I'm getting the MS Office 365 account login when launching Outlook 2019.  The Office installation is using a volume license, using the setup /configure configuration.xml command.  Outlook is hosted with Appriver and autodiscover record is set correctly.  Two identical boxes setup using the same process and one is having this issue.  After continuing past the prompt it then finishes and Outlook looks to be fine.  They do not have any Office 365 licenses or accounts.  The prompt comes back usually daily.  I setup an account with the persons e-mail to see if it would stop but it hasn't.  I've tried removing completely (full scrub) and even a fresh copy of Windows 10.  Still gets the prompt.

We have a remote consultant working for our company who has been setup with an O365 exchange email account.  When trying to connect to his mailbox using the wizard in Outlook 365 (click to run) it tries to connect to O365 but then fails to connect.  He’s not even getting the Outlook dialogue box to enter his password.   It just spins then returns the default Outlook is struggling to connect.  It’s difficult for me to get access his laptop to troubleshoot as he’s in a different time zone.  He can access his mailbox via his mobile phone and the O365 portal direct from the same laptop and the same internet connection.
Any ideas?

We have Exchange Hybrid setup as we are migrating from Exchange 2013 to Exchange Online.

We have a user who has an on-prem mailbox and a cloud mailbox, I believe this has come about because the user had an Exchange Online license then later an on-prem mailbox was created for them.  We have now removed the users Exchange Online license as we want them to use their on-prem mailbox until we are ready to migrate their mailbox to the cloud.

Trying to remove the mailbox in O365 Powershell I get the following:

Remove-Mailbox -Identity John.Smith
'Windows LiveID Agent' : Unable to perform the save operation.  'John Smith' is not within a valid server write scope.

Disable-Mailbox -Identity 'John Smith'
Exchange can't disable the mailbox "John Smith" because it is on In-Place hold.

However, the mailbox doesn't appear to be on In-Place hold, as when I run the following command:

Get-Mailbox "John Smith" | fl compl*,delay*,inplace*

The following is returned:

ComplianceTagHoldApplied : False
DelayHoldApplied         : False
DelayReleaseHoldApplied  : False
InPlaceHolds             : {}

I have also tried the following:

Disable-Mailbox -Identity 'John Smith' -IgnoreLegalHold -PermanentlyDisable

But then I get:

Cannot Disable-Mailbox for 'John Smith' because this user has a valid license.

Please help!

Hi Experts,

What's the best practice of moving an on-premises, non-mail enabled public folder contacts and calendars to O365?
This will be a hybrid migration and we'd like to decommission the PFs as a part of the project. We're aware that they'd be accessible for online users during the hybrid, but that's not an option here.

Is shared mailbox for each PF a way to go or?
What's the easiest way to migrate?

Thank you

Hi,

This is my situation.

- I have everything from Exchange 2010 (mailboxes, Public folder) move the O365.
- Remove-HybridConfiguration is ran (Is optional according to MS but we remove it)
- Because the objects sources are in on-premise AD we use Azure AD Connect to sync objects to O365
- Keep just 2 Exchange 2016 without mailboxes for management purpose only

Now , I'm just curious.

If " Remove-HybridConfiguration " is optional why don't we just do it. What this cmd does exactly? What AD attributes are removed after running that cmd?

I have a form called PowerlineF.  It's tied to a MS SQL backend table called PowerlineT.  On this form I have a button "btnDuplicateProject".  The goal is to duplicate the current record when a project needs to be split in half due to a decision to build it in different phases with different construction timelines.  The code I planned to use to duplicate is:

Private Sub Duplicate Project_Click()

On Error GoTo err_Error_handler

If Me.Dirty = True Then
    Me.Dirty = False
End If

With DoCmd
        .RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord
        .RunCommand acCmdCopy
        .RunCommand acCmdRecordsGoToNew
        .RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord
        .RunCommand acCmdPaste
    End With

exit_Error_handler:
 On Error Resume Next
 Set objOutlook = Nothing
 Set objMailItem = Nothing
 Exit Sub

err_Error_handler:
 Select Case Err.Number
  Case 287
   MsgBox "Canceled by user.", vbInformation
  Case Else
   MsgBox "Error " & Err.Number & " " & Err.Description
 End Select

Resume exit_Error_handler

End Sub

I have some unique indexes preventing the duplicated record from saving.  My unique column is "ProjectName".  How can we prompt the user to provide a new name for the ProjectName field when pasting the duplicate record?

Also, if original project was named "Silvertip Powerline" and we wanted to split that project in half, we would need to change the original ProjectName to "Silvertip Powerline (Phase-1)" and the new duplicated project as "Silvertip Powerline (Phase-2)" at the time of duplication?  I'm thinking we'd deploy a message box to facilitate the name change by asking the what the ProjectName should be changed to on the original, then followed by another message box prompting user to provide a ProjectName for the duplicate/new.  Problem is, I don't know how to implement these things within the code.

Thanks!

What files are in use when PowerPoint 365 is saving a file?
I am trying to find out which files populate Windows Task Manager whenever you save a PowerPoint file.
During the save process, what files  are needed to be on the computer before PowerPoint tries to save a file?
Would Event Viewer application logs tells which files were in use during a PowerPoint save process?
Would Office 365 logs tell you which files are in use when you try to save a file?

Can I use a program like Windows Process Explorer (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer) to tell me files are in operation when I am saving a PowerPoint presentation?

Hello experts,
Quick  question, our security folks keep capturing the "add service principal" in the audit from the Security and Compliance center in Office 365. Is that something we need to be alerted on and raise it as a risk?

Also, in addition, do you have any recommendations (an article or blog) that our incident response team need to look at?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi - We have a client who has signed up for a Office 365 Business Premium subscription. They have not added a custom domain to the tenant yet as they wanted to be sure that the applications within the subscription met their requirements. Users are currently accessing Office 365 services using the 'onmicrosoft.com' accounts. During the testing, they have setup 4 SharePoint sites. Testing has gone well and they now want to setup a custom domain.

After adding a custom domain, what further action needs to be taken to ensure everything functions correctly using the custom domain?

1) Assume I will need to update users email address with new custom domain details?
2) Will any tweaks be required within the existing SharePoint sites? If so, what are they?
3) Are there any other actions to be taken to ensure everything is set correctly?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

In office 365, if I enter a phone number into a users profile in the admin portal, how can other users in the organization find that phone number from their outlook clients on their desktop?  Isn't there a way to make use of the profile entries so that others in the organization can see these types of details?

On premise AD seems to have stopped syncing with Office 365 cloud. What should I check for? I've made three user accounts all in OUs that have proven to have their objects sync to the cloud. However now nothing is syncing, even though on the Office admin side it says syncs are occurring as normal. I've also forced syncs with powershell and still these accounts aren't syncing to the cloud. Any ideas?

Hi, I am trying to change all my group email suffixes in Office 365?  For example, it's currently <some department@domain.org> and I'd like to change it where it displays in Outlook as <some department@domain2.org>.  However I don't want to make this change for one department alone but for all departments past, present, and future moving forward.

I need to take these 2 scripts and make them iteratively for all my Office 365 groups moving forward.

PS C:\Users\david.shibuya> Set-UnifiedGroup -Identify Legal_team -Email Addresses @{add="legal_team@orbis.org"}

PS C:\Users\david.shibuya> Set-UnifiedGroup -Identify Legal_team -PrimarySmtpAddress legal_team@orbis.org

I currently have a private hoster for my email with POWWEB.  I also pay for a personal version of Office 365.  Does the "home" version of O365 allow for hosting for email?  Can I migrate to office 365 and quit my own hoster?
