techniques have had to be created to detect when things are doctored.

But really, it's most important to always have a healthy level of skepticism... Even without any sort of editing of a photograph, it's easy to bend the truth just by what you choose to show in the frame!

This technology is scary, but it's coming whether we like it or not.

I'm looking for a CDN that's free or affordable for videos like YouTube. However, I don't want to use YouTube for other reasons. I would like to upload videos, and once they're uploaded have them playable onto a website. Any recommendations?
We have a series of audios of conferences and have categorized them by presenter.  Since windows folder displays audio with 'Contributing Artist, Title, Album, etc.', we want to place the real authors of each audio.  We  can do this one by one, but looking for way to change 15 audios authors with one name (and do the same with the rest of audios we have).  How can we go about it?
I have a site made on WordPress. I have inserted a video from the media gallery. The only issue is that it's a standard player and cannot edit controls or anything else. I have tried plugins but none cater my needs. Any suggestion on how to manipulate the code and make the video appear the way I want? For instance no controls and there's a black header and footer I wish to remove. Thanks for any suggestions.
I have some old movie clips in .mpg format.   In what format can I put these on a flash drive so a presenter can show them.  She'd have to be able to fast forward/backward for review and go from file to file easily.

Anyone use it?
Suddenly ours won't open. Coincidence that it won't open while the pc has other symptoms.
If you have the free version is there an expiration date on the free version? I do not see anything about expiration in any of the comments posted on CNET.
I used Movie Captioner to export a .scc file to add to a DVD project in Encore. I've attached a screen shot of the properties data once I've done this. After I build and burn the DVD I test it in iDVD Player with the captions on and they do not show.  Anyone know why?
I'm curious as to why some artists post on VEVO versus YouTube.
Musical artists in particular.
Dear Experts,
In Lightworks version 12 when I wanted to change the volume level of an audio track I could see a yellow horizontal line on the audio track.  If I right clicked on it I could create a node.  Raising or lowering this node would change the volume level.

I am not being forced to use Lightworks 14 and the yellow line is now light green.  I don't seem to have the ability to create nodes by right-clicking any more.

How do I restore this feature?
Best Wishes,

I have some audio from a radio talk show. my intention is that it's not high fidelity / could even be mono.  I want to get the smallest file size without too much degredation considering it's just people talking.

I am using streaming audio recorder and chose MP3 for the output.

For example, 1 file I have is 2meg and 1 min 30 seconds.  the properties of the file says bitrate 173 bps.  Not sure if that's high / low fidelity.

I'd like to have the smallest size file for audio.... and also, using audio to video converter websites, I get an mp4 that's 2MB also (static picture or black screen would be fine).

What are some things I should know / do to get the smallest files for spoken word audio?

EE Experts,

I have become obsessed lately with Windows Media Center (WMC). I have over 2,000 titles recorded over the last 3 years. Microsoft discontinued support for WMC some time ago. I started using WMC before Microsoft dropped support of Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Some of my titles have metadata, and some do not. I am ignorant of how or what determines which titles get metadata and which ones do not. My primary goal for now is to be able to load Synopsis data. So as I continue to capture titles (USB hard drives are amazingly cheap extra storage space), I can include a synopsis of my own creation that I can search on to find the exact title that I am looking for without having to watch each video to discover if it the one I am looking for or not.

I just made a Google search that linked me to a Microsoft document titled Windows Media Center Guide Listings Format. In the summary for this document, the first sentence is "This document describes how to import program data into the Electronic Program Guide data store for Windows Media Center on a Windows 7 computer." The Introduction says "This document describes how to use LoadMXF.exe ..."

My question is does this document contain the information that I need to accomplish the goal that I described above? I'm I barking up the right tree or should I be looking someplace else?

any mpeg to mp4 conversion free tools?

I have a paid website on Zenfolio that I use to host and backup my extensive library of personal photos (and now videos).  I have been using this site for many years for my photos, but recently started to upload my videos.  The challenge is that for the plan I use Zenfolio imposes a limit on videos of 20 minutes in length.  I have 50+ videos that are longer than this limit.  Many of these are in AVI or MTS formats.

I have multiple s/w options for my Windows 7 74 bit PC that I can use to split the videos into shorter segments.  These include iWisoft Free Video Converter, Handbrake, Cyberlink Power Director 10, and Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12.  These apps also let me change the format to mp4, for instance.  I also have Windows Movie Maker 2012 - but have very limited experience using it.

The problem is that when I go to rip the shorter clips these s/w apps re-render the video.  This ends up taking a long time - often an hour or more for one 20 minute clip.  I am looking for advice on a quicker, easier solution.

Ideally, there would be s/w out there that lets me load a one hour AVI file.  I would then select two places to split the file into three AVI segments that are just under 20 minutes each.  The software would create the three segments w/o re-rendering the video.  The output would be File_1.avi, File_2.avi and File_3.avi.  Hopefully all three files would be created in 10 minutes or less, as opposed to hours.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this?  I …

I am trying to figure out how this Sound Player works.
Raw Files for Sound Manager 2 - angular

I can get this working fine on my server, but I'm new to Angular and need some help getting something to work.

First load this example:
working example

You'll see that this has a list of songs that you must "add" to the player for it to play.

What I'm looking to do is get rid of the "song list" on the top of this page and instead pass a song ID through a query string to have that song play.

So for example, I would send: and it would then play the "rain" song which has ID of one.
I would also like this to "auto-play" upon load. So the progress bar and buttons would appropriately reflect that it was playing.

In summary. I want to do two things:

1) Be able to pass the sound I want to play via a query string.
2) Be able to have that sound autoplay upon load.

I was taking a video and the phone rebooted and now I see this file how can I see the video ?

This video is of my cat climbing the Christmas tree, an annual tradition in my home prior to the decoration process.  We snuggled up next to him in the video to get screen captures for later, as he struggled valiantly to climb to the very top.  Losing this wonderful video will be a very sad beginning to the joyous holiday season.
Hello experts,

I have purchased a Raspberry Pi No IR Camera and streamed it on my home network using vlc media streaming.

What I want to do now is, stream the feed of the pi camera without using vlc or any third party software, generate a link for the feed and host the link on my shared hosting space on cloud such that, when I access the dns of my server space, I get to watch the live stream from the pi camera in case the pi is on, otherwise, show something like "camera feed turned off".

Please explain how to achieve this.

Thanks in advance..
Hi, I have to provide a training course made up of .mp4 video files to students in a secure format. By "secure format", I mean in a way that they cannot play them on any video player - other than the one that I'm providing to them for the course. (Its a custom application with a video player).

So, I provide my students the custom video player App and then I would like them to play the courseware videos on that custom player App.

My question is - how can I prevent them from viewing the .mp4 files on any other player? Is there a way for me to prevent them from using QuickTime or Windows Media Player?

Is there a way for me to use some custom or special sort of codec, so that my video files play ONLY on my custom video player?

Thank you for your help!

Within the next week or so, I need to setup a streaming video server to broadcast live video and audio to potentially thousands of viewers. I will only need to do this once. I will need to stream for about 1 to 2 hours. Can someone tell me my best, cost effective way to do this ?
I remember the songs that were burnt into my CD (though I can't recall
what software I used to do the burning) were all previously MP3 files
(*.mp3) & my car's player indicated "MP3" too.

The car's player broke down & I replaced with one that only takes in
microSD & USB: I want back the mp3 files but when I used Win Explorer
to view the CD, it can't view the CD.

How can I extract them out to transfer to a microSD / thumb drive?
Let me know any freeware needed.

This CD is still good because when I insert into my home CD player,
it plays
