Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.

Hi,

I read this article from MS about basic authentication which is not supported anymore on October 13th, 2020:

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/office/blogs/end-of-support-for-basic-authentication-access-to-exchange-online-apis-for-office-365-customers/

What does it mean for users like me who still use Mail (default app) in my Android 4.5? We use active sync and IMAP.

Thanks

We have a hybrid environment at our location. What is the best way to get statistics on ALL Licensed E1 users mailbox size? ONLY E1 Licensed users. My goal is to convert all E1 licenses to F1 but since F1 has a size limit of 2GB i would like to check mailbox usage first of all E1 users prior to changing licenses. Can anyone help please as this is urgent. Is this best done via the o365 GUI or power-shell?

I have tried the following to gather information or head in the right direction

Gets all E1 Users but does not show me mailbox size

get-MSOLUser -All | where {$_.isLicensed -eq "TRUE" -and $_.Licenses.AccountSKUID -eq "Contoso:STANDARDPACK"} | Out-GridView

This script would work but i would like to import-csv the users list of users under 2GB of mailbox size instead of mass deploying it all.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/cloudpfe/2014/01/30/how-to-change-office-365-licenses-in-bulk-respecting-the-license-options/

Ive thought about changing this line to accomplish that:

$users = Import-Csv -Path C:\users.csv     Rather than>         #Get-MsolUser -MaxResults 5000 | Where-Object { $_.isLicensed -eq "TRUE" }

This way i can import a list of all E1 Licensed Users with a mailbox under 2GB.

Can anyone help please.

Hi - How do we change the user account that was used to install Office 365 ProPlus (as part of Office 365 E3) on a PC?

We have a user who has now left the company. Within their account properties, under 'My Installs', it shows that they have installed Office 365 ProPlus on 1 device. The device has now been passed to another user. How do we transfer the Office 365 ProPlus install to another user? We intend to remove the users (who has now left) account in Office 365 shortly and do not want the installed Office 365 ProPlus suite to run in reduced functionality mode.

I hope this makes sense

Using Office 365 shared activation and click to run - is this supported for use with Citrix XA/XD?  Would FSLogix need to be used with modern authentication?

I'm not running modern authentication but wanted see if this was a requirement.

Thanks Experts

Dear O365 experts,
We are planning on enabling Sharepoint Online, Planner and Power BI to our associates and we noticed that every time:
1) a task created in Planner, an office 365 group is created automatically (and the O365 group used in power bi as a workspace)
2) when a modern site is created in Sharepoint online, an Office 365 group is created automatically.

So my question, how do you govern Office 365 groups in your tenants? Making sure 1) it is audited,  2) it is not randomly just created, 3) and accounted for/tied to a user?

Thanks!

Is O365 really HIPAA Compliant.  Does it need any add-on's?  Are all versions of O365 compliant?

Gents I want to make sure I am reading this correctly.  Can someone advise as to the clients we support that are on an O365 platform what may cause interruption?

Basic Authentication Retirement for legacy protocols in Exchange Online
Major update: Announcement started
Applied To: All customers

Beginning October 13, 2020, we will retire Basic Authentication for EWS, EAS, IMAP, POP and RPS to access Exchange Online. Note: this change does not impact SMTP AUTH.

There are several actions that you and/or your users can take to avoid service disruptions on client applications, and we describe them below. If no action is taken, client applications using Basic Authentication for EWS will be retired on October 13, 2020.

Any application using OAuth 2.0 to connect to these protocols, will continue to work without change or interruption.

[What do I need to do to prepare for this change?]

You have several options on how to prepare for the retirement of Basic Authentication.

You can start updating the client applications your users are using to versions that support OAuth 2.0 today. For mobile device access, there are several email apps available that support Modern Authentication, but we recommend switching to the Outlook app for iOS and Android as we believe it provides the best overall experience for your M365 connected users. For desktop/laptop access, we encourage the use of the latest versions of Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac. All Outlook versions …

Hi Experts,

The following Worksheet_SelectionChange events, which is properly firing in Excel 2010, is not working in Excel 365.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim vType As String
Dim vAlertStyle    As String
Dim vOperator     As String
Dim vFormula1  As String
Dim vFormula2      As String
Dim n As Long

Dim a As Validation
If Target.Column = 5 And Target.Row > 1 Then
    On Error GoTo Skip
    n = Target.Validation.Type
  If n <> 3 Then GoTo Skip
    If InStr(Target.Value, "-") > 0 Then
    Application.EnableEvents = False

    '''Target.Value = Right(Target.Value, Len(Target.Value) - InStr(1, Target.Value, "_"))
    Target.Value = Split(Target.Value, "_")(1)
    Target.Validation.Add Type:=vType, AlertStyle:=vAlertStyle, Operator:=vOperator, Formula1:=vFormula1, Formula2:=vFormula2
    Target.ColumnWidth = 12

Dear all

A client has office 365/Exchange Online. Is it somehow possible to use the smpt.office365.com as mail relay with an authenticated user?
So emails can be sent with ANY sender email?

As we don't know with which senderemail the client will send emails, I cannot not add the user which is authenticated to ALL other mailboxes with sendas permission.
Also, It could be that there is NO Mailbox with the email configured, that they may use as sender.

My only Idea till now is, to install an internal Mailserver and user that one as relay, add the Clients fixed IP to the SPF DNS.

Maybe there is a solution to use office 365 as relay, anyone?

I have migrated our 20 person environment to O365, staged migration single domain, single tenant.   All mailboxes are off of the Exchange 2003 server, which I have to take out of service.  We are using Azure AD Connect.  Never used Dirsync, never used Azure Active Directory Sync.  I want to manage users on-prem.  If I add new users I can manage them from the cloud with no issues.  Can I safely completely remove and shut down the Exchange 2003 Server? I see some artices that say I cannot, some that say I can. Which answer is correct? Does anyone have good info to add the the articles below?

I am running Office 365 on my Windows 10 laptop.   I have the "Auto-Complete" option checked in my Options under Mail.  The Auto-Complete works fine, but every time I close down and restart Outlook it seems to automatically empty the Auto-Complete data ... and I need to manually re-enter the email addresses again (just once).  I can't find any setting that tells it to empty the Auto-Complete when Outlook shuts down.  This never used to happen.  Please help.

Thanks,

Phil

I'd like to run a report showing the number of received and sent e-mails over a period of time for a shared mailbox. The Office 365 Reports in the admin center only allow this for users. How can I get the report for a shared mailbox?

Thanks,

In office 365, on OWA, it has an archive folder.  Exactly what purpose does this serve?  Isn't archiving to alleviate the space from the server?  Then what is the function of this folder.  Is it extra space from Microsoft?

Gents got a critical issue here.  President of one of the companies no longer can receive UM to his O365 email when someone leaves a voicemail on his phone.   The phone company has checked on their end states the relay is fine.   Everyone else in the company is able to receive them in their inbox but him.   I am not sure what he changed but does anyone know where I can look to see if UM is turn on for him?  Do I need to see if his outlook client had something change or within the O365 portal?  He is missing critical voicemails please help.

We are starting to use Microsoft teams as part of Office365 and I have a question on notification settings. Is there a way to turn on notifications for channels from the Admin console? If a user goes to settings and Notifications they can select them themselves but can we enforce them from the admin console or via GPO?

I have setup a custom curfew rule in Office 365 to turn off email based on membership of email group. Basically in the evening it turns on a mail transport rule that passes any new email to the Office 365 Quarantine. Then in the morning it disable that rule and releases everything in Quarantine with a -Type TransportRule

Whilst this works fairly well some email doesn't get released (I think due to the page size 100 default).

I would like to delete everything in the Quarantine that has a Released Status of Yes using the Delete-QuarantineMessage cmdlet but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a Released Status switch :(

Any thoughts on to how I could achive this?
