A Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format consisting of an electronic image resembling a printed document and can be viewed, printed, and electronically transmitted. PDF files can store various types of data, including formatted text, vector graphics, and raster images. The page layout defines the location, size, and shape of each page and each item on the page. The information looks the same no matter what device or program is used to open it.

Is it possible to email a pdf document to an email address contained within the PDF document, and if so how?
I have a csv file containing name, address, email address, and a payment amount.

Fore each person in the csv file, I want to send a PDF receipt.
More precisely I want to send an email to the email address, with an attachment in PDF made from a html template filled with name, address and amount.

Tools I can use:
- MS Office or Libre Office on Windows
- I used VBA some years ago
- Linux/Bash shells
Is there any good converter or site to change PDF to Word file?

Is there good sharing to do the same by C#/Java, in programmable way?
Hello and Good Morning Everyone,

          I am needing help printing out a large PDF file located at https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf in a time-efficient manner.  The document is 108 pages.   Each time I attempt to send this document to the network printer at work,  the printer never actually receives it.  However, whenever I click on the printer icon at the bottom right of the screen, I see the message of spooling page 1, page 2, etc.  I went to different computers too and got the same result.   That said, I am wondering what I could do to speed up the process of the printer receiving the PDF document so I can print it.

          Any shared tips and or suggestions regarding the resolution of this concern will be greatly appreciated.

          Thank you.

I am wanting to update the following macro to include saving it as a PDF before clearing the contents

Ideally, I would like the pdf to not open on save and save to the following file path:

Sub SvMe()
     'Saves filename as value of A1 plus the current date
    Dim newFile As String, fName As String
     ' Don't use "/" in date, invalid syntax
    fName = Range("D12").Value
     'Change the date format to whatever you'd like, but make sure it's in quotes
    newFile = fName & " " & Format$(Date, "mm-dd-yyyy")
     ' Change directory to suit your PC, including USER NAME
    ChDir _
    ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs filename:=newFile
End Sub

Sub ClearUnlockedCells()
Dim cel As Range, rg As Range
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
With Worksheets("INVOICE")
    Set rg = .Range("B1:J50")
    For Each cel In rg.Cells
        If (cel.Locked = False) And (cel.Value <> "") Then cel.MergeArea.ClearContents
End With
End Sub

Trying to add a pdf file to powerpoint.  I have inserted a pdf file as an object into a powerpoint presentation.  Then I read instructions on how to make it active within the presentation by adding an action to it.  The action I have chose is :  mouse click - open .  When I do this all it does it shrink the pdf file.  It shows it normally (the first page of the pdf file) and then when I click on the pdf it just shows up like it is a thumbnail.

All I really want to do is click to the slide of the pdf file, click it, and it brings up adobe reader to view the pdf
I head up a small branch of a national organization and I think our Website is the free platform.  We had a volunteer Webmaster but he quit.

I have never worked with Wordpress.

The Website has a page where we post PDF newsletters and I do not know how to add additional newsletters.

How do I post PDF newsletters on an existing page?

Many thanks,

M. Cook
I'm having a problem when i merge two PDF documents.  The process that i run through is to open the first larger document and then from within Acrobat i run through the INSERT routine.  Once the insert is complete random words and characters are changed to garbage.  It looks similar to the wingdings font.  Some words are completely replaced while other words are only partially replaced with bad characters.  All of these words are written in English

I'm using a Windows 10 computer with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2015.006.30508

Is there a way to merge documents without the words/fonts becoming illegible?
I am using PDFParser (https://www.pdfparser.org/documentation). I understand that it builds upon TCPDF library and both the PDF Parser and TCDF provide examples.  Does anyone know where I can find a more complete manual ??  I am really looking for a PDF parser to XML format using PHP 5X
Thank you.
Hello Experts,

Need some help in calculating specific choices selected in radio button groups. I've search the net but not finding what I need. So have 18 radio button groups. One group for each 18 rows of questions and three choices (columns) in each row for Lower Risk, Moderate Risk and Higher risk. The naming convention looks like this:
Group 1: Risk1 Choices: LwrRsk1, ModRsk1, HighRsk1
Group 2, Risk2 Choices: LwrRsk2, ModRsk2, HighRsk2
Group 3: Risk3 Choices: LwrRsk3, ModRsk3, HighRsk3, etc.

I need a way to add up all the choices select for LwrRsk choices, all the values for the ModRsk choices and sum the values for all the HighRsk choices selected and display the value of the sums in respected text boxes called Lower Risk Total, Moderate Risk Total, High Risk Total.

Hoping someone can help me with this.

Attached is the form I am working with....

Hi Experts,

My new client gave me the attached PDF post as content and I am wondering how would someone do it?

If I take a snapshot and save it as image, it is too blurry.

If I use a PDF to HTML online converter I get a lot of symbols like ~~0 instead of the percents

I tried the PDF Embedder, but I get Setting up fake worker failed: "Cannot read property 'WorkerMessageHandler' of undefined".

The best was the converter, and I go line by line and edit the symbols, but the HTML is not in order as they use absolute positioning. I can do it, but I cannot help wonder if this is the proper way or if there is a better way.finra-infographic---the-financial-ch.pdf
I need some advice/guidance/suggestions. I am using localhost,  Win 10 . both IIS and WampServer  (Apache 2.4.23) are running (each have their own listening ports), and have both PHP 5.6.25 and 7.0.10 installed. I sometimes do work with classical ASP. With all being said, I have the need to extract data from pdf files and insert the data into a db.
I thought it would be easier for me to convert them to XML documents. This needs to be achieved programmatically and not at the CLI level.
I have pretty much decided that Java would be good to use (although I am far more comfortable with PHP) and have already posted two questions concerning the project.
WHAT I think I need is to have a IDE for my Java. I normally use Notepad++ (and sometimes CodeIgniter) Would Netbeans IDE be good to use ??
I am not very versed with Java, I am better with PHP.
If anyone has any suggestions and/or pointers for me about any of this - I am all ears and listening.
Thank you.
I using localhost, Win 10 and have Java 13.0.1 64 bit installed, and have both IIS and Wampserver (both have different listening ports.) installed.
I am trying to convert PDF to XML and found a great snippet of coding at the following url:

The problem I am having is the with the com.lowagie.text-2.1.7 jar file from the following url:

Open in new window

It gives me the error -  see below attached screenshot  : no main manifest attribute in c:\wamp\www\PDFConvert\com.lowagie.text-2.1.7 jar
How can I fix this ?? I have also emailed the developer of the code to inquire as if I am using the right package and believe that I am because of
"lowagie" being part of the handlers.
Any help/guidance would be appreciated...
I need to programmatically convert pdf files to XML to be able to extract data and insert into a database.
I have researched and seen many examples.
My environment is: I am developing using localhost, I have Java 13.0.1 installed , I have set the java bin path in environment variable (rebooted afterwards). I have both inetpub and wampserver installed (listening on different ports) and have successfully compiled java classes (beginners examples) on my computer.
I found this coding (listed below) at: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/16936013/java-code-for-pdf-to-xml-conversion.

I am not very skilled at Java. I compiled the class  at the cmd line: javac c:\wamp\www\PDFConvert\ConvertPDFToXML.java and receive the errors (36 of them!). The errors are concern with the first 3 lines after the public class declaration  - static StreamResult streamResult;  static TransformerHandler handler; static AttributesImpl atts;
The errors are  "cannot find static streamResult steamResult" ; "cannot find static streamResult TransformerHandler " ;"cannot find static streamResult AttributesImpl " for each time the above 3 appeared in the coding.
SO I decided to add the following code to the top of the coding:
import java.util.stream;
import javax.xml.transform.sax;
import org.xml.sax.helpers;

Open in new window

That just resulted in producing same type of errors for those lines.
I have attached a screenshot of the errors.
Could someone be as so kind as to help and educate me in what…
Trying to download a pdf using C# and Selenium, when the pdf icon is hidden in the shadow-root until you hover over it.
Tried Selenium and javascript,  one of my images will have my attempts so far.
Selenium can not find elements.
javascript error is view is not defined.
defined here: var ele = ((IJavaScriptExecutor)WebDriver).ExecuteAsyncScript("window.customElements.define(viewer-pdf-toolbar)");

any idea on how to save this document as a pdf without clicking the button, or how to click the button using C#?

Thanks in advance
I have PDF files which I need to access because I forgot my password I am not able to open it anymore. I bought a System Tools program which said it would be able to remove the passwords or reset it, but what they said is this:

"Dear Customer,

Thanks for your email.

We are unable to recover/reset the password from your pdf file due to AES encryption. "

I know that there are some tools to remove this password and access the PDF files. I am an IT Security graduate and I have seems many tools to do many things.

Would you be able to advise which tools I could use for that?
I have PDF file (Folder?) - [Event Calendar 2020 - 11 months.pdf] - which contains 11 PDF files.

How do I extract each of the 11 PDF files to use elsewhere?

I do not want to modify files, just display them seperately.
I am using a version of dom pdf  which is throwing up the following error with php version 7.1.29:

Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; Cpdf has a deprecated constructor in C:\xampp7\htdocs\Inventas\Sites\includes\pdf\lib\class.pdf.php on line 49
I have checked the dompdf_config.inc.php file and see:
class  Cpdf {

This is what I have managed to find re. the version:
@contributor Helmut Tischer <htischer@weihenstephan.org>
* @version 0.5.1.htischer.20090507
Does anyone know how to get around this or as an alternative - another version of dom pdf?
Need robust highlight & comment exporting for PDFs.

Found this description here:

OK. I found an awesome tool in the [Adobe Acrobat] app Highlights!

My workflow is now read and highlight in Preview, Save, Open in Highlights and export to .pdf (several other options available.) Easy.

The new .pdf is very easy to read, the highlights I made are collated under a page number reference.

Thanks for replies to my question. Problem is solved.

Just about to buy another brand which has good export of comments, but would prefer to use Adobe Acrobat DC.

Anyone have any experience with this additional comment exporting app inside Adobe Acrobat called "Highlights" described above?  Need some screenshots of what this looks like in Adobe Acrobat?  It seems like it is a US$30 add-on.  Am I right?  Is it available if I'm using the subscription model for Adobe Acrobat?  Not the highlighting feature itself - that's a default feature.  It seems to be some kind of add-on offered by Adobe that cleanly exports comments & highlights.

Many thanks!!!!

I am new to AWS. I have done a great deal of background reading/research which always helps when you are trying to resolve a problem.
That being said, I have a problem which I do not understand.
We have an ASP legacy system which will remain in ASP indefinitely.
We have stored pdfs with images – S3 in the AWS cloud.
The images and pdfs are “public”.
Part of the URL is dynamically constructed each time based on the “user” that logins (tagged onto the AWS info) We have a newer system – codeigniter/php –  which will display the pdfs and image just fine with the dynamically created URL.
But will not do so in our ASP legacy system.
I understand that by the simple use of a URL, I should be able to access the pdf etc., and particularly since the pdfs and images are “public”.
I develop using localhost, (PHP-Wampserver) but can also develop ASP.
SO my question is two fold.
Do we need to install a something on our ASP server to enable us to view the images as well??
And what SDK must I install on my localhost (I am thinking the JavaScript and PHP)
I thought maybe it might be a security/permission issue with the ASP server accessing the cloud but that doesn’t make sense because on the ASP side, it will display the pdf but not the image.
This is becoming urgent and any help/advice/pointers would really be appreciated. Thank you.
