I have been asked to check some hard drive that has been used with mac operating system I only have windows OS systems, and when I connected to the HD, I am unable to see the system is there any free software that would allow me to get access to the hard drive.

I have a computer with 2 hard drives, the OS hard drive C: and a file container hard drive D:

It seems that no matter what procedure I try on the D: drive to set Security, I end up when it propagates permissions I get:
Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied.

The approach that seems to be recommended most often is changing the ownership to the current user and propagating the result.

I still get:

An error occurred while applying security information :
Failed to enumerate objects in the container.  Access is denied.
[CONTINUE] and on to the next folder with the same message.

It appears that I've been able to get file access down ONE level in the folders and no more.

There's a lot of data (and folders) on this drive and I'd like to propagate an effective cleanup of Security permissions.

Is there a way?

Is it possible when you boot a Wyse client that you grab a xendesktop and have it seamless to where the end user doesn't realize the os they are looking at  is not on the end point?
I have a cloud server with a public IP address of (not the real IP). There are over 100 users on standalone PC's over 12 sites across the south of the country who have a mapped drive on their devices using the UNC path \\\data. The cloud provider can't upgrade the OS on the server (it's currently server 2008) and therefore a new one needs to be provisioned. I'm migrating the AD data over and replicating the domain name etc. I somehow need to map all users to the new UNC path \\\data with ease. I can't use the hostfile mapping as DNS is not involved.

The question therefore is as follows: Is there an easy way using the command line or PowerShell to route the old IP address to the new IP address so I don't have to re-map over 100 devices or do I suck it up and remap from scratch?
I have a Hyper-V Host running MS Windows Server 2019 Standard which is activated. I then have 2 VMs running the MS Windows Server 2019 Standard.

One is activated but the second one is giving an error of 0xC004C003 - we cant activate Windows on this device because you dont have a valid digital licence or product key.

I have tried running slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx with the product key I have and used on the host OS and it finishes and says successful but the OS still isnt licenced.

Any ideas?
My computer (Win10 Pro) falls into blue screens roughly once a day (or once in several days). The stop codes vary: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, REFERENCE_BY_POINTER, ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NONEXECUTABLE_MEMORY, BAD_POOL_CALLER. The memory check with the Win10 utility in the most rigorous mode has not found any problems. The health of the system disk, according to CrystalDisk, good. The command prompt commands "sfc /scannow" and "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" have not helped. Any ideas on what can be done short of the complete reinstallation of the OS?
I have SCCM current branch 1810 running on W2K12. The SQL DB is running on SQL 2012 on a separate W2K12 server.

I have mistakenly imported computer information for a single computer and used the wrong machine name.  After deleting that computer and re-importing it back in, I now have two records in V_RA_System_MACAddresses with the same mac address (and two different ResourceID's).  I deleted the correctly name computer from SCCM, and I still have two MAC Address records.  

Is there a way to get rid of these orphaned records?  I confirmed neither ResourceID shows up in V_R_System.  I'm not sure where else to look.  

I can't get deploy an OS to this computer until I get rid of these duplicate mac address records.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Despite listening to "an Expert" (e.g. storing valuable data in the Cloud, or at least on three devices!) my brother has lost ALL his family photos stored on an USB External Seagate Drive Enclosure. (for the last 20 years!)

The USB device is detected within the OS (Windows 10), but displays the disk as Not Initialised, and also the size in Disk Management is 3.89GB and not 2TB.


1. Do I just send off to Recovery Firm ?

2. Try and do something myself, and if all fails Do 1. above ?

I've removed the disk from enclosure and luckily (I think ) the 2TB Seagate is a normal SATA device, and not a USB modified hard disk.

Any ideas to successfully recover, gets the points.

Interesting observation the disk makes a pulsing buzzing noise, like it's trying to spin up and stops, but does eventually get there....and power up this occurs via the original USB enclosure and a USB caddy system (USB).

I may connect direct to a SATA bus.
I am looking to upgrade OS from windows server 2008 R2 Standard to latest OS which is supported to SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise.

I have established a test environment in Azure, that mirrors our production environment.
RDS server - 4 CPU, 16GB memory, 50GB standard SSD drive
AOS server - 8 CPU, 32GB memory, 140GB standard SSD drive
DB server- 4 CPU, 112GB memory, 650GB standard SSD OS drive, 300GB Standard SSD DB drive, 100GB standard SSD TEMP DB drive.

AX performance is slow....
For example; clicking the Totals Button on the main call grid of a service call, ( should get you the parts, labor, and grand total of the whole call) can take up to 2 minutes for the total.
Shouldn't take more than 15 seconds.

For trouble shooting I increase the 'power' of all the servers.

RDS server - 8 CPU, 32GB memory, 50GB Premium SSD drive
AOS server - 16 CPU, 64GB memory, 140GB Premium SSD drive
DB server- 32 CPU, 256GB memory, 650GB Premium SSD OS drive, 300GB Premium SSD DB drive, 100GB Premium SSD TEMP DB drive.   (made the needed changes in SQL to recognize the extra memory.)

AX user speeds did not improve.

Had a client that had a RAID Array failure, which resulted in lost data, that had to be recreated mostly by hand. The HD's did not fail, but the RAID Controller lost connection to 3 drives in cascading fashion on a 4 HD RAID 6 Array. The drives are good as they were put back in to function with the same RAID array for over a year now with zero issues. Including zero issues on the RAID Controller.

The insurance company is denying the claim for loss of use and cost to repair the OS and VM's and restore company functionality. The exclusion is "Wear and Tear".

The question is, what AGE range is considered to qualify for "Wear and Tear" for an Enterprise level server, with enterprise-level HD's? Obviously, a desktop computer would be rated lower than a server that is designed to run non stop and have less of a rate of failure.
I have a PowerEdge T610 with a Perc 6/i Integrated controller. when i look at it in Open Manage i can find the predictive failure drive and have i identified it by enable blinking on the drive. but i can't tell if it is a RAID level drive so i can replace it without shutting down the server? OpenManage shows 2 connector(s) the first Connector 0 RAID has 4 drives 0:0:0:0, 0:0:0:1, 0:0:0:2 and 0:0:0:3 all on line and good status. the other connector, Connector 1 RAID only shows 1 drive ID: 1:0:4 Physical Disk: Status show Non-Critical.  Drive details below. what i am trying to figure out is, is the drive part of a RAID array? Seem odd to have 1 drive sitting by itself not as part of a RAID.  Also, what data is on this specific drive?

Aruba wireless controller OS 8.x cli configuration
I am looking to build scripts for deployments of aruba controllers rather than use the gui. Working with Aruba and others, this request has been made but without an answer other than 'use the gui'. With the support of Aruba, the gui is taking between 3 - 4 hours.

Attached is a sanitized version of a script. I believe there are portions of this script where it has to be written to memory before continuing as well as changing directories in various parts. There are so few lines, I dont understand why we cannot simply create a script to automate this part?? Anyone have experience doing this?
We have over 80 computers that are experiencing the same issue. The far right side of the screen randomly freezes where we can not minimize , restore down or close any open window. when i right click on the frozen section of the window, i get the grayed out copy option pop up. I have found that the temporal fix for this is to change the screen resolution. I have tried upgrading device drivers and this hasn't helped. I'm running windows 10 pro on the systems and no recent updates were installed to cause any issues.

What's the file system in the latest Ubuntu OS?  Any issues installing Windows 10 on the top of it from scratch and formatting?   For some reason some folks afraid doing it because it may 'crash' the HD.

I am keeping this generic - so that some may suggest something 'Out of the Box' that may lead to a technique/tool/approach being suggested.

I have a client that uses a 3rd party IIS based application running from an internal server and uses a MS SQL Db underneath.  The SW vendor is having problems with it randomly stalling servers for the last 2 yrs :( and is stuck trying to resolve it) and it took them 18 months to admit it was affecting other customers   > :(

On ocassion it loads up the OS to the point that ASR cuts in and reboots the server, which is handy (but not desirable) given the OS becomes totally inaccessible.  There are times (like today) where I get enough notice that its having a moment, that I can log in and gather information on what is going on.  I usualy go to IIS manager and stop/start the respective App pool.

I have used
  1. Event log information
  2. Perfmon to gather huge data on the W3WP process and subordinates.
  3. IIS to list currently active worker processes and their Request State details for the vendor.
  4. Ran a dependency trace on the W3WP.exe and relevent application specific DLL's to weed out missing/outdated dependencies
  5. Used some of Idera's SQL analysis tools to check on what the DB is "hearing" and doing.

So, throw me something I havent thought of that may be worth a try.  The SW vendor is a decorated MSFT developer so I expect they've got access …

I am trying to run a powershell script that runs via sccm task sequencer via "task sequence media" option.
The goal is to recieve user input right after the os installation to change computer name since the step after that is to add that computer to the domain.

After i create the media (USB), i run it and when it reaches the script part i get an error :
if i disable this step , everything else works fine, including adding the pc to the domain - only it recives random name.
If core box hosts some virtual server,  the OS for the Core Box should have the same or higher OS version than that of the virtuals. Is it right?

Hi expert, we have a  server which runs 2008 OS,  where we have active directory and domain controller. After January next year,  Microsoft will not support it. My question is if we do not upgrade, will it affect the operations? Thank you!
GM All. I am trying to IP a newly installed IBM P7 running AIX 7.1.   I have a db9 null modem cable attached to serial 1 but am still not getting a response.  I get to the screen where I’m able to set the IP address/hostname/root password but then it seems to stall right after I get this message:
0513-059 The ctrmc Subsystem has been started. Subsystem PID is 23274.

Then it hangs.  Any idea how to get around this?  Thanks....
