Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.

We've had a company in for past year for 365, we have hybrid exchange, we're not happy with them, interviewing other consultancy companys

Looking for 5-10 areas to go over with them, not so much interview questions as they will know that but best areas to concentrate on,

Thanks

a number of our clients want to split their office 365 portals (they have multiple domains / companies and want them in a separate portal). Is it possible to migrate from one Office 365 tenant to another Office 365 tenant?

Dear Experts,

I have a client using Office 365 but recently his calendar events cannot be edited.  The edit button is replaced with a trash bin.

We tested on two other user accounts, they can edit the calendar invite.

Is there a setting that is different in the user settings of Office 365 or Outlook 2016?

Does PTA simply round-robin between each PTA Agent.  PTA does not do Deterministic Load Balancing, then what does it do?

I'm struggling with overcoming the 5000 document limit on libraries for SharePoint O365.

We're using the Document Center flavor of SharePoint and had thought that we could configure it to support greater than 5,000 documents (if we used indexes on key metadata fields) to 20,000 (or ideally even more) documents per library.

It doesn't seem that's the case.  There's a note with the articles we've found where SharePoint OnLine doesn't support doing this (whereas all non-MS hosted SparePoint versions do).

Is this a limit we can't adjust to 20,000 with SharePoint O365 or are we just missing on where we can modify it?

Hi,

It happens to one of the user; the below security certificate prompts all the time; it is as the followings:

autodiscover's outlook.com
Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the site's security certificate.

(It is checked) The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority.

(It is checked) The security certificate date is valid.

(It is crossed out) The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site.

Do you want to proceed?

(There are 3 options: Yes or No or View Certificate)

When i click "view certificate"..... I saw something related to "Symantec something"

My questions:
1) How to troubleshoot it?
2) Is it related to Microsoft Office? Should I remove and install back Microsoft office?
3) Or Is it related to Symantec Endpoint protection?
4) Let me know the possible solution

Thanks,
tjie

I have some Code on our Intranet that Syncs Employee contacts with the Users Outlook Contacts.

The code has been working great for On-Premise users for years. I am testing the Migration of users to O365. When The user used the code below while still residing in the On-Premise server it works great.  After the Migration the code fails with 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' Though I'm still working with the WebTeam on what line the Error is coming from.

When using EWS what is the Flow for how it knows where the mailbox resides?  It would be great if there was Minimal Change to the Code.

I have converted other code that accesses the Office 365 Server Directly through EWS, though I would assume it would have an issue finding an On-Premise Mailbox.

Thanks,
  Scott<-

Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable Integrated Apps for an Office365 Tenant via powershell?  If so, can you give me the command as I can't find a reference for it.

See that attachment for reference.  (Settings> Serives & Addins> Integrated Apps)

Thank you

One of my clients using Office 365 (E3), direct with Microsoft, not through a 3rd party such as GoDaddy.

Now, this morning CEO's PA reports that when she opens his Inbox and Calendar in Outlook (2016, Cached Exchange Mode and she has Full Mailbox Access) both show as empty which she (and I) know is wrong.

So I logged onto http://portal.office.com as the CEO and eveyrthing is as expected, data in both Inbox & Calendar.

I log onto his desktop session (Citrix XenApp 6.5) and open Outlook and I get the following pop up:
---------------------------
Microsoft Outlook
---------------------------
Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name.  The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

So I fire up the Mail Control Panel and cannot get into the Server Properties of his existing Mail Profile (which I know was working last week as I had to troubleshoot an issue for him). So I go to create a new one. I use the automated connection and it pops up with this:
1.jpgIt has picked up his Primary SMTP address which is also his Office 365 username without fail but that is not the server name I expected. Checking online and that server name is part of GoDaddy's Office 365 …

We are about to deploy Office 365 to our organization.  We have always used Exchange ActiveSync Access to quarantine mobile devices attempting to sync with Exchange, and we have set this up in Exchange Online.  Now our concern is users signing into mobile devices with apps like Teams, OneDrive, Skype for Business, etc.  Is it possible to block these applications from being used on mobile without admin approval?

We are in the process of Migrating from On-Premise Exchange and Sharepoint to Office 365 with Sharepoint.

We currently have an On-Premise Sharepoint 2013 Servers. We host Mail and Sharepoint for a few Companies, so the Sharepoint server is home to several Root level Sites:
team.domain-A.com
team.domain-B.com
team.domain-C.com
team.domain-D.com

Each root site is Managed by their own Administrators and the users are different for each site.
All users are part of the same Activity Directory Domain.
I have all of the domains Validated in Office 365 and mail is flowing to all of them.

I just dont see where I can Add a new Root level Domain  and separate site for each of the existing sites I have.

I did not understand until after migration I need to keep exchange server locally to manage parts of the office 365 mailboxes but ok with that. My issue is Exchange 2010 is running on windows 2008 which needs to be removed soon. Once I get all the email removed from the user's mailboxes I thought it might be best to bring up a 2013 or 2016 Exchange server with a basic config on Windows 2012 R2 and migrate the email accounts to it. then I can work on removing the 2010 server

Does this sound correct and hate to do it but I do not like OS that cannot be updated?

Exchange Server 2010, SP3 RU19
New Office 365 Tenant

Reading this article I've worked my way to the bottom and it seems like its an All or nothing Migration?
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn874017%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396#Scripts

All of my Public Folders are pretty much Empty or can be. We use 1/2 of them as Mail enabled and incoming mail gets processed by some EWS Scripting, once the email is processed it is moved to another Non-mail enabled Public folder.

So I really just need to test my EWS Script on the O365 Public Folder.  In the Link above it seemed like you cant have Public Folder on both O365 and On-Premise? I cant remove my On-Premise Public folders until I know my Scripts work on the O365 Public folder.

Thanks!

We need to change a Mac Office 2016 user's Mac Office 2016 license from Retail to Office 365. This is because the retail license doesn't have all of the features that the Office 365 license has.

The user who needs this has already been assigned an Office 365 license but at the time he installed Office 2016 on his Mac (around a year ago) the retail license was used.

Is there an easy way of converting the Mac Office 2016 license from Retail to Office 365 or will we need to completely uninstall Office 2016 Retail and then download and install the Mac Office 2016 Office 365 version?

After moving an email (from say the inbox) to a newly created folder, the email disappears.

What would cause this?

I checked the sync settings and they seem correct.

Hi,

The following is the environment:

One Exchange 2013 and one 2016 server. The 2016 server is in hybrid mode. None of the the client access URLs point to the 2016 server FQDN. Autodiscover.domain.com (split DNS) points to autodiscover.outlook.com as all mailboxes (except journaling and some test mailboxes) are in Office 365.

The official cert is installed on Exchange.

Some Outlook clients get a certificate warning and it shows that they are trying to connect to the local Exchange 2016 server's FQDN - which gives the error of course because this name is not on the certificate.

Any idea how Outlook keeps connecting to this while none of the CAS URLs point to this FQDN and while autodiscover points to Exchange Online?

Thanks

In short, I have a transport rule in Exchange 2007 to block a DDG from receiving email from the internet, only internal email allowed.  In transitioning mail server to 365, I'll be sending mail to these users via a local smtp server that connects to AWS SES that sends the mail back to exchange, however these are treated as "outside" obviously.  I could add an exception to the transport rule to allow email from an address or distribution group to come through, but then I worry about spoofed emails getting to users and them thinking it is from an internal user.  I'm also considering adding an exception for anything with "out.amazonses.com" text pattern in the header through so anything coming from AWS SES is allowed, but then that would allow any email from amazonses.

Any other ideas or which would be best to limit this group during the transition?

Also, going forward with 365, I'll probably set up a relay in 365 and redirect this local SMTP server to authenticate and connect to it, but will I be in the same position with 365 that the emails coming from my local SMTP server will be considered "outside"?

I moved from an on-prem Exchange 2013 server to O365 over the holidays.  My users whipped out their phones and tried to set up their new accounts and it works great.  It goes right to O365 and they are cooking with jet fuel.

Locally, on prem, when they delete their current mail profile and let Outlook auto configure, it's not working.  It "appears" to be still looking for an on-prem exchange server.

I DO still have an on-prem exchange server and I have not uninstalled exchange so it's still there, in AD and everything, but ALL DNS is changed and I'm expecting Outlook building new profiles to auto discover and it doesn't seem to be working.  Ideas?

Should I build a local auto discover and point the a record to the O365 portal?

Thanks

Hello expert,

Working on a pivot table in Excel.
Need to make Allens (my)  pivot table the same as Chris pivot table.
Chris file Allens_report_b.jpg
In Chris file the PAYER_NAME, PAYER_ID, PRICING_RULE, COMPONENT_NAME, et.al
are columns with the values listed under the field or column name.

In Allen file the values are indented and the column names do not appear.

How can I get the Column Names to appear with values underneath as shown is Chris file.?
If unable to tell deductively the Allen file attached herewith.

Thanks.

We have users that we don't want to be able to view email outside of normal working hours.  We also only want these users to view their email from their work computer and not from their phone.  We are running Office 365 with no AD sync.

We've been running tests to try to block access to the various ways people can check their emails outside of work.  The only one that we are struggling with is the Outlook APP for mobile users.

How do you block this APP from downloading email while still allowing the user to receive email from their work computer?

Thanks for any help.
