Trying to resolve an issue with a  program that cannot email some of our users.

I found this:  "How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Office 365"
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/Exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-office-3?redirectSourcePath=%252fen-us%252farticle%252fhow-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4

 It says to use scenario #2 when "You only need to send messages to recipients in your own organization who have mailboxes in Office 365; you don't need to send email to people outside of your organization."

Is this limitation referring to the application sending the email or to all applications like Outlook?

We do not have any Exchange servers in house.  All email is hosted with Microsoft Exchange Online/Office 365

Thanks,
cja

Hi,

I am in the process of changing user UPNs to their primary SMTP attribute but have encountered a UPN Suffix routing issue on one of the forests. Details are:

Forest A:
DNS - ResourceA.Internal
Name Suffix Routing:
AccountB.Internal - *accountB.internal
AccountB.Internal - *accountB.com
AccountC.Internal - *accountC.internal
AccountC.Internal - *accountC.com

Forest B
DNS - AccountB.Internal
Alt UPN Suffix - AccountB.com

Forest C
DNS - AccountC.local
Alt UPN Suffix - AccountC.com

Trust Relation Ships
ResourceA.Internal <==> AccountB.Internal (Two-way - Forest - Transitive)
ResourceA.Internal ==> AccountC.Internal (One-way - Forest - Transitive)

ResourceA.Internal contains Mailboxes with disabled accounts and Servers
AccountB.Internal and AccountC.Internal contain user accounts linked to Mailboxes in ResourceA.Internal

AccountB.Internal behaviour:
I am able to access Mailboxes (via OWA) and RDP to servers with Domain\User and UPN.

Accountc.Internal behaviour:
I am able to access Mailboxes (via OWA) and RDP to servers with Domain\User only not UPN.

I have checked firewall ports and the following are open:
135/TCP      RPC Endpoint Mapper
464/TCP/UDP      Kerberos password change
49152-65535/TCP      RPC for LSA, SAM, Netlogon (*)
389/TCP/UDP      LDAP

Need help with getting syntax to work... this works without "Line 6", where I'm clearing out all SIP entries from the proxyaddresses array before setting the next line.  Is this a syntax issue, or would I need to use in a separate function?

        Set-ADUser -Identity $User `
        -UserPrincipalName $SmtpAddres `
        -EmailAddress $SmtpAddress `
        -clear msRTCSIP-PrimaryHomeServer `
        -replace @{'msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress'="SIP:$SmtpAddress";'msRTCSIP-UserEnabled'=$true"} `
        &{Get-ADUser $User -pr proxyaddresses | select -ExpandProperty proxyaddresses |? {$_ -cmatch '^SIP'}} | % {Set-ADUser -Identity $User -Remove @{proxyaddresses="$($_)"}}  `
        -Add @{proxyAddresses="SIP:$SmtpAddress"}

Greetings,

I have a law firm client that is running on an On Premise Exchange 2013 system,  The host that the Exchange 2013 server is running on is a Windows 2012 R2 Standard  system.  The Exchange setup is a single-server system, where the CAS and Mailbox servers are installed and operating on the same physical host.  The Exchange version is Version 15.0 ‎(Build 1156.6)‎.

The issue we're actually having is on the front-end SMTP anti-spam server, which is a product called Interchange, made by LAN-ACES.  Incoming SMTP connections come into the Interchange server, and received emails are then relayed into the Exchange server and delivered to recipient mailboxes.  On the outbound side, mail from the Exchange server is relayed out through the Interchange server.  About 3 or 4 days ago, my client said that some contacts that were formerly regularly sending him emails without issue were now unable to send to him.  The contacts having issues are all Office 365 users.  When I reviewed the activity logs that detail the dialog between the Office 365 sending servers and the Interchange server, I saw the following:

Incoming connections from Office 365 servers that were within the 104.47.0.0 ip addressing subnet failed with the following conversation:

Connection from 104.47.56.59 port 25
SMTP -> 220 mail.mycompany.com ESMTP ready
SMTP <- EHLO NAM04-BN3-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com
SMTP->250-OK, hello NAM04-BN3-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com
SMTP <- 250-8BITMIME…

Is anyone by chance have any background with E Automate?  One of my users is getting a MAPI error when trying to send an email from E-Automate.  I attached the screen shot.  They are running Outlook with O365 not sure of the version of E-EAutomate.   No password changes have been made basic troubleshooting has been done, restart etc...  I have a call into the vendor but perhaps maybe get an answer here.  As always the help is appreciated.

We have mailboxes in office 365

Is there any exchange online command which can give room mailbox statistics  which room is booked often which least how many times a room mail box is booked

Hello,

Recently, while migrating users to office 365, those of us logged into skype started getting constant popup notifications in the lower right corner of our screen. Few users have been  got notifications when some of their contacts  become available, unavailable, go online, go offline, etc.

Looking at the settings for alerts and such, there doesn't appear to be much of any options to choose from to disable these.

Is there no way to disable them? choosing untag or ignore seems to resolving the problems

Thanks!

We are having an issue with the accounting software.

When payroll completes, it emails each user their paystub.  We have 4 people who do not get the email.

It is the same 4 mailboxes each time.

The accounting program gives the following error.

FrameworkException
Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.4.1 [username@domainname.com]: Recipient address rejected: Access denied [BN1AFFO11FD007.protection.gbl]

Accounting program support says it is a DNS, MX, Office 365, etc. issue.

My question is, could it be a DNS or MX issue if 38 other mailboxes get the email?

I don’t think the email ever “leaves” the program because the bounce is instantaneous, less than 3 seconds.  I think it would take at least 15 seconds to hit the mail server, get rejected and send back the bounce error.

More Information:
We use Office 365 for email, no Exchange in house.

Mailboxes are not full.

When I run a message trace for all email (received, failed, quarantined, etc.) on the mail server for the mailboxes with the issue, only received email shows up, no rejected mail.

It is not in Junk mail or seen as SPAM in Outlook because Outlook never sees it.

If we put the email address of a mailbox that does not have the issue in the email field under the user's account that has the issue in the accounting software, the email is received to that other mailbox.

If we put an email address with the issue…

Hello, is it possible to assign a roomlist distribution group (New-DistributionGroup -Name <RoomListName> -RoomList) to a list of addresses (Set-AddressList)? If so, what RecipientFilter can I use to target a roomlist distribution list and not all other distributions lists?

Hi,

Really need some help with powershell script to pass attribute for identity in a variable set.  I'd like to use this in another script and call as a function to create mailboxes which has the Samaccountname defined.

The variables in this script are defined as:
        $Prefix = $User.samaccountname
        $UPN = $User.UserPrincipalName

But the $prefix is NOT passing for the user I input.

I pulled the Add mailbox code out of this script:  External Licensing Script

The script I have is here, I'm doing an external connection to exchange in one function, and have another function to create the remote mailbox.

Function Connectexchange {
    $Username = "adminmsol@cchs.onmicrosoft.com"
    $Username2 = "domain\admin"
    $Password = ConvertTo-SecureString 'Password@' -AsPlainText -Force
    $Livecred = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential $Username, $Password
    $Livecred2 = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential $Username2, $Password
    $ExchangeServer = "Exchangeonprem.domain.com"
    $DomainUpn = "domain.com"
    $TargetAddress = "company.mail.onmicrosoft.com"

    ##Connect to Exchange Server to Create the Remote Mailbox##

Dear Experts,

I am looking to upgrade my company to Microsoft Office 365.  I am in the process of doing my homework and I focusing on the email portion of O365.  The company has a few scan-to-email MFP printers that I want to find out if they are compatible with MS O365 with TLS enabled.  We have 3 HP LaserJet MFPs scattered throughout the facility and each of these MFPs use scan-to-email.  The LaserJet MFPs are:

1. HP LaserJet MFP M130fw
2. HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw
3. HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw

Can an expert please let me know if any/all of the above 3 HP LaserJet MFPs are compatible with MS O365 with TLS enabled?  -or-  do I have to upgrade my LaserJet MFPs?

Thank you,

Hello,

Our company is looking to manage company deployed mobile phones using the MaaS Portal.

Our IT is being asked to get the required information being mentioned in this link ready for the polices being defined in the portal.

https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/wikis/home?lang=en#!/wiki/W0dcb4f3d0760_48cd_9026_a90843b9da06/page/iOS%20ActiveSync%20Settings

We only have one Exchange Active Sync policy in our O365 tenant.  Is anyone familiar with how this is setup?  This is my understanding of what the vendor is asking for, but I am not sure of how to do that.  If someone knows, please advise some directions.

Many thanks.

So I installed a shared configuration of Office 265/2016 on a RDP server environment for about 100 users.  It installed Teams, which I want to remove.  When I uninstall it for a single user, it still pops up for other users on the server.  so it seems to only be uninstalling a stub of the program, and not totally removing it from the server entirely.  What am I missing?  do I need to reinstall it specifying the Teams to not install?

Thanks for your help

Hi All

We have a client that uses Office 365 SharePoint heavlily and each user syncs teh data with their local PC. He has a large amount of data (400GB) whihc is filling up local HDD space when the PC is used by multiple users.

The users are reluctent to use the "free up space" option in Windows 10.

Rather than have the data synching multiple times on multiple PC's & user profiles, is there any way to sync the 365 Sharepoint onto a server and then map the drive to the users?

This would allows all users to work locally on the data, which would then only need to sync to one place. Also this would allow the data to be backed up locally.

I'm about to start a minimal cutover in Office 365 from Exchange 2010.  I have everything setup and I have a couple mailboxes that I am testing with. I ran into one problem. The username for the mailbox is still username@domain.onmicrosoft.com The primary email address is correct - username@domain.com.

The users will have to log into Outlook with username@domain.onmicrosoft.com. I can't change the login to username@domain.com.

It says "This user is synchronized with your local Active Directory. Some details can be edited only through your local Active Directory."  I can't see where I can make this change on-premise. I assume once I stop adsync, I'll be able to change that but I need it to be correct when each  mailbox gets migrated.
