Announces the release of Kernel Migrator for Exchange

Kernel Data Recovery announces the release of Kernel Migrator for Exchange, a complete solution for Exchange/Office 365 migrations. As per the company sources, the tool can perform a swift migration of mailboxes from Exchange/Office 365 to another Exchange or Office 365. The tool can also be used for public folder migration. This tool works with on-premises, hosted, hybrid, & cloud Exchange deployments for both intra-forest and cross-forest migrations. This tool is unique in many ways as it has features for pre-migration analysis, real-time alerts, web console based reports, and post-migration co-existence between the source & destination environments. The company describes it as an in-house migration solution for all Exchange administrators.

Passed the 70-347 exam yesterday, earning me the MCSA for Office 365.

The 70-347 is definitely the most difficult exam that I've done in recent years.

Hello,

We have a Windows 2008r2 server set up as a remote desktop server. The server currently has Office 2010 on it and we would like to update to Office 2016. We use Office 365 and I attempted to install, but received a message that we need a volume license. What do I have to do to get Office 2016 on here?

Thanks

I've written a very simple PowerShell Script to connect to the following Microsoft Online Services from one Powershell Window:

Office365 Admin Center
Exchange Online
Sharepoint Online
Skype for Business
Security and Compliance Center

You can find the Script here:
https://davidatkin.com/blog/powershell-script-connect-microsoft-online-services-office365/

I know there are alot of these scripts out there but thought I would Share it anyway.

I have a Dell H625cdw Copy\Scan\Printer that I am having issue getting to scan to email.   The owner of the device had lost the admin password so I had to factory reset it.   Now that it is factory reset I am not familure with the SMTP settings to make it work.   The owner is using Office 365 and I am using smtp.0ffice365.com as the SMTP server.   I have tried several of the authentication type settings but expect that is the current issue.   Can someone give me a little guidance with this unit please.   Thank you

Here's an article from MS on how to set it up - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-Office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4

Make sure you have the port set to 587 and TLS is enabled.

Not all emails show in Outlook 2013 but are in respective folders in Office 365.

We migrated this summer for Exchange on site to Office 365 and moved up to Outlook 2013. Working pretty good but for a few users emails that hit the inbox are moved to folders and then they disappear. No filters are applied, we've turned cacheing on and off and as you can see from the screenshot properties/syncronization the system sees there should be 5 items on the server (there is) and in the offline folder (we don't see them).

Been banging my head on this for a month and I'm out of ideas. I've moved the sub-folders around from root to below inbox and it's only a handful of folders. Renamed them, recreated them...those emails do not want show up in Outlook 2013 but are 100% there in the web interface!screenshot of outlook 2013 and missing emails

I recently passed my Microsoft 70-346 Exam.  As part of my revision I used Flash Cards that I created to help memorise key information.  The Flash Cards have been created on Cram and I've recently made them public.  You can access them from here:

http://www.cram.com/flashcards/70-346-8863906

I've gone overboard on the amount of information on there but It might help those attempting to pass this exam.  Obviously this is to be used in conjunction with other courses.  I can recommend the course on Platform Scholar.

The information on the Flashcards are valid as far as I am aware.  Obviously I take no liability for incorrect information.

Also, if you want an online video I highly recommend the Platform Scholar courses.

I am sharing with you some quick commands on using Office 365 Power Shell to perform Office 365 admin center tasks from the command line to your Office 365 organization:

How you can Connect to Office 365:

Import Office 365 Module  : Import-Module MSOnline
Connect to your Directory  : Connect-MsolService
Users Commands:

List all users:                        get-msoluser -all
List all users with count:        get-msoluser -all | measure

Change UPN on all unlicensed users:      Get-MsolUser -all | Where { -Not $_.UserPrincipalName.ToLower().StartsWith(“admin@”) } | ForEach { Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -ObjectId $_.ObjectId -NewUserPrincipalName ($_.UserPrincipalName.Split(“@”)[0] + “@acig.com.sa”) }
Remove all unlicensed users:       Get-MsolUser -all | Where-Object {$_.isLicensed -ne "true"} | Remove-MsolUser -Force

Office 365 Licensing Information:

You can use a Power Shell script to check if users have a license assigned directly or inherited from a group:

      1. Run the connect-msolservice cmdlet to authenticate and connect to your tenant as explained on the above commands.
      2. Get-MsolAccountSku can be used to discover all provisioned product licenses in the tenant.

Thanks and hope this might helps.

2017-09-20-13.01.07.pngEarly adopters of Apple iOS 11 are unable to send Microsoft-provided email using the native Mail app.

So I would hold off upgrade if this is important to you!

It affects Outlook.com, Office 365 and Exchange 2016 running on Windows Server 2016. Many businesses rely on Exchange and Office 365 for email.

Whoops.....Too late!

Gotta wonder how this ended up happening... iOS 11 was in beta for plenty of time...

Just did some quick checking and MacRumors is saying that there were bug reports on this during the beta:
https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/20/apple-microsoft-email-server-issue-mail-app-ios-11/

Looks like Microsoft has some workarounds too. Either using Outlook for iOS client or disabling HTTP/2 in Windows Server 2016.

Looks like you added this as a post.  You might want to change it to a question to get more attention and answers.

https://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-affiliate-program-try-business-premium

Office 365 has a free business trial, otherwise it's $12.50 per user.  The best thing for you to do is sign up, roll up your sleeves, and run through some items.

-Create a Mailbox.
-Create a Distribution List.
-Set up a copy of Outlook.
-Create contacts.
-Create a dynamic distribution list.
-Set up some spam filters.
-Set up a sharepoint site.
-Install office on your PC with O365
etc.

You can try and get interview questions and answers for O365 questions but how does that qualify you for the job?  What are you going to do when they expect you to do a basic task you have no idea how to?  (What's the point of getting a job and then losing it?)  There's a reason they ask them, to see if you have the skills and knowledge they are looking for.  O365 is not complicated by any means, the Exchange admin side is probably the one most IT jobs want more experience with; but management in the portal is very easy.

If you want more info from other experts I'd suggest posting this again as a question- but be warned you will probably get the same answer about the Q&A.

Just created a Sharepoint Slide Library on Office 365 but when I click on "Upload" then select "Publish Slides" I get the error "This feature requires Microsoft PowerPoint.  Either the application is not installed, or your browser is not configured to support ActiveX controls.  I have PowerPoint 2016 installed ( other users get the same error with PowerPoint 2010 installed).  I have also reset my IE (32 bit) security settings to default.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
