I have clients that use dual uplinks for their customer sites
The second uplink, generally via LTE, serves as a backup access

The problem is that both uplinks obviously have their own public IP addresses

Therefore when in backup mode the site has to be reached via a different IP address

What alternative solutions/options exist that would allow us to present a single address to the outside world whether we are in normal or backup mode ?

I'm helping a friend who has a Dell 2155cn network printer, which he uses for his Windows 7 laptop and Windows 10 desktop. While the device prints just fine on both machines via the network, I am having a devil of a time getting it to scan to the Windows 10 machine. The printer is connected to a wireless access point, as it is not wireless itself, and it sits in the garage.

This scanner is set up to scan to a shared folder, typically named "Scans", and placed just inside the C drive (C:/Scans). The scanner is typically set up using the internal web server page inside the printer, a link of which I enclose below. I have consulted the manual extensively, and set up the scanner "Address Book" page on the internal web server page for Windows 10 machine in the exact same fashion as the Windows 7 machine, being careful to use the proper settings, such as the user name, password and server (computer) IP address. However, I just cannot get the scanner to scan... it keeps producing a variety of "031-XXX" messages (link enclosed below), such as "Cannot find SMB server" or the like. I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall, re-downloading and installing the Windows 10 drivers, power-cycled the router, wireless access point, printer and computer, all to no avail.

I am completely out of ideas, and I am hoping one of you wise wizards can help. Here are some links to both the network scanner set up and error message page.

I am working with a Brother MFC-9120 CN
I want to connect the printer to the home network wirelessly. The printer only connects to the home network.
I noticed in the manual it talks about using a bridge I think there was a USB device that came with the printer. No one knows or can locate that USB.

The printer does have a USB port. I read somewhere that I can buy a dongle insert the dongle in the USB port and it should connect to the network.

Any comments?

I have a ASA 5505 firewall with the 8.3 / later version, I have a Server connected to the internal interface 0/1 of the firewall but when the Server connects to an external network outside of my firewall the outside firewall needs to see the traffic coming from a specific IP. So my question is that can I hide my servers internal IP address under another IP address through NAT or something.  As an example My ASA 0/0 has an IP address 10.x.x.4 with mask and my ASA 0/1 interface has an IP Address of with mask and my server has an IP address of with mask Now my server is connected to the 0/1 of my asa firewall using a unmanaged switch. and the external interface of the firewall 0/1 is connected to another firewall ZZZ with IP 10.x.x.3.  Now this firewall ZZZ will allow the traffic from the Server only if the traffic comes from 10.x.x.5 with mask .. Can this be done using a NAT in firewall?
Dear Wizards, we are setting a iRedmail Server (Ubuntu v16) and would like to synchronize all mail accounts to an AD server (Window Server 2008R2)

For example: similar to an Exchange Server, when we create a new mail user, it will automatically create an user in AD server

Is there any way to do it? Can you please give me some resources? Many thanks!
Peplink Balance One router/ap unit reporting latency issues with wired/hard wired network devices.  need to perform direct to the cable modem first but I like to have access and documentation later for if and when I have to troubleshoot this unit.   The site seems to be lacking a manual nor is as easy as reaching the gateway IP to access the GUI.

Anyone familiar with access to this unit?  Does anyone spot the manual?  I sent a troubleshooting ticket a month ago to Peplink and they have yet to respond.  They don't even have one phone number on their site anywhere.
I'm trying to setup another SSID on a Cisco 2504 WLC. I've mirrored (I believe) the settings of an already existing SSID/network with the difference of subnet, etc. The traffic is routed through a Cisco 2811 and various switches. The switch that identifies the VLANs, has also been configured accordingly. Could be problems in multiple places since I've done this a number of times, but never came across this issue.

To start, I can't ping the interface IP of that newly created SSID from any device, including the switch that the controller is connected to.

I figure if I can get to the interface IP (as usual), I'll be able to get to my DHCP server, get an address, and get to the internet.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have just tried to run my application with SQl Server back end on a different machine with a different network, now I'm getting the error attached .I'm not too sure what it is I asked the IT Manager he assured me that he installed the correct ODBC drivers. Could it be the code below not correctly done:

I work for a school district and have three buildings each with roughly 300 computers.  We have two buildings in one network (ip scope) and the third in its own network.  We are thinking about closing the one school building and moving the 300 computers and users to the other campus of two building.  I am concerned about having so many devices on one broadcast domain.  Would one network with 1,000 devices be a bad idea in terms of traffic?
mapping windows network drive on mac running sierra ver. 10.12.6
here is the issue.  i can get the folders mapped and can view them.  after say 10 minutes or so I lose connection to the folders but can still open the share but the folder i just had access to has the red circle.  i can use the command k and connect, put in my credentials and it works.  then i lose connection again.
once i lose connection i open parallels windows 10 and can see the folders from there so i don't think it could be a physical network connection.  
another strange thing is i have another folder on another share on the same server i can access
Our LAN uses 192.168.1.x IP addresses.  One of our vendors has just required us to connect to their VPN, then RDP to one of their computers to conduct business.  Their network also uses 192.168.1.x IP addresses.  Our network is small, so the effects have been minimal, but only by luck it would seem.  Sometimes we are forced to re-login to our own file server, and this is cumbersome and inconvenient.  How can we adjust settings on our end to minimize/eliminate IP address conflicts?  Our networking equipment is SOHO.  One perhaps obvious solution would to change our entire subnet internally, but that just doesn't seem like the best way to proceed.  Advice please?
I have two WLANs at my site.  These are controlled by a Cisco WLC.  I am able to connect to the one of the WLANS and access the internet with no problem, but with the other WLAN, I can only connect, but am unable to get to the internet.  But if the Access Point is sitting in my office, I can connect and get internet access. This seems strange to me because the AP serves both WLANs.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled my network adapters.  I can ping both WLANs, but I can only connect to one of them and get internet access.  This is happening to no one else.  I figured it had something to do with my computer, but then I got another laptop put it in my office and it did the same thing.  What could be causing this?

macOS 10.13.6 will not automatically connect to LAN at startup

macOS 10.13.6 (updated yesterday from 10.13.4) does not connect to local network at startup. And stopped connecting before OS update.

Connecting to LAN using System Preferences/Network and exiting with ‘Automatically join this network’ enabled (clicked) but is not enabled at subsequent shutdown/logins.

Other Mac (10.13.6) on same network automatically connects as do several iOS devices.

All devices are wirelessly connected. with Airport Extreme. Seems this issue began around the time of addition of 2 HomePods to network.
We lost power for several hours yesterday and since bringing everything back up I am having issues accessing Exchange 2010 email from outside the network.  When on the LAN we can send and receive email both to internal and external users.  However if I go to external network and try to access my email either using the email client on my iphone or through OWA it gives a generic cannot connect message.  I ran the test and it is giving me the following errors.

Testing TCP port 443 on host to ensure it's listening and open.
       The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
Testing TCP port 80 on host to ensure it's listening and open.
       The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
Attempting to locate SRV record in DNS.
       The Autodiscover SRV record wasn't found in DNS.

I checked the firewall and port 443 and 80 show they both show ok.

to setup new office what IP addressing is recommended as it is common to use but I would like to go for something different and this network will have to be get connected over the VPN from other location and they may be using,  this new network yet to be setup will have internal dns and dhcp and leased line and mpls connectivity. the total users or end devices within this network will not be more than 75, I prefer other than is there a recommend/best  practice in selecting a particular ip addressing for private lan network please suggest,  is it good to go with or something like or any other ip addressing recommended please suggest.

For people to get in contact with us, they usually request a Skype ID.

We would like to change this as it does not look professional.

How do we change the Skype Name/ID for our Skype account?

We are aware we can change the display name for the account but the Skype ID is needed for people to search for our company on Skype.

I have a potentially stupid question.

I have only worked with Cisco ASA 5505 appliances and SG/SF 300  series Cisco switches.  Recently I picked up a Catalyst 3560CX 8 TC model switch, and have been having nothing but trouble trying to configure it.

On my bench I was able to assign ports 1-8 a basic 'switch' management IP of  Seemed to work fine.  The PC I plugged into port 1 had no issues pinging it, connecting to it, allowing me to configure it.

I then took the unit onsite and plugged port 1 into a Cisco SG300 series switch.
The port light on the C3560CX went green, switched immediately to amber, and stayed solid amber.  The switch port on the SG300 went dead as though nothing was connected.  I disconnected the cable but the C3560CX still showed a solid amber light for that port.  Just for fun I plugged the cable into port 3.  Exactly the same outcome.

I checked the port on the SG300.  I ensured it was set to Trunk.  I turned off Auto SmartPort for the SG300 interface (GE30).  No change.  
Rebooted C3560CX and waited the 5 minutes for it to come backup - did exactly the same thing = dead amber port.

I disconnected the C3560CX, moved it to a PC, static assigned an IP to the PC, and hooked it up a switch port.  Now I can ping no problem. I can log into the web console no problem.  Everything seems fine.

Everything is VLAN1 - default.  Ports set to trunk.  

Hook it back up to the network by uplinking to SG300 - dead port.

is it possible to track every item that is copied off the network or computer to an external device?
I have a hyper V machine that I cannot login to. It says the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed. I do not know the local admin password or if its even enabled. What can I do??
Anyone knows Aruba controllers well?   They normally pass through the same VLAN on the main switch, or the management VLAN.
Wonder why Aruba not recommending doing a direct heartbeat between Active and Passive controllers.  Using 7030 controllers at this point.
Normally I do a direct heartbeat between Cisco controllers.  But Cisco has a dedicated HA port for this.  Arubas not.  7030 controllers have 8 fiber and 8 copper ports.
 Anyone knows about it and have an advice?
My main domain controller is taking hours to boot. Im pretty sure it will boot up eventually because it has done this once before. We all work on another server via Remote Desktop Services. While the main DC is down we cannot login to the remote desktop server because there are no logon servers available. Is there a way I can temporarily point the Remote Desktop Server to see the secondary DC for authentication?

I know this is a long shot, but I figured id ask.
Hey, guys, super easy question for most of you, but believe it or not .. I do not know the answer to this .. actually .. i sorta do, but I feel like I am missing something.

 We have a Windows Server 2008 R2. On this server, I want to setup for myself and my plant manager to be able to access the Shared Company Folder outside of the Network of the Factory Site.

 We can all access the Shared Drive as long as we're plugged in or connected to the on site Network .. however .. I need to be able to have access to the Shared Drive on this server outside of that Network.
We both are using Windows 10 Home Edition - is there a way for me to be able to access the Shared Drive without having to use something like Cloud-Berry Remote Assistant or Team Viewer.

I know he wasn't using an SFTP server.

I understand you can map the drive onsite and have it sitting in File Explorer where you can see it and access it, but some how he had setup where he would just click that Shared Folder like a drive and access it even off site.
As an Admin, there is a need to track the jobs that are being sent to a specific Network Printer, to be specific a LaserJet Pro M203dw.
Is there software that will allow me to find out when a job is being sent to the printer and by who on the network?

I have one window user (Win10) that joined domain, so normally they will have no permission to make any changes on local computer, so i want to give permission on that domain user to be able only install any software on their computer but every strict permission keep as original, how to do that?
