NetWare is a computer network operating system developed by Novell, Inc. It initially used cooperative multitasking to run various services on a personal computer, using the Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) network protocol. It is hardware-independent, running on any suitable Intel-based PC compatible system, and a wide range of network cards. Products inclue NetWare Directory Services (NDS), a global directory service similar to Microsoft's Active Directory; GroupWise, an email system; ZENworks, an application configuration suite; and BorderManager, a security product. Open Enterprise Server, the current iteration, runs on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

Ok here's my quandary.  The other day one of my staff noticed extremely high usage on our netware administrative account and  disable it to stop the transactions.  After doing that his workstation crashed, now I have no way to re-enable the account and thereby have no way to do anything in directory services.  Has anyone there have any idea how I can re-enable the account?  So far I've had no luck.   I'm hoping someone has an idea.

Thanks

I am trying to install the SNMP server on SLES 12 via YAST and it's prompting me for a SLES 11 SP1 disk. I am trying to install it on our Novell GWIA server for Solarwinds monitoring? Any thoughts on how I can get this going? I'm trying to search for the SLES 11 SP1 disk, but unsure why it needs it if I'm on SLES 12?

Hello,

we are running a Groupwise 2014 R2 SP1 Server. To restrict the mail traffic we are using class of service in the GWIA.
For example:
No external mail recipients are allowed except to company1.com.

These is working fine if the user is using a Groupwise mail client.

We also use for example Thunderbird or other mail clients to connect to the Groupwise Server (via IMAP and SMTP).
Here I found out that the restriction in my example above is not working.

Are the class of service not working if you are using an mail client that is connected via IMAP and SMTP?

Best regards,
Christian

I am running Groupwise 2014 on a virtual Suse Linux server.  I ran out of space on my drive that contains my PO.  I added 10GB via the vm vcenter.  And I can see that I have that space available.  But when I try to resize through the Expert Partitioner it gives an error: Resize not support by underlying device.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Running an old old version of NetWare.  We got it sometime in 1995 or 1996.  Went to boot the server and it loads as normal up to a point that then I get the following on the screen:

Mounting Volume SYS
Mirror copies of the volume directory don't match
Volume SYS NOT mounted

I then get a prompt that says "file server name:" followed by a flashing cursor.  Nobody is able connect to the server.

Normally the server will completely boot, autostart the backup software and then people can log in to the server via some old clients we have.

I opened the server case and there is only one hard drive, so there can be no RAID 1 Mirror drive configuration.  Also, as the server is booting as far as it is I know the system is detecting and reading information off the hard drive.

As you can probably tell, I know nothing about Netware.  We have some fairly critical data on this server and I am unsure of the reliability of the backups.  Is this something fairly easy to fix or is it best left to a Netware guru?
