Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.

Microsoft Access Query is Corrupt errors.
Microsoft Access Query is Corrupt Error 3340
Earlier this week, Microsoft released several Security Updates that caused update queries in Microsoft Access database applications and programs storing data in Microsoft Access databases to fail.

An erroneous Query is Corrupt message appears.

Affected Programs
This impacts
  • Microsoft Access 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and Office 365
  • 32 and 64 bit versions of Access
  • Applications that use the Access Database Engine (ACE) such as those written in Visual Studio .NET, VB6, and even web solutions that update Access databases.

Detailed Article with Multiple Workaround Suggestions
Our customers encountered this confusing error, and our team investigated and published an article to explain the issue and how to mitigate it. Microsoft announced they will fixed this in the next security update in December. That's hardly acceptable for applications that were running perfectly fine on Monday. Hope this helps.

Azure Service Connectivity failed, Unable to Procced: Azure AD Connect Error
In my recent assignment, I was configuring new Azure AD Connect Server and helping the customer to decommission the older one. However, while configuring the Azure AD Connect Server, we encountered below error:

Azure Service Connectivity failed, Unable to Procced:
The on-premises synchronization service is not able to connect to the Azure Active Directory, Updating the proxy settings for the AD sync account may resolve this issue.

To resolve this issue, please follow below steps:

1: Verify proxy connectivity

Heads up for Office 365 Users on the monthly channel: Version 1811 Build 11029.20079 has a bug that is breaking MAPI (used to send e-mails).  For Access, that means the SendObject command will fail, as will products such as vbMAPI or Outlook Redemption.

This is all the detail I have at the moment.  Not sure if it effects Access alone or all Office apps.

Don't like the current themes in the newest version of Access?   Microsoft is rolling out two new ones.  For details, see:

https://products.office.com/en-US/business/office-365-roadmap?filters=access

and look under "In Development".  And if your looking for all the latest that is happening with Access, use the the red "Filters" button, select "Access", and then click apply.

For those of you wondering what might be up and coming in Office, one way to stay on top of that is the office 365 road map page:  https://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-roadmap?filters=#abc

and checking the "In Development" section.  For those interested in Microsoft Access, you will find a new feature listed there:

"Access: New charts for modern data visualization
Introducing new charts to help you visualize data managed in Access in an appealing and modern way. Add any of the new eleven chart types, including a combo chart, to a form/report to visualize your data and make informed decisions."

Sounds like we are going to get a major new feature!   Of course, if your part of the Office Insider program, you'll be one of first to be able to check it out!

Exchange Admins,
Exchange Administrator of a O365 tenant that is using either DirSync or AADSync are no longer supported and may not work correctly. These tools are no longer supported as of April 2017, and after December 31, 2017 O365 team are not able to guarantee your connections from Windows Azure Active Directory Synchronization (DirSync) or Azure AD Sync work properly.  This may affect your ability to synchronize your local directory infrastructure with Office 365, and will result in users being unable to log in to their Office 365 services.

Recommended action
Azure Active Directory (AAD) Connect is the best way to connect your on-premises directory with Azure AD and Office 365.  Upgrade your sync functionality to the latest version of Azure AD Connect, which is the currently supported tool for syncing data to O365 cloud features.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

gSuite help is still terrible.

I have several comments about how using paid support for Office 365 is far superior to the experience using gSuite including my comment on this article from 2015.

Yesterday's call to gSuite support reconfirms.  Problem is a user wants to have access to Android apps on his new Google Pixelbook. Going to settings on the Pixelbook to enable the feature is grayed out.  A call to Pixelbook support confirmed the issue is the user is a member of a business gSuite account and there is a feature that has to be turned on.  I was directed to call into gSuite. Calling gSuite support is about as helpful as talking to my 2 year old niece. The gSuite tech acted as if he had no knowledge of a Pixelbook. I had to explain several times it was a product of his own company. Even going down the Chromebook route didn't help. He could simply point to turning on a feature that was already set. Otherwise, I would have to call the Pixelbook Support.

I have called into office 365 support for many issues. Sometimes the issue went beyond the scope of what the tech should have helped for their own silo, but they still were able to spend 30 to 60 minutes on the phone to solve the issue with great patience and product knowledge.

After the sale support many times goes unnoticed or untested.  When evaluating a service or software, I will call in…

Please do Scott. I'll be more than happy to edit and get it published for you.

I think a lot of people may benefit from your experiences, and it may just be the push Google needs to provide some decent support.

Hello,

We have a Windows 2008r2 server set up as a remote desktop server. The server currently has Office 2010 on it and we would like to update to Office 2016. We use Office 365 and I attempted to install, but received a message that we need a volume license. What do I have to do to get Office 2016 on here?

Thanks

I've written a very simple PowerShell Script to connect to the following Microsoft Online Services from one Powershell Window:

Office365 Admin Center
Exchange Online
Sharepoint Online
Skype for Business
Security and Compliance Center

You can find the Script here:

I know there are alot of these scripts out there but thought I would Share it anyway.

I have a Dell H625cdw Copy\Scan\Printer that I am having issue getting to scan to email.   The owner of the device had lost the admin password so I had to factory reset it.   Now that it is factory reset I am not familure with the SMTP settings to make it work.   The owner is using Office 365 and I am using smtp.0ffice365.com as the SMTP server.   I have tried several of the authentication type settings but expect that is the current issue.   Can someone give me a little guidance with this unit please.   Thank you

Not all emails show in Outlook 2013 but are in respective folders in Office 365.

We migrated this summer for Exchange on site to Office 365 and moved up to Outlook 2013. Working pretty good but for a few users emails that hit the inbox are moved to folders and then they disappear. No filters are applied, we've turned cacheing on and off and as you can see from the screenshot properties/syncronization the system sees there should be 5 items on the server (there is) and in the offline folder (we don't see them).

Been banging my head on this for a month and I'm out of ideas. I've moved the sub-folders around from root to below inbox and it's only a handful of folders. Renamed them, recreated them...those emails do not want show up in Outlook 2013 but are 100% there in the web interface!screenshot of outlook 2013 and missing emails

I recently passed my Microsoft 70-346 Exam.  As part of my revision I used Flash Cards that I created to help memorise key information.  The Flash Cards have been created on Cram and I've recently made them public.  You can access them from here:

http://www.cram.com/flashcards/70-346-8863906

I've gone overboard on the amount of information on there but It might help those attempting to pass this exam.  Obviously this is to be used in conjunction with other courses.  I can recommend the course on Platform Scholar.

The information on the Flashcards are valid as far as I am aware.  Obviously I take no liability for incorrect information.

I am sharing with you some quick commands on using Office 365 Power Shell to perform Office 365 admin center tasks from the command line to your Office 365 organization:

How you can Connect to Office 365:

Import Office 365 Module  : Import-Module MSOnline
Connect to your Directory  : Connect-MsolService
Users Commands:

List all users:                        get-msoluser -all
List all users with count:        get-msoluser -all | measure

Change UPN on all unlicensed users:      Get-MsolUser -all | Where { -Not $_.UserPrincipalName.ToLower().StartsWith(“admin@”) } | ForEach { Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -ObjectId $_.ObjectId -NewUserPrincipalName ($_.UserPrincipalName.Split(“@”)[0] + “@acig.com.sa”) }
Remove all unlicensed users:       Get-MsolUser -all | Where-Object {$_.isLicensed -ne "true"} | Remove-MsolUser -Force

Office 365 Licensing Information:

You can use a Power Shell script to check if users have a license assigned directly or inherited from a group:

      1. Run the connect-msolservice cmdlet to authenticate and connect to your tenant as explained on the above commands.
      2. Get-MsolAccountSku can be used to discover all provisioned product licenses in the tenant.

Thanks and hope this might helps.

So I would hold off upgrade if this is important to you!

Gotta wonder how this ended up happening... iOS 11 was in beta for plenty of time...

Just did some quick checking and MacRumors is saying that there were bug reports on this during the beta:
https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/20/apple-microsoft-email-server-issue-mail-app-ios-11/

Looks like Microsoft has some workarounds too. Either using Outlook for iOS client or disabling HTTP/2 in Windows Server 2016.
