Office 365 is a group of software plus services subscriptions that provides productivity software and related services to its subscribers. Office 365 allows the use of Microsoft Office apps on Windows and OS X, provides storage space on Microsoft's cloud storage service OneDrive, and grants 60 Skype minutes per month. Office 365 includes e-mail and social networking services through hosted versions of Exchange Server, Skype for Business Server, SharePoint and Office Online, integration with Yammer, as well as access to the Office software. All of Office 365's components can be managed and configured through an online portal; users can be added manually, imported from a CSV file, or Office 365 can be set up for single sign-on with a local Active Directory using Active Directory Federation Services.

In know in Azure you can scope a storage account to replicate globally or to a specific. This may not be possible but wanted to confirm in o365 I do not believe you can restricted that o365 mailbox data and Onedrive date only replicate to a specific region i.e N.A only for compliance reason correct?

Looking some clarification.

Want to incorporate another domain name currently using GMail business suite.
The are registered on GoDaddy.

Our own domain is O365 cloud based.

To change mail flow -is it a case of removing the GMail MX records īn the registered domain?
Then adding the existing MX record to the new domain ?
Xxx.com.mail.protection.outlook.com

Or are there further steps?

I have a client that have just setup a new office.

They utilize a shared mailbox between the five of them that they put common emails in so they can all review the contents. We'll call that mailbox 'Filing@'

They have an issue when replying. They sometimes don't catch that they are SENDING from that common mailbox and the recipient then gets an email from 'filing@' instead of the person who sent it.

They want us to come up with a system that will prevent them from doing that (I.E. sending from filing@)

No problem, we just removed the 'Send on Behalf' right and now they get an NDR.

However, the client is reporting at their previous office they got a notification immediately (a pop up of some sort, that's all the details I have).

They are currently on Office 365.

We can't find any method to duplicate what she is describing, a notification of some sort saying 'Don't do this' or 'Can't do this'.

One of my techs is suggesting they had in-house Exchange at their last place and perhaps you could do something like that there.

Helpful ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Looking some advise on how to change/move a domain's MX record(s)
This would facilitate for all mail coming into another Office 365 domain.

So basically re-point the MX record into another existing domain in Office 365.

This in turn would mean all mail would be directed to our Exchange Cloud Server

Hi All,

A client of our wants to share a SharePoint Online (Office365) site with some external clients.  I have created the site and I've gone into the sharing options and set it to allow access to external users who accept sharing invitations (as per attached pic). However when I then go into sharing and try to enter an external clients email address it will not work and just defaults to the nearest internal email address.  I cannot fathom how and where to go into the settings to enable me to send email invitations to external people, can someone please help me?

Many thanks

Adam

I need to see what permissions are set, and where they are applied, for all people / groups in office 365.
I'm new to sharepoint, and am taking over administration from an outside consultant.  Is there an easy way to generate a report on all permissions set, for all sites, subsites etc?

Hi People,

I'm trying to achieve below with no downtime:

DISABLE Circular Logging
Configure DAG
Allow Database Replication

I've got 2x Exchange Server 2013 Standard Edition SP1 in the two different AD sites:

AD Site: Default-First-Site-Name
PRODMBX20-VM
C:\ 200 GB - OS
P:\ 100 GB - Page File Drive
D:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX20-VM-DB01 [PRIMARY]
E:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX20-VM-DB02 [PRIMARY]

F:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX30-VM-DB01 [SECONDARY]
G:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX30-VM-DB02 [SECONDARY]

AD Site: Head Office
PRODMBX30-VM
C:\ 200 GB - OS
P:\ 100 GB - Page File Drive
F:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX30-VM-DB01 [PRIMARY]
G:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX30-VM-DB02 [PRIMARY]

D:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX20-VM-DB01 [SECONDARY]
E:\ 700 GB - PRODMBX20-VM-DB02 [SECONDARY]

The two mailboxes server will be replicating to each other, so my question is:

1. Can I disable the circular logging after the DAG has been configured on both servers and all mailboxes database successfully replicated?
2. Do I need to disable the circular logging first and then setup the DAG which cause the unwanted outage to the users?
3. Does the DAG can also running fine even with Circular Logging enabled?

Good afternoon experts,
I have a O365 client that appears to have had users removed from their O365 tenant when they left the company, however the users mailboxes are still in that tenant. So my question is two fold:

- 1st) Can I create a new user and associate to the orphaned mailbox somehow so I can export it down to PST and save for legal processes.
                                                                                                             or
-2nd) Can I not worry about creating a user and somehow just pull the mailbox down manually via powershell or preferably the O365 admin portal.

Thanks for your help,

S

This could be an OEM issue as I took an old gateway box and put in an Asus XM 88 plus board with AMD chip and a few years later I am have bazaar connectivity.

I am on my third outlook profile this year.  I have outlook 365.  I lose connection and most the time it works going to outlook.office365.com.  Some times neither work, yet other sites work and I can ping anywhere I try.  I have been solving the issue by disabling network adapter and  then enabling.  Well it has stopped enabling.  worst case I would recycle modem.  Now the adapter will not enable in either network screen or services screen.  I also have had search issues in outlook and re-indexed.
I also have DNS issues with some websites.  Something tells me this is one fix and I could be wrong, just a hunch after 30 years of messing with these things.

Things that I can remember that I have done.

Removed device and driver - reinstalled both with new and with current drivers
Replaced modem
Replaced Cables
run  ping to 127.0.0.1 -t and it ran for two days no hickups.
I have set dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I have undone that and redone that
I have run sfc /scannow
I have dumped DNS more times then I can count.
removed outlook accounts and restarted from scratch
I know there is more, but at this time after serving 8 for dinner, and needing to get this fixed, that is what I remember.

MS said that the latest update would fix my search issues.  They lied.  I totally re-indexed then had connectivity …

What is the cheapest Office 365 subscription that includes full access to the Office 2016 suite of software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).?

Does this subscription also include an email address? Or how much more is it to add an email address to this subscription? Will this be an E1, E2, or E3 email address subscription?

We have a MS Access database which contains a bunch of queries (e.g. customers_NorthEast, Customers_SouthWest, etc.).  The queries return an email address & salutation so we can do customized mail merges like:  Dear John, blah blah blah

We were using Email Merge Pro which made it easier than native Word Mail Merge.  You could select one or more of the MS Access queries and it would ensure there were no duplicates across queries and create one email per recipient so that there was no chance of accidentally disclosing the entire mailing list.

What's the best & simplest way to accomplish this task now that we've moved to Office 365 (Outlook 2016) ???

Requirements:
We don't ant to use a service where we upload and have our customer lists in the cloud.
We want to eliminate any chance of mishaps in which we accidentally disclose our customer list to the other customers
We are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!
and our users are LAZY LAZY LAZY !!!

All thoughts and suggestions very much welcome,
Thanks,
Mike

We have a client who's Office 365 directory sync is working fine for all users except really old accounts that came from Windows NT days and were upgraded along the way to current Active Directory.

When the sync occurs and I check the Miisclient (Synchronization Service Manager) it shows successful with zero errors. If you check one of these accounts you see it just didn't sync to Azure AD with no errors.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do to trace this issue down?

- Windows 10 computer, Office 365 installed on the computer.
- Word and Excel files won't open from any network drives. Word or Excel logo flashes and closes. No errors, no logs.
- Word and Excel files open fine from the local machine, or using UNC path.
- Other non-office files open fine from the network drives.
- All profiles on the computer have the same problem.
- Tried a new profile. No luck.
- Tried to uninstall and install Office 365. No luck.
- Tried to disconnect a network drive, and connect. No luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi,

We have a global Exchange 2010 system running in hybrid mode with Office 365. There were 3 exchange servers - UK (.co.uk mailboxes), Germany - (.de mailboxes) and USA (.com mailboxes).

Due to office closures we had to decommission the UK server infrastructure. I moved all the UK mailboxes into O365, changed MX to point to Office 365 and decommissioned the UK Exchange servers.

UK, Germany and USA users are still in the same GAL though and there are still transport rules and connectors linking O365 and the remaining two regions.

We are also running Azure AD Connect to sync up directory and password from global AD.

My question is this. If I have a new user in the UK and need to assign them a mailbox what is the best way to do it? Directly in O365, on one of the remaining Exchange servers and migrate to O365 or create them as a remote mailbox in Exchange 2010?

Thanks.

Hi

I am running Office 365 Business, our company does not allow users any remote access to their Emails Webmail/Mobile etc. For that reason we have separate passwords for Domain accounts and O365.

Can I used AD sync to keep the 2 services synchronised so that users don't get prompted for a password, in one drive or Outlook (I know that I can tick the remember password box, but this still prompts for the password occasionally). Also do I need any separate licencing for this ?

We have an on-premise Exchange that sync's with Office 365 which was want to keep this way.

A distribution group that was created and managed on the on-premise Exchange server was deleted. It's been a couple of days and its still showing on Office 365. I try to remove it from Office 365 but it doesn't allow me to since its being synchronized from the on-premise exchange.

1. I checked the on-premise exchange and the group gone.
2. I checked the sync logs, no issues and the sync runs every 30 minutes.
3. I created a test group on the on-premise exchange, waited till it sync'd and deleted off the on-premise exchange.
3a. After everything sync'd, the group was removed from Office 365.
4. I recreated the distribution group with the same name/data/email as the group that is still showing on Office 365.
4a. After everything sync'd, a new group was created with the same name on Office 365 with a different email address.
4b. I deleted the group off the on-premise, waiting till everything sync'd and the duplicate group, with the different email address, was removed from Office 365 but the other one still remains.

It seems that something must have happened during the sync, between our on-premise exchange and Office 365, when I originally deleted the group... I have been unable to find a way to successfully delete the group from Office 365.

Office 365 - Exchange
How do I configure O365 to accept another domain.

People,

I'm trying to implement email resiliency solution internally and also externally with no Load Balancer access, so I came up with the below Idea:

http://www.tutorius.com/setting-up-a-dns-round-robin-in-windows
http://exchange929.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/high-availability-for-exchange-2013-cas.html

which I will be applying for all of my Exchange Server 2013 Std. Edition running CAS role:

Internally
AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 1 internal IP address on AD Site 1
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 1 internal IP address on AD Site 1

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 2 internal IP address on AD Site 2
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 2 internal IP address on AD Site 2

...

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server N internal IP address on AD Site N
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server N internal IP address on AD Site N

and also Externally
AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 1 public IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 1 public IP address on the internet.

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server 2 public  IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server 2 public  IP address on the internet.

...

AutoDiscover.domain.com points to CAS server N public IP address on the internet.
OWA.domain.com points to CAS server N public  IP

Hi All,

When I execute the PowerShell script:

Get-MailboxDatabase | Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | ft Name, Database, ServerName, AdminDisplayVersion | ft -AutoSize

I see some weird name mailbox like: Migration.8f3e7716-2011-43e4-96b1-aba62d229136

How can I safely delete it without impacting the email flow or causing any outage?
